Ever wondered how a brand-new microphone can jazz up a podcast experience? Well, Sonny just brought one to our setup, and we're celebrating our 100th episode with crisper sound and lively chatter. Our conversation kicks off against a backdrop of Midwest weather woes, where we shout out Ryan Hall, a YouTube streamer keeping folks informed during these turbulent times.

Curious about the universe's quirks? We’re taking you on a cosmic joyride with fast radio bursts that even the CHIME telescope in British Columbia found mind-boggling. It’s a tale of elliptical galaxies and astronomical surprises, sprinkled with our signature blend of humor and insight. And guess what? Lily joins the fun, sharing her sparkling achievements, adding charm and wit to our galactic gossip.

From whale songs to undersea earthquakes, our chats cover the vast and varied. Zipf's Law meets the deep blue, and Santorini's seismic stirrings bring a serious note to our banter. But we wrap up with laughter and gratitude, reminiscing about old TV shows, podcast quirks, and appreciating you, our fantastic listeners. Here's to 100 episodes of fun, facts, and friendship, with many more to come!

Bruce (00:00):
Hey, hey, I'm Bruce, Look out, we're at it again.

Sonny (00:05):
I'm Sonny and I'm on a new mic and I'm always at it.

Bruce (00:21):
All right, sonny, we are here again on the weekend after
a big snowstorm and we are going.
What are we doing?
We're going for the money.

Sonny (00:36):
I don't know what you mean going for the money I was
always doing a podcast.
You lied to me.

Bruce (00:44):
No, I didn't lie to you.
We are doing a podcast.
It's just a jargon.
I just said something that youwasn't familiar with, but we are
shooting a podcast, taping apodcast, recording a podcast.
However you want to look at it.

Sonny (01:02):
Welcome aboard, sonny Well thank you, bruce, and thank
you for the new microphone.
Wow, it's pretty cool.
I like it a lot.
Thank you.

Bruce (01:15):
All right, you seem a little bit loud.
I may have to turn you downsome.
Let me check the output here.
Let me turn you down one moreand we'll see what that one does
.

Sonny (01:29):
All right, all right, there you go.
I thought you turned me off fora minute, but hey guys, this is
Sonny and I'm on my newmicrophone.
I hope I sound good.
It looks cool, but hey, whoknows, bruce done it.

(01:50):
No telling what's going tohappen now.

Bruce (01:54):
Hey, thanks for the vote of confidence, geesh.

Sonny (01:58):
Well you're welcome geesh .

Bruce (02:03):
That wasn't the way I did it, but anyway, welcome aboard
everyone.
This is the ugly quacking duckpodcast, episode 100.
Yay yeah, yay, yay all right, yep, it's 100.
Um, it's been a long timecoming and we are all on new

(02:28):
mics and I just thought I'd trythe other mic out on Sonny and
see how it picked him up, seehow it worked.
I've been using this pod micfor quite a while and I finally
got it tuned up and I like itthere.
For a while I was really leeryof it, but now it seems to be

(02:50):
working good.

Sonny (02:51):
Well, you're just saying it's working good because you
like how you sound and nobody'stold you otherwise.
So I guess that's good, isn'tit Maybe?
So I guess that's good, isn'tit?
Maybe hey guys out there that'slistening being part of our
podcast, tell Bruce how hereally sounds and tell me how

(03:14):
great I am.
Listen to my voice, yay.

Bruce (03:20):
All right, don't get too confident in yourself.
But yeah, you do sound better.
I think you got a little bitmore highs, but the other mic
wouldn't pick up them highs verywell and it kind of distorted
you hard to kind of hard to pickout what you're saying.
Sometimes, Sonny, don't get madat me, but this one seems clear

(03:44):
.
I think we're going to likethis mic well, or that mic, I
should say.

Sonny (03:51):
Okay, well, I like it Again.
It looks cool and I feel cool.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm so cool.

Bruce (04:03):
Okay, well, okay, I don't know what to say to that.
You got caught me by surprise, but again, welcome everyone.
We are here on this sundayafternoon.
It is what, uh, february 16th2025, we are recording.

(04:24):
Hopefully we'll get this oneout.
We started recording two weeksago when we were supposed to.
It was a Friday morningactually and I did capture a
little bit of recording withLily, so I'll pull that

(04:49):
recording in and play it so youguys can hear Lily.
But I was planning on finishingthe recording that Sunday, like
I usually do, and, lo andbehold, didn't get it done.
So the following week I didn'tget it done, and this week I'm
running kind of late.
There's a lot of things beenhappening.
Speaking of happening, we werenrunning kind of late.
There's a lot of things beenhappening.

Sonny (05:08):
Speaking of happening.
We weren't speaking ofhappening, but it's happening.

