Speaker 1 (00:00):
what up, what up.
It's time for another round ofthe nerdy news.
I'm gonna go ahead and blazethrough all these news this time
around and first of all let mesay it's a second anniversary
for the nerdy news and we'regoing to eventually do these
weekly, starting in 2026, butfor time being let's just stick

(00:22):
to the monthly format.
You know I'm saying so withoutfurther ado.
Let's go ahead and blazethrough all the news that we got
for this time around, startingwith movies.
A five and a half hour streamrevealed who we can expect to
appear in avengers doomsday.
A whole bunch of people likemaybe we're gonna get some more
folks, but I'm trying to managemy expectations on that.

(00:45):
Snow White and the SevenDwarves is now lower on the IMDb
score than the number onelowest rated film, all time
disaster movie.
Not surprised?
I'm not surprised, honestly.
We finally get an officialtitle For the fourth Spider-Man
movie From Tom HollandSpider-Man Brand New Day Coming

(01:09):
in theaters July 31st 2026.
Okay, okay.
And meanwhile we're going tohave Spider-Man Beyond the
Spider-Verse Coming in June 4th2027.
Nintendo just used this new appto announce that the release
date for a live-action Legend ofZelda movie is going to be

(01:30):
March 26, 2027.
A Minecraft movie, shatteredBox, offers records of $157
million domestic and $301million globally, the biggest
debut ever for a video gamemovie adaptation.
According to reports, multiplehollywood studios are interested

(01:51):
in a film adaptation of splitfiction, the new hazelight co-op
game that just launched earlier, and ketchup entertainment,
which handled the release of theDay the Earth Blew Up, a Looney
Tunes movie, and Ferrari.
They announced that they haveacquired the rights to Coyote vs

(02:12):
Acme, the film famously shownby Warner Bros, so that movie
might get its theatrical releaseafter all.
And finally, for movies, afterannouncing a hell divers movie,
sony has also announced thatthey will reboot starship
troopers.
The movie reboot is a newadaptation of the 1959 sci-fi

(02:34):
novel rather than a remake ofthe 1997 movie that heavily
inspired hell divers.
Uh, that is it for movies.
I'm more excited for thespider-man movies and, of course
, uh, avengers, doomsday.
Uh, congratulations to aminecraft movie.
I might review it at some point.
I'm also looking forward tothat legend zelda movie and I

(02:58):
might check out split fiction atsome point.
At some point now, televisionseason eight of brick and morty
will be premiering on adult swimon may 25th, a live action
scooby-doo series exploring theorigins of scooby and in the
gang, and it's in works atnetflix from the eraverse and
riverdale's greg for a liveaction series on disney plus

(03:23):
amazon.
God of war tv series has yet topremiere but it's already lined
up for two seasons, accordingto showrunner ronald d moore.
The crunchyroll and any placehave jointly established a new
anime planning and productioncompany, hayate incorporated,
comprised of anyplexlex andCrunchyroll staff.

(03:45):
Hayate will develophigh-quality anime titles for
the Crunchyroll streamingservice.
That's all I got for televisionnews.
As a Rick and Morty fan, ofcourse I'm ready for Season 8.
I did not get around to reviewSeason 7.
I'm not gonna around to reviewseason seven.
I'm not gonna lie.

(04:06):
So what I'm probably gonna dois review season seven and eight
as they come, but consideringhow normally rick and morty have
like 10 episodes each, sochances are rick and Morty will
probably conclude at like I'mguessing around August.

(04:30):
I was going to review season 7of Rick and Morty in August
anyway.
So yeah, I'll do season 7, 8,maybe the anime in August.
Yeah, the live action Scooby Dooseries.
Honestly, I just hope it isleagues better than Velma.
That's all I'll say on that andthe fact that Riverdale uh,

(04:53):
greg Berlanti's on this that'sbecause Velma wanted to be
Riverdale.
So fucking bad that I'm likekinda hoping that it's like,
yeah, see there, this is thereal origin story.
Um, you know, like with a pupnamed scooby-doo and mystery
incorporated.
Those like I consider thosereal prequel stories.

(05:15):
Like it could be differentuniverses, of course, but like
better than zelma.
Honestly, digimon beat yeah,I'm kind of glad that Digimon is
getting its comeback.
Between this and Digimon Time, stranger I'm really hoping for
more honestly, and Power Rangersgetting a live-action series.

