A departed loved one can give you the right age, the right ailment, the right family details and still leave you feeling oddly empty. That tension is the heart of what we’re unpacking as mediumship evolves from “proof” to presence, from a checklist of evidence to an experience that lands in the body and helps ease grief. I’m sharing what I’m seeing shift in the mediumship marketplace, both from the spirit side and from the student and teacher side, and why the next era of spirit communication is about emotional truth as much as accuracy.

I tell a story from a recent live mediumship demonstration where my guides gave me one clear instruction: let spirit lead. The night moved faster than I thought possible, and then an unforgettable grandmother stepped in and basically refused to follow a script. She insisted on doing the reading her way through story, warmth and energy, then backed it up with just enough evidential mediumship to lock it in. The final “feels like home” detail hit so hard because it was literal and it reminded me what great readings actually do: they reconnect people to the living feeling of love.

From there, I get real about what clients are asking for now, why “facts” aren’t the main differentiator anymore, and why so many mediumship students are hunting for deeper energetic skill, clearer channels and a more embodied approach to spiritual development. I also call out the darker side of the industry: teachers who profit from keeping you a perpetual student, stuck in self-doubt and rigid structures.

If you’re a psychic medium, a developing medium, or someone who books readings for grief healing, come listen and then tell me what you think. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

SPEAKER_01 (00:00):
Hello, everyone.
Welcome back.
It is the Unity Code podcast, and I am going to talk about
mediumship today.
I'm going to talk about what Isee as shifting in the
mediumship marketplace, bothfrom a dead people perspective
and also from a student andteacher perspective as well.
So I think I'm going to go inthat order as well because it's
going to just be thismind-blowing example of how the

(00:24):
space of mediumship is reallyshifting, at least in my
experience.
And then those of you that arevery interested in mediumship,
let's talk about this.
Let's talk.
Like bring me, bring me thestuff.
Bring me your perspectives aswell, because I only know what I
know and I know there's a lot onthe marketplace, and you see it
on the marketplace because Idon't know what happened, but

(00:46):
everybody's a medium now, whichI think is fucking awesome.
I think everyone is a mediumnow.
Um, and I love that so manypeople are waking up to the fact
that they're mediums.
It's fucking incredible.
But also with the new wave ofpeople who want to learn
mediumship and want to learn howto connect with spirit, there's
like it's like new level, new,new devil.

(01:07):
And I think there's a lot ofthings that are shifting and
changing in the marketplace withmediumship.
So I'm just gonna give a quicklittle story from my
perspective.
I just feel called to start withthis story, and it's not
entirely relevant to where I'mgoing, but I think it is at the
same time.
So I started.
Let me I hosted, not started, Idid start it too.

(01:30):
I hosted a mediumshipdemonstration a couple weeks ago
locally, and I didn't get thenormal pre-demonstration jitters
or the pre-demonstration deadpeople that I normally get.
They generally left me alone, which is pretty atypical.
Usually my electronics will getall fucked up, my lights will go

(01:50):
crazy, I won't sleep, I'll havedead people all around me all
day.
And it's like chaotic in myenergy.
And so I personally asked themto back off.
I told them, you all know who'scoming through in what order,
because they do.
So can you all just back off andlet me enjoy the time before the
session so I'm not energeticallydepleted by the time I get

(02:11):
there?
So fair enough, they theyallowed me to do that, which was
very lovely.
And because I had askedeverybody to back off, it felt
very eerie to me to not becompletely bothered before
mediumship demonstration.
And so I started to get a littlenervous, if I'm honest with you,
and I asked my team, my spiritguide team, and I was like, what

(02:33):
do you want me to do about this?
Is it gonna go okay?
Like I feel like it's gonna gookay, but can you give me any
guidance on what to expect sothat I feel a little safer in my
nervous system before I go inthere?
And it was so interestingbecause the three things I
heard, the three words they toldme was let spirit lead.

(02:55):
Let spirit lead.
And I'm like, okay.
Like, okay.
And so the theme of the nightended up being letting spirit
show me what was possible.
And holy shit, did they show mewhat was possible?
So it was lovely because as Istarted into the demonstration,
about half the room were totalnewbies to the mediumship space.