Bruce (05:14):
Yeah, it's happening.
All right, there's been a lotof storms come through the
Midwest the last 24 hours.
Ryan Hall, the guy we listenedto on YouTube.
He was doing a 12-hour shift.
I don't know if you want tocall it broadcasting that's my

(05:35):
old history coming back but hewas streaming a YouTube video
for 12 hours talking about thetornadoes and stuff, the
flooding and the snow.
I mean, it was a major disasterin a lot of places, apparently

(06:00):
Missouri, tennessee, mississippi, I'm not sure, arkansas maybe a
little bit, but Mississippiespecially got flooding last
night.
Last I heard there was a countof three that had lost their
lives and maybe more now, butit's not very good.

(06:22):
I like him to watch because hegives you information about all
over the country, not just hisarea, but this time it actually
hit his location where he wastransmitting out or there I go
again, transmitting, but notstreaming, from his hometown, I

(06:43):
believe.
So, yeah, get a chance to tunehim in.
It's Ryan Hall, you all, Ithink that's what it is.
I don't remember real well, buthe does a lot of supporting
those that's been in disaster.

Sonny (07:10):
So if you want to do some donating to help out, go check
him out on YouTube.

Bruce (07:15):
Well, you're starting to sound like an advertisement for
him.
Well, I'm not.
I'm just.
I like him and I just wanted togive him a shout out, so maybe
other people can find him andfind out information.

Sonny (07:29):
Okay, if you say so, I will believe you, but I don't
believe you well, thanks, that'swhat I give for getting you a
new microphone right no, that'swhat you get for blowing in
smoke.

Bruce (07:48):
All right, I don't think you quite got those words right,
but anyhow, that's what's beengoing on around here the last 24
hours.
We've got a bunch of rain insouthern Illinois.
We did not get the floodingthat Mississippi and Tennessee
got.
We want to thank the Lord forthat, but we want to be in

(08:09):
prayer for those that did get it.
So remember that as we go onwith the podcast.

Sonny (08:17):
All right, that sounds pretty cool.
What are we going to talk about?

Bruce (08:23):
Well, our normal news stuff.
I picked a few headlines outabout two weeks ago Talking
about behind Wow, and I thoughtwe'd talk a little bit about
those.

Sonny (08:37):
All right, I like when you bring out your goofiness.

Bruce (08:41):
Yeah, me too.
There's enough weirdness in theworld.
If I bring mine out, it ain'tgoing to add anything to it.
Plus, it may subtract from allthe horror and destruction that
the world is evolved into.

Sonny (08:57):
Yeah, you got that right.
So this is the 100th episode, which means that we're going to
celebrate.

Bruce (09:08):
Well, I don't know.
We'll have to see what happens.
When I upload this one, they'llgive me some kind of little
certificate.
I'll probably put that onlinewith the episode.
Okay, that sounds like we needsomething to show yes, we do,
and our hosting company, buzzsprout, does a fine job of

(09:34):
that.
When you hit certain points, they'll send you a little
whether it's a certificate or aaward or something, and you can
download it, you can print itout.
You can also post it on yoursocial media accounts, which is
pretty nice.
I like being able to do allthat stuff.

(09:55):
It just shows you when you'regetting to a certain level or
when you've been in it way toolong and you're starting to get
burned out.
You know one of those things.

Sonny (10:06):
Are you starting to burn out?

Bruce (10:09):
No, I'm starting to get frustrated, though, because I
prepare and I build up and Iwant to, you know, do good
things, and then, after a week,I'm not able to do it.
I'm having to hold backbecause'm not able to do it.
I'm having to hold back becauseI'm wanting to do it every two
weeks.
Then, when two weeks comearound, I feel like I'm out of

(10:32):
practice, and it takes so longto get episodes rolling starting
, and that's when thefrustration kicks in.

Sonny (10:45):
Oh and since it's been three weeks, wow, you're a bum.

Bruce (10:51):
Oh, I knew that was coming.
I tell you, I've got you taughtvery well.

Sonny (10:57):
Oh, you think so.

Bruce (11:00):
Sure, I do.

Sonny (11:02):
All right, whatever turns your boat and floats your rock.

Bruce (11:09):
Again, I don't think you got that wording quite right,
but we'll go with it.

Sonny (11:14):
Well, you're a mighty fine gentleman.

Bruce (11:21):
Well, let's go ahead and go on with the first news story
for the News Corner on thisepisode, and we're going to
title this one uh, FRB.
Anybody know what that means?

Sonny (11:38):
I do, I do.

Bruce (11:40):
All right, what does it mean there, Sonny?

Sonny (11:44):
It means Funny radio bunnies.

Bruce (11:48):
Funny radio bunnies.
Well, not quite, but you'reclose.
I appreciate that answer.

Sonny (11:56):
Well, thank you, Bruce.
You're a nice guy, no matterwhat everybody tells you.

Bruce (12:03):
Oh, thank you, but it's actually fast radio bursts and
up to here recently, astronomershad thought they understood
what a fast radio burst was andwhere it came from, and all that
good stuff.
But a recent one they receivedactually made them question what

(12:26):
they thought they knew.
Uh, uh, uh, uh.
No, this is true.
Really a fast radio burst issomething they pick up with
their electronic equipment andtheir radio telescopes.
So apparently chime that'sC-H-I-M-E in capital letters,

(12:49):
chime telescopes that's inBritish Columbia, I think
detected the unusual fast radioburst dubbed FRB-20240209A.
Now we're just hearing aboutthis and it was detected in
February of 2024.

