Many founders dream of overnight success stories, but Giuseppe’s journey is more familiar to most entrepreneurs: His first startup, Ooze Drinks, failed. Inspired by the shocking reality of food waste, Giuseppe eventually gave the UK food industry a second go, and created a health snacks line using “wonky” produce, along with co-founder Claudio Owusu. A financial grant from Shell Energy of £5,000 and early success in the Supermarkets spelled the beginning of eventual success for Gusto Snacks.
The relationships, missteps, and learnings from the first startup created the groundwork for his next venture.
