Parenting sensitive children demands more than just conventional approaches. After nearly exhausting every traditional therapy option for my kids who hold it together in public but release their emotions at home, I discovered a powerful truth: the spiritual dimension of parenting transformed our family dynamics in ways no cognitive behavioral therapy or occupational therapy ever could.

This revelation marks an important evolution in my parenting journey and this podcast. What began as Heart to Heart Parents is now becoming The Spiritual Parent—reflecting the spiritual undercurrent that has naturally emerged as the most effective approach for my family and many others. When therapy professionals told me there was nothing more they could offer my "over-therapetized" children, I turned inward and discovered healing through energy work, mindfulness practices, and heart-centered parenting.

The results have been remarkable. My son now requests Reiki before bed to help ground and calm him after busy days. My seven-year-old daughter asks for guided meditations and visualizations of protective white light around her room. These aren't concepts I forced upon them—they naturally gravitate toward what helps them feel safe, centered, and loved. This podcast will explore these practices while honoring the unique path of every family. We'll discuss energy work, the law of attraction, guided meditations, and most importantly, how to tune into your heart when the countless parenting books and conflicting advice become overwhelming. After all, no expert knows your child better than you do when you're connected to your inner wisdom.

Join me on this transformative journey by following @thespiritualparent on Instagram and Facebook, or reaching out at info@hearttoheartlife.com. I'd love to hear what spiritual parenting means to you and what topics you're most curious about. And if this resonates with you, please leave a five-star review to help other parents discover these powerful tools for family transformation.

Carrie Lingenfelter (00:00):
healings, guided meditations, teaching our
kids about energy, teaching ourkids the mindful pieces of how
to focus on what we want insteadof what we don't want.
We're going to talk about thelaw of attraction Maybe you've
heard it with Abraham Hicks.
Lee Harris also talks a littlebit about it Some of these
amazing people that have seen itin their lives or have brought

(00:21):
it to share with so many amazingpeople and I feel like parents,
we need this right now morethan ever.
We need to learn how to tuneinto our hearts, because there
is so much parentingphilosophies, there are so many
parenting books and podcasts andall of these things out there
online courses, there's amazingwork out there, but every child

(00:46):
is different.
Every parent, every singleparent plus every parent couple,
if you have that situation aredifferent, and so we really need
to tune into our hearts, haveour partner tune into their
hearts and work together to findwhat is best for our kids.
Hi, conscious Parents.
It's Keri here and I am herewith a little info about raising

(01:07):
our mindful kids.
I've got some tips and tricksabout breaking free of the box
and becoming who you are andteaching your kids how to do
that.
Along the way, join us, hithere, parents, and welcome back
.
It's Keri, your friendly, intuitive mama here, and I'm so
excited to connect with youtoday.
We have a lot of changes thathave been happening at Heart to
Heart Parents.

(01:28):
There's been a undercurrent ofspiritual parenting that has
really come into the mainstreamof Heart to Heart Parents and we
are now looking at changing ourname it's going to be the
spiritual parent instead ofheart to heart parents, because
I really want to put it outthere so you guys can really

(01:49):
understand what you're tuning inand listening to.
So, for those of you who havefollowed along in this journey
with us, I am so excited totransition into this new version
.
We're still going to haveamazing, wonderful, deeply
connected guests and still goingto have bonus episodes,
individual episodes with Carriemyself and I love sharing some

(02:10):
of these journeys with you.
So let me tell you a little bitabout why I'm doing this.
When I originally started Heartto Heart Parents, I wanted to
connect with parents goingthrough this journey of raising
amazing, highly sensitive kids, but also all kids.
Raising kids in itself cansometimes be a journey, and if
you are a parent that is readyto open yourself up, to connect

(02:34):
with yourself and heal and growand learn in your parenting
journey, then you are ready tobe a spiritual parent and so, as
I have continued on thisjourney, it's been about almost
18 months, plus the six monthsto a year that I worked before I
started the podcast.
So it's almost been about twoand a half years now that I've

(02:56):
been working on this journeymyself and then also taking my
husband on the journey too.
One day I was looking at havinga therapist for my kids.
I was looking at this therapycenter locally here that a
psychologist had recommended andI think it's a really cool.
Really cool not a spiritualcenter a really cool therapy

(03:18):
center.
And, as you know, I was aspeech therapist, so I am an
early intervention specialistwith speech therapy.
So I really had this backgroundof evidence-based practice and
we've done a lot ofevidence-based practice for our
kids.
We've done things like OT andcognitive behavioral therapy for
some kids area, as well as sometherapies for myself and my

(03:42):
husband to help us learn abouthow to support our kids.
So I went to the center and theyhave OTs, slps, counselors, a
lot of different staff on staffand I started to talk with them
about what can you provide formy kids?
And here's what my kids looklike.
And as I started to describe tothem, the contact person I was
talking to was like, okay, Idon't know what we can do.

