He's taken.
I'm your host, rob miranda.
I got a recurring guest on thepodcast, uh, he's currently

world.
Uh, to join me is longtimerecurring guest, mr glenn dowdy.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Thank you for coming

This is my favorite podcast.
To come on, to come on, yeahyeah, so I know you miss
podcasting.
We used to have a dolly partonpodcast on the drive over here I
was actually reminiscing.
I was like man, I just misseven just meeting up once a week
with you boys.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, that was a fun
time of our lives being in front
of the mic.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
It's just.
There's nothing like it.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Well, I told you,
we're in talks right now.
We're being, I guess, on apretty big local podcast pretty
soon too, so that's going to bepretty exciting.
But, like I said, you're goingthrough the MCU right now.
Last time you came on thepodcast, we talked about Garden
of the Galaxy.
You were caught up until thatpoint, but now we're all the way
up to Captain America, braveNew World.
You're not 100% there yet, butyou're enough to really
understand what's going on andenjoying it right.
(01:15):
Yeah, I've got a couple more toknock down.
Show-wise, you only got oneshow out of the way, right.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, yeah, the shows
I'll get to, but the main thing
I wanted to do was I wanted togo to an opening day theater
release of a movie that I knowstuff about, and I did that,
finally, for a Marvel movie thisis my first one.
I missed all the AvengersEndgame, all of that.
I missed everything.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I don't want to say
you started on a bad note,
because this theater crowd iskind of mid.
Usually there's a lot morecheering in this are you kidding
me?
I know.
Not the movie itself we'retalking about like, uh, just the
crowd reactions.
A lot of times there's cheering.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I thought that was a
packed out theater it was packed
and when uh, what's his name?
Came on the screen, everybodycheered.
I was like I don't ever getthat in any other movie.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
That's a new thing to
me cheering, yeah, um, there
wasn't a whole lot of that, though maybe like one scene I
can think of, but did it live upto everything that you wanted
to?
Yeah, it was better thanexpected are you a big Captain
America fan?
Speaker 1 (02:16):
nah, he's okay he's
okay.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, I like him.
He's probably like my top five,I would say, not top three,
though he's no, thor.
Yeah, thor's pretty badass.
Thor was my number three, Ithink.
I think he goes Spider-Man, itmight be Thor actually
Spider-Man.
Thor Wolverine, if we'recounting X-Men already.
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I like Thor, I like
the Hulk.
Is he an Avenger?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
The Hulk, yeah, yeah,
I like the hulk um.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I like captain
america, I like this new captain
america.
Uh, the sam wilson one.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah, the mackie
version.
Yeah, I like him.
I'm excited to get into thatdeep dive we're going to talk to
, but that's going to be justthe first movie.
We're talking about captainamerica, brave new world.
We're also going to be doing athrowback episode, a throwback a
movie.
In this episode, um, you pickedden of thieves, which is a good
time, because the den ofthieves just came out last month
in theaters.
I wasn't planning on seeing denof thieves 2, but after
watching the first one, I'm morelikely to go see it now.
(03:10):
Excellent, how'd you find thatmovie?
Speaker 1 (03:13):
uh, I think brandon
showed it to me one night, uh a
couple years ago I'm not surewhen it came out 2018, but uh,
it was on my mind.
I tried to watch it, uh not toolong ago, and I was unable to
finish, so I came back to it andthen next thing I know I'm on
your podcast.
I'm like, all right, let'swatch some Den of Thieves All
the stars just aligned.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, yeah, I'm a big
collector.
I don't know if you can seebehind you.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I got Thor's hammer
Iron Man's helmet.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I saw that I around
he's, yeah, he's okay, I see
some shields.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I see some doorknobs
yeah I see some posters yeah I
see a lot yeah, captain ray'spretty dope.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I cosplayed as a one
year, if you believe that or not
I've, yeah, I saw pictures yeah, yeah, would you ever cosplay?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
yeah, I, uh, we were
just talking about c2e2.
Uh, I, I was pokemon.
Is that cosplaying?
Speaker 2 (04:01):
yeah, I was.
I was a psyduck psy psy, psy.
You got like a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, do you ever
think about that like?
Speaker 2 (04:08):
people are going
through reminiscing about their
pictures there's a picture ofyou out there with like someone.
Yeah, as a poke I felt likelebron.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Hey, glenn can I take
your picture?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
sure, okay lebron
doesn't take pictures.
I heard, I heard he's a dickyeah he could never but uh, okay
, let's go into the actual movietheater experience to talk
about.
Well before that, there was alot leading up to this movie.
You just finished watchingfalcon and the winded soldier on
disney plus that came out, Ithink, 2021 that's the second
(04:39):
marvel tv show that I've watched.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
What's the first one?
Uh, daredevil.
You finished it already.
I didn't finish it, but I'veseen it.
Oh well, Daredevil is comingback within a month.
Yeah, that'll be next.
That'll be next for me to getlocked in on.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I don't know if you
knew this, but there is
something on Marvel Projectbeing released every single
month of this year animatedseries.
Obviously february was umcaptain america, march's
daredevil, april, uh, some othershow, but may is going to be
thunderbolts.
You know I can't remember themall right now, but there's a lot
going on for them over rightnow I'm excited for thunderbolts
(05:15):
are you, I, you know what.
The first trailer came out and Iwas not that impressed by it.
But the second one came out wasmore showing the villain of the
movie and I thought I'm I'mexcited for it.
It looks cool yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
I just want the
Marvel experience I'm like all
Marveled out right now.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah, I can tell.
And one of the things and notMarvel themselves doing, but AMC
movie theaters are doing, they're coming up with cool,
creative popcorn buckets.
Did you peep those?
Speaker 1 (05:40):
I saw them there I
was like wow, that's a really
cool Captain America popcornbucket.
I would have loved to get myhands on one.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Well, not only did I
peep them, I got my hands on
them.
We're going to go review someof these popcorn buckets.
I'm going to start off with theleast cool ones and go into the
cooler ones.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
All right, this one
is not a popcorn bucket, but
it's actually a cup.
I'm a popcorn connoisseur, bythe way.
Oh really, I didn't know thatabout you.
Oh yeah, I love popcorn.
Yeah, didn't you go to collegefor that?
No, oh okay, I must have beenstuck in you for somebody, but I
have a popcorn machine in myhouse.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
I got the cinnabon
seasoning, so yeah, I take the
popcorn to flavor town.
What's the difference betweencinnabon seasoning and cinnabon?
Speaker 1 (06:20):
I mean cinnamon
seasoning the cinnabon tastes
like like cinnabon.
You're eating like that ooeygooey center of the Cinnabon in
every bite of the popcorn.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Probably the
unhealthiest part of the popcorn
.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Oh yeah, I mean no
Cinnabon.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Anyways, going back
to the cups, this is actually
Captain America cup.
I love the texture of it.
The design of it looks cool.
The front of it's like for thewings.
