Speaker 1 (00:10):
Hello and good
evening.
Welcome to the Unraid Digestshow.
I am your host, stefano, and Iwill be talking you guys through
all the things that happenedduring September, the first of
which is that the Unraid teammanaged to hire not one, but two
full stack developers.
This is great news because thisshows that Unraid is managed to
hire not one, but two fullstack developers.
This is great news because thisshows that Unraid is growing at
a healthy pace and they'recomfortable enough to hire more
than one person for the fullstack development position.
(00:33):
These two developers willhopefully create a more powerful
API, which should help speed upthe operating system
development process, sohopefully we see some change in
the coming months.
Poojit is one of the newdevelopers to join the Unraid
team.
He started off as a systemadministrator and worked his way
into software development forJohn Hopkins Applied Physics Lab
.
He's worked on everything fromspace projects to AI-driven
(00:54):
policy.
He's obviously one of usbecause he came across Unraid
while searching for an easy, elegant solution for his
self-hosted projects.
Mike is the other new developerto join the team, who has a
background in web design as wellas software as a service
development and, just like therest of us, he, too, also
discovered Unraid whilesearching for the perfect NAS
solution.
If you're at all interested inlearning more about Mike and
(01:16):
Poojit, you can head over to theUnraid forum to read a full
biography about their likes, interests, hobbies and the
skills that they have to offerto Unraid.
And other than that would youlike to know more?
The Unraid team recently cameback from a short-lived trip to
London where they spent sometime bonding as well as getting
to know each other from some ofthe team members that live
overseas, and unfortunately Ididn't get to go to London again
(01:37):
, so that seems a little unfairto me, but that's just me
speaking.
Many a moon ago, when I wasjust a wee lad in the year of
our Lord Gaben, 2005, tom hadposted on a home theater forum
about a project called Unraid, and over the next 10 years or so
, many contributors came andwent and much beer was had.
(01:58):
And then in 2015, unraid hiredits first full-time developer,
and then from that point forward, unraid continued to grow to
the point where we know and loveit.
Today there is a new episode onthe Uncast show featuring Joshua
from IAM Systems.
In that episode you will learna ton of information about home
automation and other Internet ofThings technology and the IAM
(02:20):
Home product that offers Unraid.
If you've been watching theUnraid Digest show at all, then
you know that Unraid 7 no longerrequires you to have an array.
And guess what?
There's also a video that youcan check out that I've created
that will show you how to dothat on the link station in one
and you can actually do this onany server, for that matter and
also I can show you how to usethe link station in one to also
(02:40):
do some video encoding, which Ithought was pretty cool.
So be sure to head over andcheck that out if you're at all
interested in learning how toset up Unraid without an array.
There is a new page on Unraid'swebsite called Unraid Community
Partners.
That features content fromfellow creators and contributors
, oems that offered Unraid OSalongside of their hardware, a
spot to get into touch withUnraid for OEMs or anyone maybe
(03:00):
looking to use Unraid for aproduct that they plan to sell,
and posts that go into detailabout other businesses that use
Unraid on the regular.
Rumors are circulating andpeople are beginning to wonder
when Unraid 7 Beta 3 will bereleased.
Specifically, people like Ienjoy creating videos over on
Reddit is asking when it mightbe released.
(03:20):
Well, I don't have an officialdate for you.
It could happen within the nextcouple of days.
Now, don't get too excited.
That is not official and thingscan definitely change, but that
is something I may have justcaught wind of while also
perusing around on the interwebs.
You know, people aren't reallyreliable anyway.
So, with all that being said, Iwant to thank each of you for
liking and subscribing to theUncashed show and showing your
(03:43):
