Danielle La Rose (00:00):
Hey, happy
Turn Up Tuesday.
If you're one of my clients, you know I love Tuesday.
It's time to just like get hype, focus on our goals, focus on
all the things that we want toachieve.
And so today, my friend, I justgotta get real with you,
because so many women come to meand they're like what is wrong
(00:20):
with me?
Why can I not be successful?
Why do I struggle with workingout?
Why do I struggle with workingout?
Why do I struggle with eatinghealthy?
Why do I struggle to stayconsistent?
What's wrong with me?
How am I?
Why can I not be moredisciplined?
Like, why are there so manyother women who it seems to just
(00:41):
come naturally to them?
They love eating healthy, theylove working out, and even if
they don't love those things, they still find a way to make it
happen.
We got moms that have like fivekids and full-time job and like
they're still out going to thegym, working out, doing their
thing.
And you're like what is wrongwith me?
Why do I struggle with this?
And so I wanna just come herequickly to share the real reason
(01:06):
, the real one, why you're notsuccessful.
Because I see you, I know you, because I am you.
I know that the first thingthat you want to blame number
one is yourself.
You're like I wasn't born withthat gene.
I don't have that confidencemuscle or the discipline muscle
(01:26):
or the motivation muscle.
It's just, I just didn't getthat.
So there's something wrong withme.
So that's typically.
The first thing is we're likethe reason why I'm not
successful is because of myself.
The next reason why I'm notsuccessful is because I don't
have the right diet.
I don't know how to eat healthy.
I don't know if I should eatcarbs.
I don't know how to eat healthy.
I don't know if I should eatcarbs.
I don't know if I should eatfats.
(01:47):
I don't know if I should cutgluten or if I should cut out,
like all these things.
There are a million diets thatare on the market that you can
Google, and we all many of usare like how do I find the
perfect one?
What is the one for me?
That I should be doing, andwhile we're in this process of
figuring out the perfect dietfor myself, I'm sitting on the
(02:08):
couch eating McDonald's anddrinking Mountain Dew or that
was just me, but that's what wedo, right?
Because we're waiting for thatperfect diet plan and we're like
I just don't know how, I don'tknow what to do and we get stuck
there.
The other thing is we think thatthe reason that we're not
successful is because we don'thave the perfect workout, that
(02:30):
we don't belong to the perfectgym, we don't belong to the
right fitness studio, we don'tdo the right workouts.
So we're like I don't know ifI'm supposed to lift weights
three times a week.
I don't know if I'm supposed to, you know, work out seven days
a week or five days a week?
Is yoga good for me?
Is strength training every daygood for me?
Should I be running?
Should I be walking?
Should I be doing highintensity?
(02:50):
Oh my gosh, all of the options.
And so we go down this track ofwaiting and thinking that the
reason why we're not successfulis because of ourselves, because
we don't know what to eat orhow to eat, and we don't know
what to do for our workouts andif we're doing the right workout
and how to change that.
And so then we start blamingall of those things is the
(03:12):
reason why we don't have success.
Can you relate?
Can I get a like?
Yes, girl.
Oh my gosh, how do you know me?
Are you like in my house likestalking me?
The answer is no, but there's agood chance that that's
happened, because I've workedwith hundreds of women and, time
after time after time, that'salways what it comes down to.
(03:32):
When they come to me, they sayhelp me, I've tried all the
things.
I've tried all the diets, I'vetried all the workouts, I've
tried all the things.
What's wrong with me and theanswer is very simple is that
nothing is wrong with you.
Nothing's wrong with you.
The fact is that our society hasconvinced you that it needs to
be complicated, it needs to behard, it needs to be challenging
(03:55):
, it needs to be overwhelmingand stressful in order to be
successful.
So you think that you have tohave this perfect workout, this
perfect diet plan, that you haveto have the perfect discipline
and the perfect mindset and theperfect everything in order to
be successful, and so the realreason why you're not successful
(04:16):
is because you're making ithard.
I was going to come on here andtitle this do you want it hard,
soft or none of the above?
Right?
Do you want it hard, easy?
None of the above?
Because we often think that inorder to have success, in order
to make transformation in ourbodies and our health, and our
mindset is that it has to behard, it has to be overwhelming,
(04:39):
it has to be complicated.
Right?
We have to go from eatingMcDonald's and drinking Mountain
Dew to now one.
That's one day, so that'sMonday, and then on Tuesday, now
we're going to go to onlyeating organic, only eating
fruits and vegetables, onlyeating whole protein, only
eating right, and we're doing anhour and a half long workout at
the gym in the perfect clotheswith the perfect trainer.
(05:00):
And then we have to do thatevery single day for 90 days
with the idea that we are goingto reach the goal right.
