airplane flight trouble,anything like that.
We hope it turns out well.
Well, we know there's a lot ofstress put on this holiday and
(01:27):
it becomes very uh what Roughsometimes.
I'll just leave it at that.
Sonny (01:37):
Yeah, you better.
You better quit talking whileyou're ahead.
Okay.
Bruce (01:43):
It's good to hear you,
Sonny.
Sonny (01:45):
Well, you know I'm good
to be here.
Ha, ha, ha, ha ha.
Anyway, thanks for having me onagain.
I haven't told you that in acouple days or a couple episodes
, but yes, thank you for settingthis headset up and the mic up
(02:06):
and helping me get on here.
I'm enjoying it every time.
So, thank you and thanks to ouraudience our listeners and our
fans for coming aboard andbringing the hope and happiness
to us so we can do this.
Bruce (02:28):
Okay, wow, man, you're on
a roll this morning.
Is it the sunshine or what?
Sonny (02:35):
Oh, I don't know, I just
get excited every time we do
this.
Bruce (02:40):
Well, I do too.
It's fun.
That's why we do it.
If it wasn't fun, we would notbe doing it, and so don't stop
having fun, okay.
Sonny (02:52):
All right, Wasn't that a
song?
Don't Stop Having Fun.
Bruce (02:58):
I don't think it was
quite that, but it's close.
Sonny (03:03):
All right.
Well, I'll take your word forit all right.
Bruce (03:07):
Well, this is episode 96.
Oh my gosh, 96, let me makesure.
Yep, I wrote it down, I wantedto make sure is 96, and we're
going to title this one tis thetradition, and that's what, um,
(03:30):
a couple of things I want to dois going to talk about a little
bit about their tradition, okayI want to do that too yeah, you
can, boy oh boy.
All right, we're going to dosomething a little bit different
right off the bat.
So again, we want to welcomeour new listeners and our
(03:56):
faithful listeners, friends andsupporters today, and we hope we
don't run anybody off for thisepisode today, and we hope we
don't run anybody off for thisepisode.
Uh, today we've we're going todo something that I've been
wanting to do for a long time.
We just never actually gotaround to doing it purposely,
like I want to do.
But we've had a couple friendsthat have passed uh here, one of
(04:22):
them before Thanksgiving andthe other one just what a week
ago or so, and the services forhim was Saturday yesterday.
I mean, of course I had to work.
I didn't get to go, but that'sbesides the point.
(04:42):
The point is I want to dosomething for their honor and I
want to open up the doors ofheaven for them and ask the
Father to take care of them.
So that's what we're going todo at this moment.
It's going to be a little bit,you know anyway, and then we'll
(05:03):
move on.
But to let me to Pat and Ferris, I take this moment to hope
that you are welcome in to theother side.
As you start your new venture, may you be led and bright out
(05:28):
there for the rest of the worldwow, what was that?
well, that was my church and Ithought we'd ring it three times
(05:48):
just to represent their passingand them starting a new life on
the other side.
So we welcome or we don'twelcome.
We send them on to that newlife from this side.
Sonny (06:06):
Send them on to that new
life from this side.
All right, that soundsconfusing, but okay, I'll go for
it.
It sounds kind of good actually.
Bruce (06:15):
Well, I hope so, and I
hope everybody takes it that way
, and we will probably do thatmore for other people.
If there's any requests oranything to pass their loved
ones on to the next side, that'swhat we're going to do, all
right.
Sonny (06:32):
Yay, all right.
Well, I don't know if the yaywas good, but okay.
Bruce (06:48):
Well, I think it was good
, and being our Christmas time,
it it might be a good time to dothat too.
So for their family membersthat are going to be missing
them, let's think positive thatthey're going on to do better
things.
So now on with the show allright on with the show.
Sonny (07:05):
All right on with the
show.
Bruce (07:13):
Oh my gosh, you didn't
have to do that.
Sonny (07:16):
Yeah, I did, it was fun.
Bruce (07:20):
Okay, next time I'm just
going to hit the mute button on
your mic, so you can't do that.
Sonny (07:26):
Oh, don't you dare.
That's no fair.
I don't have a mute button.
Bruce (07:31):
Well, there's a reason
for that.
Sonny (07:34):
All right.
What is the reason?
Bruce (07:36):
So you won't mute me.
Sonny (07:42):
Oh yeah.
Okay, I understand, I'm goingto find me a mute button.
Bruce (07:47):
You stay away from my
board.
You're not allowed over here.
Just sit right where you're atand we'll be fine.
Sonny (07:57):
Oh, worried now, aren't
you?
