(00:01):
Voice of Yoga.
Welcome to the Institute for Personal
Development, Kriya Yoga Ashram, where
Total Consciousness is the new frontier.
Kriya Yoga is union of the
individual with the Divine.

(00:22):
Join us as we explore the practices to
initiate this process.
Good morning, welcome to the Voice of
Yoga Let's Talk Consciousness.
I am your hostess, Lisa Winton, and with
me is Kenny Toy, also known as Swami
Jayananda, founder of the Institute for
Personal Development, located here in

(00:42):
Hampton, New Hampshire.
Good morning, Swami.
Thank you for being here today.
How are you?
Good morning.
I'm doing pretty good today.
How about you?
Well, I'm doing great today too.
Thanks for asking.
And we'd like to thank
you all for tuning in.
Today on The Voice of Yoga, we will talk
about the importance of demonstrating
Divine Law with Scientific certainty to

(01:04):
break the hypnotism of mortality.
Listen as we explain the folly of merely
believing in anything, because belief is
the life force of the
mental-material illusion.
Step out of the false claims and
exaggerated promises of
pseudo-spiritualism.
In this show, we will explain why James
says, "Faith without works is dead."

(01:26):
In the same way, talk
doesn't cook the rice.
Religion without
demonstration is superstition.
Welcome to The Voice of Yoga.
We are Talking Consciousness.
Join the Kriya Yoga Spiritual Advance to
get the light in your soul and prove the
Omnipresence of Eternal Life.
Swami the title of today's show is,

(01:47):
"Taking Religion Beyond Superstition."
What can you tell us about this title?
Yeah, to take human
potential beyond the level of belief.
Religion means to relink.
And to relink, we must first disconnect
from the mental-material false sense of

(02:08):
life and then rejoin with
the Spirit or Truth of Being.
This is an inner event with an evidence
procedure and then test the connection.
In this show, we can equate superstition
with the word "belief."

(02:29):
So belief must graduate to faith and
faith must graduate to understanding.
Spirit is a demonstrable Principle and
testifies with deeds, not merely words.
This will help you challenge the false
claims and exaggerated promises of

(02:50):
orthodox religious beliefs which don't go
far enough to eliminate the superstition.
What happens when we put the message of
the Christ on the table, heal the sick,
reform sin or raise the
dead as the new standard?
To do this, we separate human conjecture

(03:11):
from Divine revelation and only accept
the coincidence between the human and the
Divine, moving us beyond the placebo
effect of science and religion,
establishing a clear distinction between
karmic law and Spiritual

(03:32):
Law, belief and understanding,
human satisfaction and Spiritual Knowing.
So Swami, the first question I have
is the first line of the summary.
To break the hypnotism of mortality, we
have to demonstrate Divine Law with

(03:53):
Scientific certainty.
What does that look like when we do it
and why is it important?
Whatever we believe in, if that's as far as we
go, we consider that superstition.
Belief is a hypnotic state driven by
polar opposite forces

(04:13):
perceived by the corporeal senses.
Religion must take an individual beyond
corporeal sense by definition to relink
to the unified state above duality.
What can be known as walking in the
Kingdom of Heaven on earth?

(04:34):
So what is God?
What is Spiritual power?
How does one demonstrate Divine Law with
Scientific certainty?
Principle and rule, absent from the body
and present with the Lord.
Know God aright and know
yourself in the way God knows you.

(04:55):
Spirit.
Spirit is One, One Life,
One Being, everywhere always.
And as Jesus told us, "Know the Truth and
it will make us free.
The Truth is, there is but
One Life and It's Perfect.

(05:16):
So at some point we have to challenge
what it is that we're calling life.
And as the Bible says," ye are dead.
Life is hid with Christ in God."
Now what we have to
figure out is what is Christ.
Christ being the saving aspect of Truth.
Christ is what makes the Divine creation,

(05:39):
the Perfection of Being comprehensive to
human consciousness.
And it's not just
something you believe in anymore.
We must Know this Truth and then as Jesus
said, believe my deeds.
So we have to prove what we're calling
this Divine Perfection is demonstrable.

(06:04):
Swami, can we talk a little bit more
about the hypnotic state?
How do we know when we're in a hypnotic
state driven by these polar opposite
forces that you talked about earlier?
The testimony of our corporeal senses is
the check engine light on
the dashboard of consciousness.
How we think is what we become.

(06:27):
Whatever it is appearing is going to
give you an indicator of
what you are conscious of.
One of the things we know is all the
good, beautiful and true attributes
belong to the Divine.
The idea of knowing God aright.
It's one of the reasons why orthodox
religion fails so bad is because we don't

(06:49):
have an accurate description
of what the Divine creation is.
We think it's a mix of good and bad.
The problem with that is we are still
under the belief in two powers.
And like we say, this
is the hypnotic state.
It's a belief.
Truth is Absolute Goodness.