(05:37):
I think it's just a new season, but who knows what they got
planned for this one.
That's all I pretty much gottasay.
On television, gaming, nowgaming this is where it gets
kind of thick.
So bear with me on this one.
So Nintendo unveiled pricepoints on the Nintendo Switch 2

(05:58):
console, mario Kart Worldconsole bundle and a slew of
accessories to complete yourround out to your Nintendo
Switch 2 experience, so to speak.
Last I checked on it's own theNintendo Switch 2 is $4.50, but

(06:18):
you know people were talkingabout tariffs and inflation and
who the hell knows what theactual price is.
It's bad enough that pre-ordersgot cancelled too, so it might
go up higher because they'resaying that the parts to make
the Nintendo Switch 2 is gettingmore expensive, so we'll see.
But it was revealed that thedigital edition of Mario Kart

(06:43):
World will cost $80.
But if you're getting theNintendo Switch 2 console and
the whole bundle, it'll be $30less.
While we're at it, I will saythat Kirby's Air Ride is getting
a sequel.
They say a sequel, but I feellike it's more like a remaster
or like a port to it.
There's going to be a newDonkey it Like something like

(07:05):
that.
There's going to be a newDonkey Kong game, donkey Kong
Bonanza, dust Bloods, which islike a FromSoftware multiplayer
game.
Legend of Zelda, hyruleWarriors is getting a sequel.
Age of Imprisonment NintendoGameCube titles are finally
coming to Nintendo Switch Online, like I was been saying, saying

(07:27):
that should have been a thing, but it's going to Nintendo
Switch 2.
So that's my main reason why Iwould get Nintendo Switch 2 at
this point.
A cute thing that Hori accessorymanufacturer Hori is doing they
are having the officialnintendo switch to camera shaped

(07:50):
like the piranha plan frommario, super mario, and I
thought that was kind of cool.
I might get that.
You know when I start streamingand shit.
And there is a new featurewhere you can like share virtual
game cards that treat digitalgames more like physical ones,
including lending them out to afriend.

(08:11):
Uh, while buying digital gameson switch consoles will in the
future, be treated as a virtualgame card that can be loaded,
ejected and shared to otherswitch consoles.
But it comes back in like twoweeks so it'll automatically
return to um, whatnot?
So I know it's kind of cool.
I thought it was cool.

(08:32):
But that's enough about thenintendo switch 2, let's get
into other gaming news.
Marvel rival season 2 beginsapril 11th with new maps, new
skins, new changes to thecharacters and the newest
addition, emma frost, and Icannot wait to play as her
because I saw her gameplay.

(08:52):
I'm digging her.
I really dig her.
I like the way she's puttogether.
Monster hunter wilds has becomethe fastest capcom game ever to
surpass 8 million units.
Oh, congratulations,congratulations.
A new report has outlinedmicrosoft video game hardware
ambition alleged.

(09:13):
A full next-gen xbox is set for2027 and an xbox branded gaming
handheld is due out later in2025.
We'll see, we'll see.
Remember roomscapeuneScape.
So RuneScape is getting aopen-blop survival game called

(09:35):
Dragon Wild and set within theRuneScape universe.
So I'm kind of interested.
I'm going to look into that.
Ghost of Yotei New detailsreiterate that it's going to be
set 300 years after Ghost ofTsushima.
But as that Atssu will huntdown those responsible for the

(09:56):
death of her family, and how shefights, survives and evolves
the legend of the ghost will beup to you, okay.
So in a sense, like not adirect sequel, but like it is a
sequel, I'll still play it.
At some point overwatch 2 mightdrop.
The two leaks suggest thatblizzard is rebranding the game

(10:19):
back to overwatch with majorseason 16 changes.
I mean, am I, are we reallysurprised with?
Oh, we're gonna add root boxesthat we're gonna add in card and
in the matches.
Uh, we're gonna do all this.
I'm like bruh y'all.
It's like kind of embarrassing.
Uh, way that turned out anyways.

(10:42):
Uh, like I was saying withsplit fiction earlier, uh, this
game is the fastest selling gameto date, with over 1 million
copies sold in two games.
I'm like, yeah, congratulations, split Fiction, I might check
it out at some point.
Super Robot Wars Y is coming toPlayStation 5, nintendo Switch

(11:03):
and Steam in 2025.
And just to explain Super RobotWars, it's this gridbased
tactical combat RPG that bringsunits and pilots from a variety
of anime together to battletheir mutual foes.
So it's like, imagine you getMax from Gundam and all that.

(11:24):
Like not all of them is goingto be there.
But I'm kind of interested inwhat the lineup is going to be
this time around, because I usedto play Super Robot Wars.
It was Super Robot Wars W,either that or J, I don't
remember which one for sure, but, like I think, fire Emblem but

(11:46):
Mechs.
There you go.
Robert Kirkman confirmed thatthe Invincible video game is
still in the works, along withofficial announcement teased
with animated key art.
Saber Interactive has revealeddevelopment on Warhammer 40k.
Space Marine 3 has begun, okay, okay.

