individual with the Divine.
Join us as we explore the practices to

(00:25):
initiate this process.
(Music) Good morning.
Welcome to The Voice of
Yoga Let's Talk Consciousness.
I am your hostess, Lisa Winton, and with
me is Kenny Toy, also known as Swami
Jayananda, founder of the Institute for
Personal Development, located here in
Hampton, New Hampshire.
Good morning, Swami.
Thank you for being here today.

(00:46):
How are you?
Good morning.
I'm doing pretty good today.
How about you?
I'm doing great today too.
Thanks for asking.
And we'd like to thank
you all for tuning in.
Today in The Voice of Yoga, we will talk
about the development of the faculty
which receives Divine revelation as the
essential component in
Scientific demonstration.

(01:08):
Listen as we explain the difference
between doing good as a human and
delivering the Omnipresence of Divine
Truth as the Immortal Self.
In this episode, we will discuss the
esoteric idea of sin when the false is
mistaken for the true, distinguishing
between the human intuitions from
Spiritual inspiration.

(01:29):
Welcome to The Voice of Yoga.
We are Talking Consciousness.
Join the Kriya Yoga Spiritual Advance to
get the light in your
soul and serve the Truth.
Swami, the title of today's show is
"Becoming Servants of the Most High."
Tell us what your inspiration was for
this particular episode.
What we mean by serving the Most High,

(01:52):
not as a person doing good deeds, but as
the channel for the Divine will to
express itself through
what seems to be a you here.
So what is the Most High?
It is the revealing of the Divine

(02:12):
creation, exposing the Perfection of
Being, conscious awareness of Divine
Truth must bring forth
the Perfection of Being.
And when we don't have this coincidence
between the human and the Divine,
something isn't right.

(02:34):
So today we'll talk about what is
required to be a
servant of the Most High.
Swami, what would you recommend would be
our first step in order to be able to
become servants of the Most High?
The first thing we have to recognize is
we have something that has to be done.

(02:54):
Using the integration put together
between Kriya Yoga, which is a Spiritual
Science with very explicit methodology.
It's a path of action, it's a path of
knowledge, it's a path of devotion.
Teaching it and practicing it for 25
years and then finding out I am not able

(03:17):
to demonstrate Divine
Law was quite a shock.
Being exposed to Christian
Science was very helpful.
Some of the Christian Science requests
that I was able to put together is have a
Principle and a rule, have a proper sense
of the Infinite, educate thought up to

(03:40):
Spiritual apprehension, develop the
Spiritual sense of
perception or perceptive faculty.
These are some of the things you will get
as you integrate the two systems.
And what we recently acquired from Mary
Baker Eddy's Spiritual Healing, "developed

(04:02):
the Spiritual sense or perceptive faculty
by which one learns the metaphysical
treatment of disease."
This opens up a series of questions.
Realizing Divine Truth in consciousness
would be like finding a
Lear jet in your backyard.

(04:25):
Wow, what do I do with it?
Let's unbox it.
Things to take into consideration like
starting with my level of consciousness
and degree of awareness.
On one end of it, do I
even know what a plane is?
If I don't, I could cut the wings off,

(04:47):
cut open the top, fill it with dirt and
plant flowers in it.
Everything depends on your level of
consciousness and degree of awareness.
Not even good or bad, right or wrong.
It's going to be individual based on what
you know and what you are looking to do.

(05:10):
Can I fly a plane?
If I can't, am I willing to learn?
I could sell it.
I have options.
Depending on my creativity, I can open
this up or shut it down.
Do I have the money to
move the plane to an airport?
So today we assume you know what Divine

(05:33):
Truth is and you have a willingness to
learn what to do with it.
Because to be a servant of the Most High,
you must be willing to
give up all for Christ.
So Swami, let's talk about some of those
Christian Science
requests that are needed.

(05:54):
What is a Principle and a rule?
Yeah, the Principle is the
foundation of Divine Science.
You must Know the Truth.
The Divine creation is the only Reality.
The Omnipresent Perfection
of Being is all that is here.

(06:17):
The rule, like attracts like.
For us to call this Divine creation into
expression, we must know
ourselves in the way we are created.
The Divine creation is Spirit, which
means it's Whole, Complete.
To call that into expression like the

(06:39):
Bible says, "Ask in my
name,"-- ask in my likeness.
I must know myself to be
Spirit, Perfect, Whole, Complete.
One with the Divine Principle, which
becomes a trick question.
If I understood Life was Perfect
everywhere always, what

(07:01):
would I be asking for?
And so now we'll start to see the
relativity of these
Christian Science requests.
Having a proper sense of the Infinite.
If I don't know the Divine creation is
Perfect, I still believe
is mental-material concept.