That's a durable cup.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
right there too, it
has a lid too.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
That's the shield,
but it's on the why they need to
do the Captain America shield.
I lost a straw within like fromthe theater to the parking lot.
It must have fell out.
I thought it was like one ofthose thicker ones that wouldn't
fall off, but I'm still likesore, like you could throw pens
in there Pens in there orsomething like that.
Yeah, pencils, the possibilitiesare endless Markers, crayons.
(07:11):
The second one is what I wasexcited.
When I seen pictures of this,I'm a little bit disappointed
the size of it.
It's the aviator helmet for thenew Captain America.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Oh nice.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, not only is it
nice, you open up the top of his
head and it puts it in there, but not only does it hold
popcorn, it's also a light.
It's kind of light right now,but his eyes light up too red
it's pretty sick, right.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Can I see that one?
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Yeah, this is cool.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
You can only fit
barely any popcorn in here,
though yeah, I wish it was likea little bit bigger, like I said
, but it's very light been there.
Yeah, what would you rate thisone out of 10, this popcorn
bucket?
Speaker 1 (07:54):
that popcorn bucket
out of 10 gets four big booms.
Boom, boom, boom, okay, okay.
Watch us get sued now by theboom guys.
(08:16):
It'd be my pleasure I got onemore popcorn bucket for you.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
This one's my
favorite.
This one is actually shapedenough, uh for a captain america
shield that.
I really like, I like that I'veseen this and I had to go buy
it immediately.
Well, I had somebody buy it forme those were sick.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
It was cool watching
people walk around carrying
those uh-huh, but you flip it on.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
It's like wow, it's
down, there's captain america,
oh, it turns into a popcornbucket that that's a mega bucket
, yeah, and it has, like thiscool new logo on the front of it
.
It's kind of hard to get itstuck in there, but I thought
this thing was badass.
It's huge Humongous, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (08:54):
And not only can you
put the popcorn where the
popcorn goes, along the sides, you could put some a pretzel dog
you know, maybe a.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
You know, maybe a
soft pretzel, I don't know.
Reese's pieces.
They can fit around the edges, man, yeah, would you put donut
holes in there?
Yeah, nice, uh, what'd you getthis?
One out of 10, one out of fivebooms that's a 10.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
No, that we're going.
That's a 10, that's a 10,that's a 10, right, that's a 10
pop right, I got like judged forbuying.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Like.
I'll just say that costs likedamn 50 bucks.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Wow, yeah well, you
can't put a price on happiness,
I guess so it also came withpopcorn too.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
They gave me, like I
said, well, can't put a price on
freedom.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Can't put a price on
bravery, can't put a price on
good values, and that's whatcaptain america stands for, my
friend all of those three orfour things that I just said
you're feeling like prettypatriotic this week, right a
little bit, is it?
because, like it's just CaptainAmerica, because that movie was
way more patriotic than Ithought it was going to be,
(09:50):
because I mean we'll get into it, but they had the whole
presidency and everything, andthat's all fresh in all of our
minds, regardless of whether youpay attention to that or not.
So to have that kind of side ofthings intertwined into the
movie Right now.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
your president's in
the office right now right?
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Well, I wouldn't say
he's my president.
I mean, let's take it easy,didn't you?
Speaker 2 (10:09):
tell me you voted for
him.
I think he's funny.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
He entertains me,
it's not getting political Rob.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Okay, captain America
, brave New World.
This is the fourth CaptainAmerica.
This movie actually gotannounced on the season premiere
of the Falcon Awareness Soldiershow.
I mean this is kind ofsomething that happens in the
comics.
Sam Wilson does get the shieldin the beginning.
I mean the comic books.
So, going to the show, I meanthe movie.
It wasn't a big deal.
(10:38):
I think you'd like this movieway more than I did.
You seen the.
I think you'd like this movieway more than I did You've seen.
I feel like the only two showsyou have to watch before this
movie is Incredible Hulk andEternals.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
I went into this
seeing the Incredible Hulk.
Didn't see the Eternals, however, I watched it last night
.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Oh really.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I watched it last
night.
It's a long ass movie right.
It was a long movie but Ireally enjoyed it.
I kind of looked into it alittle bit before, because you
said that I should watch it.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I was like, nah, I'm
not doing that, so I hit the
spark notes, did something clickin it Like, oh, that's a
reference to this.
Yeah, it did no-transcript anexplanation about it behind all
(11:33):
of it.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I mean we could talk
about the eternals another time,
but, like, even at the end ofwatching the eternals last night
I was thinking okay, so do allof the other people in the
marvel universe know about thesepeople?
Speaker 2 (11:44):
no right not that
we're aware of and I don't think
we're ever gonna find out, because the movie wasn't well
received.
This was like the first, if I'mnot mistaken, second movie, um,
that was released pre postcovid, so because of that it was
released on disney plus itwasn't in theaters.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Very not well
received I I tried to watch it
before when I was going in thetimeline because it was the next
up, and think me and Pat werewatching it shout out.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Pat he's like your
falcon in this movie, yeah but
anyways, yeah, he got shot down, stupid.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
But uh, we got like
20 minutes in and we were like,
yeah, this movie sucks.
It did it sucked.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
But we watched it
last night, I think.
Uh, it originally had a sequelplanned out and it got canceled
because it was badly received.
So you're never really gonnafind out what happened.
The characters at the end of it.
On top of that, there was anend credit scene that was like
blade related.
Uh, you know how.
That one guy was picking up asword and I don't know who blade
is.
He's a vampire slayer.
He's like a hybrid, like he'shalf vampire, okay it's a good.
(12:47):
He's kind of like a buffy, thevampire type thing, going on
kind of yeah, yeah I've neverseen that either you mean,
either um, and I also want totalk about anthony mackie
himself.
He's been having a blast goingaround absolute dog he's a great
actor.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah, awesome, he got
a performance.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
He got emotional on
the red carpet of this.
You know this is the firstmovie that it's his people are
coming to see his movie.
You know he's always been apart of bigger movies but he got
a pretty emotional about that.
I've been watching love, enjoying him going around
marketing this thing, because hetalks very passionate about the
character, about marvel itself.
You know he's very proud and II like seeing that off screen I
(13:25):
don't know if you knew likeFallout Superman with Henry
Cavill.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
He was a great.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Superman pick, but
off camera.
It just seemed like he didn'tcare about playing the character
at all, which I'm sure is notthe case, but that's what came
off off screen.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
If you're going to be
Captain America, that's
something that's bigger thanyourself A thousand percent.
So that's good that he'sputting that on his shoulders
like that.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
I respect that he
talks about how he relates to
this character, because, youknow, one of the themes of this
movie is about America acceptinga black man being Captain
America, and that's the samething with real life Anthony
Mackie, a black man taking overthe role of Captain America in
movies.
Even though it happened in thecomics, people are still kind of
upset about that.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Oh yeah, movies.
You know, even though ithappened to comics, people are
still kind of upset about that.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Oh yeah it is this
exact same scenario.
