We must know defensiveness is the arch enemy of connection.
And also the arch enemy of listening.
As parents, leaders, and caregivers, CONNECTION has to be our highest priority.
We have little to no impact or influence without it!
Being defensive is defined as becoming anxious to avoid criticism; defensiveness is also defined as a behavior intended to defend or protect ourselves and our ego…. we don’t want to be wrong.
It's an automatic fear of wrongdoing.
We do not want to be the cause or to blame for the issue; becoming defensive is the reaction of war, it is s fight mentality to non life or death, non-war issues.