(03:18):
Half of them had been todemonstrations before.
And I talked about this, how I'mjust seeing a lot more newer
people in the space.
So I gave the spiel, I gave thethe whole um, this is what this
is how it comes in, this is whatto expect.
This is, you know, let me knowif it sounds like your departed
loved one, right?
And what was so cool is in themiddle of this relaying the

(03:39):
introduction, I said, normally Ilike to get enough evidence to
place the spirit and then bringit straight into the message and
read as many of you as possible.
But out of out of my mouthtumbled the words.
But that's gonna depend on whoyou are.
Because if some of you need moreevidence, I'm gonna bring more

(04:01):
evidence.
If some of you need moremessages, I'm gonna bring more
messages.
And so the reading is gonna betailored to you and what you
need.
And I'm just gonna go withwhatever spirit tells me.
So spirit was already setting meup to be outside my comfort zone
in terms of the readings, andlike we're setting the audience

(04:22):
up and also me up at the sametime to essentially expect the
unexpected.
And and I did anyway because Iwalked in and Spirit was like,
You're gonna read nine people.

SPEAKER_02 (04:31):
And I'm like, nine people?
Nine in an hour and a half, nine.

SPEAKER_01 (04:39):
That's a 10-minute, no, less than that, because I
have to do the intro, which isabout 10 minutes.
So it's like nine minutes perperson to do a reading evidence
message, which is incrediblyfucking fast.
And like if you train in thisspace, you generally know you
want your demonstration readingsto be like seven, seven to

(05:00):
eight, seven, eight, nineminutes long.
So I was actually like rightwhere quote unquote the best in
practice, whatever the fuck thatmeans, uh reading duration is.
But typically they're not thatfast.
If you actually do this work, you know they're typically not
fast.
They're, you know, it might belike 10 to 15 minutes each.
So, you know, generally I getthrough six, maybe seven on a

(05:24):
demonstration night, but I gotthrough nine people.
Nine.
It was fucking crazy.
They predicted it.
I did it.
And like it was so can I justsidebar for about a minute or
so?
It was really interestingbecause I must have done six by
about 15 minutes, you know, inthe first hour, hour and 15
minutes.

(05:44):
I had 15 minutes left, and I wasjust like, you're not gonna
fucking, I'm not getting tonine.
And oh my god, did spiritfucking prove me wrong?
Because the last reading, threepeople came in.
It was for three people whowould come in together.
And I was like, oh, there's therest of the line.
Fuck, they were right.
Spirit's always right,everybody.

(06:04):
So a little sip of my waterthere.
So as we as I talk about spiritsetting me up for something
different, like it really was avery beautiful and very
different night.
And I'm gonna talk about this inother podcast episodes, but I
had a very, um, a very toughreading that I had to deliver
for somebody whose uncle had haddied by suicide.

(06:27):
I'm gonna bring that, like I'mgonna talk about that one in a
future one.
It was a really, really lovelyand difficult message to deliver
in a group, in a group setting, because it was a very personal
and deep message.
Um I I talked about the threethat I read at the end, right?
That was very, very different.
I I essentially pulled onethrough and then the other two,

(06:48):
that was very interesting.
Um, but the one I want to gointo for this session today is
this beautiful, amazinggrandmother, technically
grandmother-in-law, that camethrough in the demonstration.
And it was really interestingbecause I was, she was about
halfway through the session, thereadings.
I'm going, I'm cooking, like I'mjust I'm flying through these

(07:12):
readings.
And then all of a sudden, this Ilook over in my mind's eye, by
the way, to my right, and I seethis grandmother walking towards
me.
She is old, she is kind ofhunched over with a cane.
Um, or she's got her hand on onething.
I still can't figure out if itwas a cane or a, you know, one

(07:32):
of those things that theyshuffle on, but she only had one
hand.
So I'm gonna, I'm gonna say itwas a cane.
And she's shuffling in to myright, walking towards me very
slowly.
And so I'm saying, okay, I'mseeing this, you know, elderly
woman, this grandmother comingforward.
She is hunched over, she has acane, she's shuffling very
slowly, you know, she's at veryelderly in age.
I think, I think I said she's80, 89, um, 98, one of those

