Episode Description
ADD seems to be buzzing again and I thought it'd be nice to hear a take from a professional. We tackle grief, pride, self diagnosis and if you found this mini helpful, check out the full episode (7.6.22 #7) with me and Seerut Chawla.
Seerut is a psychotherapist based in London, trained at the University of Roehampton in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. She works using an integrative model (which means incorporating different therapeutic styles) depending on clients and circumstances. Her main modality is psychodynamic psychotherapy which is derivative of the psychoanalytic tradition. The basic premise of her work is helping to understand what has happened, so that to better understand what is happening in the here and now, those can then make meaningful change in their lives.

This one's just a little alone time. You and me. We're going to dim the lights, poor a glass of wine - for those of age - and explore the depths of love. From a queef to the face and fishing poop out of a lover's butt. This one knows no bounds. ALSO, BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, I kinda wrote a book: Your Best Chance At A Good Day I say kinda cos it’s really a daily checklist and notebook (so not really a book). I wanted to simplify a daily practice to give myself and others the best chance at a good day, because I believe there are 5 elements that are the key to a great day. The book includes a brief interlude - by yours truly - with insight as to why these elements are key to a successful day and on the top of each page is the checklist, so you can stay on track. The rest is open for you to fill out. Feel free to get a copy for yourself, a friend or family member. I reckon it's perfect regardless of where you're at on you journey toward your best self. Ben Singh PhD x Exercise As Medicine
Recent research out of the University of South Australia has shown that exercise is 1.5 times more effective than counseling and the leading medications for mental health. I COULDN’T believe this when I heard it, so I looked it up and then emailed the head researcher: Dr Ben Singh. This weeks episode is with him, and he’s telling us about his research on over 100 thousand people and the astounding results. You’ll also be amazed at the minimum effective dose for exercise and how uncomplicated it is to do your mental health a favor by moving your body. Ben Singh obtained a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology, Masters Degree in Research, and PhD at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Brisbane. His Masters and PhD research involved investigating the role of exercise for improving health outcomes among women with breast cancer. Following his PhD, he completed a postdoctoral role within the exercise physiology and neuromuscular fatigue laboratory at the University of Lyon and University of Jean Monnet (France). Presently, as part of the ARENA research centre, he’ll be contributing to research around the beneficial effects of physical activity on health-related outcomes. Start a new healthy habit today.
