187B: SPOILER'D Resident Evil

Zach Cregger's RESIDENT EVIL (2026) explained — the influences and nods, the monster mechanics, and why the finale splits our panel.

Zach Cregger's Resident Evil (2026), the director's third film after Weapons and Barbarian, ROARED to monstrous opening box office last weekend.  Kevin Matthews of “Raiders of the Podcast” joins Cupcake (Jose) and WillDaBeast (Mike) to dig into re-boot and re-envisioning of Capcom’s enduring game franchise. We open with a short discussion of video game adaptations and where this film fits in. And to finish we hit that divisive ending? Meta-level storytelling or classic CREGGER?
