To understand what’s happening in Revelation Chapter 19, we need to take a look at the Jewish engagement and wedding customs of Jesus’ day. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is the culmination where all believers – the glorified living and resurrected dead believers – finally join together to culminate the engagement that began at the First Passover, just before Jesus’ crucifixion. The Bride is assembled, raptured into the air to meet her Bridegroom, then turn to follow Jesus as He takes out His enemies on earth. The Marriage Supper begins along with Jesus’ kingdom on earth.