(07:23):
And I have a belief in this Divine
creator that rewards and punishes.
I don't have a Principle and therefore I
can't demonstrate the Divine Law.
And that will leave me under karmic law,
which is driven by a belief in two powers,
the cycle of death and rebirth.

(07:46):
Once we overcome this belief in two powers,
we have overcome the
false sense of existence.
But in order to do this, we have to
educate our thought up
to Spiritual apprehension.
Why?
Because the mind that we're using to get

(08:07):
us through this lifetime is
incapable of Knowing the Truth.
We can't bring forth the Divine image.
So that brings us back to this idea of
developing the faculty that
enables us to perceive the Truth.
This is what was called the birth of

(08:28):
Christ in consciousness.
Christ, the saving aspect
of Truth, the interface.
This is why it's of the utmost importance
to develop this faculty.
But it begins with
being born again of Spirit.
And that's a process.

(08:48):
So if that's a process, Swami, it sounds
like the Kriya Yoga would be a good place
for people maybe to
start learning the process.
I think it's important to
integrate the two systems.
If you don't have a Principle, one of the
reasons why I discovered it failed.

(09:08):
I did not have the Principle.
I really like what Mary Baker Eddy wrote
in Science and Health with Key to the
Scriptures, page 142,
4-10, and I'll read it.
"Anciently, the followers of Christ or
Truth measured Christianity by its power
over sickness, sin, and death.

(09:31):
But modern religions generally omit all
but one of these
powers, the power over sin.
We must seek the undivided garment, the
whole Christ, as our
first proof of Christianity.
For Christ, Truth alone can furnish us

(09:52):
with absolute evidence."
End of quote.
This is the importance of putting
healing on the table.
Without demonstration, without proving
what it is that you are
calling the Divine Principle.
So we definitely want to start to look
for this coincidence
between the human and the Divine.

(10:15):
If we don't know the Divine Principle, or
the term in the Bible is sin, the term in
Kriya Yoga is avidya.
We're mistaking the
impermanent for the permanent.
We think we're Spirit.
We think we know Truth.
But we're working with a concept, and it

(10:35):
doesn't demonstrate.
Swami, I'm curious about what you just said,
the phrase "seek the undivided garment."
It sounds like we need
to learn what that means.
Yeah, this is exactly what we talk about.
Knowing the difference between thought
and idea-- mental-material, and Spiritual.

(10:59):
Mental-material is dualistic.
It's in half.
It's the divided garment.
That's why in the Bible where it says,
"Except the Lord build the house, they
labor in vain that build it."
When we do things with personal sense,
human will, we're working with duality,

(11:22):
fear, and limitation.
We're working with the unreal, the false
sense of existence, the reflection.
It is not until we develop this faculty,
it's like trying to get
your email with a calculator.
It's not that there is anything
intrinsically evil with a calculator.

(11:44):
It's just incapable of being able to
deliver what it is
you're asking it to do.
And the same with the mortal mind.
Working with the mind that can't bring
forth the Divine image, and then trying
to see how you're making this work.

(12:05):
That's why it's very different between an
outcome and Divine inspiration.
The difference between doing my will,
thinking that doing good human deeds is
what God wants me to
do, and Knowing the Truth.

(12:25):
Being that place where Divine Mind is
doing its thinking and your awareness.
This is an inner dynamic.
Learning how to control how you think.
Learning eventually how to stop thinking.
Making your mind an avenue of awareness
for the operation of Divine Mind.

(12:46):
Mortal mind thinks in duality.
It's the divided garment.
Even if you bring forth an image, it's
not the Divine image.
It is a mix of good and evil.
It is under the government
of karmic law, material law.

(13:06):
And you are not free from the belief in
the polar opposites.
If it's good, it has a complementary,
unmanifested, bad part.
Spirit is Whole.
Like Mary Baker and he
said, "The whole Christ."
Christ is Whole.

(13:27):
Truth is Whole.
Swami, I'm curious about the phrase when
she says, "The whole Christ."
Can there be a half a Christ?
How are we supposed to interpret that?
Well, the whole Christ, the whole Truth.
God did not make anything that can die.
Human thought, human belief, human

(13:49):
theories, human conjecture.
This would be the concept of the Christ.
It would be the belief in something that
does not have the power to overcome the
false sense of existence.
We talked about von Neumann's chain, this

(14:09):
idea in quantum physics that when
somebody makes a measurement or takes a
thought, the wave falls into a particle
and it remains until it's met by
something that isn't
bound by the same rules.
Karmic law is driven by
a belief in two powers.