Yeah, did you enjoy the showfalcon?
And?
winter soldier, it was okay yeah, I didn't hate it uh I think I
was just a little turned offbecause I didn't need to watch
it to watch this movie so I'mglad you said that and one of
the things we're jumping alittle bit ahead at this point
right now, but I want to getinto that the whole.
One of the biggest themes aboutthe falcon and winter soldier
(14:28):
is, like I said, americaaccepting a black captain.
America also.
It's sam wilson trying to kindof factors.
Okay, steve chose me for areason I should be here.
You know he was.
He was self-doubting himselfand they redid the same thing in
this movie and I was like whywe already got a whole ass show
with the same theme.
Like I don't need to hear himcry about this even more.
(14:48):
You know, yeah, and it wasn'tuntil spoiler alert, it wasn't
until bucky came in a picture totell him the same exact thing
steve told you for a reason.
I was like, dude, are you gonnacry about?
and he's gonna have to come wipeyour tears every time seriously
like just do it just yeah, Iwas like quit crying about this
dude like you're here for areason, for being a human with
(15:10):
no super soldier, serum.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
He was badass in this
movie, like fighting these
big-ass villains, fighting thefucking hawk there were, yeah,
there were multiple times when Ithought there's no way he could
survive like it's like the hulkI see him human.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
I see him literally
just running down the streets
like my ass will be dead by.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
It was his suit,
though, bro, that suit was
awesome made by the news the newsuit.
The new suit was sweet made bythe captain america like.
Imagine me right now in acaptain america suit, but like
with wings yeah, like wakandanabandon manium protecting me
from any type of force.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
I'm kind of having a
tough time picturing you like
with the og shield, with the ogshield, hell yeah.
Um, all right, let's just getinto it, because we're going to
talk about this and I don't knowif we officially said we're
gonna talk about the first denof these in the second half of
this episode.
Um so, captain america, a bravenew world.
Sam wilson, the new captainamerica, finds himself in the
(16:08):
middle of an internationalincident that must discover the
motive behind a nefarious globalplan directed by julia julius
ona, written by rob edwards andstory by rob edwards.
Sorry, okay, overall reaction Ithought this movie was
incredibly mid.
I don't even think there wasnothing special about this movie
.
I think it's very forgettable.
It didn't add anything new tothe mcu.
(16:31):
I should say, like the villain, the red hawk yeah, he gets
defeated at the end of the movie, but I don't think we're ever
going to see him again.
On top of that, the red thehawk is the incredible hawks
villain, one of his villains, and so was the, the main person,
uh, not the main person, thethe villain samuel stearns.
That's a hulk villain, um sothis movie was more of a hulk
(16:53):
movie than it was captainamerica I think it would have
been way better.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
I first of all, I
love, I love this movie first of
all.
So I'm not knocking this movie, but it would have been way
better if they didn't includethe Hulk in any of the trailers
or anything.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
A thousand percent,
because the trailer showed the
entire time.
The Hulk was in there.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Because I think the
scene where they showed him
turning into the Hulk we allknew Right Because we saw.
But can you imagine if wedidn't see?
Speaker 2 (17:20):
That would have been
incredible.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Everybody in the
theater would have been
incredible.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Everybody in the
theater would be like oh, it's
the hulk on top of that.
That was like the climax of themovie.
Yeah, that was the third act, what?
Like it was ruined.
I was kind of disappointing.
Yeah, it's fine.
Um, it was kind of ruined I.
I was disappointed in that.
Um, you know the but the actionscenes.
There was like several fightingscenes throughout the whole
(17:42):
movie and it was pretty good.
The fighting scenes were not asgood as the original Captain
America because compared to this, this just seemed so simple
Like punch punch dodge, punchpunch dodge, but in between them
there was like 30 differentcuts for one punch scene.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
That felt like I feel
like these action scenes are
more impressive, though, becausethe other Captain America had
the serum.
This one's just a human.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Yeah, if I want to
watch real people fight, I'm
just talking WWE, yeah, but thisis Captain America, captain.
America will punch you throughthe fucking wall.
Nah, not this one.
That's what I'm saying.
I don't care what this guy does, okay, but he was interesting.
He was definitely a badass.
I'm not knocking hisperformance at all in this movie
(18:23):
.
It just almost didn't feel likehis movie, though, which just
sucks.
A character that stood out tome, though, was the new Falcon
in this movie, played by DannyRamirez.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
I could tell early on
that they were going to focus a
lot on him Because hispersonality early on the way he
was making jokes and everything.
They didn't show any of that inthe TV show.
He was definitely a greatsidekick in this movie yeah,
definitely, but in the TV showhe was way more bland.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Way more bland.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
He didn't have much
screen time, I guess.
I guess that's true, but thisone, yeah, he's another one that
goes on marketing and talkingabout interviews, how proud he
is to be a hero, and stuff likethat on big screen, which is
cool yeah it's tight.
I mean the Falcon, just thewings alone is such an advantage
.
I feel like it's badass.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Oh bro, if you can
fly, that's a step up.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Right, because even
the Captain America can do that.
Yeah yeah, this movie was justokay in funnies it's not well.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
I guess the other
captain americans weren't that
funny no, yeah, just like anymarvel movie, they say a couple
things here and there.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
That's like, oh, that
was kind of funny uh, one of
the biggest thing we talkedabout, the president, uh,
thaddeus ross, played by henryford in this movie.
He replaces the other thaddeusross.
Let me look up his name.
I'm sorry, uh, william hurt, which in real life he tragically
died, but I would have enjoyedhis role a million times better
(19:52):
if it was hurts instead of umharrison.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
I thought harrison
ford did a a good job, though,
like looking like hurts andsounding like hurts and acting
like hurts I feel like I waslike envisioning.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I feel like like
Hertz is almost a foot taller
than I am.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
I was envisioning in
my head.
This is the same guy.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Really.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Yeah, because I like
Harris before, but I didn't like
him in this, couldn't trust him.
Captain America said we can'twork for him.
Yeah, can't work for him.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Yeah, you caught on
pretty early.
It's almost like you're likeCaptain America, yeah, yeah,
okay, yeah, okay, I'm makingconnections there.
Um, I had a blast watching itthough, but would I watch it
again in theaters?
Speaker 1 (20:30):
probably not oh no,
yeah, it wasn't like that good.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
It was good, though I
thought yeah, I don't want to
give too much away in spoilers, but there's nothing too much
spoil like let's go down theline because the cost.
Let's talk about the costumesin general because like they
were definitely a step up, notjust, uh, falcon, I mean captain
america, but falcons as wellyeah, uh, falcon was basically
just like army captain america, army green captain or army green
uh, the falcon, but army greenbut then how they made the red
(21:00):
hawk look in this movie.
They made it look a lot morelike harrison ford than the like
Mark Ruffalo.
You know what I?
Speaker 1 (21:04):
mean, Did you did it?
I thought it was the exact sameface and everything.