(07:57):
two.
I can't remember.
And so I see her in my mind'seye, and then she's gone.
And I was like, well, I stillfeel her.
I know she's still here.
And so I'm just standing therewaiting.
And all of a sudden, I just getthis sudden urge to sit.
She's like, sit down.
Almost like, okay, okay, I cansit.
So I go and sit in the chair, and I'm literally just waiting

(08:20):
for this old woman to startbecause I know she's there.
I've already called her out.
There's nobody else there, butyet all around me is blank
energy.
I don't know what's coming in.
And so I'm sitting and I'msitting and like no fucking word
of lie.
Probably about a minute or twogoes by, or at least it feels
like two minutes has gone by.
And I'm like, I'm just waitingfor her, everybody.

(08:42):
I'm literally just waiting forher to tell me what she wants me
to know.
And so I'm like psychicallytrying to reach.
And I was like, nope, notsupposed to reach.
I'm not pulling it psychically.
And so eventually I just hear, and everything's blank in my
mind.
Like I'm not seeing anything,I'm not feeling anything.

(09:03):
But all of a sudden, I hear inmy mind like it's like a woman
around the corner yelling at me,saying, I want to do this my
way.
And I said, Oh, okay.
As long as you fucking come anddo this, I don't fucking give a
shit how you want to do this.
We'll do this your way.
That doesn't bother me.
So I tell the audience, I'mlike, so she wants to do this
her way.

(09:24):
And so this is gonna look maybea little different than have you
seen before, but I'm just gonnalet her go.
And so, with that verbalagreement, that verbal verbal
yes, I will do this her way.
She started it on this beautifulstory about how she would be the

(09:46):
safe space for you, about howshe would be the person that you
could bring your problems to.
And she was a whole vibe.
Like she was a whole vibe.
Like you would just show up, andher energy and her love would
just envelop you, and it wouldmake you feel safe and it would

(10:07):
make you feel loved.
And just being in her presencewas essentially to have your
energy fixed.
And so as you bring yourproblems to her, she doesn't
actually solve your problems, she just reflects the problem
right back at you so that youwalk away with the empowerment,
knowing that you solved theproblem.

(10:29):
She did not want to solve theproblems for you because she
knew that you had the answer.
And so she would always turn theproblem back on you, always have
the questions that allowed youto self-reflect and find your
way through the issues you werecurrently going through.
And when you left her space, youfelt again loved, empowered,

(10:52):
complete, whole.
She would give you the feelingof you being invincible just by
being in her presence.

SPEAKER_00 (11:06):
And the last thing she said is that I'm just like,
she feels like home.

SPEAKER_01 (11:09):
I don't know how to describe it.
She feels like home, this woman.
And she might have given acouple of other pieces of
evidence, like three kidsmarried.
Um, I can't grandkids.
I can't remember the other, butit was like very I was like,
great, we did it your way.
Give me a couple of pieces ofevidence because this sounds so

(11:30):
broad.
And so she did.
She humored me a little bit.
And then when I looked up andsaid, like, who can take this
beautiful grandmother figure?
This woman in the front row wascrying, sobbing.
And she said that once for me.

(11:50):
And it was such a beautifulreading because as this woman in
the front row was explaining, this is exactly who this woman
was.
Like it was down to a T, thefact that she wanted to do it
her way.
She's like, everything was herway.
And she went through and said,You're absolutely right.

(12:11):
You would go to her with yourproblems.
She would, she would help you.
She would, she would point outthat you had the answer.
And she just gave you thestrength to find your way
through the problem yourself.
She did validate the otherpieces of evidence that I bought
through, that I brought through.
And then at the end, I was like, but what was with the feels like
home?
And she said, We bought herhouse.