(07:11):
It's not a mix of good and evil.
And so if we have in the testimony of our
senses this contradiction, we have good
and bad, we must know that it
didn't come from Divine Mind.
And so we treat it differently.
You no longer accept it because you know

(07:32):
it's hypnosis, belief.
It's not backed by the Divine Principle.
You can't just go by good and bad because
of the nature of the beast.
The mental-material world of energy is a
mix of good and bad.
So we can have what's called finite good.

(07:55):
The biggest barrier, because we accept
finite good and we reject finite bad,
still under the law of karma, you're not
free from karmic law, which
is what scripture promises.
Know the truth and it makes you free from
the belief in mortality.

(08:17):
And then the next octave of this is
graduating from belief in the Divine
creative Principle to faith, where your
belief in this Divine Principle then
begins to demonstrate.
Swami, you had said Principle and a rule, and
absent from the body

(08:37):
and present with the Lord.
Can you describe for us what that means?
What does that look
like when we're doing that?
In order to demonstrate Divine Law with
Scientific certainty, you need this
Principle and you need the rule.
The Principle being God is all.

(08:58):
The Divine creation is
Absolute Goodness without opposite.
If you don't have that, you don't have a
Principle and therefore you can't
demonstrate the Law.
The rule is like attracts like.
You can't put an
infinite Mind in a finite form.

(09:20):
We must know ourselves in the way we are
known by the Spirit.
Spirit is Whole.
It's complete.
There's only One.
And so if there's a me looking for
anything, I violate the rule.
Therefore I can't demonstrate the Law.

(09:41):
My identity has to shift from physical to
astral-mental to causal Spiritual.
That's a process.
Born of woman, born
of man, born of Spirit.
There are things I must be doing to be
able to develop the faculty that enables

(10:03):
me to perceive the invisible, intangible
Divine Omnipresence.
The problem is we never challenge it.
Get beyond belief in God, belief in the
devil, belief in miracles.
Graduating from belief to faith to
understanding gives you a litmus test so

(10:24):
that you don't have to wait until your
body expires for you to prove what you're
calling the Divine
Principle is the One True Truth.
On a simplistic level, Spirit reflects
and mental-material absorbs.

(10:46):
One is for giving and
the other is for getting.
One believes in the many and the other
Knows there's only One
Perfect Divine Being.
Everywhere always.
One has this element of fear.

(11:07):
Fear is the defense mechanism for this
false sense of self.
So it is in chronic anxiety.
It is always looking and searching.
It needs reinforcement,
looking for validation.
Spirit rests in the knowledge.
Life is Perfect.

(11:27):
Nothing ever needs to be
added to it or taken away.
And as your identity shifts from physical
to astral-mental to Spiritual, your
thought basis now starts to change.
You know the difference between thinking
with five corporeal senses under the

(11:49):
government of karmic law.
You recognize the limitations of material
law and you know what it looks like when
you have the confidence, the calmness of
Knowing Life is Perfect.
So Swami, how does Spirit reflect?

(12:11):
If you've ever seen a lake or a pond or a
body of water when it is
calm, it has this mirror effect.
Thinking is what it looks like when the
wind is blowing and the water is all
turbulent and it's rough and it's very
difficult to see any kind

(12:33):
of reflection in the water.
So Spirit is the calmness, the stillness
that passes human understanding.
And when thought shifts from a mental
material basis, which is in constant
search mode, it is thinking, forming

(12:53):
thoughts and opinions based on
information coming
through the corporeal senses.
The waters are disturbed.
They're turbulent.
With spiritual understanding comes the
calmness and now the
mind is like a mirror.
And when the mind is like a mirror, now

(13:14):
you can reflect or express the operations
of Divine Mind in your awareness.
It's when we're trying, striving,
struggling, seeking, planning, asking,
we're interfering with our ability to
allow Divine Mind to take over.

(13:37):
We're going to pause right
here to hear from our sponsors.
Listeners will be back with
you in just a few moments.

(14:43):
Welcome back.
For those of you just joining us, you're
listening to The Voice of Yoga and we are
Talking Consciousness.
So Swami, what do you believe would be
the superstitions that are preventing us
from moving forward Spiritually?
The two biggest superstitions preventing
liberation, the first is evil is an

(15:03):
enormous hurdle to overcome.
It must be destroyed at all costs.
And the second is God is all and there is
nothing that needs to be done.
It's a contradiction to think God rewards
and punishes or created evil.
However, if this is what you believe, it

(15:26):
is your belief that gives
evil the life it doesn't have.
On the other hand, to say
God is all, all is good.
Therefore, all I have to do is believe in
God and I will be taken in on God's
demonstration may not be reliable.