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
For not the Hulk but
the Red Hawk.
Yeah, yeah, that's.
I was impressed how they didthat.
I liked it.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Oh, I thought it
looked like just the Hulk's face
.
Okay, like Green Hulk, but red.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
I was very surprised,
and a little bit disappointed,
that the Hulk didn't make anappearance in this movie.
I thought he would, at onepoint, right To stop Red Hulk or
maybe just have it like Ithought he was going to visit
him at the raft at least andlike you said, there's so many
mentions to the Hulk as far asthe villains who they are Like
might as well include the Hulk.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Right right.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
You know why there's
not another Incredible Hulk
movie?
Why?
Because Universal owns therights to movies for the Hulk
and they don't want to give outthe rights to the Marvel, and I
guess they don't.
I don't know why, but theydon't want to make another Hulk
movie.
So that's why they're sneakingin the Hulk in all these other
movies like Thor Ragnarok, because the Hulk was heavily
(22:03):
influenced and then you got themovies like this.
So they're kind of using himwithout using him.
So you don't think we'll seeRed Hulk again.
I personally don't think so InAvengers.
No, I think he's one and done, unless they make another Hulk
movie, which I kind of doubt.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Because what if we're
in the Avengers?
We're losing the battle.
Captain America's getting histeeth kicked in.
We say, hey, we need a ringer.
Let's make this guy formerpresident, mr President, get
angry.
Now we have an extra.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Hulk.
He also doesn't have thecontrol, like Bruce Banner does,
over the Hulk.
No, he doesn't know how to yeah,but that's why I thought he's
gonna show up at the end ofelisa and credits.
He may be like hey, like, likeyou haven't seen the movie, the
show she hawk yet.
Like he trains her how tomanifest it on some special
island that tony stark made forhim.
I thought he's gonna like hey, like, let me watch this guy,
like we'll try to work this out,but uh, no, nothing, he just
(22:52):
gotta.
He.
Matter of fact, harrison ford, not thaddeus ross, turns himself
in into the raft.
So he's gonna live on the restof his days there.
The raft what's the raft?
That giant prison in the ocean.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
He was locked up yeah
he's the hulk, though he can
get out of there.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
You know who's also
there is um zemo.
You know, we learned fromcaptain america show zemo.
He was the villain, you know.
Ah, yes, yes, he's also on theraft too.
I thought we were gonna likerun into him, at least he
shouldn't have all these badguys together.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Something's going to
happen.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Right, and then also
Captain.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
America's going to
have to come and save the day.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
The Howard Stearns
was Not Howard Stearns, it's not
Howard Stearns, Rob SamuelStearns Come on.
Samuel Stearns was also there.
You know the he was veryunderwhelming.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
He's kind of like a
smart-ass reed richards that he
wanted to use his powers just toget back at.
I didn't like that.
He was turned out to be themain villain, um.
However, it is pretty realisticto the world today.
This whole movie, I thought, was because, okay, we don't want
to like spoil so much of theplot, but they're fighting over
a resource yeah, that's exactly.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
It's actually a
pretty big deal that resources.
We'll talk about that in asecond.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
That's exactly what
countries do today.
We fight over oil, or let's sayoil you know what I'm saying?
And then that could lead totensions, and then that could
lead to a war.
We saw a war in the movie.
We saw the president try andget the president get shot or
try to get shot.
Do, doesn't it get shot or tryto get shot like do you think it
(24:24):
was really?
Speaker 2 (24:25):
shot, shot in the
movie.
No, no, in real life.
Oh, in real.
Yeah, okay, video of it, okay, okay, but like but like you know
what I'm saying.
Like it's not far off from likethe world uh-huh, yeah, you're
right about that, and I'm like Ican appreciate that realism.
I think there's been like eightpresidents in the MCU already
since it started.
Wow, yeah, they keep changingthem that's kind of crazy.
Um, but yeah, like the, he wasthe main villain.
(24:48):
He's more like a chess masterthan anything.
He's the one pulling thosestrings behind everything and
like letting them fall, kind oflike a Zemo villain, you know.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah but like I Like,
I just have problems with him.
How do you think he lookedBrainiac Nasty?
Speaker 2 (25:00):
They did a good job,
yeah, he was gross he looked
like a.
That's not really what he lookslike in the comics, though, oh
it's not I mean his head in themovie.
It was like his brain pushed upto the skin.
It looked like almost.
Because it's so big, yeah, and Iwas like this guy's resourceful
, like why don't they tryworking with this guy anymore?
You know what I mean?
Yeah, and he was this.
(25:21):
We could talk about that creditscene because it's literally
not spoiling anything.
It was lame as shit, thatcredit scene dude.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I thought it was good
.
Everybody when we were walkingout was like that was the worst
end credit scene ever.
I was just like you guys justhave to complain about something
yeah, there was a great movieand you just have to get a
complaint out there was hugenerd nerds sitting behind us.
Yeah, you heard that right.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, it was nothing.
I mean not that it was bad, butit didn't add any information.
It was just him warning becausehe has that big brain.
He's like there's more peoplelike me coming and that's how it
ends.
Okay, who the fuck's coming?
Are you going to tell him andwe're going to get advantage?
Point at this point sometime soum his thing.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
Like I don't want to
like get there too fast, but his
mind control right.
No manipulating people like butlike controlling their minds he
couldn't control their minds.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
You sure, he played
mind games with them, but he's
not in your head then how did hemake people?
Do things.
He's that smart like you cansee multiple outcomes.
You know, he just does likemath in his head, basically.
So how did he make like if Ilike?
Speaker 1 (26:24):
punch you.
How do you make the dude shootat the president?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
oh yeah, I'm sorry he
, he doesn't do it with his mind
.
I'm sorry he does do my control, my bat through machines he
made.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
So why didn't he just
do that to captain america?
It's kind of true.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
I was thinking that
the whole movie yeah, there are
some plot holes like that inthis movie, but um, isaiah
bradley is a big part of thismovie same thing though all of
the trailers.
You see he's.
Those are all his scenes.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Okay, I I saw him in
the tv show, so that was good
that I knew who he was for thetv show, so I take back what I
said.
Yeah, he was cool.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
I like his character
a lot and I like how cap's
trying.
I knew who he was for the tvshow, so I take back what I said
.
Yeah, he was cool.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
I like his character
a lot and I like how cap's
trying to help him he was cooland when he was fighting and
running fast and doing supersoldier stuff it looked really
funny because he's old yeah, butit looked badass.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Yeah, it did.
Yeah, it did.
He's a big dude too.
Yeah, he was.
Um, he's another character Idon't think we're ever going to
see.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
That seems right.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
In the show, you know
he had his grandson there
helping him with things, right,yeah.
In the comics he's like I thinkhis name's like Patriot or
something like that.
He's a superhero character aswell, because I think he gets
inherited some of his strengthand stuff like that.
