Halloween Weather Update For The Northeast

Hi, this is meteorologist Steve Pelletier,
and I'm the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking into theWeathermanPond.com for your
Friday.
It's the 31st day of October,Halloween Friday.
And it looks like our weathersituation is improving across
the Northeast.
Many places between an inch anda half and three inches of
rainfall, the heavy rains thatmoved into eastern PA, Maryland,
New Jersey, New York, LongIsland, and even into central

and southern New England as thestorm continues to move away
from the area.
We're going to get intoimproving weather today.
Sky's becoming partly sunny inmost places.
It'll be windy, though.
West winds at 10 to 20, guftingto 45.
So a wind advisory is in effectfor many places.
On your Friday, temperatureswill range in the middle to
upper 50s.
It'll be clear at night down toabout 40 to 45 in the 30s across

the Pocanoes, the Caskills, andthe Finger Lakes of New York,
and even into Central PA.
Southern portions of uhPennsylvania down by uh West
Virginia and the Maryland downby Hagerstown on I-81.
That's where you're going tohave temperatures very close to
the frost mark towards daybreakon Saturday morning.
But a Friday night nighttime lowis for the most part in around

Uh Saturday's looking mostlysunny at 58 for a high, also
about uh 55 to 60, lower 60s insome of the warmer spots on
Sunday.
Looks like good weather for thefirst couple of days of the
month of November.
Monday, partial sun, but maybesome showers at night with the
next cold front, but basicallydry right into the middle of
next week.
Now, if you're flying today, atleast as far as the weather is

concerned, there's a lot ofdelays, a lot of cancellations
because of the continued uhbudget problems.
And uh well at this point, itlooks like the weather is not
going to be a major factoracross the Northeast, except for
the fact that those strongwest-northwest winds when you're
dealing with LaGuardia, JFK, andNewark, it always causes

tremendous problems.
And even more delays areexpected for Friday afternoon,
Friday evening with those strongwinds in the New York area.
Up around Boston, similarsituation.
Uh the rains are now moving awayfrom the area quickly, but the
gusty northwest flow willcontinue there, and that will
make for some isolated uh delaysor cancellations because of the

strong winds up in the Bostonarea.
Of course, aside from the factthat they have uh cancellations
due to the budget problems bythe federal government.
Uh, as you look further to thesouth, it looks like good
weather in D.C., Richmond, andRaleigh, also looking at dry
conditions at Charlotte and inthe Atlanta area, no problems

expected for there.
And in the Midwest, highpressure building across Ohio
and into Illinois.
That means good weather forChicago, a few showers,
otherwise clearing inMinneapolis, St.
Paul.
Dry weather for at leastSouthern California, clouding up
in the Pacific Northwest.