(15:48):
Remember belief is a hypnotic state driven by
the concept of two powers.
In belief there is both good and bad,
which is a swinging pendulum.
And with thought and belief, it's
possible to change finite bad to finite
good, which may then be

(16:11):
mistaken as freedom or Truth.
The mental-material world of illusion is
the cycle of death and rebirth and it's
under the law of karma.
In order for us to break this hypnotic
state, we need to Know the Truth.

(16:32):
And in order to Know the Truth, we need
to develop the faculty that enables us to
perceive the Divine creation.
So there are contingencies here.
Spirit is Whole, Eternal Life without
opposite, Changeless and Perfect.

(16:53):
Spirit is One everywhere always, making
what we see, hear, touch,
taste, smell, not Spirit.
So we have to develop the faculty which
enables us to perceive the invisible,
intangible Omnipresence.
To help us grasp the idea of what we can

(17:15):
do to induce this inner inspiration, we
have a soundbite from Herb Fitch's
Realization of Oneness, Class 33A.
And if anybody is interested in the full
audio file or the complete program, you
can get this at
MysticalPrinciples.com and I'll play it.

(17:37):
"Christ is one with the
Father, Spirit is one with Spirit.
The human form is not one with Spirit.
Matter and Spirit are
not one, they are two.
That is one too many.
So the emphasis here must be on Christ
identity, Spiritual identity.
And that means the concept
of flesh is the deceiver.

(17:58):
There is no flesh in the invisible
kingdom of God, only spiritual flesh.
only spiritual form.
Only forms of the soul, not of the mind.
But I have manifested Thy name.
What does that tell you about the
so-called body of Jesus Christ?
That body of Jesus Christ is
manifesting the name of God.
Is it physical flesh or

(18:19):
is it a new species of man?
Is it the Divine Being?
Are we seeing it?
I have manifested Thy
name, which is Spiritual Self.
The soul body of Jesus Christ stands
there and no man can see it.
That which is standing in the physical
flesh is only our
objective, subjective concept.

(18:41):
There is no physical flesh standing there
because I have manifested Thy name.
I am showing forth the spiritual body of
the soul which is deathless.
And though the world thinks they're
looking at a physical
form, they are wrong.
That is why John put the 17th chapter
here to show us that the body of Jesus

(19:02):
Christ was not a physical form.
But what was it?
It is an image in the minds of men.
How was it different than your form?
It was different in two ways.
He had reached the level of consciousness
which could overcome the world mind and
so that his body was
not a world mind image.
That's the first way in which his body
was different than ours.

(19:23):
It was not a world mind image.
Our forms are world mind images.
And then his real body which was there,
the body of spirit,
was not visible at all.
And he was living in it so that he could
move invisibly, walk on water, vanish in
crowds, appear 200 miles away to heal
someone who thought he was just over here

(19:44):
and didn't know he was over there too.
So that absent healing
was never really absent.
He was always everywhere.
He was in the infinite soul body.
How could he be in it
if it wasn't present?
I have manifested Thy name.
I have shown forth that there is an
infinite soul body and I am in it.
But why did he show it forth?
The same way he showed forth the

(20:05):
invisible kingdom of
harmony to all who came to him.
He was now showing forth an invisible
soul body that is
infinite to all who came to him.
But no one could recognize it.
It took at least a resurrection for them
to realize there was
an infinite soul body.
And only then when blessed by the spirit
of the disciples come
to that understanding.

(20:25):
That invisible soul body which is
infinite, which he revealed by walking
through the experience of crucifixion
untouched, is
invisibly present here and now.
It is also your body.
And you are in it unaware.
As you stand in a physical form which is
the world mind image, you are in reality
in the invisible soul
body which is infinite.
And as you turn to I Christ in the midst

(20:47):
of you, which knoweth these things, it
reveals that it is in the infinite soul
body which is beyond death.
This is how you come into your
realization of
deathlessness, life without end.
Your infinite soul body is revealed to
you through Christ in you,
accepted, lived in, realized.
All of this is presaged by the present

(21:10):
inner communion of Christ and the Father.
Not that we are going to come into this
body someday, but that it is and has been
your eternal body from
since before the world began.
You've always been in it unaware of it
without the capacity to
perceive it through the senses.
It is your body now.
It has no beginning,
no end in time or space.