Oh cool, so we might be seeinghim, because there is going to
(27:41):
be like a young avengers thatmade with, uh, ant-man's
daughter kamala harris, notkamala harris.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Kamala harris is the
avengers kamala.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
What's her name?
Con kamala, she was miss marvel, um.
Who else?
Hawkeye the new bishop, katebishop, that's cool dude.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Ant-man's daughter's
gonna be a badass yeah there's
mentions of ant-man in thismovie.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
I thought we're gonna
get a small cameo towards the
end of him.
I was hoping so.
I enjoy Ant-Man Like, especially when he was in the
hospital just waking up.
Yeah, I thought it was like hey, I got a surprise for you and
it's Ant-Man.
That'd be cool if he wasalready there and he just made
himself bigger to talk about.
Uh, her name is ruth.
Ruth, bass, bass, giraffe she'sa little.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, that's correct.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, she's still,
she was like the head of
security and she's like fourfeet tall.
Something about that actresswas kind of off right, like I
just couldn't stop staring at it, like because she was russian
maybe, but she was like so tinythe way she was talking, it was
like unsettling almost yeah, shewas a little firecracker, but I
wouldn't have messed with hershe was like in the black widow
(28:43):
program, same thing as natasha,so she was a badass her fighting
scenes were tight yeah because, like you said, she's so small,
but she's like running up wallsand like kicking people in the
air.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Yeah, yeah, she was
like natasha romanoff, yeah and
she was someone early on that Ithought might be uh up to some
tomfoolery but, she turned outto be.
She turned out to be one of theuh, one of the good people, one
of the straight straightshooters of the movie.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
Yeah, once you
realize what the fuck was going
on, yeah, um I don't know if youknew about this before this
movie was made.
They damn near completed themovie making it, but they Marvel
Kevin Feige saw it and was likethis is ass.
So they had to go back andspend another four months
reshooting the whole movie.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Create the entire
movie again, damn near.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
I don't know what
they cast or what they got rid
of.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
That original footage
or the first time they did it.
Is that super valuable.
Does somebody have that?
Speaker 2 (29:41):
I'm sure it'll get
leaked, or maybe the plot, like
the script or something, willget leaked years later.
I don't know if we'll ever seethose.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
It happens a lot
actually Does it.
Yeah, I feel like somebodyshould get those Warner.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Brothers has an
entire movie ready to go for the
Wile E Coyote.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
You know what I'm
talking about no-transcript.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Finished making the
movie, but wonder brothers
decided not to release itbecause they'd rather take a tax
write off on it.
So if you write off your taxes, one of the stipulations is you
can never release that moviethen, so it's just burned.
Yeah, they did try auctioningit off to other studios if they
wanted to pick it up anddistribute it, but I don't think
anyone bid on it, so we'reprobably never going to see that
(30:28):
too.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Maybe it was really
bad.
Did they get to see it beforethey bid on it?
Speaker 2 (30:34):
I'm sure they do.
Yeah, but Captain America Ididn't see.
At the end.
You know, at the end of themovies it says captain america
will return, or star lord willreturn, and stuff like that yeah
, captain, america will returnto the avengers I don't think I
said that did it unless I missedit.
Nah, would you like to seecaptain america back, though?
Of course do you think he woulddeserve his own movie.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
He'll be back in the
event.
He's an avenger.
Yeah, but the president askedhim to bring the avengers back
and that's.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
We're gonna see him
again.
Yeah, that's what this kind ofmovie was like, leading up to
him reforming the avengers too.
Who do you think is gonna be onthe avengers now?
Speaker 1 (31:07):
I think this avengers
.
I think they're gonna rally up.
Uh, obviously, captain america.
He's leading the team, which iscrazy because he's a human okay
thor's gonna be back, not fatThor.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
He's going to be
chiseled what about his new
daughter from the other movielike Love?
I think that's what they calledher as an?
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Avenger.
Yeah, like his kid.
We're talking about the cremede la creme here.
Star-lord, the Guardians maybethe Guardians are there too but
Star-Lord is confirmed to comeback that's what it said, at
least at the end of his movie.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
I don't know, I would
imagine so okay.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Um then, uh is is
hulk.
Would he come back for avengers?
Speaker 2 (31:49):
I don't think there's
more, I would lean.
No, I think that's more.
If mark ruffalo wants to comeback for the avengers, I'm
leaning no, there um spider-man,obviously, obviously.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Well, I can't wait
for spider-man, this
spider-manMan, this newSpider-Man.
He's my favorite Spider-Man.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Tom Holland yeah,
he's cool.
He's cool, he's dope.
He's a comfort to be in theAvengers movie too.
Let's see who else.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
And I think we get a
special appearance from the OG
Captain America In the newAvengers movie.
Yeah, that's a rumor, he'sdenying it.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Is it really he's
denying the rumors?
But we've also seen actors deny.
They've been in movies beforetoo and they trust me on it.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Oh yeah, I would deny
it too, and then I'd come back
in my Captain America suit andfight some crime.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Baby, fuck yeah, I
was like what's up dudes, yeah,
yeah, what was I going to say?
Which other characters?
For sure, maybe the wasp, Idon't know.
Um shang chi, he's gonna comeback.
Sick movie.
Yeah, dr, strange, I think he'sgonna come back in the avengers
movies and he's gonna have anew movie.
They have to have dr strangethere.
(32:46):
Yeah, I think shang chi and umdr strange is supposed to film
this year.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Strange yeah
obviously a lot of great people
that I'm talking about.
I didn't know who they werelike eight months ago, right,
yeah, black panther the newblack panther yeah uh, there's
gonna be a spinoff show from.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
You've seen black
panther too yet, right or no?
Speaker 1 (33:05):
I have not.
That's like my next one of mynext two to watch uh thor, love
and thunder and then blackpanther too okay.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
so there's, the
character in the second black
panther is getting her ownspinoff show.
I I believe it's releasing thisfall.
Yeah, called Ironheart.
She kind of makes like her ownIron man suits Full of vibranium
yeah, she's that smart too, soyeah.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
I wish that stuff was
real.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Well, we also talked
about.
They introduced a new elementthat's stronger than vibranium,
Animinium yeah, which you know.
It's basically saying, hey,we're going to have Wolverine
come in pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
All right, so that's
Wolverine's stuff.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Animantium yeah, his
stuff is made out of Animantium,
his skeleton, yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
And it's super strong
.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, yeah, in the
movies they said it's stronger
than Vibranium, but in the comicbooks I don't think that's the
case.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
All right.
So the resource in this moviethat they were fighting over was
Animitium Animantium.
And where'd they get?
Speaker 2 (34:06):
it from the celestial
that's sticking its head out
the thing.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
Is it made out of it?
Speaker 2 (34:11):
I guess so yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
So that's, all
Animantium.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
I guess so yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Okay, because at the
end of Eternals, like I told you
last night, she stopped it fromcoming out of the earth.
I thought it was marbles atfirst, by turning it to stone, I
thought.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
And then I looked
closer.