(13:10):
A little late, guys.

Sonny (13:13):
Yeah, they're bad as we are A little late, but anyhow,
tell us what you're telling us,don't bore us.

Bruce (13:23):
All right.
Well, okay, Let me get my micsituated.
I'm trying to get comfortablehere and this mic adjustment is
not working for me today.
Anyhow, they detected thisthing.
They detected this thing and itmade them question what was

(13:47):
going on with these fast radiobursts.
So, anyhow, what theydiscovered was this CHIME
telescope, and that is aCanadian Hydrogen Intensity
Mapping Experiment.
Well, that's a mouthful.
I think that's the reason theyended up making it chime, but it

(14:11):
had spotted.
They turned it to where thisthing come from and apparently
they discovered that it was adistant outskirts of a long,
dead elliptical galaxy.
All right, so that apparentlythat galaxy was not supposed to

(14:32):
contain anything that wouldproduce such an outburst.
I said outburst.

Sonny (14:41):
What's that mean?
You've lost me back in time.

Bruce (14:46):
Well, um, I think that's the point.
They got all these big namesand words and then, when they
come up with something, theyjust confuse everybody to death.
But I, uh was able to get ahold of this noise that they
recorded and I'm going to playit for you right now.
Are you ready?

Sonny (15:08):
I'm ready Go for it.

Bruce (15:12):
All right, everyone, are you ready for this?
Here it goes.
This is the clip I got.
I bet you thought you was goingto get to hear something fun.

Sonny (15:26):
Oh my gosh, what was that ?

Bruce (15:31):
Oh well, I didn't really get a recording of it, that was
just a sound effect that Iclipped.

Sonny (15:40):
You're a booger.

Bruce (15:42):
I know, but it was fun.
But really they did come upwith a sound effect chime, that
Canadian hydrogen intensitymapping experiment.
That telescope actually pointedover to the spot and they did
discover a burned out galaxythat should not have produced

(16:07):
any kind of radio burst.
And again, I don't know howthey know any of this, but
that's what they claim.
So there you go, that's thenews for the day.
Let's go on.

Sonny (16:29):
I'm not sure I like your jokes about news, are they?

Bruce (16:35):
really funny?
I don't know.

Sonny (16:39):
Are they funny?
I'm not sure.

Bruce (16:42):
Well, I'm not sure either , but again they're just.
Yeah, I like having fun.

Sonny (16:51):
Well, I'm not sure you're having fun, but okay, let's go
for more fun.

Bruce (16:56):
All right, sounds like a plan to me.
Well, we'll just leave thatstory behind and we'll go to our
next one.
And, sonny, this one's for you.

Sonny (17:10):
Really you did one for me Cool, yep.

Bruce (17:12):
This is about a little tiny mammal.
It's actually a native ofSierra Nevada, of sierra nevada,

(17:34):
or a small stretch of theproperty there in sierra nevada,
and it's called the mountainlittle shrew and it's only are
you ready for this?
Nine to ten inches, or nineinches, sorry, that makes it way
big.
Nine to ten centimeters inlength and weighs about three to
maybe two to three grams.
That's a little bitty fella.

Sonny (17:55):
Oh, are you calling me a little bitty fella?

Bruce (17:59):
No, I'm just thinking this is a cute little animal
just like you.

Sonny (18:05):
Oh, you're so sweet.

Bruce (18:08):
Oh, you say that now, Sonny.

Sonny (18:11):
Yeah, I do.
I say that now.

Bruce (18:14):
All right.
Well, anyway, you'll have tolook at the picture if you're
watching this or watching hello.
If you are listening to thispodcast on a podcast player 2.0
some version of that uh, youshould get the picture along

(18:35):
with the chapter.
If you're not, you can alsocatch it on our ugly
quackinduckcom website.
Yay, so there you go.
That's that story for us Alittle bit of Mother Nature
rolled up into a wildlife story.

(18:58):
Which was the interesting partabout this is not that it's a
small mammal or not, the factthat Sierra Nevada is that it's
a small mammal or not, the factthat it sierra nevada is where
it's found, but it's the factthat it's hardly ever been
captured on video or pictures.
And the uh, there was some usor us hello, uc, berkeley

(19:21):
students that caught it, and aphotographer wildlife
photographer Vishal oh my Lord,I'm not going to pronounce that
last name, but they got thepicture.
If you want to check it out, goto berkeleyedu.

(19:44):
And they got a new story aboutit.
Just look it up.
It's called California's MostElusive Mammal Photographed for
the First Time.
And boy am I tongue-tied.
Today Must be the snow.

Sonny (20:03):
Oh, it must be that you're always tongue-tied.

Bruce (20:06):
Oh, that's not true.

Sonny (20:09):
Oh, yes, it is.

Bruce (20:11):
All right, maybe I am, but anyway, go check that out.
It's a cute little mammal.
Check it out on our website.
Check it out on Podcasting 2.0app.
Just go check it out.

