Pastor Walt continues Thinking Out Loud on the Woundedness of Men. In this episode, Pastor Walt tells us that men struggle with their identity. For most men, their identity comes from what they do, what they have, and even what they drive. A man’s identity is critical for his self-esteem, his perspective on how he fits into society, and how he sees women. Why do men struggle with who they are? Compared to women, men really are simple creatures … all they want is to be fed, entertained, and loved. If men are told what to do they will usually do it, but society doesn’t tell men what to do, doesn’t tell men how to be a man. Most men feel there’s no place for them, they feel put down, they have no self-esteem, they have no confidence, they often don’t have a father in their life. The most important thing in a man’s life is their significant relationships … with God, other men, their wives, their children. Men are not taught how to be in these relationships. These relationships are central to a man’s identity. Listen in to learn how a man can be in these relationships.