It looked like it was metal andI know that yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
so yeah, you caught
on pretty well.
I was a little bit nervous foryou watching this, because I
don't know how much was going togo over your head.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
But no, you caught on
pretty well.
That's fair, yeah, yeah, um,overall the action was movie was
pretty dope.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
It was like I can't
get over, captain america's suit
, like how it was based whiteyeah, that was sick.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
It was very comic
book, accurate and he had the
cool glasses, definitely like anupgrade to the old suit.
The old suit was just likevintage, so like I get that, but
the new suit was like they didawesome yeah let's talk about
cameos too.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
There's really two,
only two cameos um the winter
soldier that's more bucky barnesthan the winter soldier in this
movie but is he one of them?
Speaker 1 (35:08):
yeah, okay him.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
I just couldn't think
of his name um, he shows up in
this movie, made a way, like Isaid, to get basically give cap
a pep talk, but he it's statedthat he's running for governor
and the next movie doesn't looklike he's a governor.
In that movie you know what Imean he's like one of the main
characters.
What movie the?
Speaker 1 (35:28):
thunderbolts.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Oh no, yeah, he's
fighting right governor, so I
kind of was confused on why theythrew that in the movie.
Um, and the other one came.
It was betsy ross, at the very, very end, the red hawk's
daughter.
Okay, yeah, she was anincredible hawk.
And, fun fact, that actressshe's the voice of I can't
remember her name, but she wasthe voice of spider-man suit in
(35:51):
his, in his helmet alexa no it'snot, alexa.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
I know what you're
talking about, though I didn't
know that.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
That's cool, that's
her voice, the voice actress.
But yeah, she's.
She made a cameo in this moviewhich they made.
It's a big reveal.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Like natasha, no
betsy ross trying to think of
the name in the suit.
I'm like watching.
Oh, I'm watching tom hollandtalk to his suit and hearing her
voice yeah, what the fuck isher name?
Speaker 2 (36:16):
like I want to say, I
thought it was k Karen or some
shit like that, but I don'tthink so.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
No, that's SpongeBob.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Yeah, plankton's wife
, yeah, yeah, but her cameo was
literally five minutes, if likemore like three.
Actually, she didn't addanything to it.
People were kind of likeconfused.
Should we cheer for this?
I don't know if you noticedthat.
No, I didn't.
Like there's only a handful ofclaps.
(36:44):
It's cool like Easter egg, butlike they built it up bigger
than it was.
And when I see this movie ismid I don't think there was any
character development.
There wasn't anything.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
You don't think
Captain America had character
development?
No he became the guy bro.
He became the guy in the Falconand the Winter Soldier he
became the lead, yeah, but thepresident walked up to him and
said hey, I want you to startthe Avengers back up.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
The president ended
up being a dick anyway.
Who gives a fuck?
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Still though.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
He started out really
good like a nice guy.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
That's character
development.
But then, like 45 minutes intothe movie, the Falcon, the, the
falcon, the falcon no, nocharacter, he was the same, the
whole movie almost gave his life.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
Now he's gonna be in
the avengers and now he's an
avenger.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
He didn't change.
He became an avenger no, Ididn't know.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
This movie was mid
like, and then when we got to
the third act, you know with thehawk, I was like, oh, we're
here already, like this, is ityou know?
Like I didn't.
You know.
Every movie, almost every movie, there's this marvel goosebumps
moments where, like, somethinghappens and like, oh, we're here
already, like this, is it?
You know?
Like I didn't you know.
Every movie, almost every movie, there's this Marvel goosebumps
moments where, like, somethinghappens and like, oh shit, it's
about to go down.
I didn't get any of that inthis movie.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
I think we would've
if we just didn't know about the
Red Hulk.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
I 1000% agree with
that and that fight alone was
literally like 6 minutes, ifthat.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Yeah, but it would
have been okay if we didn't know
about it.
It would have been great if wedidn't know about it yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Any final thoughts on
Captain America?
Brave New World.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Solid movie First
movie release in a long time
that I was excited for in monthsbefore and yeah, solid One out
of ten.
One out of ten.
One out of ten and this isbiased, based on recency the
occasion of me enjoying myself, going to this movie and watching
(38:31):
it is going to raise the scorea little bit of what I think the
movie is.
So I'm going to say a 9.2.
Solid 9.2?
.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
I loved it.
That's incredible.
I loved it.
Do you think you're gonna makeyour whole personality because
america now?
No, no, no no I'm just gonnaplay it cool.
Oh no, I'm getting.
This is six out of ten.
Okay, yeah, I'm sorry respectto your opinion 6.6 out of 10.
It's this movie's forgettable.
Am I gonna think about thismovie two years from now?
(38:58):
Definitely not forgettable.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Yeah, forget you're
never gonna see this movie two
years from now.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Definitely not
Forgettable, yeah, forgettable.
You're never going to see itagain.
I'll probably see it one moretime.
Actually, you know what I didfollow.
There's someone I follow whodoes podcasting reviews.
Their score went up the secondtime they watched it, so maybe
I'll give it another try, butdefinitely not in theaters.
But once it starts streaming, probably watch.
(39:22):
Do you re-watch marvel movies?
Speaker 1 (39:23):
all the time you do.
I think I've seen uh, endgamemaybe, like I've seen deadpool
five times in theaters.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
Oh well, yeah, but
I'm saying like just randomly
like, oh, yeah, yeah, the othernight I started watching civil
war, nice, okay.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Well, let's kind of
get ready for this cool, I think
I'm getting there, but I I'mgonna re-watch them like very
soon in uh.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Chronological order
because we're not.
You're just doing a order, yeahand I'm almost through.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
So now that I know
everything, I'm going to go
chronological and really enjoymyself.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I would say, by the
time you reach Thunderbolts
you'll be there.
You'll be done with watchingeverything probably.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
I agree, and then
I'll be right on track.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Yeah, now we're going
to switch up paces a little bit
and go into a torn 2018 movie.
Do you pick den of thieves 2018, 2018?
Speaker 1 (40:02):
like I said, they
just released a sequel this past
month and um, which I didn'teven really know about the
sequel yeah, to be honest, untilI told you like, oh, it's
perfect timing yeah, are yougonna watch the sequel?
Speaker 2 (40:14):
are you excited for
the sequel?
Speaker 1 (40:15):
now, I'll catch it on
streaming yeah, I'll catch it
on streaming, for sure I'm noteven sure if it's in theaters.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
Still, um, this movie
came out in 2018.
I remember it being a big deal, and now that I never seen it
but this is my first timewatching it, that I'm watching
it this is definitely is like asuburban dad kind of movie, is
it?
I would say so, like the onlypeople I see getting excited
about this movies are likepeople who don't simpletons like
me, yeah, who don't live inthis lifestyle Not that I say I
(40:41):
do, but I was like this is kindof cheesy.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
I'll tell you
Overdramatic.
I'll tell you why.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
It's like Spike TV.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
I'll tell you why I
think I like this movie.