Sonny (20:24):
Okay, okay, we'll go check it out, okay, okay.

Bruce (20:27):
We'll go check it out.

Sonny (20:30):
Okay, bye.

Bruce (20:37):
And for our next story that I pulled out of the
internet and brought toeverybody's attention is Whale
Song.
Attention is Whale Song.
Yeah, Whale Song.

Sonny (20:50):
Whale Song Really.

Bruce (20:54):
Yes, sir, that's right, Whale Song.
There was some scientists orresearchers that have hunted for
some evidence of a pattern thatthey have thought would be
present in all human languages.
They call it three-time.

(21:18):
Let's see, I don't remember theexact name of it.
Zips, zips, law were a pattern.
The most frequent uh syllableword in the language is happens
three times, and then uh, so on,so forth.

(21:40):
The twice frequent is the mostsecond time used and then the
third is I never did understandthat quite well, but I think
what they're saying.
There's a pattern where themost common used word happened,
you know, every so often, andthen the second most common

(22:03):
would be the next one down, andthe third is the next one down.
So if they caught thosepatterns they would assume those
were the most common words.
So they looked for otherspecies using the same kind of
pattern and, lo and behold, theythink they have found it in

(22:25):
whale song, of all things.
But it's been a long time heldby many people that the whale
was a very common mammal to allof us, very intelligent, so we
won't say any more about that.
But I picked this one outbecause it's a good read If you

(22:46):
can get past all the big wordsand the big names and stuff, but
they also included a whale song, so I got a clip of that and
I'm going to play that for youguys, hopefully.
Are you ready?
Just one moment?

(23:06):
All right, I'm gonna warn youif you're um no-transcript, all

(24:19):
right, it ended while I wastrying to take a drink, boy, it
caught me.
But anyway, if you want atranslation, that's easy.
I'll tell you what that whalewas saying.
He was saying hey, charlie, didyou see that fisherman over
there on the left, the one inthe big ugly boat?
Yeah, look at that pot belly.
How funny is that?

(24:40):
Ha, ha.

Sonny (24:43):
Oh, you're not, mate, oh no, you're not believing that
stuff.
Guys, don't believe that he'sfull of hot air.

Bruce (24:51):
Well, sometimes I breathe in and then I breathe back out,
but nevertheless that's whatthat whale was saying.
Okay, that's what that whalewas saying, okay alright, we
have some good news for our100th episode.

(25:11):
This is 100, I already saidthat, but we have Lily here.
She's blessed us to come overand give us a little bit of her
voice.
I'm back Before school.
We won't get too much out ofher because I'm going to finish
the recording after I take herto school.
But hello and good morning Lily.

Lily (25:36):
Goo, goo gaga.
Hi Lily, is there a hundredthepisode today?

Bruce (25:43):
It it is, isn't that?
Cool 100, and that's reallycool good thing I'm here for
that it is.
We wouldn't want to you to missthat, because that's kind of a
what a great thing, a markingpoint we finally made it to 100.

Sonny (26:05):
Yeah, 100, 100, 100.
Good song there.

Lily (26:15):
Good song there.

Bruce (26:16):
Okay, Sonny Wow.

Lily (26:19):
That was an interesting song.

Bruce (26:21):
It was.
So my head stopped up thismorning and it's early in the
morning.
We got to go to school here ina little bit.

Lily (26:30):
And I got a sore throat.

Bruce (26:31):
so yeah, it's going to be fun, so maybe when I finish
this recording up next week wecan see what happens.
But anyway, Lily, how's lifebeen treating you?
Lovely lovely lovely how'sschool going?
Great great okay awesome youforget how to podcast.

(26:57):
No, been a while.

Lily (27:00):
Yeah.

Bruce (27:01):
A long while.
Maybe since, like October, yeah, this is almost February, this
is January.
What?

Lily (27:11):
2025.

Bruce (27:13):
Yeah, but it's the 31st, the last day of January day of
January.
Yeah.

Lily (27:24):
Yeah it's been a while.
Yeah, she's been a bum.

Sonny (27:30):
It's crazy how time flies , sunny.
I don't know about that, I justsat around all day and probably
ate food.
Oh yeah, taste the cats.
It's a fun life.
Good for you.
Yeah, he don't, it's a fun life.

Lily (27:43):
Good for you.

Bruce (27:44):
Yeah, he don't do a whole lot around here, cause problems
.

Lily (27:48):
We gotta make money.
Go to school, have brains.

Bruce (27:53):
You gotta make money.
How you gonna do that?

Lily (27:55):
I said we.
I said you gotta make money andI have to go to school.

Bruce (28:01):
Oh yeah.

Lily (28:02):
Yeah.

Bruce (28:07):
I see, says the blind man , as he's walking with a lame
man talking with a deaf man.
Okay, nobody gets that.

Lily (28:20):
I do, it's funny.

Sonny (28:30):
Sure, I think he's silly, I know he's silly yeah, silly
bird, silly bird.