(14:30):
Divine Law is under the
government of One Power.
There aren't polar
opposites in Divine Truth.
Divine Truth trumps karmic law.
That's why Mary Baker said,
"Anciently the followers of Christ or
Truth measured Christianity by its power

(14:52):
over sickness, sin and death."
It's a demonstrable Principle.
Spirit is provable, however, but we must
be conscious of it in order
to activate it in experience.
And thinking about it is not the same as
being conscious of it.

(15:13):
So these are important distinctions we
have to learn how to make.
We're going to pause right here to hear a
word from our sponsor.
Listeners, we'll be back
with you in just a few moments.

(15:33):
Kriya Yoga Spiritual Advance at Institute
for Personal Development Incorporated,
Kriya Yoga Ashram, is a complete program
for anyone looking to demonstrate Divine
Law with Scientific certainty.
To demonstrate Divine Law, conscious
awareness of Divine Truth is necessary.
The Spiritual Advance
starts with the Divine creation.

(15:54):
Beginning with the
Principle, Life is Perfect.
Resting in the knowledge, Life is
Eternal, formless,
Changeless and Absolute Good.
The practitioner retreats from the
obstructions which are the veiling
conditions of the mortal mind.
Then rests in the
knowledge of the Divine Principle.
Thus revealing the precept,

(16:14):
consciousness is experience.
Visit the website www.iptransform.com
and begin living under Spiritual Truth.
Welcome back to those of you who are just
joining us, you're listening to The Voice
of Yoga and we are talking consciousness.
Swami, it seems like I think you just

(16:35):
answered my last curiosity and that would
be what she says, "For Christ's Truth
alone can furnish us
with absolute evidence."
So this means if we don't have this power
over sickness and in death, it means we
don't have the evidence.
Yeah, if you are not finding that coincidence

(16:56):
between the human and the Divine, then
like we said, you have to
go back to the drawing board.
Because Truth in consciousness resolves
things into thoughts and exchanges the
objects of sense for the Divine idea.
This is one of the reasons why it is so

(17:16):
important to start to
understand how to employ,
start with a proper sense of the
Infinite, know the Principle and then
start with a belief
in the Divine creation.
Belief in Divine Truth
then graduates to faith.

(17:39):
Faith is the substance of things hoped
for, the evidence of things unseen.
Belief in Divine Truth starts to
demonstrate the Divine creation.
You start to see the
evidence in the sense testimony.
The next octave of this is your faith in

(18:00):
the Divine Principle will graduate to
understanding where you are now
demonstrating Divine Law
with Scientific certainty.
Swami, I like this demonstration in the Bible.
This is from Acts 16:16-18
, and I'll read it.
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer,

(18:20):
a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of
divination met us, which brought her masters

much gain by soothsaying (18:26):
The same followed
Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men
are the servants of the most high which shew
unto us the way of salvation.
And this did she many days. But
Paul being grieved turned and said to the
Spirit, "I command thee in the name of
Jesus Christ to come out of her."

(18:47):
And he came out the same hour."
End of the story here.
Swami, what are your thoughts about this?
Well again, I think it's important to
understand the difference
between psychic and Spiritual.
And so the idea of divination, people
that can tell the future, is very similar

(19:08):
to like what we say.
We say you can change finite bad to
finite good with thought and belief.
And it gives you this outcome.
But these outcomes are not the same as
revelation of the Divine Principle.
The Divine creator is
running a Perfect universe.

(19:30):
The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
When we receive this Divine revelation,
it dissolves the belief
in the false sense of self.
Spirit is everywhere always.
There's no time, space, concept, belief,
form, matter, thinking, human will,

(19:50):
personal sense, in Divine Truth.
No sickness, suffering,
disease, lack or limitation.
The Divine creation is
Perfect, Whole, Complete.
Again, but we must be conscious of this
in order to activate
it in our experience.
And for us to be conscious of it, we need

(20:11):
the faculty that
enables us to perceive it.
Relativity, coming to the Christ.
The saving aspect of Truth, the interface
which now makes the Divine creation
comprehensive to human consciousness.
Repent, think differently.
Having the Mind of Christ, which heals

(20:34):
the sick, reforms sin, raises the dead.
It doesn't fix the mental
material world of energy.
It reveals the Truth,
the Divine creation.
Swami, I like that analogy that you had said
earlier about finding that Lear jet in the
backyard and how realizing Divine Truth

(20:56):
can be that wow! experience.
So when we get to that point, what do we
do with it from there?
Well, like we said, it's
going to be very individual.
It's going to depend on your level of
consciousness, your degree of awareness.
Somebody who doesn't even know what an
airplane is, it has no value to them.