Because this movie relates alot to me, to the Grand Theft
Auto.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
A thousand percent.
You told me that before andafter watching is like I I see
what he's talking about.
Uh, for those you know, thismovie is about an elite units of
the la county sheriff'sdepartment and the state's most
successful bank robbery crewclash as outlaws uh plan to
seamlessly leave impossibleheist on the federal reserve
bank.
Uh, directed by christian uhguts gassed, also written by
(41:16):
christian guts gassed.
I'm sorry if I mispronouncedthat, but no, you nailed it,
it's.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
It's good guys you're
right.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Thank you um.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
This is my first time
watching it which I was
surprised about, because I'veseen this movie like three times
really yeah, my dad alwaysrecommended this movie to me and
I just kept putting it off.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
But uh, gerard butler
plays in this.
Who plays big nickel brian, that's his name big nickel brian
.
If this guy was a real lifeperson, this, I feel like this
is what every white cop thinks.
He is in real life, like thisbadass outlaw who, like I, want
to call him a dirty cop, but hewasn't dirty, thinks he's above
the law.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Yeah, you know who
also thinks that is the law.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
You know who also
thinks that you know who also
thinks that it's Captain America.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Thinks he's above the
law.
He is above the law.
Yeah, true, he has a vibraniumshield.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
Yeah, there's a lot
of celebrities in this movie, 50
Cent's in this movie.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
I forgot about that
50 Cent's a very good actor Did
you watch Power and all that too.
Yeah, I watched Power.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
You watched Entourage
?
Did you watch?
Speaker 1 (42:20):
power and all that.
Yeah, isn't he part you watchentourage?
Isn't he in there a coupletimes?
Uh, I'm sure he has a couplecameos.
Yeah, yeah, but uh, power,power.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
It's an amazing show
yeah, well, he's also just a
great businessman too I think heowns smart water, vitamin water
vitamin water.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
He like blew that up
and then sold it.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
Yeah, he's a badass,
yeah, um I kind of was surprised
that we didn't have a lot moreof his songs in this movie,
though you know what I mean.
All right, let's go through themovie a little bit quick,
because this movie opens up veryfast paced.
It opens up during an act ofrobbery, like this night.
This crew is robbing this donutshop, but they're not robbing
(42:53):
the actual donut shop.
They're there for the Brinkstruck to steal.
The Brinks truck Ends upturning into a shootout.
There's a loose cannon what'shis name?
From 8 Mile.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Oh, speaking of 8
Mile was Chris Mackey, that's
his name.
Was he in 8?
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Mile yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
Who was he, clarence
At the end?
Speaker 2 (43:14):
Yeah, his real name's
, clarence.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
Yeah, Clarence's
parents has a real good marriage
.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Somebody said that at
work this week I was like shut
up Cheddar that's the guy's nameI'm thinking of from 8 Mile,
that's Chris.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Mackie.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
No, no, no.
Chris Mackie is Clarence.
Cheddar is the other white guyin this one who starts the
shooting out Cheddar.
Bob Cheddar Bob, he was in thismovie, but he's a lot different
than what it ended up being, because it looked like he was
just a wild card because he shotfirst and, uh, his firing
wasn't justified, I think, and Ithought he's gonna be a wild
card and they're gonna have toturn on.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
No, yeah they.
They prided themselves on uh,is that word prided?
Speaker 2 (43:50):
yeah, well, they have
lived by code, yeah they don't
shoot cops they don't shoot cops.
They also don't shoot, like orhurt innocent people exactly you
know they that they have thatone scene like where they staged
that he did, but they didn'treally do it.
So they do live by like a moral.
But this one was likeunpreventable after he shot a
cop they ended up doing ashootout but they did get away
by stealing the truck.
Now the stump the cops was likewhy would you want to steal a
(44:11):
Brinks truck?
And my mind, cause I work, youknow they have a Brink truck,
but you don't know why they'regoing to do it.
So obviously they're going tobe looking for that one.
They took out the GPS trackingdevice in there.
I saw.
But wouldn't you put something?
I would put something on allthe other Brink trucks, like
(44:32):
locally Put, like a gold star onthe side of it.
Okay, this one's a gold star,it's ours, Something to
distinguish it a little bit more, since you can't thing, you
know you're saying from theirperspective of they stole it and
they want to like hide it?
yeah, because that's what theywere hiding it for a while, so
they needed it.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
And if you see it on
the street like say, say, they
painted all the other trucks, this is why I like movies like
this yeah because you couldthink about the planning of the
heist and it reminds me of grandtheft auto, because a thousand
percent the main mission ingrand theft auto.
You're robbing the super bankin Los Angeles the Union
Depository.
That's exactly what they'redoing here.
How many times did you do thatmission?
Probably like 30 times, yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
It's a long ass
mission, yeah.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Yeah, I love it, but
yeah, bank robbing movies are
sick.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
Yeah, and like I said
someone who used to work in the
bank, they're underwhelming.
Like if you rob a bank, theywere at the big one, but there
was a scene like where they'rerobbing like a smaller local one
, like in your localneighborhood.
Yeah, there's not that muchmoney that you think's in there.
How much money's in there?
I I don't want to say how muchis in there, but like, come on,
bro, you throw out a number.
I guarantee it's less.
It's like 50 grand.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
Oh, it's more than
that, but I mean that's, if I
walk out of there with $50,000,I'm happy $100,000?
.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Splitting it between
like eight guys, though, you get
like $50.
That's solid.
Speaker 1 (45:51):
How much is in the
bank, though?
Like $250,000?
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Between that and
maybe $500,000.
Depends on like time of theyear and stuff like that but
it's not that much Like notworth it.
I should say you can't even buya house for $250 50.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
How's the security in
there with it pretty fucking
tight, like how tight you guyslike the like the a big door
with like a big handle.
Yeah, I actually do.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
Yeah, see, that's,
that's tight this camera's
everywhere and stuff like that.
It is hard to like ink packs II'm not gonna say it because I
don't want to, because I stillwork at this bank.
Yeah, so it's not that worth itto rob a bank and serve life in
prison.
Speaker 1 (46:32):
I disagree.
I mean I disagree.
So, for instance, last night,me and Pat, we were watching
Eternals and they each havetheir little superpowers and
he's like which one would youwant?
I said I would want to be theone that can run really fast and
I would just be the biggestthief, I would just steal
everything.
Why don't you be like the guywho was?
Like Superman, basicallyBecause I'd want to steal that
(46:54):
guy was pretty bad.
Yeah, and he flew.
That was sick yeah yeah.
But if you're able to steal, youcan rob banks and stuff.
That'd be sick.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
So if you have powers
, that'd be sick, yeah, um so if
you have powers.
I'm kind of fascinated by bankrobberies.
My high school soccer coach hewas a cop, a hammond cop, and uh
, he got shot.
My senior year in the buttgoing, going to a bank robbery
in hammond.
