The founder of the Veteran's Club was sentenced to six months in prison on Monday afternoon. Jeremy Harrell, a US Army combat Veteran faced a maximum of 10 years in prison. A federal jury in Kentucky convicted Harrell of theft of government benefits in August after he received more than $100,000 in unemployment benefits that he wasn't eligible for says the federal prosecutors. The Iraq war veteran says he suffers from Post Traumatic Stress. Jeremy started receiving VA unemployment benefits in 2011 and founded the nonprofit in 2019. Prosecutors argued Harrell was working 40-60 hours a week running the Veteran's Club while receiving TDIU unemployment benefits and allegedly lied to the government about it.