(12:35):
We live in that house now.
We live in her home.
Like mind blowing, right?
So, so as this beautiful womanin the front row is relaying
this information, I'm startingto cry and I'm laughing at the
same time.
And in my head, this grandmotheron the other side is fucking

(12:55):
touting herself, being like, Didyou oh did you see what I did
there?
I'm so good.
She is so proud of herself.
You can't make this shit up whenyou work with spirit.
Like it's unbelievable howhilarious they are.
And so, like, it was so funnybecause then I had to be like,

(13:16):
now she's telling me how shethinks how amazing she is
because she was able to bringthis through in such a perfect
way.
And she just started laughingand said, Yeah, that's
definitely her.
So this was part of the magicthat happened when I don't even
want to say I let spirit leadbecause it like I guess I did

(13:37):
technically, but like spiritasked me to let them lead, and I
went along with it.
Is it was a totally differentreading, right?
It was a story, it wassurrendering to whatever the
spirit wanted to say, and it wasthe perfect evidence that didn't

(13:59):
just evoke the validation of whothis beautiful woman was, but it
gave the feeling of who thisgrandmother was.
Like in the room, people werecrying.
Like it wasn't just the woman inthe front row, it was everybody

(14:20):
because everyone could feel thelove and beauty that this
departed grandmother had thatshe gave the people she loved.

SPEAKER_00 (14:33):
It wasn't it wasn't a reading, it was an experience.

SPEAKER_01 (14:40):
And I think this is really a beautiful segue into
the changes that I am seeingworking with spirit, working
with mediumship in this space.
Because I think people arewaking up to the fact that

(15:03):
there's a different and betterway to read departed loved ones,
and that departed loved ones donot just want to be a checklist,
they want to be felt, they wantto show their love, they want to
relay information at a wholefucking new, elevated level that

(15:25):
makes it not just a reading, butan experience, a memory, right?
An immersion into who they are.
And can I just be honest withyou about what it feels like to
deliver?
I so we just talked about whatthat was like to receive, to

(15:47):
deliver the messages of a again, very divine masculine style
reading of the checklist.
Of you know, I have a grandma,she's she's 89, she's uh older,
she's you know, physicallykeeled over, she has a cane, she

(16:08):
you you live in her house, youum, she helps, she helps you
solve your problems.
You always go to her witheverything, you have her house,
right?
Like that is a whole differentfucking reading than the one I
just gave you, than the one youjust sat through.
Because what it does, it it isit gives you like that divine

(16:29):
masculine checklist way of justrelaying evidence after evidence
after evidence.
It doesn't resonate with theenergy of the spirit, of the
soul that we were bringingthrough.
It doesn't create that emotionalconnection that people need when
they're going to a mediumshipreading because they need that

(16:49):
connection.
They need to be reminded theirloved ones are still with them.
Um, having the checklist is notenough nowadays, it's not good
enough.
Is it profound and fuckingimpressive?
Absolutely yes.
Isn't an experience?
No.
And I'm willing to fight you onit if you disagree.

(17:10):
I don't bother me.
Doesn't bother me because theperson who is giving the
reading, it is a whole differentfeeling when you have a
checklist versus when you have astory and the energy kind of
embedded in it as the medium.
And so I again I think this iswhere a lot of mediumship is

(17:35):
going.
And I'm as I'm pausing, aseveryone who works with me
knows, like seven things arecoming in at once, which is why
I have the awkward pauses.
I'm like, which one of thestrands do I go after first?
And so I think that people whoare booking these readings,
clients of mediumship.

(17:56):
And I'm seeing this trend withmy own clients as well, is
they're looking for the feeling.
They're looking for the grief tobe resolved through knowing
without a doubt that their lovedones are still with them, by
feeling the energy of them, bylearning how to recognize the
signs that their loved ones arewith them.

(18:18):
Right.
They are looking for thatexperience because logic, they
know that mediumship is real.
Logically, they know their lovedones are with them.
Logically, they already see thesigns.
So we're not actually provinglife after death anymore because
most people walking into myspace already believe it.
Otherwise, they wouldn't bethere.

(18:39):
Like, can I be honest with you?
I I'm okay with skeptics.
That's not what I'm talkingabout.
Because I think you can beskeptical and still believe, but
still want the evidence.
That's fine.
That's absolutely fine.
But people are already generallybought into the fact that life
persists after death.

SPEAKER_00 (19:02):
So now we want them to feel that their loved ones
persist after death.
That's the difference.

SPEAKER_01 (19:12):
And so I'm seeing more and more clients that
already know the signs, alreadyknow their loved ones are with
them, already hear the messageson the radio, already see the
cardinals, already see thebutterflies, right?
They already know their lovedones are with them.
But they're looking to recapturethat same feeling they had when
they were alive.