Bruce (28:32):
Yeah, well, I would call you bird brain.
But uh, that's not.
I guess that's not a bad thinganymore, the way that study said
last week when we did it.
Okay, but anyhow, you has havenews.

Lily (28:47):
You said oh yeah, I have two important things okay, lay
it on us well, I'm excited, but,um, I forgot what I was going
to say well, I did too.

Bruce (29:05):
Oh, wait a minute, I never do yeah, you did what you
were going to say.
No, you never told me.
I got all star of the month ohyeah, wait a minute, cool Lily's
all starstar.

Lily (29:22):
Yay, yeah, it's cool, that's so cool.

Sonny (29:26):
Yay, yay, yay.
Play again there, Bruce.
Good job, Bruce.
I can count on you to push abutton.

Bruce (29:41):
Well, I don't know about that, but Sonny, I just
remembered something.

Sonny (29:45):
What.

Lily (29:49):
Remember when we used to call him Brooke.

Sonny (29:50):
Yeah, I haven't done that in a long time.
I guess I could Hi, brooke.

Bruce (29:59):
Oh gosh.

Sonny (30:03):
I like that actually, but I've tried to be nice most of
last year.
Sounds like a chicken.

Bruce (30:19):
Okay, Lily and Brooke.
Oh my gosh.
Okay, Lily and Sunny.

Lily (30:31):
No, I got too carried away .
I have one more thing.

Bruce (30:37):
Okay, I think you both got too carried away.
Lay it on me.
What's the second thing?

Lily (30:41):
Okay, I think you both got too carried away.
Lay it on me.
What's the second thing?
Well, some of my people heremight watch wrestling.
I don't know.
I wish, I like if I, I wish, Iwish, I wish if we had like.
No, we do.

(31:01):
I don't know what I'm saying.

Bruce (31:03):
I have no idea what you're saying.
What are you trying to say Like?

Lily (31:11):
I wish that when our listeners like watch this, like
it like responds to what I say,so it's like we do watch
wrestling or whatever.
It's probably going to happenin the future, you know.

Bruce (31:29):
Okay, let me get this straight.
I heard wrestling pop up in thelisteners, so you're talking
about wrestling.
You like to watch wrestling.
Is that what you're saying?

Lily (31:37):
Yeah, I like to watch the scripted the WWE.

Bruce (31:45):
Okay, now that makes more sense.
Sense.
And you're hoping what thelisteners will come in and say I
listen to it too.
Well, that's a good idea.

Lily (31:53):
You guys hear that I better do it.
Better do it anyway.

Bruce (31:59):
So I'm not gonna be here this weekend well, I'm not going
to be here this weekend.

Lily (32:05):
Well, I'm not going to be here this weekend.

Bruce (32:07):
Well, I'm not going to be in town.

Lily (32:08):
Oh, okay, that makes sense .

Sonny (32:11):
I'm going to be four hours away.
Well, brooke is never here.
He's just kind of physicallyhere, no mentality at all.

Lily (32:21):
Well, I'm going to the Royal Rumble tomorrow.

Bruce (32:23):
The who, what, when?

Lily (32:26):
I can look it up.
Hold on, it's the Royal Rumble.

Bruce (32:28):
The Royal Rumble.
Mm-hmm, that must be awrestling thing.

Lily (32:34):
It is.

Bruce (32:35):
Oh, okay, I have it right here we are the Royal Rumble.
I remember the announcer usedto do that, yeah years ago.

Lily (32:49):
They can't say it anymore.
I don't think why, because theperson that used to say it like
died or something oh well, Icould take his place.

Bruce (32:58):
The royal Royal Rumble Probably not, never mind.

Lily (33:03):
It was like are you ready to rumble, or something.
Yeah.

Bruce (33:06):
Yeah, yep, yep, are you ready to rumble?

Lily (33:11):
Ready to rumble?

Bruce (33:13):
Hey, hey, hey look at me there, Kenzie Lily.

Lily (33:21):
Little peace sign.

Bruce (33:23):
All right, we got it For our chapters.
We've got a picture of Lily.

Lily (33:28):
Yes, you have a picture of me.
Oh boy, he's chapter happy, nowChapter happy.

Bruce (33:37):
Well, chapter happy, happy.

Lily (33:42):
It's basically just a.
Thing.

Bruce (33:48):
A.
Thing.

Lily (33:49):
Where 30 men that wrestle there, excuse me, when 30 men
and 30 women, they all have togo in the ring and whoever
throws them out of the ring wins.
So like if you pick them up andthrow them, they're out.

Bruce (34:11):
So is it 30 men at the same time?
No, okay, two and two, and twoand two.
No, until you get rid of them.

Lily (34:21):
One after one after one.
So they go by counts, they golike one, two, three until 30.
Yeah, and there's one personthat wins over a rumble.

Bruce (34:31):
Yeah, so you got two people going into a ring.
One ends up coming out, no, no.
Well, how do you fight with oneperson?

Lily (34:40):
You have 30 people in the same ring as you.

Bruce (34:44):
Okay.
So someone's either 30, there'sone person, so you do have 30
people in there at the same time.
Yes, okay.