(04:04):
Let me put you with my manager.
I'm going to set up a meetingwith the manager of the clinic
because I don't know how we canhelp you.
Okay, cool, all right.
So I meet with them and Idescribe all these therapy
approaches and things that wehave done, and I described how
my kids really hold it all inwhen they're outside in everyday

(04:25):
environment and then as soon asthey come home, they just open
up and let it all out, and myhusband and I are pretty much
the only ones that ever see oh,and they're sibling each other
are the only ones that ever seethis side of them that really
needs to connect with us andneeds to connect with themselves
in this spiritual journey.
So as I was talking to themanager of this amazing clinic

(04:47):
nearby, she was like, honestly, there's not much we can do left
for you.
You've done a lot of things, you've given them a lot of tools
and there's not much we can do.
And I was like, wow, that'sinteresting, but I'm still
having some things I need helpwith.
And you know, in that moment Iturned into my heart and I
understood it's time for someenergy work, it's time for some

(05:08):
spiritual shifts.
It's time for Carrie tocontinue learning and growing
and healing in her parentingjourney, because they are the
reflection of us.
Right, if they're still havingmoments of challenges in them,
they're reflecting to me that, hey, carrie, you're not
enlightened yet.
You're not a Cartoli.

(05:30):
You've still got pieces of you.
Even a Cartoli probably haspieces of him.
Everybody, because we're livinga human experience, has pieces
of us that we can still work onin our hearts, in our intuitions
, in our souls and spirits.
So I have embarked in learningother tools.
Reiki has been a huge helperfor me and my son actually asks

(05:54):
for Reiki at night now.
It's amazing.
He has to understand how ithelps to ground him, how it
helps to calm him, how it helpsto release energy from the day
and renew himself for the nextday.
So as we continue down this,I've really learned that I need
to blossom into the spiritualside, because that has actually
hands down.

(06:15):
It has been the biggest changerin my kids' lives and guess
what?
It's not just my kids, it'sbeen the biggest changer in my
life and it's been the biggestchanger in my husband's life.
So, as I embark in starting tochange the name of our podcast,
we're now going to be theSpiritual Parent.
I hope that you continue onthis journey with me.
We are now going to be talkingabout things.

(06:35):
We I hope that you continue onthis journey with me.
We are now going to be talkingabout things.
We're still talking aboutEnergy work, healings, guided
meditations, teaching our kidsabout energy, teaching our kids
the mindful pieces of how tofocus on what we want instead of
what we don't want.
We're going to talk about thelaw of attraction.
Maybe you've heard it withAbraham Hicks.

these things out there onlinecourses there's amazing work out

if you have that situation aredifferent, and so we really need

(07:38):
to tune into our hearts, haveour partner tune into their
hearts and work together to findwhat is best for our kids.
That is something we talk abouton.
The spiritual parent is how tohear our hearts.
That's a huge piece of thepuzzle, right?
So join us in this parentingjourney.
We're going to keep helping youfind the next door to open for

(07:58):
yourselves, when one door shutsand somebody says there's
nothing I can do.
You've done all of the therapies.
Your kids are I love the term,I've been using it a lot.
My kids are over-therapetized.
They've done all the therapies.
Guess what, carrie?
It's time for you tospiritually connect and it's
time for you to continueteaching your kids those

(08:21):
spiritual tools and thosemindful tools and those
conscious tools, because they'regrowing into themselves.
And guess what?
My kids yearn for it.
They're asking me can you doReiki on me at night, mom, and
my little one who's just turnedseven?
She's saying mom, I need my, myguided meditation tonight.

(08:42):
Mom, I need you to draw thewhite light around the room so I
don't have nightmares.
I need you to help me talkabout love.
Let's talk about I am love, youare love, we are love.
Our room is bursting with love, our house is bursting with love
.
Every night my seven-year-oldasks for it.
So these things that make adifference in our kids' lives,

(09:02):
let's work together.
Let's empower our kids andlet's empower you, because this
can be a hard journey.
I see you parents.
I see you raising kids in thisever-changing, very busy, often
chaotic, often stressful world.
Right now it's Mayvember.
I call it Mayvember likeDecember right, when we're all
getting all the gifts for thekids and such.

(09:24):
We're now getting teacher'sgifts, we have recitals, we have
end of the year soccer games.
My son just got his badge inCub Scouts and we had this giant
camp out and we thought theweather was going to go crazy,
but guess what?
We stayed positive and, woo,the sun came out.
So let's continue on thisamazing parenting journey.

you can do it in quiet.

(10:28):
