Carrie Lingenfelter (00:00):
When we
embrace the spiritual side of us
, we are tuning in to connectwith the true version of
ourselves.
Isn't that a powerful piece?
Don't we want our kids toconnect with the true version of
themselves?
Don't we want to see our kidsin the best light, see the best
versions of them?
So let's start number one withembracing the spirituality in
(00:22):
our own lives, and that can looklike taking our challenges of
the day and looking at them astools for what we need to grow,
learn or heal in ourselves.
It's such a process and, oh mydear, it doesn't happen
overnight.
Wouldn't it be nice if we couldjust like flip a switch,
bewitched style flip a switchand just have it all done, right
(00:43):
, no, no, no, no.
It is actually in the journey, right?
The journey that opens andcontinues to open doors along
this path.
Hi, conscious Parents, it'sKeri here and I am here with a
little info about raising ourmindful kids.
I've got some tips and tricksabout breaking free of the box
and becoming who you are andteaching your kids how to do
(01:04):
that along the way.
Join us, hi Conscious Parents.
Are you ready to really embracethe woo?
Are you ready to become aspiritual parent?
That's where I'm at right now.
I have looked at many differentconscious parenting ideas and
pieces and shared those with you, but really embracing the
spirituality as a parent is whathas set me free the most.
(01:27):
For example, as an entrepreneur, I've had people that have
mentioned use the termsconscious, use the terms mindful
, use those more than spiritual.
But I really had my whole bodylock up when I did not embrace
spirituality in myentrepreneurial journey.
So I am sharing with you guystoday these pieces of how we can
(01:48):
embrace spirituality into ourparenting, how we can teach our
kids some spiritual tools andhow we live that in our lives.
When we embrace the spiritualside of us, we are tuning in to
connect with the true version ofourselves.
Isn't that a powerful piece?
Don't we want our kids toconnect with the true version of
ourselves?
Isn't that a powerful piece?
Don't we want our kids toconnect with the true version of
(02:09):
themselves?
Don't we want to see our kidsin the best light, see the best
versions of them?
So let's start number one withembracing the spirituality in
our own lives, and that can looklike taking our challenges of
the day and looking at them astools for what we need to grow,
learn or heal in ourselves.
(02:31):
It's such a process and, oh mydear, it doesn't happen
overnight.
Wouldn't it be nice if we couldjust like flip a switch,
bewitch style, flip a switch andjust have it all done, right?
No, no, no, no.
It is actually in the journey, right?
The journey that opens andcontinues to open doors along
this path, because, even thoughI'm a spiritual mom and a
(02:52):
spiritual parent, I still havethings that come up every day
For me.
It looks like getting in the carafter picking up my kids and
one of my kiddos starts to havea moment, just a meltdown.
And it's not just a littlemeltdown, it's like whoa, an
eruptive meltdown.
I'm like what is going on?
I don't even understand.
When I dropped you off atschool this morning, you were in
(03:13):
such a good mood and we're juston our way to our ninja
gymnastics group and I don'tknow if we're going to make it.
Guys, looking at that moment ofmaybe, I'm feeling this eruption
inside of me as well.
Oh, it's a full moon, you guys, there's this energetically,
there's this energetic massthat's going on between us.
(03:34):
So how do I help that?
I pull the car over because, number one, safety first.
Right, we're a parent, safety.
First, we pull the car over andwe look at what is going on
right now.
What is it that you are feeling?
You're not feeling heard.
Right, my kid is not feelingheard.
So I connect with them.
I connect with them and, wow, you're really expressing that.
(03:57):
You're frustrated, you don'twant to go to ninjas today, and
that's where this is coming from.
Ooh, you had a hard afternoon.
Let's get some air conditioninggoing on you.
Let's get some water and somesnacks in you.
Luckily, I'm a spiritual butprepared mama and I bring all of
the stuff with me, includinggrounding crystals that are also
there.
So, when everything is calm, Ilet them choose a crystal.
(04:19):
But I'm reflecting back on howdid I feel in that moment too.
Mom was starting to erupt andI've been really, really doing
all these spiritual pieces thatCarrie has taught me.
I don't understand why I'mstill erupting right now,
because I'm human and dailystruggles can come up sometimes
(04:39):
and those are opportunities tolook at.
Okay, there's a really big moonright now.
I'm feeling really, reallyintense and, ooh, as I kind of
tune into my mind-body-spiritconnection, I'm noticing that my
skin feels raw.
Today I went about all of myduties of the day doing my work
(05:01):
cleaning house, cooking amazingmeals for my family and I didn't
realize that my skin feels rawtoday.
What is going on?
Something's not settled.
So I'm going to look atjournaling.
I'm going to look at thingsthat bubble up while I'm doing
my normal housework or work work.
(05:21):
Things that bubble up.
Ooh, carrie, you're feelingfrustrated because some things
have been funky at work that youmight need to work on.
Ooh, yes, that's right.
I need an energetic shift there.
I need to make some changes.