Lily (34:51):
And whoever throws like.
If a singular person picks themup and throws them out the ring
, they're out.

Bruce (34:58):
Okay.

Lily (34:59):
So it's like if you touch the floor then you're out.

Bruce (35:02):
It's like fighting a gang .

Lily (35:06):
I guess so.

Bruce (35:08):
Okay.

Lily (35:09):
I don't know, it's men and women.
And then there's a ladder matchthe same day.

Bruce (35:17):
Where is this going to be at?

Lily (35:19):
Indianapolis.

Bruce (35:20):
Indiana, indianapolis.

Lily (35:22):
Indiana, indianapolis.

Bruce (35:23):
Indiana.

Lily (35:24):
I guess so.

Bruce (35:25):
Okay, all right.
Well, that sounds interesting.
I think I've never heard ofthat, but it sounds like a brawl
is what it sounds like.

Lily (35:36):
It's like five hours long.

Bruce (35:37):
Yeah.

Lily (35:39):
It takes like an hour for one to finish it.

Bruce (35:45):
I'll have to look this up on YouTube because I've never
heard of this Interesting.

Lily (35:51):
If you want to watch it tomorrow, it's on Peacock at 5
o'clock.

Bruce (35:55):
I got to go to work I think I may get home.

Sonny (36:01):
Around 10.
He does every well.
I think he come in at 9.30 oneday.
It's late, he's slow, it's abummer when he works the second
shift.

Bruce (36:18):
Thank you for that explanation, Sonny.

Lily (36:22):
Thanks for the life-changing information.

Bruce (36:26):
I was going to answer.

Sonny (36:28):
Oh, you didn't look like you could do it.
You're kind of looking roughRough rough, wow Rough rough boy
.

Bruce (36:47):
It's fun to have you three or you two.
Have you two back togetheragain.

Lily (36:54):
I feel like I'm losing my mind now I couldn't tell if he
was saying rough like you lookrough, or if he was like saying
like a dog barking like a rough.

Sonny (37:07):
You know, Like he looked rough.

Bruce (37:20):
Oh, good grief.

Lily (37:21):
I think he has like a lisp , you know.

Bruce (37:28):
That's his S's.
Well, maybe I need to adjusthis mic, but not today.
Anyway, I'm glad to have youhere.
Good to have you on therecording, I hope all our
listeners are glad to have youhere.
Good to have you on therecording.

Lily (37:44):
I'm glad to have me here, I hope all our listeners are
glad to hear you again.
Yay, I'm glad to hear me.

Bruce (37:51):
Yay, how do you like that stand?
Do you like that?

Lily (37:54):
It's better than my one.
That was like eat or eat or.

Bruce (37:59):
Yeah, you mean the one that was wore out and it wasn't
set up.
Yeah, that mic's heavy.
Though that you're using it'snot a regular dynamite.

Lily (38:12):
It's a heavy dude.
At least the cats can't knockit over.

Bruce (38:15):
Well, they push it sideways constantly.

Lily (38:19):
Oh well, because that's just like the mic, you know.

Bruce (38:21):
Yeah, yeah, they drive me crazy.
I think that's why I'm stoppedup.

Sonny (38:29):
You're just full of it.
That's why you're stopped up.

Lily (38:36):
That could be, one of them , but there is a sickness going
around also.

Bruce (38:40):
A sickness.

Lily (38:42):
There's a lot of sicknesses going around, are you
saying?

Bruce (38:43):
I'm sick, could be You're sick, I know I'm sick.

Lily (38:49):
Rock on, dude, rock on.

Bruce (38:52):
All right.
Well, let's cut this out.
I'm going to have to go do myhair so we can get you ready for
school.
Yeah, I know you hate that word, but I do appreciate you coming
by and give us a quick.
I'll blend this with my regularpodcast.
This is going to be our 100thepisode, or it is our 100th

(39:14):
episode?
Yay, I'm glad to have youaboard.

Lily (39:19):
I'm glad to have me back.

Bruce (39:21):
Yes, you need to do it more often.
I will.
Okay, I'm glad to have youaboard.
I'm glad to have me back.
Yes, you need to do it moreoften I will.

Lily (39:25):
Okay, I'm officially back.
I'm officially back.

Sonny (39:28):
I see she's officially back.

Lily (39:31):
I'm officially back.

Sonny (39:34):
I enjoyed having you, Lily.
It's a great way to pick onBrick.

Bruce (39:41):
I wish you hadn't reminded him.

Sonny (39:44):
Well, there's no reminding me, I was just being
nice, but I can be mean, Brooke.

Lily (39:50):
Every time I have a mic and headphones in front of me, I
always think of your littlenickname.

Bruce (39:55):
Yeah, I wonder if the automatic transcript writer that
I use will put.
Brooke will put down how itwill spell it.

Lily (40:06):
It's probably B-R-O-K.

Bruce (40:09):
It's bad on spelling.
I used to go in and fix Sonny'sname because I always spelled
it like Sonny S-U-N-N-Y.
You know, because he wassunshiny, always made everybody
feel better about being here.

Lily (40:23):
I thought it was like that .