(12:07):
And last but not least, in thegaming Well, second last, to
celebrate the 20th anniversaryof the God of War franchise,
sony has announced a slew of newmerch by vinyl soundtracks and
a 67 inch world serpent, plusin-game equipment for God of war

(12:28):
, ragnarok and an art exhibition.
Now, last thing magic gathering, tarkir, dragon storm coming
out later on this week, um, inapril 11th.
And honestly, I am excited forall the different cards and
we're going to have our ownlittle discussion about that

(12:48):
when the time comes.
But that is it for gaming andbook news.
Here's where things get kind ofwild.
Apparently, mary Jane Watson isthe new Venom in All, new Venom
, issue 5.
Why?
Why, I mean it's not, it's just, it's just like.

(13:13):
But speaking of comics, uh,excuse me, sonic the Hedgehog,
the Blue Blur, gaunt, theFlashtooth and Shadow's, batman,
of course, and the JusticeLeague and Sonic Hedgehog
crossover Comic series that willArrive later this year.

(13:38):
The Mushoku Tensei authorRefused to change the story to
Fence Expectations.
The author, rifujin Magonote Iplease Hope I pronounced that at
least somewhat accurately isstanding firm on a heavily
criticized romance subplotinvolving Rudy, his son and his

(14:00):
aunt.
His recent statements suggesthe's not interested in changing
the course.
Saying that I don't care whatyou think.
Course, saying that I don'tcare what you think I'm like.
You know I don't really fuckwith the whole incest
relationship thing, but I dorespect someone that's standing
on business as far as like awriter's point of view, because
I'm trying to write originalstories and my main thing is I

(14:24):
want to write a story that Iwant to tell first and then
hopefully a lot of people mightlike it.
That's the thing it's like.
Sometimes you just gotta writeyour own story instead of like
letting the fans write the storyfor you, because otherwise it's
not even your story.
You know what I'm saying.
Uh, that's it for book news.

(14:45):
Uh, as far as music, nothingreally came across my dashboard,
uh, so to speak.
So sorry about that, but I gota couple of miscellaneous news
and I'm done.
For starters, ayami izakispeaks out about his disapproval
of chat gpt users generatingimages, images, images using the

(15:07):
iconic Studio Ghibli art style.
I kind of agree.
I mean the example.
I've seen it on social mediaand it's kind of funny.
Not going to lie, but getting alittle out of hand almost was a
disrespectful level.
But you know how it is withpeople on the internet they

(15:28):
don't care.
They don't care.
It's sad, but it is what it is.
Yu-gi-oh and Nike iscollaborating on two Nike Air
Max 95s scheduled to releasethis fall.
The Nike Air Max 95 wasunofficially included in the
Yu-Gi-ioh manga, known as theair muscle and worn by, uh, joey

(15:52):
wheeler.
That's cool, that's actuallypretty cool.
That's nice.
And we got some science news.
For starters, canadian team andmy coke since sorry if I
butchered that pronunciationinvented an LED flashlight
powered by hand heat instead ofbatteries.

(16:13):
Her design used peltier tilesto convert thermal energy into
electricity and earnedwidespread recognition at the
Google Science Fair.
This breakthrough may inspirefuture advancement in clean
energy technology like that.
I like that and elsewhere.
In the philippines, angelo has amural.

(16:36):
A 15 year old inventor hascreated a small, a smart shoe
insole that generateselectricity while you walk,
enough to charge small usbdevices.
And using 5z electric materials, he, his invention, can charge

(16:57):
a 400 um battery watch, I don'tknow m8, after just eight hours
of jogging showcasing the powerof motion.
So, between a flashlight thatcan be powered by the heat of
your hand and a shoe, a shoeinsole that can charge small usb

(17:25):
device on my damn like you, canbe a human battery for real.
But that is it for miscellaneousnews and that is it for the
nerdy news.
Uh, as far as developments, Iwould like to say that I am
working on a whole bunch ofthings like anime lightning.
I'm going to be doing a thingwhere, season by season, I'm

(17:47):
just gonna do like maybeanywhere between 10 to 20 anime
that we might not do a fullreview on but at least worth a
mention, like just sometimes Iwould like to review something
but I'm thinking, dang, I don'thave a whole lot to say about it
.
So I just said, you know, let'sjust bunch them all together

(18:10):
into making anime lightning, soI just shoot up a whole bunch of
quick reviews in one segment.
Another thing we are working ona YouTube channel to where
we're trying to import the nerdynews and reviews, so to speak,

(18:31):
on there we're going to dostreams, we're going to do a
whole bunch of other things.
Like a whole bunch of things.
I would just say so, give ussome time, we're going to work
something out, and don't forgetto subscribe to our patreon if
you want to help us make thingshappen.

(18:52):
You know, trying to get newequipment, um, new things, so
that way we can offer you betterentertainment.
So, with that being said, that's all I really had to say.
Uh, go ahead and have yourselfa good morning, good afternoon
and good evening, but ultimately, do take it easy.