I need to do this podcast toshare about spiritual parenting
with parents, because it'scoming up, it's bubbling up and
(05:42):
when things are not settled forme energetically, when my kid's
having a meltdown, I'm going tofeel like going head to head.
No, mom doesn't want to.
Mom doesn't want to tune in.
I need to tune into myselfbefore I can tune into what's
going on with you.
If I'm not in this state ofconscious spiritual parenting,
if I'm not in my zen, how can Ihelp you find your zen?
(06:04):
Because you are a mirror of howI'm feeling.
Guess what, as soon as I startto sit down and work on these
pieces, the kid as soon as Istarted to hear them.
Okay, you don't have to go toninjas today.
Let's go home, let's have atoday.
Let's go home, let's have asnack, let's cool down, let's
see where our body is at.
Sister is ready to go.
Brother, he turns around and hesays I want to go to ninjas.
(06:28):
Wow, that's interesting,because I stayed grounded, I
stay connected.
I realized there are some thingsI need to work on myself.
When I have a minute, now I'mable to stay grounded with my
kiddo, we go to ninjas and aswe're sitting in ninjas, I do
some self-reflections.
What's going on in my body?
Yes, it was that work thingthat was feeling funky and as I
(06:51):
can kind of maybe think aboutI'm just going to leave it out
there that something doesn'tfeel right and I need to
brainstorm on this later, when Ihave more time.
As a parent, I need to meditate, intuitive right.
I need to grab my crystals, doa little chakra alignment
meditation, all of these toolsthat I have up my sleeve as a
(07:11):
spiritual mom.
I'm going to turn to them later.
So I'm sitting there in ninjasand I'm calming myself down
again because I know that thingsdon't have to stay in this funk
.
The lights are flickering.
I guess the universe is reallyhappy with this experience that
I am going through and sharingwith you guys right now.
So, yes, I'm starting to feelmore aligned in my energy.
(07:33):
As I realized, this bubble upfor me was a reflection or my
son's bubble up was a reflectionof the bubble up that I am
going through as well, becausewhen I started to acknowledge it
, look how fast he calmed down.
Woo, that was a quicktransition Half an hour.
He's in the ninja class rightnow.
So I'm thinking I'm using thistime to tune in.
I'm going to write down acouple of things this bubbled up
(07:55):
for me and then later, afterthe kids go to bed, I sit down,
I meditate, I calm myself.
I do something that helped meto feel grounded.
Maybe I'm I'm going throughsome spiritual courses right now
, so I do a little bit of thespiritual work.
I sit and I meditate and I seewhat is going on in my world,
(08:15):
what is causing this, this shift, and as I think about that, I
can start to lay out some ideas.
You don't have to make thosechoices right in that moment.
Right, we're going to seewhat's going to feel good over
the next few days.
What are we drawn to?
Because, as we open that doorto that shifting, things are
going to start to bubble up thattell us.
(08:38):
This is the cause of what'sfeeling wrong with you
energetically.
Here are some solutions.
When you can name it to tame it.
Love that from Dr Dan Siegel.
I'm going to keep using that, even for parents, not just kids,
when I can name it and I canstart saying here's the problem,
now let's find some solutions.
Right that already that littlenighttime shift that I did for
(09:02):
myself is going to reflect in mykids.
My son gets up the next morning, which is this morning as I'm
telling you this story, and heis so happy.
I love you, mom.
You're the best mom in theworld.
I'm so excited to go to schooltoday.
I love that you've changed meto this new school.
I love it so much.
I'm like that is a night andday from what we had yesterday
(09:24):
afternoon.
So you guys, you can do thesespiritual parenting pieces.
You can start to see where theroot of these problems that your
kids may bubble up are from.
Where is that root from?
Oftentimes it's ourselves.
Oftentimes it's us putting itout there without realizing
(09:46):
energetically we're putting itout there and our kids, who are
born so connected to us, to theuniverse, to those around them.
They are reflecting back on uswhat we need to work on
ourselves.
Woo, I didn't even know that Iwas going through this, you guys
, I didn't even know that I wasneeding this shift in my life.
This, you guys, I didn't evenknow that I was needing this
(10:09):
shift in my life, but it startedthis huge, massive energy
tumbleweed.
I'm gonna call it the energetictumbleweed of what I need to
work on myself, and it's notjust in our working world.
It can be in something that aconnection I might be having
that is challenging for me withmy parents.
It could be a connection thatI'm having with my partner,
maybe my partner's connection, maybe my partner is going
(10:31):
through something and it'sreflecting in the kids and when
I start to help them tune in forare you feeling all right?
Are you feeling a little funky?
You know this full moon has mea little bit off.
Where are you feelingenergetically?
Where are you?
I'm noticing the kids aregetting a little frustrated.
(10:51):
How have you been feelinglately?
Are you picking up some of myintensity?
Because, yes, our spouses, ourpartners, can reflect our
intensity as well.
Think about this, spiritualparents, and if these changes
help you along your journey, then I would love to hear about
it, because that's where we'reat the little seeds that I help