Bruce (40:25):
It is yes, but the automatic transcript.
Writer.

Lily (40:30):
The S-O-N-N-Y.
Yeah, every time.
Yeah, and.

Bruce (40:34):
I got tired of changing it, so I just went to Sonny
S-O-N-N-Y.
Sorry, sonny.

Sonny (40:42):
But don't make me any difference, I'm still Sonny.

Lily (40:47):
It still sounds the same, so he can be S-U-N-N-Y or
S-O-N-N-Y Sonny.

Bruce (40:56):
Yeah.
So if any of our listenersnoticed the transcript and how
it used to be one way and nowit's the other, that's what
happened.
I got tired of fighting thatautomatic thing.
It's supposed to learn, right.

Lily (41:09):
Yeah, is it AI?

Bruce (41:11):
Yeah, some.
I don't think they're reallyartificial intelligent.
You have to teach them.

Lily (41:19):
Artificial, not intelligent.

Bruce (41:21):
Yeah well, it's not artificial.
It's just a computer programlearning what we think or what
the internet thinks, and thenyou know that's what changes.
But that's not artificial.

Lily (41:36):
There's a cat out here.
The cat wants to join thepodcast.
Yeah, I hear him.

Bruce (41:39):
Yeah, that hear him.
Yep, that sounds like Winnieactually.

Lily (41:45):
It does, alright.

Bruce (41:48):
I'll be back in just a minute, but we're going to say
goodbye to Lily.
Thank you again, Lily.

Lily (41:55):
Thanks for having me.
I feel great to be back.

Sonny (41:59):
Thank you, Lily, for being here and helping me pick
on Brooke.

Lily (42:04):
We'll see you later.
Feels nice to be back, Brookeand Sonny.

Bruce (42:09):
Yeah, I'm gonna hear Brooke all the time now.
Yeah, alright, we'll be back ina little bit Yep, bye, bye, bye
, bye.
All right, I hope you enjoyedhearing Lily there.

(42:32):
Us talking with Lily.
It was good to have her overhere that morning.
It was good to have her back onthe mic.
We didn't have it set up quitewell because we was in a hurry.
We had to do it before we leftto go take her to school and it
was hard to get back to it.
We was wanting to get an updatefrom that wrestling match that

(42:54):
she went to.
Uh, we didn't make it, sohopefully we'll get her back in
here maybe next friday and we'lldo a special, just a few
minutes long uh, to get anupdate from that and see how the
rest of her uh, few weeks havewent since we had her on here
this time.
So tune in again.

(43:16):
Maybe we'll have her aboard.

Sonny (43:19):
Well, I hope so, lily's a lot more fun than you are.

Bruce (43:24):
Oh, get out of here.

Sonny (43:26):
I can't.
You got me chained in the fencerow and all I can do is flutter
.

Bruce (43:34):
Now, don't be telling stories.
Our listeners are going tobelieve you.

Sonny (43:39):
Oh, okay, I won't tell how mean Bruce is to me.

Bruce (43:45):
Oh, you're full baloney.
You run around in here, takebaths in here, you chase my cats
and you got a new microphone.
So what are you griping about?

Sonny (43:55):
I didn't say I was griping, I'm just trying to get
you in trouble.

Bruce (44:01):
All right.
Well, let's move on, shall we?
All right, I want to move on Allright, cool, all right on, all
right, cool, all right for ourlast story, I think our last
story, let me check that out.
Yep, this is our last story, news story anyway, and then
we're going to switch over tothe earthquakes and then say a

(44:24):
good evening to everybody.
But right now we're going totalk about the Santorini
earthquakes, and I think I saidthat right, and I haven't heard
any more about these.
But I'm sure there's been somemore, but there was 200.
Now, this was as of let mecheck it out what date?

(44:46):
Okay, as of February the 3rd.
So this story is quite a waysback, but it caught my attention
because it was aboutearthquakes and it gives me an
opening to go into ourearthquake report.
But as of February the 3rd, theemergency crews were deployed on

(45:08):
the Santorini Islands by Greecebecause there was a swarm of
earthquakes that were happeningon them islands.
They had over 200 earthquakes.
They were undersea earthquakes, which was recorded in the area.
Now, most of them was not over,I see, 4.5, the highest, I

(45:35):
believe, but that's theearthquake was every 10 or 20
minutes and they had peopleworried.
Now, as of now, I haven't heardif there's anything happened
more than that.
But when we look up theearthquake report we'll be able
to tell if anything major hashappened, but I know they've had

(45:59):
more since then.
That's the bad thing about metaking so long to get back a
recording, because the news Iget it's not really outdated,
because it happened and it wasscary and they was evacuating
that area.
Um, that is a very uh populararea for for a lot of uh

(46:25):
visitors and stuff like that.
Tours have a lot of tours, havea lot of visitors and stuff
like that.
Tours have a lot of tours, havea lot of tours.
That didn't sound right.

Sonny (46:36):
Of course not.
You're doing it, Gosh.
You ought to let me read thenews.

Bruce (46:42):
Well, no, I've got to have something to do.