(19:35):
And so this is, I think, reflective of that's how it all
connects.
Thank you, Spirit.
Spirit's always got my back.
I'm like, I don't know how I'mgonna connect all these strands.
Here it is.
And so what I'm seeing aremediumship students, dare I say,
flocking to me, that are lookingto understand that next level of

(19:58):
energetics in this work.
And I'm talking about studentsfrom very big name teachers that
are looking to understand andcome at mediumship from a very
different perspective.
And like I I think this is thisshakeup is wonderful, whether
you're coming to me or you'regoing to a different teacher.

(20:19):
Like, kudos, amazing.
Choose the path that works foryou.
But I am just seeing this needto go deeper in the work, this
need to go bring the energy, bring the feeling, bring the
connection to a whole differentlevel.
This need to, again, as we'vetalked about in the larger state
society, shift and transform andbring down the existing

(20:42):
structures and learn thatthere's a different and better
way to do this work.
And so I am seeing studentsrecognizing that they've
probably learned what theyneeded to learn from some of
these top-tier teachers, whichby the way, I learned from too.
So there's no judgment in that.
But also, how can I bring thisdown a level?

(21:04):
How can I bring in the energy, the feeling, the emotion into
this work?
How do I make this an amazingfucking experience for my
clients?
How do I connect deeper as amedium?
How do I make how do I make mychannel so much clearer so that
I make this an experience for myclients?
Because as more and more peoplecome into this field, let's be

(21:27):
honest with you, there's mediumsliterally everywhere right now.
The differentiator is no longergoing to be the facts, it's
gonna be the feeling.
It's gonna be the experience.
It's how you're going to standout against the crowd.

(21:48):
Not because this is aboutmarketing or trying to sucker
people in, that's not what Imean.
It's really because that's howmediumship should have always
been done.
It should have always been anexperience.
It should have always been adeep fucking connection.
But I also think that the energyin the collective is ripe for

(22:08):
this now.
Even though it was always meantto be at this level, I feel like
people are starting to finallyfucking understand it at this
level, finally able to accessspirit and an energetic clear
sentience level that you canamplify for your clients, which
is what I do.
And so I guess for those of youthat are students, aren't we

(22:36):
always eternal students of thiswork of mediumship?
And you feel called to check outa different teacher, do it.
There is a reason you're feelingcalled.
There is a reason why someoneelse is popping up in your
energetic field and you'reknowing spirit is sending you

(22:56):
the right teachers for you inyour next evolution.
They always have with me, alwayshave with me.
I always knew who my nextteacher was going to be because
Spirit sent them to me or showedme something or led me their
way.
And so follow that because thereis a next evolution for every

(23:17):
single one of you out there.
There's a next evolution for meout there.
And so I am, you know, I'mtaking classes all the time.
I work with my team all the timeon new ways to read mediumship,
new ways to expand this field, new ways to do it differently,
more effectively, more feelinglythat is going to, you know,
revolutionize this field ofmediumship as we fucking know

(23:40):
it.
And so the question is, are youlistening to that calling?
Are you listening into theexpansion of your energetic
field?
Are you looking for the wayswhere you can deepen your work
or do it differently than youhave before?
Not because your clients areasking for it, but because

(24:02):
spirit is showing you the way.
Just like they showed me theway.
Let spirit lead and see thefucking magic that happens when
they lead you down the path thatyou didn't know even know
existed.

(24:23):
There is so much aboutmediumship that is about to be
uncovered, that is about to beexplored and seen from a whole
different perspective.
And I know that because I canfeel it.
I can fucking feel it.
And my team keeps showing memediumship is like child's play

(24:46):
compared to what is coming downthe pipeline in the future.
Don't get caught in the existingstructures of how other people
are telling you to do this work.
Because those people, thoseteachers, like to keep things in
boxes, like to make it easy andpredictable, like to teach you

(25:10):
the same thing over and over andover again, but in different
contexts, which is not expandingthe field of knowledge for you.
It's not expanding the way thatyou look at the work, it's just
expanding the depth in which youare looking at it within their
own existing structure.
Like, can I even?
Oh, son pisses me off so much.

