Speaker 1 (00:01):
The regular recommended Daley dose of funny is just not enough.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Thankfully, we have extra funny with TJ and Riggins. Yes, thankfully, thankfully.
You know what I just realized, Well, I I have
always known that I'm the worst at this, but I
just realized that we just did the whole show. It's Monday,
(00:27):
and I'm not once. Did I tell anybody to go
listen to or watch the TJ and JODI's House podcast
that is new today? Oh yeah, I am. I am
not good at selling the sizzle. I just am not.
You know, they say sell the sizzle as well as
the steak. I'm not good at selling the sizzle.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
But we just do what we do in real time,
and it's like we're just you know, we just keep
it real. It's not like we're trying.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
But I mean, we are supposed to promote other parts
of the of the you know, business.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
So we're not business when.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
We're yeah, when we're supposed to be trying to get
as many people watching and listening to these things as
possible to create revenue. Yeah, that's the main the R word,
you know. And I am so bad and I've always
been this way. I'm so bad at promoting myself. Yes
(01:30):
you are, and you know, if you if you're trying
to make it, you know, Riggins has taught me this.
If you're trying to make it through social media, if
you're trying to make a living through that, you've got
to be pretty much shameless. You got to be shameless
and constantly promoting yourself and talking about how great you are,
(01:53):
and you've got to go see this, it's great. You've
got to hear that, it's great. You know all of that.
But I'm just not good at that that.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I thought about this the other day actually before you
even said anything. You're not good at that. I'm not
good at that, and Riggins isn't good at it when
it comes to our own things. But Riggins is good
at promoting like the show or something you're doing, or
definitely something I'm because he's always like, make a video
for lindsay look you know so, but who put us
(02:25):
three together that we all don't. We're not like business
minded people. We're not like, let's try to sell sell
do that.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
We're just not like that.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
So that's frustrating, I think.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, And I think it's also very I don't know,
very telling as to why the company is balancing itself
right now on a toothpick.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, that could be. Yeah, well we don't even like
when someone comes in to manage or I don't know.
I'm speaking for myself, do you know what I'm saying.
Somebody could tell us all day until they're blue in
the face, but it's like we don't really listen.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
I know. That's the thing. That's what I'm saying. It's
it's my fault completely. When I'm not promoting things that
I should be promoting, I just I just forget. That's
the thing. I get caught up and doing the show
and we're moving and we're having fun and all of that,
and then I just forget, Hey, damn, we got a
(03:42):
new podcast up that we need to tell people to
listen to.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah. I know, it's a tough sitch, you know.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
It's always been that way. Yeah, and I were the
same way. If it came to promoting the ACE and
TJ show, we would rarely say, hey, make sure you
listen to our show, and no, no, this is going
to be great. Eh. I thought he was, well he
was when he would do that talking about you know,
(04:11):
his band and stuff. Come see the band. Yes, we're
gonna be tearing it up, ripping off faces, and you know,
the whole thing, because you know, I guess a lot
of that had to do with the fact that it
was bringing in money for the charity. You know, I
don't know, It's just I'm just too damn humble you are.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
That is unfortunately the problem.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
M But you know what, humble humble men lose everything
in this business.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
You could look at it that way. Yeah, but you
will have riches in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
So yeah, love that rigs love that well said.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Has anybody won that lottery, the big lottery?
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yet?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
The Mega Millions was up to eight hundred million dollars, No,
eight point fifty on Friday night?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Let me see he claimed.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
It on Friday, somebody wanted and didn't claim it.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Nobody wont it on Friday, and then now it's.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Still Tuesday night. The drawing is nine hundred million.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Okay, That's how we gotta win that somehow.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
That's why I'm thinking, because I mean, if we're depending
on making a living off of promoting ourselves, then that's
obviously not working. It's not going to work.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah, yeah, well how can you how would how do
we fix this then, so we know the issue you
just forgot. So do we all just need to remind you,
you know, every every couple of minutes or so to
promote it? Would that help you?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
No?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Maybe, right before we turned the mics one after a
break and we start talking, Hey, we got to promote
TJ and Jodie's House.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
M hmm.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
But then I look at it like, all right, we
only have a certain amount of time to be entertaining
right in between commercials and songs. So if I take up,
I got to figure out a way to promote the
TJ and Jody's House podcast being new. I got to
figure out how to promote that and make it entertaining. Yeah,
(06:15):
because there's not time for both.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
It's too much work, is what it is.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Unless you just rattle off like they do on ESPN Radio,
you know. So, and we're checking in on the on
the I don't know the red roof in guest line
stay at red roof in twenty five dollars a night
in some place. It's called one eight hundred red roof. Okay,
So now we're going to the to our guests and
blah blah blah. So I could do that maybe there's
(06:41):
a new TJ and Jody's House up. Go to TJ
riggins dot com find it, like it, subscribe. Now, as
I was talking about monkeys are on the loose.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
You know, it's it's I see what you're saying, because
it's not the type of show we do to just
do that. But maybe we're going to have.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
To do that.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Well, yeah, or we won't be doing any type of show,
right right, I mean I'll be entertaining people down to
the poorhouse.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Yeah, you have to change the name to TJ and Jody's,
like tent in the woods or something.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Hey, TJ and Jody's cardboard House.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah. I almost think it's easier if someone else says
it and then someone else goes into the like two
different people. Somebody says it and then the other person
just goes into their thing.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
The thing is it's not our show's not scripted. So
I think that that's part of the problem too. Yeah,
it's never been like.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
A no no. The problem is that I forget, Well,
every other show does it. Every other successful show promotes
themselves and if they have stuff on you know, special
on their website or their social media, they get that in. Yeah,
it's just I don't know. I'm just not I'm only
(08:14):
good for being a clown. That's basically all I am. Yeah,
I'm a damn clown.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
When I've lost my memory. So who do we have
to count on? Reagans? You gotta.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Anything outside of being a clown, I can't handle.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
You should just wear a note a clown.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Nose, Yeah, I have one somewhere.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, but even even Boso promoted himself.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Yeah, he said stick around for that Grand Prize game,
so he didn't promoted, he didn't go to commercial and go,
oh damn, I forgot to tell people the Grand Prize
game was next. Well, you know, all right, So I
(09:02):
guess that's it for this edition of Extra Downer Man.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Well, hopefully this will serve as like the promotion that
you didn't do during the regular show for the t
J and Jody's House.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
But I mean that would mean that somebody would be
listening to this, which we know they're not. Nobody listens
to this, you know why, because we don't ever promote it.