(21:19):
And for somebody who doesn't know what
Divine Truth in consciousness really
means, it has no value to them.
And so we would ignore it and continue
doing what's safe,
familiar, comfortable, and known.
But for those listening to this podcast
and do have an interest in developing the
faculty that will enable you to receive

(21:42):
Divine inspiration, you might want to
look at the Kriya Yoga.
It is a systematic Science, a path of
action, a path of
knowledge, a path of devotion.
You initiate a process in development
where you go from unconscious awareness
to self-conscious awareness to
super-conscious awareness.

(22:04):
It is suggested in the Bible, like we
have been saying, born of woman, born of
man, born of Spirit.
These are levels of consciousness,
degrees of awareness we have to develop
in order for us to be able to know the
Truth that will make us free.
So it's going to depend on where you are.

(22:27):
The reason I like the Kriya Yoga so much
is because they work
with the physical body.
The physical body is a
diagram of the mortal mind.
So your body gives you
clues as to how you're thinking.
We also know there are modes of thinking,

(22:48):
three modes of mortal
thought we have to master.
And in Kriya Yoga we start
with what's called pranayama.
It is the Science of the relationship
between what we'll call life-sustaining
force number one thought and
life-sustaining force number two breath.

(23:08):
And that relationship is the duration of
a breath equals the
duration of a thought.
It doesn't control your mode of thinking
nor the content of your thought.
We learn how to work with human will,
personal sense, and the idea of my

(23:28):
highest understanding of right.
And at the same time you learn once you
have achieved your highest understanding
of right, you learn how to stop thinking,
make your mind aware for
the presence of Divine Mind.
And then in that Silence and Stillness

(23:50):
you let Divine Mind take over the
scientific government of your body.
And so there's this whole
inner event that takes place.
And it reminds me of whether you're
driving a car or driving a boat or flying
a plane, it has procedure.

(24:11):
So in a car the idea of shifting gears
becomes an important thing.
The idea of using a rear view mirror,
using a side mirror,
looking at the road ahead of you.
Spiritual practice is the same way only
you're working in a completely different

(24:33):
dimension that doesn't have time, space,
concept, belief, theory,
matter, form, no
thinking, no personal sense.
It's a complete surrender of this false
sense of existence and it is a total

(24:55):
reliance on an Immortal Self.
One perfect Divine Being looking at
Itself, as Itself, of
Itself, and to Itself.
And then we learn
consciousness is experience.
Conscious awareness of this Divine Truth

(25:17):
takes care of what seems to be this
finite mortal sense of existence.
Swami, listening to you answer this
question that I hear often
and that is, "Why am I here?"
Would you explain that further please?
Yeah, there's only one purpose for

(25:37):
incarnation, to glorify the Creator,
which is done by bearing
the fruits of the Spirit.
Scripture says we do this by keeping the
commandments or keeping the Word.
So what does this really mean?
Because it's evident it

(25:58):
doesn't mean being a good human.
It means way more than
following Christ or Truth.
It means heal the sick,
reform sinner, raise the dead.
So troubleshooting Spiritual service.

(26:18):
Ask yourself,
do I Know the Truth?
Well, am I healing the sick, reforming
sinner, raising the dead?
If yes,
you are that place where
Divine Truth is expressing Itself.
Stay in the Spirit of Truth.
If no, do you have a

(26:40):
willingness to give up all for Christ?
Because there is no
halfway measure to do this.
You don't do this in part.
Spirit is Whole.
It's complete.
There is no such thing as being a little
bit conscious of Divine Truth.

(27:01):
It's like being a little bit pregnant.
Either you are or you're not.
Truth in consciousness will dissolve the
false sense of existence.
It will reveal the Perfection of the
Omnipresent Divine Principle.

(27:21):
Even though you may have this willingness
to do it, you have to understand to the
degree that you are committed to it.
Again, coming back to the
Kriya Yoga, why I like it.
It gives you
strategies that you can employ.
Skillful use of thought,
skillful use of breath, skillful use of

(27:43):
water, skillful use of
food, skillful use of exercise.
Just for openness, that's
part of your path of action.
You also have to educate your thought up
to Spiritual apprehension
and a path of knowledge.
You need a mental landscape that will

(28:04):
support the Divine Idea.
It's not just about doing and
it's not just about knowing.
It's about knowing and doing until you
create that opportunity where you start
to graduate from belief to faith.
You have separated from being

(28:25):
individualized by the world mind and you
have rejoined with the invisible,
intangible Divine Omnipresence.
And you have this primary relationship with
the Divine Principle connected to
something pure,
powerful, sacred, dependable.

(28:46):
Your inner environment is imbued with the
bliss, the wonder, awe of knowing the
Divine Truth and you
are bringing it forth.
This is what we mean by
serving the Most High.
You are that place where Divine Truth is

(29:07):
expressing itself through you and you're
getting that coincidence between the
human and the Divine in
the testimony of your senses.
