Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Sugar Show, where we dive, as you know
, into the world of bodysugaring, and today we're going
to get real about things thatmight be holding you back in
your sugar business, and thenumber one thing is you and the
things you do or don't do inyour treatment room, with your
clients and in your businessthat could be harming your
success.
Now, I came up with thisepisode because I get a lot of

(00:24):
DMs and emails from studentsthat are very frustrated with
their business and they're nottaking a good, hard look at
themselves, and so I thought, you know, it's easy to get
caught up in the day to dayoperations of your business and
overlook certain aspects thatcould be negatively impacting
your success.
You know, maybe it's youroutdated decor in your treatment

(00:45):
room that's turning yourclients away, or maybe it's the
pricing structure that's not inline with industry standards.
Whatever it may be, it'simportant to take a step back
and evaluate what changes youcan make to improve your
business.
We're going to explore somecommon pitfalls that sugar
professionals face and how youcan overcome them to achieve

(01:05):
greater success in your business.
It's time to get real withyourself and make the necessary
changes to thrive in the worldof body sugaring.
Are you interested in learningmore about body sugaring or are
you a sugar professional whoalready knows how to sugar but

(01:26):
you are looking for better waysto kick up your business?
Welcome to the Sugar Showpodcast.
I'm your host, shannon theSugar Mama, and, as a fellow SD
who learned to sugar 11 yearsago and tripled my solo skincare
business, I want to share notonly my sugaring wisdom but
introduce you to my network offriends who are masters in their

(01:48):
fields and want to help youexpand your sugaring business.
Let's get started.
Okay, here we go.
That seems very dramatic, Iknow, but there are nine key
points.
There's probably so many more, but I'm just going to hold it to
nine.
Today for this episode.
We're going to break it downinto the treatment room your

(02:09):
clients and your business.
That's holding you back fromyour success.
So let's start with an easy one, number one having outdated
decor and equipment in yoursalon.
It can have a negative effecton your business.
So let's talk about that firstobvious negative first
impression.
Your decor and equipment arethe first things that your

(02:29):
clients notice when they enteryour establishment.
If it's outdated, it can givethe impression that your
business is behind the times andmay not offer the latest and
most effective treatments right.
Clients want to feel like yourspace is beautiful and you're
going to make them beautiful aswell.
That first impression.
You never get a chance to makeanother first impression on

(02:51):
these folks and if they walkinto your space and you haven't
taken the time to make yourdecor beautiful sounds simple,
but really look around yourentryway, the outside of your
space, the windows in your space.
Is your ceiling fan dusty orare your product shelves dusty?
Is your bedding kind of old andtattered?
Really, take a first look tosee what a client's first

(03:15):
impression might be.
It also is really important thatyour clients have a certain
level of comfort, because ifthey feel like they're not in a
high quality space, they're notgoing to think they're going to
get high quality treatmentsright and really that has an
impact on your brand's image.

(03:35):
It conveys a message of neglector lack of investment in your
business, which can actuallydamage your brand and make it
difficult to attract new clients.
They'll just go somewhere elsethat has a prettier space.
You might be the most amazingSugar Pro in town, but if your
space does not reflect that,it'll hurt your brand, I promise
, and safety concerns.

(03:57):
Outdate equipment may not meetcurrent safety standards and it
puts both your clients and yourstaff and you at risk.
This can lead to legal issuesWe've talked about this with
ASCP insurance negativepublicity and, honestly, a loss
of trust amongst your clientele.
And the last little sub part ofthis is, if you have, if you

(04:19):
update your decor and yourequipment, it can enhance your
overall client experience andmake your services more
appealing.
If you neglect it, you may bemissing out on opportunities to
upsell services and attract newclients.
So keep that decor andequipment up to date.
Take an honest look around atyour treatment room and ask you
when was the last time that youzhizh'd it up a little bit?

