Laten we eerlijk zijn: hoe vaak blijf je hangen in iets dat allang niet meer werkt? Omdat je hoopt dat het beter wordt. Omdat je bang bent voor wat erna komt. Omdat je liever iets hebt dan niets.
Ik ook. Te lang.
Tot het moment kwam dat ik moest kiezen: mezelf of deze relatie. Eén ding kan ik je zeggen – de breuk was pijnlijk, maar blijven was erger als je niet (meer) gewaardeerd wordt. Soms is een relatiebreuk niet alleen het einde van ‘wij’, maar het begin van ‘ik’.