After that 90 days, we're goingto accomplish the thing, we're
going to be successful, we'regoing to be healthy, we're going
to feel strong, we're going tobe healthy, we're going to like.
We have this vision that like, that is where it happens.
(05:22):
And we cross this finish line,we celebrate, and then what
happens?
I'll tell you what happens theworld keeps turning, the next
day happens and you get to do itagain, and then you're stuck
there thinking this isn't what Isigned up for.
I signed up for a journey thatI crossed the finish line and
(05:44):
I'm done because that's whatwe've been sold right.
If we do hard things for a shortamount of time, we'll lose
weight, we'll get super fit,we'll get super healthy and then
we'll be done.
Or maybe we don't even thinkthat we'll be done, but maybe
what we think is that we thinkthat our taste buds will change
and now we're no longer evergoing to crave unhealthy foods,
(06:06):
or our mindset's going to changeand now, all of a sudden, we're
going to love working out whenwe had never worked out for 23
years, and now, all of a sudden,we expect that we're going to
just love working out to whereit's like I got this every
single day, an hour and a halfright.
And so we have this idea ofwhat success looks like when it
comes to our health and ourwellness.
And the reason why we're notsuccessful is because we make it
(06:35):
hard.
Let me tell you what hard is.
Okay, hard, listen.
Your health doesn't need to behard.
It's not hard.
What is hard?
Hard is battling cancer.
Hard is losing a loved one.
We do hard things in life.
Hard is not knowing where yournext meal is coming from.
(06:58):
Hard is having kids that don'tfeel loved.
Hard is not having a roof overyour head and sleeping out on
the sidewalk.
There are hard things in life.
Getting healthy ain't one ofthem.
You know how to be healthy.
It's really freaking simple.
(07:20):
But here's the thing we thinkthat to get healthy to be
successful, we have to make ithard.
Right, we got to cut out awhole bunch of things, we have
to add in a whole bunch ofthings.
We have to flip our livesupside down from one day to the
next.
All of a sudden, we become awhole new human.
What ends up happening is weget stressed, we get overwhelmed
and we get frustrated, becausethat is challenging, it's
(07:43):
unnecessary and it's not part ofour lives.
It doesn't become our lifestyle, it just becomes an
overwhelming piece that we feellike we have to somehow fit into
a puzzle that it doesn't belongin.
And so we sign up for thingslike 75 Day Hard, and we wonder
why, on day 73, we don't make itthat far, my friends, we don't.
(08:07):
I have so many clients that cometo me and they're like I made
it to day eight and then I quit.
Then I tried again.
I made it to day 12 and then Imade it to day seven and then I
made it.
And I never made it because Ihad to keep starting over and
over again, because I had tofollow a strict diet, because I
had to work out two times a dayand I had to make one of those.
Now, getting outside isimportant and it's great.
(08:31):
I love a good outdoor workout,I love a good walk.
What if it's snowing?
What if it's raining?
And some of you would be likeI'm going to do it anyways, and
I love you for that.
But just because Susie Qdecides that walking in the snow
and ice is unsafe for herdoesn't make her unhealthy
because she does a workoutinside.
(08:55):
But that whole mindset is thatit has to be hard or you start
over.
It's crippling you, it'spreventing you from creating
serious long-term success.
And we know the average personwho loses weight which isn't my
goal for you, but it might beyour goal and if that's the case
, 95% of humans that lose weightgain it back.
(09:16):
That's science, that's in allof our personal training,
nutrition certification books.
That's facts.
So what we're doing isn'tworking because it's not
creating long-term success.
Because you're not creatingsuccess, you're creating another
thing to check off your list.
And your life is already hard.
(09:38):
Your life is alreadychallenging.
It's full, it's complicated,it's time-consuming.
Your health doesn't have to be,but what is the opposite of
hard?
Fun fact my book was justpublished.
I haven't shared that yet everuntil just now, but my book was
just published.
I haven't shared that yet everuntil just now.
But my book was just published.
But you can't get it yetbecause I'm gifting it to
(09:59):
everyone that signs up for the75 Healthy program.
They get to use the book and gothrough the whole program with
me and it's going to be amazing.
Okay, but when I was creatingthat, when I was publishing it,
I noticed that there's 75 hardbooks and there's 75 soft.
And I thought who wants to besoft?
Like that's what you know, thelingo is among men and like
(10:23):
sports and all the things islike they're soft, meaning that
they're weak, they're sensitive,they're right, like they're
soft.
Who wants to be soft?
Who wants it to be easy?
When I think of easy, which isthe opposite of hard, when I
think of easy, well, I guesssoft is the opposite of hard.
But anyways, you get the pointright, the idea still remains.
(10:44):
But when I think of easy, Ithink of lazy, I think of boring
, I think of no results, like Idon't want it to be easy either,
right, I don't want it to behard because, oh, that sounds,
that sounds torturous, right?