(04:41):
And I promise you it'll make adifference, not only in the
appearance of your space, but inthe energy of your space and
just the overall vibe andmanifestation of a beautiful
business.
Okay, number two.
Now this might seem obvious toyou, but COVID really shown a

(05:01):
light on treatment rooms andwhether or not we were actually
properly cleaning anddisinfecting the treatment rooms
.
Now, I'm not going to go downthe COVID germs aisle on this
one, but we are going to talkabout it as it relates to basics
.
So one of the most criticalreasons, of course client safety
, and if we don't clean anddisinfect the room properly, we

(05:21):
can add its core.
We can spread infection anddisease.
Now kind of back on the decorthing.
Your clients expect a clean andhygienic environment when they
visit a sugaring professional orbeauty professional in general,
and if you don't meet theseexpectations it'll result in a
loss of trust and reputation, tobe honest, because clients are
watching.

(05:41):
They're watching to see whetherthere's a, whether your space
is clean.
So take a look at not just yourcleaning and disinfecting, but
look up at I like I said, theceiling fan.
Are you wiping down the table?
Are you wiping down the bottlesin between services?
Clients are watching thesethings.
They want to watch you cleanthe space to know that they're
safe.

(06:02):
Obviously we want to becompliant with any regulatory
specifications in your state, but really, if we're not taking
care of these things, stateboard will come in and failure
to comply could results andfines and penalties and even the
closure of your business.
In California, I don't know ifyou know this, but you can't

(06:23):
hang your apron on a hook in thetreatment room.
It needs to be inside a closet,a closed closet.
Well, if you get hit by stateboard with a fine, that's money
you don't want to give to stateboard, right, like you want to
keep your space beautiful andclean and safe for all, and it
is really truly a reflection ofyour professionalism and your

(06:44):
commitment to your client'swell-being.
It shows that you take your jobseriously and you care about
providing a quality service.
And, honestly, a dirty orunhygienic environment can make
clients feel uncomfortable andprobably won't return for future
treatments.
Word of mouth is a powerfulmarketing tool in our industry

(07:05):
and a reputation for cleanlinessand hygiene can attract new
clients and it can also do theopposite, where it can repel
people away.
So I know it might seem simple, but ask yourself truly how
clean is your treatment room?
Are your cabinets shut?
Are towels hanging out?
Can you see the laundry?

(07:25):
Is your floor dusty?
Is your ceiling fan or yourwindow sill dusty?
Do you have sugar that you'veflicked on the wall and that
reflects light?
Folks?
And if your client is noticingthat there's sugar on the wall,
that's sugar from someone else'sbody that's on the wall and
they're going to notice and thatreputation will spread fast.
I promise Please do not loseyour good reputation for being a

(07:48):
great sugar pro because youhaven't made an investment in
cleaning supplies and in time tomake sure that your space is
really clean.
If you need to get a cleaningperson, please put that in your
budget and do so, okay.
Number three spending too muchtime crafting the perfect social
media posts or worrying aboutwhat other businesses are doing.

(08:11):
Listen, if you're sitting forhours going down the rabbit hole
of Instagram or TikTok andwondering how you can make
better social posts andwondering you know what viral
music you want to use or whatnot, that can have a negative
effect on your business and youdon't even realize it because

(08:31):
you feel like you're doing abusiness thing right.
So let's talk about a fewthings.
As it relates to social media,it's time consuming.
If you're spending too muchtime on this, it can take away
from other important aspects ofyour business, such as
interacting with your clients, working on marketing strategies,
budgeting for your business, ordering for your business.

(08:52):
If you are someone that isquote too busy in your business,
first place you need to take alook at is social media posts
and being on socials, especiallyin between appointments, okay
If you are focusing too much oncrafting the person.
Perfect post or maybe worryingabout what other people are
doing it, really you miss out onan opportunity to engage with

(09:15):
your audience.
You know being slow to respondor post can result in missed
opportunities to connect withpotential clients and promote
your services.
So get in.
Don't focus too hard.
Comment on people's questions.
Respond back to people in atimely manner.
It'll help with your algorithm.
Don't miss those opportunities, but don't focus too much on
crafting the perfect dance orthe perfect music to go with

(09:40):
that.
You know that that perfectunderarm sugar that you're doing
right.
If you're worrying too muchabout those things, you're
missing opportunities to connectwith those people and that's
the whole point of social media.
Also, it becomes crosses alittle inauthentic.
They want businesses.
Clients want businesses thatseem genuine on authentic and if