(21:30):
It will be lived in on this earth while
you walk in the appearance called flesh
if you become Christ conscious.
This is truly the ultimate
purpose of all our work on earth.
They have known that all things
whatsoever thou hast
given me are of thee.
I have given unto them the
words which thou gavest me.
Now these words which Christ gives to the

(21:52):
disciples are actually the inner
ordinations of God through Christ in you
to the disciples in you so that if you're
living by revelation, Christ in you is
giving you the words of the Father
teaching all of the disciples within you
lifting them up so that the qualities of
God which are the disciples within you
through Christ in you are being lifted to

(22:14):
the fullness of spiritual maturity.
You're being taught by God.
But only if you're listening within
through Christ, not as a human being
standing there listening
but as the Christ listening.
This is the difference between hearing
the Father and going into some kind of
mental psychism in which you imagine that

(22:36):
what you're hearing is of the Father.
If you're in humanhood,
you're going into psychism.
If you accept the inner Christ and dwell
with it long enough to have the
realization of it, then you hear directly
from the Father and you become aware of
your everywhere identity."
I really like what Herb said.
"These words which Christ gives to the

(22:59):
disciples are actually the inner
ordinations of God through Christ in you
to the disciples in you, so that if you're
living by revelation, Christ in you is
giving you the words of the Father
teaching all of the disciples within you
lifting them up so that the qualities of

(23:21):
God which are the disciples within you
through Christ in you are being lifted up
to the fullness of spiritual maturity."
It's so important for us to develop this
faculty that enables us to receive Divine
revelation and then like he said, not

(23:41):
some mental psychism.
Oftentimes we think God is talking to us.
We think that God speaks to me.
And the more you understand,
God only speaks to Christ and if there is
a me, then you know you are

(24:04):
not receiving Divine revelation.
Again, absent from the body, present with
the Lord, only One Being.
I am everywhere always.
We have a passage here from Herb Fitch's
Realization of Oneness,
Class 41A and I'll read it.

(24:25):
"Karma is the effect which comes about
through mankind, not abiding in divinity,
and whoever in a measure abides in
divinity, which is the "I" of your being,
the "I" of everyone's being, you find you
nullify the karma, the ignorance, the
superstition, the
false powers of the world.

(24:46):
Now right in this room, right now, there
is an invisible thief,
that's the carnal mind.
It wasn't invited but it's always present
and if you are not abiding in the Divine
Self of you, it will steal you away into
that realm which is not Reality and you
will find yourself asleep walking in a

(25:07):
dream called mortality.
And in that mortality, you will suffer
all those things that are not God
created, which we call the destructive
elements of this world."
End of the passage.
Swami, any thoughts about this?
Well, I find it very interesting to start
from a basis that understands

(25:29):
this mental-material world of
energy is the superstition.
That changes everything.
Once you have developed a mental
landscape that will support the Divine
Idea and you start to apply the Principle
and the rule and you start to see that

(25:49):
Spirit is a demonstrable Principle.
It's a law that trumps karmic law.
It will awaken us from the belief in a
finite mortal sense of self but it's not
going to happen by itself.
In order for us to actualize this

(26:10):
experience of inner
revelation, there are things we must do.
Like we say,
graduate from belief to
faith to understanding.
Graduate from born of woman,
born of man, born of Spirit.

(26:31):
Go from unconscious awareness to
self-conscious awareness to
super-conscious awareness.
However you want to build that mental
image, it's a process and we have a
responsibility to
initiate it and then test it.
It's very easy to think you know the

(26:53):
Truth and you are not demonstrating
Divine Law with any kind of certainty.
So if you're not healing the sick,
reforming sin or raising the dead, you
must know that you're not conscious of
the Truth and realize there is but one

(27:14):
way that this goes right and everything
else is what they call a sin.
It misses the mark.
So if you don't think right, you don't
breathe right, you're not hydrated.
The foods you eat produce cravings and
disturbances and
you're not exercising right.

(27:34):
Using your physical body, it's a diagram
of what you are conscious
of, how you are thinking.
Shape, composition, condition of the
physical body will give you clues as to
what you are conscious of.
Divine Truth in consciousness resolves

(27:55):
things into thoughts and exchanges the
objects of sense for the Divine Idea.
Swami, why is it important for us to
understand what James has said, "Faith
without works is dead"?
Well, I think exactly what we're talking
about so that your belief doesn't fall

(28:17):
into just superstition, that you're not
just working with belief and thought.
Spirit is a demonstrable Principle, it's
a law and it is above material law, so
it's a provable Principle.
He's really telling us don't just believe

(28:38):
but demonstrate what you're calling the
Divine Omnipresence
is the One True Truth.
Consciousness is experience and Divine
Truth in consciousness must reveal the
Perfection of the Divine creation.
That's the purpose of this incarnation.

(29:00):
We are here to glorify the Creator, to be
that place where the Divine Principle can
express Itself through us.