Sonny (46:46):
Well, you can push buttons.

Bruce (46:49):
Oh, thank you, sunny.
Well, anyway, that island is uhnear a lot of other ones, it's
near, uh, greece and uh, it'svery popular for the sightseers
and for tours, and that got allstopped during this weekend.
So, um, or that time period notthis weekend, this is the 16th

(47:13):
quite a ways back.
Anyway, like I said, it runs alittle bit of fear, um, and I
don't know how hard it affectedtourism during that time, but
I'm sure that it affected somebit because they had cruise
ships.
I'm sure that it affected somebit because they had cruise

(47:37):
ships scheduled coming in andflights and ferries.
I think it had.
Let me look this up real quickthey have three million visitors
annually to this place.
So there you go, wow.
So that's why everybody wasworried and scared and wondering
if something drastic was goingto happen.

Sonny (47:57):
Oh boy, We'll need to find out if something did happen
?
Yeah, I don't know.

Bruce (48:03):
Yeah, I don't know either , Sonny.
I don't remember hearinganything else on the news.
But again, I've been busy andwe're going to go right into the
earthquake report and that willtell the tale if there's any
major earthquakes on that.
All right, sunny, are you readyto guess?

Sonny (48:26):
I am, I am, I am, I am.

Bruce (48:30):
All right and for everybody out there, that's
lasted this long through thepodcast.
We're going to do the reportand what we do is we look back
seven days and see if there'sany major earthquakes and what
the status of the earthquakesare like a 4.5, lower ones,

(48:54):
higher ones and we're giving areport of the last seven days
compared to the last time wereported.
So that's what we're going todo and sonny's going to guess if
we're over and above.

Sonny (49:07):
Okay, you're going to tell me.

Bruce (49:12):
Before you even start.
Yes, I'm going to tell you thelast weeks.
Well, actually it was aboutthree weeks ago.
We are really behind and Iapologize to everybody that
follows us, all our newlisteners.
You won't notice it, but we'lldo better.

(49:33):
We just got really busy and wejust had to take a break and do
that stuff instead of what wewas normally doing.
But we'll try to do better.
But this last report comes fromJanuary, the 26th, and the
number was 169 for all theearthquakes.

(49:54):
Sonny, did it go up or down?

Sonny (50:00):
You know that don't work.

Bruce (50:05):
All right, now time's up.
Tell us what you think.
1679 was the last count for theseven days last time we
reported.
What's the total, allmagnitudes?

Sonny (50:21):
All right, I think it's going to go up.
It went up or went down, soit's got to go back up.
I hate saying that, becausethat means we've got more
earthquakes.
However, it's going up.

Bruce (50:37):
All right, Sonny, you are right.
Did you tell me how many?

Sonny (50:41):
1850.
It was at 1679, so 1850.

Bruce (50:48):
All right, 1850 is the number that Sonny gave us and it
is 1953, 1953.
Total earthquakes for the last7 days Wow, it went up quite a
bit and that was quite a bignumber.
And for the 2.5 earthquakes andabove.

(51:17):
Let me write this down.
All right, I've got it wrotedown.
And, sonny, do you want to readthem off now that I've got it
wrote down?

Sonny (51:24):
Yeah, I'd love to Thank you, Bruce.

Bruce (51:31):
All right, no problem, here's the paper and go for it.

Sonny (51:35):
All right, kind of hard to hold it, but here we go.
The 2.5 and bigger earthquakeswas 263 this seven day period.
It was 310, wow, and we'regoing to jump to the 6.0,

(52:21):
because that's uh, there'salways a whole bunch of 4.5s all
the way up to 5.9.
And it's hard to read all those.
So what Bruce likes to do is dothe 6.0 and above only, because

(52:45):
usually there's not very manyHopefully there's not very many,
and this week it was one inEthiopia and surprisingly there
was one the last time we readthis report.
So maybe there's been lessmajor earthquakes and a lot more

(53:09):
minor, so that there would beless major ones, right, bruce?

Bruce (53:18):
right, you are boy.
You said that quite well.
I'm proud of you.
Uh, yeah, if we have minor ones, hopefully that's the belief
that they're relieving the earthof stress.
So we have a less major ones.
And when we have major ones, everybody knows that, uh, it

(53:38):
could be ugly.
It is ugly, not could be, itwill be, um.
So anyway, that's a report forthis last seven days.
Hopefully you got something outof it.
If you you didn't, I'm sorry ifyou was bored, but hey, that's
the way me and Sonny roll.

Sonny (53:56):
Oh boy, we rolling, rolling, rolling Raw hide.
I'm not sure what that was, butokay.

Bruce (54:09):
Oh, it's just an old show that used to be on TV years ago
and I liked watching it as oldcowboys.

Sonny (54:17):
Okay, tell your age some more.

Bruce (54:20):
Not doing it, not doing it at all, but anyway, we want
to thank everybody for comingout.

Sonny (54:27):
Yay, nobody come out.
There's nobody here but me andyou.
Bruce, what's the matter withyou?

Bruce (54:36):