(10:03):
you're worried about curatinglike the perfect content, real
stories, things like that, youreally are coming across as
someone who's more interested inyour social media.
Then you are about spreadingthe good words.
So be mindful of the kind ofposts that you do.
One of the biggest things thatis hard for estheticians and

(10:23):
just beauty people in general, for humans in general, is
comparison syndrome andconstantly comparing your social
media presence to that of otherbusinesses can lead to you
feeling inadequate.
Maybe you have impostersyndrome.
It can negatively impact yourconfidence with snowballs into

(10:43):
really making it harder for youto be engaged, to be creative
and to be focusing on thoseclients.
To be honest, you know, theidea is we want to make sure
that these clients absolutelyare getting our 100% focus and
not feeling as though we don'tfeel like we're enough.

(11:03):
It's a whole other podcast thatwe can talk about.
Is that comparison syndrome?
We are so guilty of it and youknow I'm going to touch on this
for a moment because I thinkthat there's some competitions
that are popping up in ourindustry that concern me.
If we're constantly trying tobeat out or compare ourselves or
be the best compared to otherestheticians, we're really

(11:27):
taking away from being the bestto our clients.
So if you're spending so muchtime trying to one up someone or
go to one of these competitionsand be quote the best sugar pro
, your client that's waiting foryou to come back to that room.
They really don't care if youhave a trophy on the wall.
They want to experience you, tohave you present and not have

(11:49):
you on social media constantly.
You know, worrying and disturb, being distracted by other
things.
So focus on your unique voiceand your brand.
Focus on creating content thatresonates with your target
audience, not other estheticians, and stop trying to imitate
what everyone else is doing.
And don't get me wrong socialmedia is a very important tool

(12:13):
for for for promoting yourbusiness.
It's essential to strike abalance, though, and not spend
too much time obsessing over, obsessing over perfection or
comparing yourselves to others.
Focus on authenticity, timeliness and staying true to
your business, and you can usesocial media more effectively,
especially if you start to batchout your posts.

(12:33):
So, again, another podcast forthat.
This is just an overview, but Iwant you to really take note on
that and ask yourself how muchtime you are taking away from
yourself, your clients and yourfamily and your business by
going down that social mediarabbit hole.
Okay, number four in yourtreatment room, one of the
biggest things that I like tofocus on is the reality of

(12:58):
whether or not you're takingcare of yourself, so let's talk
about that for a minute.
I know a lot of you are like ohyeah, you know, I always look
nice.
I always have, you know, aclean uniform.
My lashes are on point, my hairis on point.
That's not what I'm talkingabout.
Sure, we want to make sure thatyou know you're taking yourself
and you look great and youdon't smell and you know your
skin looks good.
So your clients will understandthat if your brows and your

(13:20):
skin look good, that there'swill as well.
But we're going to go deeperand talk about we want to make
sure that you're stayinghydrated, having snacks in
between clients.
Don't stack your client load toohigh.
Are you stretching?
Are you taking breaks andstretching?
If you are not doing thesethings, it seems so basic but
really can have so many negativeimpacts on your business

(13:43):
success.
So first part on number four,if you are failing to stay
hydrated and nourished, that canlead to fatigue, which can
impair your ability to focus andperform at your best during the
appointment.
Honestly, if you are tired andjust have decreased energy and

(14:03):
focus, that will promise youresult input, sub par service
and a negative experience foryour clients, to be honest,
because they know you're not allthere, they know that you are
exhausted and just not payingattention totally to them.
They feel it.
You might not see it, but theyabsolutely see it and it'll
really affect your business.
So make sure that if you'restacking your client load and

(14:27):
trying to jam as many people aspossible, you're going to burn
out, and not taking breaks willincrease that risk.
Take breaks, really.
Work on your physical and yourmental health.
Do you need to meditate at alunch break, even if your break
is 20 minutes?
Work on your passion for yourwork and your passion for

(14:48):
keeping your body healthy andhappy, and it will ultimately
affect the success of yourbusiness.
When you're not taking care ofyourself, it really truly will
be challenging to provide thelevel of service and attention
that your clients deserve.
I promise you this will lead toa poor client experience and
reduced likelihood of repeatbusiness and referrals.

