Speaker 1 (00:00):
So I just uploaded our new promotional video for
2024-2025 and as I was exportingit, I was thinking that the
audio might work as a podcast.
I talk about all the differentmembers of the band, some
frequently asked questions.
So here it is.
This is the audio ripped fromthe video our new promotional
video.
If you want to see the video, obviously it's better check it
out on YouTube or our Facebookpage or Instagram.

(00:22):
My name is Brian McDermott andI'm a wedding band in Ireland
since 2006.
The aim of the band is to keepthe floor full all night.
It doesn't matter what we've toplay.
We want everybody to walk awayat the end of the night thinking
that was the best wedding theywere ever at.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
She took my arm and I don't know how it happened.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
We meet before she said she can't look back.
It's a six piece band.
I'm the lead singer and I playa little bit of saxophone.
On guitar and vocals, we've gotKeev, and he's an unbelievable

(01:10):
guitar player.
He's great at getting the rightguitar sounds for each song,
which is always important andespecially when you cover so
many different genres of musiclike we do.
On female vocals, we've gotAving.

(01:35):
She joined the band in 2022 andhas made a massive difference.
It's great having the femalevocals in the band and it really
means we can cover any song wewant and I think it makes it a
lot more interesting for thecrowd.

(02:00):
On bass and vocals, we've gotMick, and he's been there since
day one.
He's actually never missed agig since 2006.
He's played with loads ofdifferent bands down through the
years and has a massiverepertoire of songs.
On keys, we've got Ornn.

(02:20):
He's the youngest member of theband.
He's an amazing piano playerand he brings a great energy to
the stage.
On drums, we've got MickeyBelton, and he'd be a bit of a

(02:41):
legend in the drumming world.
His tempos are always rocksolid.
Getting the right tempo is veryimportant, especially for
hardcore waters or drivers, andhe nails it every night.
90% of our work comes frompeople who've already seen the

(03:15):
band live, so it's important.
Every night we go out to put onthe best show we can, saying
that, though it probably is oneof the best jobs in the world,
there's no better feeling thanwhen you're standing up on the
stage.
The floor is full andeverybody's enjoying themselves
because of the music that we'replaying.
Our set is a non-stop mix ofeverything from Walters, jives,

(03:45):
rock, pop, 80s, anatondas, bigin the charts at the minute, and
because it's non-stop, we don'treally give your guests a
chance to sit down, so they'llend up dancing and stuff that
they usually wouldn't get up forus.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Superbreed some routine.
Yeah, let's hear it.
Hold me.
Oh my, you make me high, socheck your loving woman.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
When people stop.
When people stop, every weddingis different.
Some weddings like an extra bitof Jive and a Walson.
Some weddings don't like thatat all, so we'll just leave it
out and put in an extra bit ofPop or Rock or whatever the
crowd are into on the night.
Every wedding band in Irelandprobably has a similar set list

(04:31):
on their website, but I thinkthe important thing is how you
play the songs and when you playthe songs during the night.
Every wedding is slightlydifferent, so you do need to
adapt your set depending on thewedding.
All our footage online is 100%live.

(04:54):
I know sometimes the videos canbe a little bit rough and ready
, but I like it like that.
I think if a couple of books isfrom Australia or the UK or
Canada, I'm confident that whenwe're playing their wedding, the
band they hear on the night isexactly what they heard online
when they booked.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah, I'm a broken hearted losing the tape.
You are dead.
Why did I ever let you go?
Mama better than me.
I'm alive.
I can never let you go.
Yeah, you better run.
You need your joy.

(05:56):
You can hang out with all theboys.
It's fun to know why I amscared.
I love you all.
It seems to me I've got afeeling.
This is so mean.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
We do offer a band and disco package.
We use all the same equipmentfor both, so it means there's no
break in between, and becausewe're using the band's PA system
for the disco, you'll alwaysget the best sound.
We really do play all types ofmusic, everything from Walters,
jives, rock, pop, charts, 80sand everything else in between

(06:41):
you ready.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
We get together about once a month to rehearse and go
over any upcoming first dances.
It's also a great chance.
If any of the band have an ideaof a new song that might work
in this session, we can run itand see if we can fit it in
somewhere.
We're also fairly ruthless withcutting songs, so if a song was
big in the charts a few monthsago, we learned it and put it in

(07:19):
the session.
No matter how much we like thesong, if it's not filling the
floors the way it used to, we'rejust going to cut it straight
away.
When it comes to your firstdance, we can learn your first

(07:42):
dance song, no Problem, andgenerally we ask for about one
month's notice.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
I just agree.
I travel the world at aseven-seat.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Set up time is about 25 minutes, but sometimes it can
take the venue a few minutes toclear the stage area, so good
rule is always one hour fromwhen you stand up from the top
table to walk them back onto thefloor for your first dance.
Hello and welcome along toanother episode of the Wedding

(09:38):
Band Show with myself, brianMcTermitt.
A few years ago, I started apodcast called the Wedding Band
Show.
The idea behind the podcast isto get on band members from all
different bands around Irelandto give advice to people who are
looking for a wedding band.
I've other suppliers on as well, but the main focus is always
wedding bands.
The videographer and yourphotographer will be there,
still on site.

(09:58):
They're probably booked upuntil your first dance, I think.
To sum up the band we're justsix friends who genuinely like
to play all different types ofmusic.
We hit the studio any chance weget and we've recorded a lot of
songs that you wouldn'ttypically call wedding band

(10:19):
songs, but we just love alldifferent types of music.
If anybody is looking for awedding band, they can send me a
message anytime.
Our website isthebriamictermittbandie, or they
can find us on Instagram, tiktok, facebook, youtube and
