Lydia Jacoby, a Gold and Silver Medalist in the 100m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay at the 2020 Olympics, shares her journey to Tokyo. She takes us through how she overcame the difficult age of 12-14 when all of her friends began dropping out of sport, all the way to becoming an Olympian at 17 years old. Lydia shares the difficulties of training during the pandemic, and highlights the importance of having people who support you, be it the community from her hometown in Alaska, or coaches and family. Lydia also emphasizes the importance of personalizing our training and listening to our bodies; knowing when they need time off and when to push in training. She reminds us to “Find your type of confidence, find your type of training, remember to take breaks and recognize that that's all okay.”- Lydia Jacoby.