(15:09):
Of course, when you're notpaying attention to yourself,
this will negatively impact yourhealth.
You are your business and ifyou neglect your own health and
well-being, that will havelong-term consequences for you.
Whether you're going to be tightover time, your body will hurt,
your mind will be stressed, your nutrition is down and it

(15:32):
results in missed workdays, reduced productivity and
ultimately, again a negativeimpact on that business and how
you're showing up for yourclients, because we want to make
sure that you're perceived asprofessional by those clients
and taking breaks andprioritizing your needs will
really help with that.
Schedule in smaller breaks ifyou don't want to take a large

(15:54):
break.
If you take a larger break, gofor a walk, get outside of that
treatment room, because it willhelp with your decision-making,
it will help in your judgmentand it will actually overall
affect the quality of your sugartreatment.
Sounds funny, but if you reallythink about it and are honest
with yourself, are youprioritizing you, staying
hydrated, having snacks, takingbreaks and ensuring that you are

(16:18):
performing at your best, justlike an athlete would?
Really just making sure thatyour performance is top-notch
and I promise you you will seean increase in the treatment
room, which will affect yourclients and affect your business
.
Okay, so let's focus on thingsyou might not be doing with your
clients.

(16:39):
So number five in the Get HonestWith Yourself list is not
paying attention to yourclients' skin and the service
you're providing and insteadfocusing on yourself, their
personal life, your personallife, gossip events.
This will have negative impact.
I promise you, the words thatcome out of your mouth huge

(17:01):
indicator of whether or not yourclients are coming back.
Okay, if those clients have apoor client experience when they
come to see your place and theyexpect your full attention to
be on them and their needs.
When you focus the shift awayfrom the service and onto
unrelated topics, it can makethe clients feel neglected and
dissatisfied with the experience.
Now, some clients really likeyou to focus on them.

(17:23):
They feel like you are theirtherapist.
They will never admit that.
Sometimes they do, but they'recoming in and you're not putting
them as number one priority.
Maybe you're talking about howtired you are, or the weather,
or what's happening with theroyal family or whatever that is
.
That's not 100% about them.
They might not admit it to you,but they're going to feel

(17:46):
neglected.
Stop talking about yourself.
Stop talking about gossip andpolitics and religion or even
about the weather.
Small talk is fine, but getfocused on their skin, okay,
because focusing on these thingswill distract you from
providing that high qualityservice.
Sugaring requires permission andattention to detail and any

(18:10):
distractions can lead you toerrors and poor results, which
can damage your reputation andlead to that client's
dissatisfaction.
They will lose trust in youbecause they trust you to take
care of their skin and provide asafe, effective service.
But when you prioritizeunrelated topics over their skin
and the service, it just erodesthat trust.

(18:32):
While you might know thesepeople for 10 years maybe you've
been sugaring them this wholetime and you've already talked
about exfoliation and hydrationthey still are coming in.
They are coming to you for aservice.
So when they lay on your table,I want you to focus on their
brows, their bikini, their lip, their legs.
Focus on other things that youcan be sugaring.

(18:55):
Okay, not paying attention toyour client's skin, you're
missing upselling additionalopportunities and products that
could benefit them.
There might be new productsthat actually your clients
aren't even aware that you have, because you're talking so much
about their fun social life, oryou're talking about their
birthday, or you're listening totheir concerns.
I'm not saying don't do that.
I'm just saying don't missopportunities that your clients

(19:18):
don't even realize you have.
So, for example, there might bea new beautiful ingrown serum
or a new hydrating lotion thatyou're using, but a client that
has been coming to you for 10years, you might be like, okay,
susie, jump on the table, what'sgoing on this week?
Right, they're missing out onthe opportunity.
You never told them about yournew scrub.
You never had them smell thenew scent that you brought in or

(19:39):
say, hey, by the way, we'resugaring manzillions now.
Does your husband want to comein?
Or we've got this new way thatwe sugar eyebrows.
You want to bring your teenagerin.
If you are not focusing on thatservice, you're going to miss
those opportunities and, honestly, that's going to affect
your business.
I mean, that's pretty basicright as well.