Bruce (08:00):
Well, could be a little
bit concerned, because you have
a very weird look on your faceright now.
Sonny (08:09):
Oh yeah, I got it.
Bruce (08:13):
All right, you just
behave.
We'll do the earthquake report.
We're going to zip through it.
We're not going to askquestions or we're not going to
have you guess no, that's so funstop oh my gosh, you sounded a
little bit whiny there I did,didn't I?
Sonny (08:35):
that was pretty good yeah
, you know you're faking it
right well, of course I wantedeverybody else to feel sorry for
me, that you was being too meanto me Hee hee, okay.
Bruce (08:53):
Well, it didn't work.
I didn't have any emails pop inor anything like that, so too
bad.
Sonny (09:02):
Oh, you're checking your
email while you're recording,
but you expect people to show upon your email and it's not been
put out there yet.
Oh, good move.
Bruce (09:17):
Well, it sounds good,
doesn't it?
Sonny (09:19):
Oh yeah, it sounds good.
I just told on you.
Bruce (09:24):
Yeah, you did rotten egg.
Sonny (09:28):
Um no, but anyhow, let's
do the earthquake report.
Bruce (09:33):
Are you?
Sonny (09:33):
going to do it, or am I
going to do it?
Bruce (09:37):
Uh, do you want to do it?
You haven't ever done it.
I don't think have you.
Sonny (09:41):
Yeah, I did it once,
maybe twice, but yeah, I'll do
it.
Bruce (09:47):
All right, let's do that
and, like I said, we're not
going to do any guessing, we'rejust going to read it off the
report so we can say we did it.
And that way, next time we doit we'll have the report from
this one.
So, all right, I'll go aheadand turn it over to Sonny.
Sonny (10:15):
Oh, that was good.
Yeah, yeah, okay, all right, iseverybody ready out there?
We are going to do theearthquake report.
This is the report for the lastseven days.
As of today, just a few minutesago, we run the report and I've
(10:39):
got all the numbers.
Yay.
Bruce (10:43):
Alright, don't get too
cocky now.
Sonny (10:46):
Hey, I'm doing this
report, you just leave me alone.
Bruce (10:51):
Alright, have at it.
Sonny (10:54):
Alright, thank you.
Alright, everybody, we're notgoing to guess the difference
this time.
I'm just going to tell you.
So, last week on 12-15, we didthe seven-day report.
Now it had 2,453 earthquakesall magnitude on that report.
(11:25):
Okay so this week seven-dayreport.
We're going back seven days.
We have a total of 2,036.
Wow, it went down the one day.
I didn't guess it went down.
Boy, I can't win.
(11:46):
Anyway, we had last week 2.5above 526 earthquakes.
This week we had 2.5 and above305.
Wow, they went down too.
Okay, the 4.5 earthquakes lastweek was 104.
(12:13):
Uh-oh the 4.5 earthquakes thisweek 121.
So guess what?
Those went up.
Yee, so that kind of blows yourtheory out of the water,
doesn't it Bruce?
Bruce (12:34):
Uh, maybe I don't think
it's exact, but it still kind of
holds true, kind of Maybe.
All right, never mind.
Sonny (12:45):
All right.
Well, it's something to watchanyway.
So we only had two over 6.1earthquake at port villa and
(13:09):
then, lo and behold, they hadanother one, a 7.3 at port villa
.
The rest of them was, you know, like fives and stuff.
So we've only had twoearthquakes and they were all
all in Port Vila.
Two above six.
And if you want to know wherePort Vila is, it's between Fiji
(13:35):
and Australia.
Yay, go look on the map.
You'll see it All right.
That's it for the EarthquakeReport today.
I am Sonny and I'm here withthe Ugly Quacking Duck Podcast.
Bruce (13:58):
Good job there, sonny,
good job.
Sonny (14:05):
Thank you.
Thank you, I'll take my bow now.
Bruce (14:09):
You actually did a pretty
good job.
I like that.
Thank you for doing ourChristmas week roll of
earthquakes.
We pray there wasn't nobodyhurt on them.
Earthquakes um, hopefully noserious damages either.
I didn't get any news on it soI don't know.
I need to find a subscriptionsomewhere that has news that
(14:34):
deals with these earthquakes, because I never know what's
happening there.
I need to do some more research.
That's probably what I need todo, but anyhow, on with the show
all right, I thought we alreadydoing the show well, yeah, I
was.
That's just a phase, you knowokay, anyhow, let's go on.
Sonny (15:03):
Okay, anyhow, let's go on
.
