Gathered Under His Wing |  Luke 13:31-35

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem….” These are words of exasperation—words spoken by Jesus as He laments over His people. If you are a parent, you’ve said these words. If you are a child, you’ve heard them. They express frustration, yet also deep love.

Jesus preached, but they would not listen. He rebuked, but they would not repent. Yet, in His mercy, He does not abandon them. Instead, He gathers them—as a hen gathers her brood under her wings. Even in our sin and rebellion, He loves us still.

Lent is a season of reflection and repentance, a time to heed the words of Joel 2:13: "Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love."