(20:03):
Word of mouth is a powerfultool in our industry.
Folks, if clients get anegative experience because of
your lack and attention andfocus, they're likely to share
that experience with others andyou want to make sure that
you're not driving awaypotential customers, but that
they're actually referringpeople because you're so good at

(20:24):
what you do, not the advicethat you give about gossip or
social media or whatever.
It is Okay.
I know that you've seen a lotof these clients for a really
long time.
I know that you feel as thoughyou've all right.
They should just know likeyou've already had this
conversation with them.
But honestly, you probablyhaven't.

(20:44):
You think you have becausethey've been coming for so long.
I had a client one time and shesaid oh, you do facials.
I had to laugh like you'reserious, right, like I'm an
aesthetician.
Of course we do facials.
I've only sugared her.
But if I'm constantly talkingabout her kids and her husband
and her latest I don't knowbunco game.
Is that what you call it, buncogame?

(21:06):
If I'm only talking about thosethings, she's never going to
understand that I do seasonalfacials for folks, that I have
beautiful skincare products thatcan help with those dark
circles.
Again, prioritize your client'sskin and the service that you
are providing, no matter howlong they've been coming to you,
and don't assume as well thatthe new clients know everything

(21:29):
about what you do.
New clients don't necessarilyknow how you're removing the
hair, why sugar is better.
Position yourself as theauthority in this industry and I
promise you they will starttelling other people about the
gem of a human that they found.
Okay, number six.
One of the things that youmight find shocking is the

(21:55):
amount of people that skimp intheir service estheticians that
you know kind of just skip stepsand don't follow the proper
protocol, and that fromcleansing to hydrating and
taking shortcuts.
That can have several negativeeffects on your business.
Obviously, you can get poorresults right, you skip a step.
This is going to lead to yourclient not being so happy and a

(22:17):
negative perception of yourservices, which, of course, will
impact your business as well.
Proper cleansing and hydrationare essential for preparing the
skin for sugaring and reducingthe risk of complications such
as irritation, ingrown hairs,infections.
If you are not following theproper protocol, it increases

(22:41):
the likelihood of these issues, which can lead to actually
clients being uncomfortable andunhappy and they probably won't
even tell you right, becausethey don't want to hurt your
feelings.
We want to provide thestep-by-step protocol because
it's professional.
You're showing a commitment toproviding high-quality services.
If you take shortcuts or skipsteps, it just comes across as

(23:05):
unprofessional, okay, and itwill cause the clients to
question your expertise.
If you just lay the client downthe table, toss a little powder
over the top sugar and thenmaybe put a little cleansing
milk or something on the backend, or maybe just a little
light cheap lotion that you gotat Target, that's not showing

(23:27):
them that you are a professional, right?
So you're cleansing that skinthoroughly.
If you're drying it, dusting itwith a light, beautiful,
non-talk powder that hasbeautiful qualities, tell them
what you're doing.
Use a high-end sugar paste.
Don't make something at home.
Use a high-end sugar paste thatis going to perform beautifully

(23:51):
, not be too tacky on the skin, folks.
If you are using a paste thatyour clients feel like is kind
of taking off the top layer.
That means it's too tacky onthe skin and it is not the right
paste for your treatment room.
After you do the sugaring, ifyou do any sort of, if you're
allowed to do extractions inyour state, you should be using

(24:12):
clean utensils, as of course, weall know right.
But don't skimp on that step.
Utilize a serum for ingrownsdirectly after you're extracting
that hair, or maybe some sortof a pushtool that's come up.
Hack that skin with nutrients.
Explain to your client whatyou're doing.

(24:34):
Use a hydration barrier.
That's going to lock everythingin.
Don't leave them sticky on thetable.
Okay, this all shows that yourprofessionalism is top-notch and
people are going to feelcomfortable referring people to
you.
Remember, every step of thesugaring process presents an

(24:56):
opportunity to upsell eitheradditional services or products
that can enhance theirexperience.
If you don't follow the properprotocol, this might result in
missed opportunities to upsell.
So if there is a post-careproduct that you are using on
their skin to follow up withtheir sugar, you should be
selling that to your client andselling the benefits Not a hard

(25:19):
sell, but a oh yeah.
Do you, by the way, have ascrub for your shower, because
you know we love our scrub, orare you out of your scrub?
This is something that youshould be doing.
Post-care Maybe you sell thehydrating lotion in your
boutique when you're putting iton them.
Be sharing with them thebenefits and why you like it for