Bruce (15:05):
What was that?
That's just the divider betweenone segment and another.
Sonny (15:12):
Oh, okay, you're throwing
all this stuff in on me.
Bruce (15:20):
Well, we used to use this
stuff before we had you aboard
and then we kind of died off andstarted other stuff and, anyhow
, I thought we'd go back to someof it.
You know, we got a new yearstarting very, very soon,
believe it or not, and uh, oh,yeah, it's coming fast and we're
going to have to do our newstuff next year, right, anything
(15:42):
we're going to do, I guesswe'll talk about that next week,
but anyway, one bit of news foryou folks out there.
Actually, there's two bits ofnews.
Anybody like TikTok, anybody onTikTok if you are, you might be
interested, because there'ssupposed to be a ban next month
(16:04):
on TikTok.
Congress enacted that bill lastyear, I think it was.
But anyway, the news is thatthe Supreme Court has now agreed
to hear TikTok's argument aboutthe ban.
So we'll see what that does andhow it plays out.
(16:24):
I just wanted to announce thatbecause you know there's a lot
of folks in this country thatuse TikTok and there's a lot of
people who believe that it's notbecause of it being
Chinese-owned that they'rewanting to ban TikTok, it's
because of the truths that comeout on TikTok.
(16:46):
So I don't know, that could beeither, or if any argument,
we'll just leave it up to youfolks.
And then, um, to enhance thechristmas spirit, we have a
serious now I'm saying seriouschristmas enthusiast.
(17:10):
He's in wyoming and, uh, whatactually happened was Wyoming
State Police or Highway Patrolis what they're called there
pulled over a Ford Mustang thatwas decorated all in Christmas
lights.
It's actually kind of pretty.
I've got a picture of it.
(17:31):
I'm going to put it on ourwebpage, so go look it up if you
want.
Apparently, they have anordinance.
That's not really againstchristmas lights, but it is
against certain colors beingused, like red and blue.
They don't want them in themiddle or towards the front of
(17:52):
the car, I guess probablybecause emergency vehicles use
those lights.
So that's why the person gotpulled over is because they had
the red and blue lights on them.
But anyway, it's a pretty neatsight.
I thought that would be goodfor our Christmas show.
Just to acknowledge that, andif you want to go look at it,
(18:16):
we'll have it on the webpage.
So there you go.
Sonny (18:28):
There we go.
That's a neat story, actually, and having, instead of having a
christmas tree, we have achristmas car a new tradition
there you go, a new tradition, new tradition.
Bruce (18:47):
This poem I'm going to
read is called Tis the Tradition
.
Are you ready?
All right, I hope you like it.
Tis the season oh, thosetraditions.
Here we are.
One more present, present, another person to go?
Oh, no, need that perfect gift, all will be happy.
It is how we grew up.
(19:08):
What a brain warp it is.
Oh, to break the traditions, toescape the lies, to teach the
next generation the realimportance.
No one wants to be left out,not to be scorned.
Yet it isn't the presencethat's sticking in our minds, oh
no, it is the family membersgone by, the friends of old, all
(19:35):
the stories we long to hear, that warm touch to feel once
more.
All the presents don't make upthe lost time, the empty beds,
the cold days all alone.
Let's have our own traditionthis year Contact a friend, a
loved one, near or far, Share amemory with them here and now.
(20:02):
Don't wait until one of you aregone.
Share a moment now, while itcan be had, and save those
presents for the very young.
Sonny (20:14):
Wow, that's I don't know.
I don't know what to say aboutthat, but um, thank you.
Bruce (20:23):
Well, thank you, um, I
don't think nothing needs to be
said, so we'll just move on fromhere.
All right, I've got a um, amoment here and I'm going to
read.
Let me get my paper.
(20:45):
I wrote notes.
I want to say hello to Cab andall those at the Seven Brew in
Mount Vernon, illinois.
Thanks for all you do and aMerry Christmas.
I'd like to also say thank youto the Rural King, friends and
family we have up there.
Thank you for everything you doand we've enjoyed the year.
(21:09):
Merry Christmas and have aHappy New Year.
I'll probably do a Happy NewYear show, so we don't need to
do that year.
I'll probably do a happy newyear show, so we don't need to
do that.
And, uh, my friends and familyin washington, missouri,
illinois, arkansas, florida andmany of the other states and
(21:30):
countries that I can't evenremember, I want to say merry
christmas.
I hope you everybody out therein listening distance part of
the show I hope all of you havea great Christmas.
I know we put a lot of traditioninto this thing.
You know we want to buy theperfect gift.
