SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hi, this is Midi Roger Steve Pellethier.
I'm the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking intoWeathermanPod.com on your
Tuesday.
Yes, the 28th day, the month ofOctober, and the days quickly
going through for this month.
Looks like we have some EastCoast weather moving up.
We've got a major area of lowpressure that's going to drift
further north into the westernportions of the Carolinas right
now and then over the northeastby this Thursday.

(00:23):
The drift further northwards, spreading some rain into the New
York, Philadelphia, Baltimorearea, and even up into Boston by
later on Thursday, into Thursdaynight.
And then high pressure starts tobuild in for the last day of the
month on Friday, Halloween.
We get into some great weather, but cooler conditions expected
for the Eastern Seaboard thisupcoming first weekend of

(00:44):
November, Saturday and Sunday.
In the meantime, for today,it'll be sunshine to the north,
increasing clouds to the south, with some showers moving in from
the south.
Or high temperatures between 55and 62 at night.
Some showers are likely southand then overnight, south, we
mean Philadelphia, down to aboutBaltimore, D.C., and down into
the Virginias and the Carolinasas well.

(01:05):
And then during the daytimetomorrow, it'll be variably
cloudy.
The possibility of some showersmoving up from the south to the
north.
And our high temperatures forthe day, also 55 to 60.
The rainy day is going to be onThursday.
Heavy rains, possibly even somethunderstorms, and one to two
inches of rainfall possible onThursday as that storm gathers
strength and moves offshore.
Frontal system goes by.

(01:26):
Maybe some early showers Fridayon Halloween Friday.
We get into clearing, breezy, and it's going to be cool.
Highs in the middle 50s.
Fair weather from both Saturdayand Sunday of this upcoming
weekend.
Category 5, Hurricane Melissa isnow south of Jamaica and south
of the eastern portion of Cubaand western section of the

(01:46):
Dominican Republic.
And it does look like uh, and inHaiti Hispaniola, it looks like
uh the storm is going to crosspossibly just over the eastern
section of Jamaica and theneventually over uh eastern Cuba,
with the net result being uhtremendous force of wind and
rain and stormy conditions asthat system moves on through.

(02:09):
Uh, we also see it getting veryclose to Bermuda at around 8
p.m.
on Thursday evening.
So it will go over the Bahamason Wednesday morning and
Wednesday afternoon, thenfurther north, and then forward
speed increases should be overBermuda on Thursday, then off
into the North Atlantic as itdiminishes parallel to the
eastern seaboard this upcomingFriday into the upcoming

(02:29):
weekend.
Rapidly moving into the NorthAtlantic.
So a major category fivehurricane due to affect Jamaica
and head on, it looks like, anduh also just over the eastern
portion of Cuba, westernHispaniola over Haiti, and then
across the Bahamas, Bermuda byThursday at 8 p.m.
If you're flying today, thegovernment shutdown continues,

(02:51):
and of course, that's uh goingto cause delays all across the
nation.
I'm dealing with weather delays, and weather delays probably over
Charlotte, maybe easternsections of North Carolina,
Raleigh to maybe Virginia Beach, and possibly just around
Richmond.
And then as you head towardsAtlanta and down to Central and
South Florida, the weather lookspretty good.

(03:11):
Good weather, no problems inHouston and Dallas, although
Dallas will have somethunderstorms earlier in the
day, so there could be somedelays going into East Texas
during the morning hours onTuesday, Tuesday afternoon.
Things start to improve.
Also looking at some heavyweather in Kansas City, central
Iowa, just about all over thestate of Minnesota, so it will
be raining and also somethunderstorms in Minneapolis,

(03:31):
St.
Paul.
West Coast is dry.
San Diego, Los Angeles, up toSacramento and San Francisco,
and even uh to NorthernCalifornia.
It does look dry weather.
Another low pressures movinginto the west.
That's going to cause rain inPortland and Seattle.
Later tomorrow, and uh alsoduring the daytime on Thursday
as well.
The Pacific Northwest under arun of storms moving in from the

(03:52):
northern Pacific.
I'm in your Major, Steve Pellethere, and I am the weatherman.
A lot of information today.
We'll update Melissa during thedaytime tomorrow.
And then we are looking aheadtowards some uh rainy weather on
Thursday.
Talk to you then.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