(25:30):
Pisses me off so much.
Um, go, they're telling me.
Because a lot of these teachersare making money by making you a
perpetual student.
A lot of teachers are making alot of money thinking that you

(25:53):
are not good enough, making youthink that you're not good
enough to take on clients forthis work.
Now, I think it's a beautifulprecipice.
I use that word again, orbalance from being ethical and
making sure that you are aquality reader.
Absolutely, yes.
Yep, I get it.
But also, there's a lot ofteachers out there who are going

(26:14):
to point out your flaws and notyour strengths.
Point out your deficiencies andnot your accomplishments.
Point out how you have more workto do because a lot of them are
emotionally and financiallyinvested in you staying a
student.

SPEAKER_00 (26:39):
And you don't need to be, right?

SPEAKER_01 (26:41):
And so this is this is why I look at the work the
way that I do, is because I amso sick of the students that are
eternal.
I'm so sick of the teachers thatcreate the eternal students, and
I'm so sick of the lack ofinnovation and empowerment that
exists at a spiritualpractitioner level, at a
spiritual teacher level.
These are the spiritual egosthat I try to warn literally

(27:03):
everybody about.
And are they valuable?
Yes, absolutely.
I think they all have theirplace, but I also need you to
recognize when you've grown pastit.
I need you to recognize whenit's just not worth your time
anymore or money anymore.

(27:23):
You're not actually growing andnot actually expanding it
because that's when you're like,go your book is overdue, go
return it to the library, gofind a new book.
Okay, go find a new teacher, gofind a new methodology, go find
a new way for you to come atthis work.
Because if you're not continuingto grow and expand and challenge
yourself, you're not doingspirit the justice that they

(27:44):
deserve in continuing to deepenand expand your spiritual
connection, your impact in thisphysical world.

SPEAKER_02 (27:59):
Okay.

SPEAKER_01 (28:02):
And I guess the last thing that I want to give you is
try it different.
If you are a mediumshippractitioner, why don't you just
open up to spirit and say, showme, teach me, lead this reading
the way that you want thisleading to be read.

(28:22):
What like what do it?
What are you waiting for?
That's how I practice, right?
Let spirit lead.
Because they know where thiswork is going.
They know who you're becoming, they know what you need to work
on, what you need to expand on.
And this is why I structure mypractice circles the way that I

(28:44):
do.
Just show up.
Just show up.
Let spirit show you what youneed to work on.
Let spirit help you grow andexpand because that's their job.
They can see the much biggerpicture.
They can see the unityconsciousness and how all of
these mediumship students andteachers are all moving towards

(29:05):
an evolution that we are yet tosee or realize here in the
physical world.
But if we keep living in the oldways, following the old
teachers, following the samestructures, the same systems
that created you, you will notgrow into the future version of
you.
You will stay stagnant andprobably just like me, because

(29:27):
I've been here, stay stuck inthis vibration and not want to
say, stay in this space.
And I think this is a wonderfullast reflection for this episode
is because I have heard and seenso many people that enter this
work and leave this work just asquickly.
That enter the mediumship space, become practitioners, maybe open

(29:52):
a business and then fucking exitlike they like an Irish exit.
They're just gone, they justdisappear.
And I think sometimes it's notfor them.
But I think a lot of timesthey're not allowing themselves

(30:12):
to grow and expand in the waythat would keep this work
absolutely fucking magical forthem.
So if this work is not feelingmagical for you right now, it's
an invitation to go deeper andto expand your horizons in this
incredible life fucking changingwork.

(30:34):
So, how are you gonna expandtoday?
And if you feel called to talkabout energy, to expand your
horizons, obviously I'm here asa teacher if you need me, but
uh, you know, I want to makesure you feel called to me.
I say this stuff, and I'm like,if you I don't even know if I
need to say this.

(30:54):
Like, if you, if you, if thisresonated with you, send me a
line.
Let me know how it felt, and ifthere's a way I can support you
in your expansion, I am alwayshere.
Always here to fucking supportyou.
Always innovating with spirit, always doing things the way that
we are meant to grow into.
All right.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Take care.
