We are going to jump straight into the topics of
discussion today, starting withthe release of Unraid 7 Beta 1.
It is finally available foreveryone to take a look at
because the Beta 1 is public andyou yourself can download it
and check it out if you so wish.
Some of the things you canexpect to see immediately right
off the bat is the brand new UIon the dashboard page, which I

personally like a lot becauseyou can customize it and change
things around to better fit theweb UI itself.
Some more important things likethe system process activity you
can easily see by bringing thatto the top of the page and even
information about the system,things like RAM, the Docker
image size and other littlemetrics like that.

Speaking of releases, there'sbeen a new vulnerability
discovered with OpenSSH thataffects a multitude of versions
of OpenSSH, ssh that affects amultitude of versions of Open
SSH All the way up to 9.8p1, ismy understanding, and there are
some versions in between therethat are not affected.
But for all of us Unraid users,this does actually affect us,

and now you would assume thatyou could just upgrade from 6.12
to whatever the latest versionis, and that might actually get
rid of that vulnerability foryou, but unfortunately it will
not.
This will also affect anyonewho downloads the unraid 7
public beta 1 operating system,because that version of the
operating system is actually 9.7something and that specific

version has the vulnerabilityinto it.
So what can you do in themeantime if even upgrading your
operating system won't protectyou from this vulnerability?
Well, quite simply, the easiestway is to just not open SSH to
the internet.
That means keeping that portclosed, port 22, or simply not
port forwarding any port to SSHin the meantime.

Or you can go into the Unraidoperating system itself and
disable SSH altogether and youshould still have web UI access
to the server.
So nothing should truly beaffected and for now that's
really all you can do and justsit tight until we get future
updates from Unraid to patchthis vulnerability for us.
But again, there's really noneed to worry as long as you're

not opening SSH to the internet.
On the subject of tools LimeTechnology the creators of
Unraid for anything we didn'tknow is hiring a full stack
developer.
This is a full time, fullyremote position that is
currently available today foranyone who thinks they have the
skills to meet the job.
Some of the responsibilitiesinclude design, develop and

maintain robust GraphQL APIs tosupport the functionality of
Unraid OS software.
Collaborate withcross-functional teams to
understand the requirements andtranslate them into technical
specifications, blah, blah, blah, blah blah.
Troubleshoot and debug issuesto ensure smooth operation.
Of course, the biggestrequirement, which isn't listed,
is to be able to pull off thesweet look of a Hawaiian T-shirt
, and that is actually a bigdeal and a real requirement that

they need to include on theirrequirements list.
Moving on, other requirementsare proven experience with full
stack developer with a focus onAPI development, proficiency in
TypeScript, javascript, nodejsproficiency or ability to learn
PHP, familiarity with Linux, ofcourse, and the ability to bash
script, and there's a wholeboatload of other requirements
in there.
And if you think that you meetany of these skill sets or

requirements that are posted, besure to actually apply on
Unraid's website to help getyourself a job, and the benefits
are actually quite competitiveas well.
So you may be wanting to take ashot at this, even if you only
meet 80% of the requirements or80% of the skills.

Wow, that's amazing.
Some of my best memories ingaming are because of Xbox Live
or, more actually, because ofsomething called Xbox Connect.
That allowed us to create anetwork across the internet and
I could play Halo 1 on theinternet with my friends through
a pseudo LAN network and, again, some of my best memories came

from that.