But I don't.
I also don't want it to be easybecause I want it to be
(11:06):
transformative, I want it to beimpactful.
I want it to be, you know, feel, right.
I want to challenge myself, Iwant to be proud of myself, and
doing something that's easydoesn't feel like that would
actually make me feel that way.
So if I don't want it to behard because my life is hard
enough, and if I don't want itto be easy or soft because that
seems boring and not like achallenge and not transformative
(11:31):
and not like I'm going to getresults, then where do I lie?
And for me, that's where Ilanded on this idea of 75
healthy, because I don't wantyou to have to do hard things, I
don't want you to have to doeasy things.
I want you to do healthy things.
I want you, at the end of anyprogram you do, any workout, any
meal plan you follow, anymindset transformation that you
(11:53):
create, any workout, any mealplan you follow, any mindset
transformation that you create,I want it to be all based around
this idea of being healthy.
Because, look, there's adifference between losing weight
and being healthy Two differentthings.
Okay, I know the world has gotyou wrapped around this idea
that when you lose weight you'rehealthy.
That ain't the case.
Anybody can help you loseweight.
(12:15):
Getting healthy is the goal whenyou create health habits.
That's when you create success.
That's when you createlong-term success.
That's when you create joy andhealth and happiness and
confidence and energy.
Right, here's the thing.
I don't care.
(12:36):
I do care.
Okay, I love you, I want you tobe super healthy.
But I judge that based on if youcome to me after we are working
together for 21, 30 days.
You come to me and you're likeoh my gosh, I've never had this
much energy.
I've never been so proud ofmyself for working out and
eating healthy.
I've never been able to make it30 days with drinking this much
(12:59):
water and moving my body thismuch.
I've never had this much fun ona health journey.
I've never felt the support andthe confidence in a journey
like this.
I've always thought it had tobe hard and I always thought it
had to be right, like dramatic.
Look, I love my realities to bedramatic, but I don't need my
(13:19):
health to be dramatic.
Okay.
I want it to be stable, I wantit to be consistent, I want it
to feel good, I want it to befun, I want it to be enjoyable
and, more importantly, I want tohave energy to live life.
I want to have energy to livelife.
I want time right.
For me, success is thinkingabout my body less, it's about
sure.
Yes, I'm going to do my workout.
(13:40):
Yes, I'm going to choosehealthy foods.
Yes, I'm going to drink mywater, but those things are just
in order.
So that way, I fuel my body, soI can fuel my life.
You don't need to spend an hourand a half working out every
single day.
You just don't.
I'm sorry, I know my personaltrainer, friends, nutrition,
(14:02):
like some of you are going tocome at me and be like Danielle.
Stop telling people that Idon't care, because that's the
truth.
You don't need to work out anhour and a half every single day
to be successful with yourhealth.
You don't.
You don't have to do a workoutoutside in order to be healthy.
You don't have to taketransformation pictures every
(14:28):
single freaking day to behealthy.
You don't have to follow a diet.
To be healthy, you don't have tomake it hard.
It gets to be focused on health.
So the reason why you're notsuccessful on your journey is
because you're so focused onmaking it hard, making it
(14:50):
complicated, feeling like itneeds to be challenging and
stressful and time-consuming andtake so much money in order to
be successful.
It doesn't have to be that way.
It gets to be focused on true, true health.
And when you focus on makingthose healthy habits, those
(15:11):
small little shifts every singleday to make it part of your
life, that is where you createsuccess.
And I'm also here to tell you,my friend, that if you are
putting, if you are hating onyour body and think that's going
to create success, you gotanother thing coming to you.
If you want to create truesuccess, you have to and I know
(15:35):
that's a strong thing to say youhave to make body gratitude,
body confidence, bodyappreciation your top priority.
We don't take care of thingsthat we don't appreciate and
love.
We just don't.
(15:56):
You cannot hate on your bodyand yet expect it to become
healthy.
You just can't.
The only way to truly createlong-term success with your
health is to do it at the sametime of creating a healthy
relationship with your body thatteaches you and assists you and
(16:20):
empowers you to talk positivelyabout your body, to show
gratitude for your body, tounderstand your body, to listen
to your body, to understand whyyou think the way that you think
about your body and yourfitness and your food, to have a
healthy relationship with yourbody, to where you're working
together, not against each other.
(16:41):
Most of food and fitness, ourdiet and our workouts we pin
them against our bodies.
We pin ourselves against ourbodies.
Our minds are fighting againstour bodies, and we will never
win with our health, with ourhappiness, with our joy, with
our energy, if we are in aconstant battle with our bodies
(17:02):
and how we feel towards them.