(25:40):
post-sugar.
And, by the way, we have thatout in the boutique.
Take that product off the shelfon the boutique and set it on
the front desk for them so thatthey know hey, by the way, this
is what I used on you.
More often than not, they'regoing to buy that product
because they want to keep theirresults at home.
Now, obviously, the last littlepoint about following a

(26:03):
step-by-step protocol is legaland safety concerns, and if you
fail to follow the properprotocol, that can also lead to
legal and safety concerns, because many areas have
regulations and guidelines forsugaring practices to ensure
client safety and hygiene.
If you don't adhere to theseguidelines of your state, that
can result in fines for yourbusiness.

(26:24):
So keep that treatment roomclean, keep focusing on your
clients and using step-by-stepprotocols every single time.
The other thing is, if you areusing different protocols,
different times your clientstalk.
So, for example, one clientmight say, oh gosh, she just

(26:44):
took such extra care of me.
She cleansed, you know, sheused all these different
products.
My skin felt so amazing.
Well, if you're rushing througha client that you don't know is
her friend and you just tossthem up on the table, toss some
powder on, do a five-minutesugar, you know, spritz them
with a little mist and send themon their way, they're going to
feel like and they're talkingright they're going to feel like

(27:05):
they have not gotten the sameexperience that their other
friend did, and that's going torun you into some serious
trouble.
So it's essential to followproper step-by-step protocol for
sugaring to ensure bestpossible results for your
clients and their success ofyour business.
All right, number seven, andthis one I am going to be
pounding, pounding, pounding atyou.

(27:27):
In all of our education, whichI see all the time.
This should be number one, tobe honest, but number seven is
not getting all the hairs outand having your client leave
with perfectly smooth skin.
Folks, if you are not able toget all of the hairs out, then

(27:47):
you need to go to an advancededucation class.
I do not mean to sound harsh, but there are many ways
switching up paste consistencies, using a pre-warm towel using
disincrustation gel first, somany ways that you can ensure

(28:08):
are you exfoliating first, alittle bit, like on legs, using
a super core mitt, using a drybrush to get that dry skin off
so that your sugar can seep downand wrap around the hairs?
Your clients are coming in andspending money and expecting a
smooth and hair free result fromtheir sugaring treatment.
If you fail to achieve this, they're going to be dissatisfied

(28:31):
and less likely to return andthey probably will say, oh,
sugar doesn't really get all thehairs out.
Sugar gets the hairs out.
It's your treatment that is notgetting the hairs out.
Are you hearing me?
If you are not getting theinside saver Brazilian, and
you're getting the inside ofthose lips, that's not getting

(28:51):
all the hairs out, they are notgoing to want to come back to
you.
Why would they?
If you're not getting thosepesky hormonal hairs and
educating them about the hairgrowth cycle, why would they
come back if, as soon as theyget in the car, they can see
hairs left over or feel them on,maybe your chin?
First thing Brazilian clientsdo when they go to the bathroom
is they check whether or not yougot all the hairs.

(29:13):
Okay, word of mouth is apowerful marketing tool and if
your clients are unhappy withthe results of their sugaring
treatment, they're going toshare their experience with
others and it will damage yourreputation and drive away
potential clients.
I am promising you people arecoming to try sugar and if you
do not get all of those hairsout and provide a super smooth

(29:34):
experience, they're not going tocome back and they're not going
to tell their friends or, evenworse, they'll be at a party and
say, oh yeah, I tried thatsugaring they.
You know they really can't getall the hairs out with sugar.
You really need wax.
Okay, let's take a moment.
Don't try to rush so much withyour clients and really take a
moment to get all those hairsout.