(21:52):
We want to, you know, spend theperfect time with everybody and
we put lots of pressure on usto make everybody happy with
that one special gift and wereally do forget the love and
kindness and the blessings thatwe have and they have.
(22:16):
And again, the reason for thepoem is I just wish we could all
take a moment, call our friendsup, call our family up, or
whatever it is, and say, hey,let me share a memory for you or
with you and have them shareone with you.
Just take five minutes andyou'll have something from each
(22:41):
other that you can never getfrom opening a present.
That's something that'spersonal and important in life.
So this Christmas, try it.
Even if you're having Christmastogether with family that you
have all the time, do the samething.
(23:03):
Remember something special thatmaybe you haven't shared with
them or it's been so long theymay have forgotten it, and tell
them about that moment.
And then have them tell youabout a moment.
I remember when I was young thatour families would get together
and the women would be overhere in one section and the men
(23:27):
would be in another section.
I'd run back and forth betweenthem, but they would tell
stories about when they was kidsand oh, I did this and do you
remember when this happened, andwe would learn things about our
family, about our relatives, and it was a growing experience.
(23:47):
And that stuff you took awayfrom them holidays, and you
would never remember the presentyou got when you was 10 years
old Well, sometimes you would,if it was very special or they'd
hit it on you and justsurprised you.
But you would remember thoseget-togethers, you'd remember
(24:07):
those family members and whatthey told you.
So, hey, let's try it again, let's bring that back so people
can remember.
And if we can't get togetherwith them which most people
can't because of the wayfamilies are and their work and
the hardships going in between,we do have phones.
(24:30):
Call them, try it out, see whathappens, see if you can make
another moment for the memorybank.
You know that thing up here.
Anyway, I'll get off thesoapbox.
I just wanted to say that.
Sonny (24:48):
Boy, you just love
throwing that soapbox in there.
Bruce (24:54):
Yeah, okay, rub it in.
I've got one less left surpriseand we're going to close out
the show with this.
I've been a member of Wave Lakefor quite a while now several
months I guess and I have wantedto use it.
(25:17):
And what it is?
It is a website that's puttogether for musicians and
creators and they're sharingtheir creations with the public
and you can go on and actuallypay sats.
If you don't know what that is,I'm not going to take time to
(25:39):
explain it To them to play theirmusic.
Basically, it's a value forvalue.
If you get something out ofthem, some value out of their
songs or their creations, thenyou pay value back and it's a
way for them to earn moneyinstead of going through the big
(26:00):
groupie things and getting alltheir money taken from them.
So I've been kind of a supporterand I'm going to play one of
the songs so we can close off.
So again, I want to say MerryChristmas to everybody.
Thank you for being part of theshow, thank you for listening.
(26:22):
Hope you wasn't too drove crazyand I'm going to let Sonny say
good evening and what we'regoing to do.
I'm going to play this song andwe're going to close the show
down.
So this episode 96, is going tobe closed.
After the song.
Sonny (26:42):
All right, it sounds like
fun.
I haven't heard this song, yetYou'll have to tell us what it's
about.
But bye everybody.
73, and that verse says that.
I'm not sure what that meansbut, 73, and we will talk to you
hopefully next week, episode 97, coming up next week.
(27:08):
Bye.
Bruce (27:11):
All right, sonny, thank
you, that was good.
Yep 97's coming up next week.
Bye, all right, Sonny, thankyou, that was good.
Yep 97's coming up next week.
Let me make sure, yep, we're at96 this week.
So there you go and this song.
Again, I want to say bye toeverybody.
73,.
May the Father's blessing gowith you this holiday and
(27:33):
remember, even though we say I'mnot going to ruin everybody's
tradition, but I guess I am thatthis holiday is the tradition
of the birth of the Son of God.
It's not the son of god, it'snot.
(27:59):
Um, if you figure it out, it'sactually probably in spring,
which a lot of people believe.
It's april the first, andthat's why they call it april
fool's day, because they don'twant anybody to figure it out.
I don't know, I'm not thatintelligent, but I'll tell you
it's not in the middle winter,it's not next to the sauces.
So anyway, but hey, whatever, don't let it ruin your
(28:20):
traditional happiness, okay, anyway, this song is the
christmas.
Let's be this Christmas, let'sBe Free.
It's by Richard Greaser, it'sout of his Bugle Weekly album
(28:42):
and it's very good, a little bitdifferent, but it's kind of got
a Christmas spirit.
So I'm playing this one for you, we're going gonna say goodbye
with this song, so merrychristmas everybody listening to
(29:06):