So my original point was thatyou won't ever have success if
you make everything hard, butreally, I guess, now that I'm
talking through this with youwhich I love talking to you now
that I'm talking through thisthe first place you have to
start and understand is that youwill never have success in your
(17:25):
health if you don't first focuson the confidence you have in
your body and learning to likeit and appreciate it until you
can love it.
Here's the good news, though youcan do both of those things the
same exact time.
You can make healthy choices.
You can work out and choosehealthy foods and drink your
(17:46):
water, and do the things at thesame time that you're learning
how to love and appreciate andvalue your body, and together
they will create true long-termsuccess mentally, physically,
emotionally so you can live yourbest life, so you can think
about your body less and stopthinking so much about your
(18:06):
diets and your workouts, and youjust do those things simply,
basically every single day, orconsistently at least, and then
we get to that point where it'sjust second nature.
You do it.
It's like brushing your teeth, taking a shower, like.
You just do it, you don't eventhink about it.
So that way you can use yourbrain power, you can use your
time and your energy to live thelife that you want, to pursue
your passions, build yourbusiness, raise amazing humans,
(18:29):
apply for the big job, be theCEO of a company, whatever it is
that you desire to do.
That's what you were put onthis earth to do.
You were not put on this earthto stress and overwhelm about
food and fitness.
It doesn't have to be hard.
So if I have drilled that intoyour head, if I have drilled
(18:52):
that into your head enough overthese past few minutes that I've
been chatting with you that itdoesn't have to be hard and the
way to create success is tocreate health habits and combine
it with body confidence andshifting your mindset around
your body.
If I've convinced you of thatand you're like okay, girlfriend
, I hear you and you're like,you know what I've done all
those things.
Right, I start.
I've tried 75 day hard, or I'vedone the crazy intense workouts
(19:12):
, or I've tried the diet pills,or I've taken shots, or I've
done the intense workouts.
I joined gyms, I quit gyms.
I'm just constantly up and downand starting and stopping and
falling off track and tryingagain and it's just, I'm done.
It's just I'm done, I am sodone.
I just want something to besimple.
I want it to be fun.
(19:33):
I want it to be doable andmanageable with my life.
I want it.
I want to have support.
I want to shift my mindsetaround how I feel about my body.
If that's you and you're like,please teach.
Please tell me how I can makethis simple, how I can make it
healthy, how I can make it aboutloving my body and appreciating
my body and not overwhelmingand stressful.
(19:54):
If you're saying that's you andyou're like, tell me, tell me,
tell me the ways.
I'm just going to be reallyhonest with you.
I know the way to shift todoing something different, which
is why I created 75 Healthy 75Day Healthy, and I truly believe
(20:16):
that this is where we canchange the game for women and
girls Like I love you as a woman.
You're awesome.
My real mission is that I helpyou shift the way that you think
about food and fitness in yourbody so you can be a great
example to the little girls, sowhen they grow up, they don't
need body confidence coacheslike me, that they already feel
(20:38):
confident in their body.
And we do that by being anexample to those girls of how to
treat our bodies in a lovingway, how to work out in a
healthy way, how to approachfood in a healthy way.
And so if you are someone who'slike I've been doing it the hard
(21:01):
way for a long time and I'mtired.
I'm tired of hating on my body,I'm tired of stressing about
what to eat, what not to eat,I'm tired of feeling like I need
to do hour, hour and a halflong workouts every single day.
I'm tired of second guessingeverything and I literally just
want simple things to do everysingle day to just help me feel
(21:22):
better, to help me move in theright direction, to not be
dramatic, but just make simplechanges so I feel really good,
so I increase my energy, so Iincrease my confidence and I
shift my mindset around my bodyand food and fitness.
And if that's you, then I'mgoing to drop a link and I would
(21:42):
just love to have you part ofthis.
All right, friends, so that'sour episode of the day.
I would love to support you.
And if this supported you andyou're like, oh my gosh, I've
been doing this hard.
Or you have a friend who isalways the one starting the new
diet, doing the crazy workouts, and you're like, sister, come on
with it, can we please keepthis simple?
If you have that friend in yourlife, go ahead, just share this
(22:05):
and you can lie about it.
You can just be like, oh mygosh, this girl's really funny
and weird.
Maybe you should listen to thisand we could talk about her.
You know, like it's fine, like,if you don't want to be like,
hey, you need to listen to thisbecause you need to stop doing
things the way you've been doingthem.
We don't need to say that toour besties.
Okay, you can just gently putit out there and be like this
(22:26):
girl's okay to lie.
Okay, just go ahead and lie andsay I'm funny, okay, I'm not,
but just act like it it's cool.
And just, you know, drop thisin their inbox, just in case
that this could support them.
Okay, all right, I will see youor hear you or talk.
You know what I mean.
Next episode I got you, sister.
Bye, friend.
