SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hi, this is Video Roger Steve Pellethier, and I am
the Weatherman.
Thanks for checking in to theWeathermanpod.com on your
Wednesday.
It's midweekend.
It's the twelfth day of themonth of November, quickly
approaching mid month.
Looks like our weather situationcontinues.
Very chilly.
Readings.
My goodness, across central andnorthern New York State and in
Vermont, there was quite a bitof snowfall.

(00:20):
Lake Placid across throughPlattsburgh over to North and
South Hero, the ChamplainIslands in the center of Lake
Champlain, and also down inBurlington, between five and ten
inches of snow, actually eightinches in uh South Hero and also
in Burlington.
And also up in Stowe, they hadseveral inches of snow.
So this skiing season probablystarting to gear up now.
Looking for the possibility ofmore snow just east of Lake Erie

(00:45):
and north of the Finger Lakesand up into the western
Adirondacks during the daytimetoday as well.
Also, some heavy lake effectsnow showers or squalls now
occurring across Lake Huron andeastern shores of Lake Superior,
northern shores of LakeMichigan.
And it looks like that willcontinue to cause light snow and
snow showers all across northernPennsylvania, western, and

(01:07):
northern New York State duringthe daytime today.
Yes, we went over the uh sinkingof the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The anniversary was a 50-yearanniversary on Monday.
And it was this type of weather.
You had the strong northwesterlywinds causing these storms that
develop over the eastern portionof the Great Lakes, and uh of
course resulted in uh disasterthere.

(01:29):
But uh now, of course, nowadayswe have excellent weather
information so that uh they canbe warned and uh avoid such
circumstances.
Uh elsewhere across the nation,we were looking at uh generally
dry weather in New York City, but just blustering.
Even New York City had some snowshowers during the daytime
yesterday.
Um I saw up one period of timein central and northern
Manhattan where the winds werehowling out of the

(01:51):
west-northwest, and it was abouta visibility of maybe two miles
in some snow showers and squallsthat went through the city.
Well, a lot of it all acrosscentral and northern New Jersey
and in Pennsylvania, but duringthe daytime today, a little bit
more partly sunny, a little bitdrier.
Still gusty winds during theafternoon, though, with chilly
temperatures in the forties tonear 50 degrees.
Seems like it went right from uhmid-autumn all the way into

(02:13):
early winter.
And of course, the days aregetting shorter each and every
day.
Dry weather down in Atlanta, dryweather in Miami.
It looks like nice weathercoming our way during the
daytime tomorrow as well, buttemperatures still chilly, 40s
to lower 50s, 40s to lower 50son Friday and Saturday.
Probably the next chance forsome rainfall that'll be
arriving sometime Saturday nightand Sunday this upcoming

(02:36):
weekend.
Again, if you're travelingtoday, of course, the shutdown
is going to gradually end duringthe next 24 to 48 hours.
It's going to be really tough toreally get back into gear.
Uh so uh we'll probably be backin full strength by the weekend
or early next week.
But weather-wise, it is going tocause delays in the New York
area because of the strongwesterly winds and problems with

(02:58):
runways and scheduling.
Uh, same situation up in theBoston area.
Philadelphia always has a goodtime in this type of weather
situation.
Get that one big runway rightalong the Delaware River and
never have uh major problems asfar as inbound or outbound
there.
Uh Baltimore and Washington alsolooking pretty good
weather-wise.
Atlanta and Central and SouthFlorida.
Good weather expected there.

(03:19):
Houston to Dallas, Chicago, alldry weather.
West Coast, looks like rainmoving into San Francisco,
Portland, and Seattle, but dryweather and San Diego and LA,
they may get some showers overthe next 24 hours.
I'm in your Roger, StevePelletier, and I am the
weatherman.
One thing we did have an AuroraBorealis last night, and is also
a possibility for tonight.

(03:39):
Uh, folks all across thenorthern tier, northern uh,
let's say Oregon, north up to uhWashington, across and through
Idaho, Montana, uh, northernWyoming, the Dakotas, Minnesota,
the Great Lakes, and even intonorthern Pennsylvania and New
York State and New England.
You have a good possibility ofseeing those northern lights
again tonight, probably sometimebetween about 8 p.m.

(04:01):
and midnight.
I'm India Major, StevePelletier, and I am the
Weatherman.
Hope you have a great day today.
Talk to your first thingtomorrow.
See you then.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