(29:54):
Get your magnifying lamp out,folks.
If you do not have one, go goget one right now.
Okay, they also.
We want to make sure that we aregetting that repeat business.
I talk about this in the 100K,the sugar weight class.
We want that repeat businessand if you're failing to remove

(30:15):
all the hairs and leave the skinperfectly smooth, honestly it
reduces your revenue becausethey're not going to come back,
they're going to feel brokenhairs and they're going to feel
like oh well, this doesn't lastthat long, why would I come back
if it only lasts a week?
Well, it's because you're noteducating them on the hair
growth cycle and you're also nottaking that hair completely out

(30:38):
, so they're going to feel itagain in a couple of days or a
week.
To them, that's not working.
Okay, you're also missing outon upselling opportunities here
too, because if you are failingto remove the hairs and failing
to leave the skin smooth and youare not providing them with
home care or other opportunitiesObviously there's someone that

(31:00):
you just cannot get clear ofingrowns, for example Then an
upsell opportunity would be toprovide a appeal treatment or a
clay mask or something on theirskin that's going to help
extract those hairs and leavethat smooth finish.
But if you're missing anopportunity to help these folks,

(31:22):
or you're actually causing theingrown hairs, why would anyone
want to come back to you?
Okay, so you can't have manyoptions for hair removal
services.
We're losing a lot of folksinitially to lasers, if you
can't deliver the desiredresults and the laser gal can
guess where they're going to gonext.
You might be the nicest personever, but that's where they're

(31:43):
going to go.
It is essential to ensure thatyou remove all of those hairs
and leave the skin perfectlysmooth.
If you are not doing that andyou are not understanding how to
get all those hairs out, youneed to be taking advanced
classes.
Take a listen, take a look atour links.
Okay, so the last thing, thelast area, is your business.

(32:04):
This is reasons eight and nine.
Number eight if you are notbudgeting and planning for your
business every day, every week, every month, every quarter, and
then for the year and the nextyear, you are going to struggle
in so many ways.
Number one without a plan, you're going to suffer from

(32:25):
financial instability.
I promise you you may find itchallenging to manage your
business finances.
This can lead to cash flowissues, overspending, difficulty
covering expenses andultimately impact your
business's financial stability.
And you're like how come Ican't afford to pay myself?
Well, you can't afford to payyourself because you haven't
planned for it.
Okay, without a clear plan, youmay struggle to allocate your

(32:50):
resources effectively.
This is going to lead towasteful spending on unnecessary
expenses.
Maybe you have too little sugarand you're spending all of your
money on shipping because youare only ordering little bits at
a time.
How much money could you saveon shipping if you were more
effective and allocated yourresources better.
If you bought in bulk forcotton rounds instead of one

(33:13):
little sleeve at a time.
Okay, nothing to plan for thefuture can result in missed
opportunities for businessgrowth.
Without a clear roadmap, youmight not be able to take
advantage of emerging trends, expanding your business or even
investing in new products orservices that could help your

(33:33):
business thrive.
We want to make sure that wedon't just work in our business.
We grow our business, and ifyou are not financially stable
and you do not have a handle onyour inventory, you will not be
able to grow.
As much as you want to getbigger, smarter, make more money
, you will not be able to grow.
Okay, having a financial planwill provide a framework for

(33:58):
setting goals and holdingyourself accountable for
achieving them and, honestly, without this structure, you're
going to find it challenging totrack your progress and make
informed decisions on the growthopportunities and to be able to
move your business forward.
Okay, we do not want you tofail.
The risk of failure will behigher without that clear plan,

(34:19):
because you're going to struggleto sustain your business over
the long term.
Might be fine today.
Might be fine in the next month, but if you're not planning for
the whole year, you cannotsustain your business.
Okay, it's essential that youtake the time to create a
comprehensive plan and if youdon't know how to do that, we
can absolutely help you.

(34:42):
Go into that link section, livemonthly coaching.
We have a planner book we walkthrough.
I hold you accountable everymonth.
There's homework.
The idea is to make sure thatyou are always looking forward
in your business and looking atthe day to day.
Okay, let's talk about numbernine and not taking advanced

(35:04):
education classes.
Now, a lot of you are reallygood sugar pros and I can
promise you that you want tomake sure that you're learning
about skin health and the latesttrends, or even classes about
running your business better andeven boosting your sugar skills
are so much that you can learn, and if you fail to invest in
your education, it can lead tojust stagnation in your skills

(35:28):
and your knowledge and probablyburnout for you.
Our industry is constantlyevolving new techniques and
products and trends.
We've just started educatingyou all about the microbiome.
I mean that's a great place tostart.
If you are somebody who feelslike your technique is perfect,
start learning more about thehealth of the skin, because you
don't want to fall behind yourcompetitors and fail to meet.

