Ashley's essay, "The Thing About Your Daughter's Virginity" introduced her style of blending storytelling with advocacy to bring awareness to topics like sexual assault, single motherhood, divorce, and parenting while Black. Ashley's bylines include Essence, Mother Tongue, Insider, Narratively and Gloria to name a few.