Who shot?
in the bank robber yeah, andthen they ran.
But I mean they got caught, butbut he was the only one that
got shot.
He got shot in the butt.
He was okay, that's wild, butyeah, it was like we went over
(47:32):
to his house and he told us thestory.
It was sick.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
Was it a badass story
though?
Speaker 1 (47:35):
Yeah, Well no, he was
an idiot.
He just rolled up door and, like they, shot at him.
Why would you just like walk tothe front door?
You know what I'm?
Speaker 2 (47:53):
saying I didn't tell
him that, but I was like I'm
glad you're all right, man.
I'm glad you're doing goodthough, coach.
Yeah, hope you're doing well.
Um, oh, she jackson's in thismovie.
Yeah, ice cube son I was whenhe had a lot of stuff.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
He's coming on a lot
of stuff yeah, okay, I've only
ever seen him in this.
And uh, shredder comptpton.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
I was kind of nervous
about this because he came in
that I was so nervous I wasnever going to be able to
picture him in anything else butthat role, because it's his dad
.
He looks just so similar.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
But he killed it.
In this role he was very good,he was interesting.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
He did nothing crazy
to make it his own role, but I
like seeing him in this roleturns out being like the star of
the movie, too kind of yeah, yeah, at the end of the movie
and the one thing I just loveabout heist movies like you're
always guessing what's going on,you're trying to connect the
dots as you're going along, because these guys are pro, they
thought about every littlething and it was.
It's fascinating.
(48:40):
And then you're also gettingthe perspective of the cop side,
trying to put it together too,and so we're mostly viewing this
for the cop side, I would say.
True, played by gerard butler, who's a badass.
But, like I said, if you thinkabout this character and put him
in real life, like this guy's ajackass oh yeah, I thought he
was a jackass in the in themovie they added
(49:01):
that's what I'm talking aboutyeah, but they added, um, a lot
of random characteristics aboutsome of these characters that
had nothing to do with the movie.
Like he drew up, all hischaracter was going through an
ugly divorce.
At the time he was a drunk andI feel like they just totally
abandoned that idea in thesecond half of the movie.
He never mentioned it.
That one scene with 50 cent andhis, his daughter, had a
boyfriend come over to pick himup and they all scared him.
(49:23):
It was a funny scene andnothing to do with the whole
fucking movie.
50 cent wasn't even a maincharacter, like that for him to
do that it was a funny scenethough it was funny, but like it
was kind of lame as shit.
Uh, just a hater.
I am kind of hating on thismovie because, like I said it's
it could have been a lot better.
I was very entertained, thoughit took me like maybe two days
(49:46):
to watch this movie because Ipaused halfway through.
I couldn't take enough of it.
It did give me that thrill ofan action movie, though there's
a lot of explosions a lot ofgunfight.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Yeah, good action, it
was cool.
The gunfight at the end wasgood.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:59):
What did you think
when you found out who was
pulling the strings from thewhole thing?
When you found out that it wasO'Shea Jackson?
Speaker 2 (50:05):
so I thought that was
kind of like did you expect it
at all?
Speaker 1 (50:08):
no, not really.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
Nah, I was shocked,
cause he thought he was just
like a kid who didn't know shit.
I was like gasp, yeah, and he's.
He's in the second one.
Him and Gerard LeBeller almostlooks like they team up in the
second, like Gerard Ballardneeds his help to bring somebody
in.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
But he was called?
Speaker 2 (50:29):
what was his name?
The codename in this one LikeHot Wheels or some shit like
that Getaway car.
But he was a driver, I feellike this is what Fast and
Furious movies wish they couldhave been.
You know, what would you givethis movie?
Speaker 1 (50:41):
one out of ten.
Another solid movie, 8.6.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
movie one out of ten.
Another solid movie, 8.6, Iguess.
Movie seven out of ten.
Nice, yeah, uh, I don't know ifI'll how soon again I would
watch it, but I definitely wantto watch these den of thieves
too now definitely will watchden of thieves to den of thieves
.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
This is like a movie,
just like weeknight whatever.
Yeah, like, if you want alittle thrill, like I said, it's
.
It's like a window.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
If you you're a fan
of the spike tv show, you'll
probably like this movie youever watch mxc on spike tv back
like back in the day?
Speaker 1 (51:13):
it's like the um
japanese like most.
It's like most extreme.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
I don't think so, oh,
dude, I'm spike tv used to have
a show called like I have tosend you some youtube clips me
my dad used to watch all thetime spike tv used to have a
show called like a thousand ways, like a thousand ways to die,
yeah that was a pretty sick show.
Uh-huh spike tv.
I don't think it's aroundanymore?
I don't think so yeah, uh,glenn, next movie coming up is
(51:39):
thunderbolts.
You're gonna be down to seethat yes 100.
Did this change your character?
Persuade you of a new favoritecharacter in this movie?
Speaker 1 (51:48):
a new favorite, like
Marvel character.
Yes, well, I'll tell you what Ireally like this new Captain
America yeah but my favorite isstill Thor.
He's no.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Thor.
He's no Thor.
I could see you cosplaying asThor.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
You got the beard for
it yeah, well, you think I
could be Thor, cause I'm fat.
Uh, is you got the beard for it?
Yeah, what, you think I can beThor?
Speaker 2 (52:07):
because I'm fat.
Is that a jab?
Speaker 1 (52:14):
Thanks for coming on,
glenn?
No, you'll be.
No, thank you for having me onman.
Like I said, this is myfavorite podcast to come on.
Speaker 2 (52:21):

He came to the movies with us.
Shout out to Pat.
Speaker 1 (52:24):

He came to the movies with us.
Shout out to Pat Look for himon maybe a future episode, I
don't know.
Yeah, he's in talks aboutmaking an appearance, a debut.
Speaker 1 (52:30):

Speaker 2 (52:33):

Speaker 1 (52:34):
I am in a musical
mood.
I want to watch musicals.
I got you I've said it beforePitch Perfect.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
I watched that movie
and I feel good.
So that's, I want to talk aboutthat.
And then, what about a theatermovie?
We can just figure that out,we'll figure that out.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Yeah, I'm sure
there's musicals coming out this
year that we can do.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
Yeah, I plan on going
to the movies a lot more this
year.
Okay, so I know this is five orsix times.
Speaker 2 (53:00):
I want to end this on
a pretty positive note.
So I know it's kind of hard tobelieve, but like, let's just
imagine you're captain America.
What would you give the like amotivational speech to the
Americans out there?
Speaker 1 (53:15):
My fellow Americans,
citizens and all alike.
Times may be bleak, but truthand freedom we will seek.
We can all stand together andwe can all do this thing
together.
Or we can stand alone and fighteach other, but instead we can
fight back if we stand together.
So stand tall, america, standtall.
(53:39):
But I'm not Captain America, Icouldn't give one.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Yeah, and some of you
rhyme too.
You said together like fivetimes Nice, nice.
I found my clip for the episodeWell thank you.