(35:49):
You know your client's needsthat change and grow.
We find out different thingsabout ingredients all the time.
You should know about thosethings.
Okay, we want to make sure thatyou're growing your business and
by acquiring new skills andknowledge you can offer
additional services, attract newclients and increase your
revenue potential.
Without that ongoing education, you miss may miss out on these

(36:09):
opportunities for growth.
You might find that becauseyou're learning so much about
the microbiome that you startdiving deeper into it as it
relates to your facialtechniques, maybe the acne
patients or clients that youwork with.
Okay, our clients are valuingus by the knowledge and the
skills that we have and if wedon't invest in our education,
it actually will kind of comeback to bite you because your

(36:32):
credibility and your expertiseis in the lack is really in the
eyes of your clients.
So we don't want to lose trustand loyalty and not be up on the
latest techniques tricks.
These folks are on TikTok.
They're watching the lateststuff.
You need to be paying attentionto those things too and really
learning.
It's all about.
Learning is for growth.
We want to adapt, to change.

(36:53):
Stay abreast of these changes, adapt your business accordingly.
You know because for some ofyou, that wax and you're not so
sure about sugar.
You should know everythingthere is to know about sugar and
sugar pros.
You should know everythingthere is to know about wax so
that you can understand how tobend and move and change with
your business.
Okay, you're not takingadvantage of education classes.

(37:14):
You will absolutely limit yourbusiness success If you invest
in, invest in your education.
You can improve your skills, you can enhance your offerings
different, different,differentiate yourself it's hard
word to say from yourcompetitors and it can lead to
increased client satisfaction,loyalty and, ultimately,
business success.
My friends, we are never tooold to learn, we are never too

(37:39):
skilled to learn and things arechanging at such a fast pace.
If you are not keeping up, youwill a burn out, b not be
providing the best service toyour clients and, c not be able
to grow.
So that's a lot Nine pointswith a whole lot of detail
behind it, right?
So listen At number one.

(38:04):
If you aren't sugaring in yourskincare business, why aren't
you?
Okay, this is, this is atechnique that we like.
It was never offered in the waythat we're doing it now, where
we have a lot of different waysto learn and it's a technique
that we like.
It was never offered.
In the way that we're doing itnow, where we have online
certification and hands ontraining, there is no reason why
you shouldn't know how to sugar, and if you're not very good at

(38:25):
it, we have advanced classes tohelp you out.
If you want to get certified,we've got that too, and this
isn't a sales pitch for thecourses that we have.
This is saying really, in thisday and age, there's no reason
why you shouldn't learn how tosugar.
You are sugaring and you'restill leaning on that hot wax
pot.
You got this.
Have the faith to put that waxpot away and start sugaring 100%

(38:50):
in your business.
Okay, check out the show notesand the links for more
information and, if you'refacing challenges in your
business, revisit these keypoints and be honest with
yourself.
Ask yourself if you're guiltyof neglecting any of these
aspects.
You don't have to tell anyone.
You have to put on social media.

(39:10):
Hey, I'm guilty of number five.
Right, I haven't been cleaningand disinfecting properly.
Just pay attention to it andstart putting it in your daily
routine.
Remember you're not alone.
So many estheticians pretend tobe successful until they make it
or they don't.
So they fake it till they makeit, or they absolutely don't

(39:31):
make it and they're done.
We want to help you avoid thatfate and build a fulfilling
career with satisfied clients.
We want you to have financialstability and be able to enjoy
every day of your job, becauseif you're not enjoying it every
day, you should find somethingelse to do.
So offer sugar in your business.

(39:53):
Work on these nine steps, getsuper honest with yourself.
I'll do a recap of those stepsin our socials, in our blogs and
on these show notes, so thatyou can really, really dive deep
and ask yourself and ask yourstaff Double check with your
staff whether these nine piecesare being covered.
I promise you it willinvigorate your career, your

(40:17):
mindset, your focus, and thatinvigoration will not only just
invigorate your clients forcoming to you and pump them up,
but it will invigorate yourbusiness and financial success.
I believe in all of you.
