This week on Wicked Psychotherapists, Erin and Tanya dive into the hellishly funny world of Little Nicky — Adam Sandler’s misunderstood son of Satan.

We’re unpacking family dynamics from the underworld, sibling rivalry that could literally end the world, and what it means to grow up labeled “the weird one.”

From exploring Nicky’s identity struggles to the surprising heart and redemption hiding behind the flames, we’re examining all the psychological themes that make this cult classic more than just a goofy comedy.

Laugh, reflect, and maybe even rethink your own family chaos along the way.

(00:00):
I just remembered that the dad'sdad, like Satan's dad was Rodney

(00:04):
Dangerfield.
Rodney Dangerfield, yeah.
And he says his famous line, I,I ain't got no respect or, yeah,
I can't get no respect.
You are listening to WickedPsychotherapists, a podcast
where two psychotherapists showyou that taking care of and

(00:26):
learning about mental healthdoesn't have to be wicked hat.

Erin (00:43):
Hi guys, it's Tanya.
It's Erin, and welcome to WickedPsychotherapist.
Yeah, welcome.
So we are back after a littlebit, I was feeling a little
sick.
I don't know if anybody, youknow, we had some, some reruns
and stuff, some oldies butgoodies kind of playing, I
think.
Yeah, we still had some, somestuff going, but yeah, we're.

(01:03):
We are back and we are in themidst of, of fall.
As you can see, if you'rewatching this, I have, I have a
whole, a whole, pathway to fallin back of me.
Yes, yes.
Tanya's going on a walk later.
Mm-hmm.
I guess if you could see afoliage background, so many
people who, when they see this, they're like, wow, you really,

(01:23):
you really like fall, huh?
And I'm like, yeah, I do.
I do not try to hide that.
I got all my, like, weird littlepumpkin knickknack things, a
fox, a light up mushroom, whichI didn't turn on, but some white
pumpkins over here.
Yeah.
So I, and my, my house is prettyberserk.
But yeah, so, enjoying fall andeverything.

(01:44):
And we are on theme becausetoday we're gonna talk about.
Little Nikki with, of course,Adam Sandler.
He needs no introduction anymoreon this podcast.
We're just gonna change thepodcast name to Adam Sandler.
Adam something.
Psychotherapists.
Yeah, psychoanalyzing, AdamSandler's and all his movies.

(02:06):
One movie at a time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That would be pretty awesome.
Yeah.
But yeah, it's this, thisadmittedly was not one of my
favorites.
I think if you've listened inthe past, I I think I brought
that up.
We talked about that, butactually having re-watched it
and realizing it was just maybeAdam Sandler's character's
voice, that really bothered me.

(02:27):
Something about, I usually likeAdam Sandler's characters, like
in their voices, but somethingjust.
Distract me.
It wasn't too bad.
I actually am more in the middlenow, so I'm, I'm I, I have been
changed.
So this, this was a good thing.
I think that I re-watched it.
Okay.
And had a different lens on it.
Yeah.
His voice and puffer, his voiceand puffer jacket.
Yes.
And the, the oversized pufferjacket where he looks like a

(02:50):
little penguin.
Yeah.
And his li his hair was alllike, shoot down in his eyes.
Yeah.
But yeah.
No, it's, it's so, this came outin 2000, so there, there really
shouldn't be any spoiler alerts.
I mean, we, we, we, we've donethis whole rigmarole, we know
this, right?
If, if you don't wanna hearabout it or have anything
ruined, go ahead and watch it.
Pause right?

(03:10):
First.
But more than likely, you'vewatched it coming here.
Yeah.
It's Halloween time.
Yeah.
Yeah, we're trying to, yeah.
So this is, this is the story ofit's got a lot of family
dynamics, interrelationships, you know, staying true to
yourself are some of the commonthemes.
Because, little Nikki, Nikki isthe main character, Adam

(03:31):
Sandler.
He is Satan's son, this is setin hell.
Mm-hmm.
And it's just kind of funny inand of itself.
Mm-hmm.
Now that I think about it and, yeah, he is, he stands out from
his two other brothers who are,you know, who really wanna take
the throne of Satan.
And they kind of are prettyvicious.
Pretty mean devious.

(03:53):
And Nikki is very kind.
He, he's mm-hmm.
Very different from hisbrothers.
You know, he's, he's not someonewho really is into like violence
or, you know, just beinggratuity, gratuitous, like, you
know, meanness and just yeah.
Trying to make others feel bad.
And so he kind of stands out inhell for that.

(04:14):
Yeah.
You know, because that's notreally, traditionally how?
Yeah.
He people in hell are, I guess, yeah, he's, yeah.
He's not big on the torturecomponent of hell.
Yeah.
He likes to just hang out in hisroom, listen to metal music or
whatever he is doing, and justbasically, it seems like he's
like a teenage rebellious kid inhell yeah.

(04:35):
Yeah.
Yeah.
And, and he's not really, he'snot interested in taking over
the throne and like meanwhilehis brothers Adrian and Cassius,
I, I hope I'm saying that right.
Yeah.
I think it's Cassius.
Yeah.
Cassius are like drooling andlike trying to like wait for
their father to get off thethrone so they can just take
over.
And yeah.
So you, you really, from rightfrom the start, see kind of that

(04:57):
line drawn between not only, youknow, within the family, little
Nikki.
Is different from his brothersand his father is Satan, so
probably different from him.
Even though Satan seems toreally like Nikki and really
kind of empathize with him, which is, which is odd being
Satan.
Yeah.

(05:17):
His, his youngest, his youngestson, he has a little sweet spot
too for him.
Yeah.
Yeah, because he, you cannot,he's, he's a very sweet, he's a
very sweet personality.
He's very trusting.
He's kind of naive.
You know, he's he's, he's gotlike a speech impediment, which
we find out is because of Cassiehas hit him in the head with a
shovel, which is just so crueland like, kind of smashed his

(05:39):
job.
And I feel bad not liking thatvoice, like knowing that the
character, like that's how thathappened.
But it just bothers me.
But, you know, the, thecharacter, like how he got that,
I feel a lot of sympathy forobviously.
You know, so I know we're justspeaking about characters here.
You know, this is not true.
We always, we always had to, wealways had to remind Tanya it's

(06:00):
a movie.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, it's true.
Even at home.
Yeah.
She gets, she, she getsemotional.
She gets emotionally invested.
I do.
In poor Adam Sandler'scharacters.
I do, I do.
And I do this with othercharacters too.
Like, my husband always has toremind me like, you're watching
a show or a movie, and I'm like,oh yeah, yeah.
Yeah, so we, we see thiscontrast, you know, Nikki is, is

(06:20):
very different, obviously.
And, you know, I, Satan, Satan, the, the, their dad makes an
announcement.
They, the, the two brothers whoare like power hungry, Cassius
and Adrian are like, oh, he'sgonna, you know, abdicate the
throne or like, give up thethrone and then one of us can
take it.
Mm-hmm.
He decides he's not going to.
He's gonna stay there.
And so the, the brothers are,are like, Hey, all right, well,

(06:41):
we're gonna like take over andwe're just gonna like, mess up
the earth.
We're just gonna go, go to theearth.
And they kind of commit like a,a sin that, that has some, some
terrible consequences by goingthrough the portal, reverse
going in, and then it, you know, doesn't allow for the, the
portal gets, I guess, messed up.
People can't come in.
Yeah.
So it it's almost the can't feedoff of them.

(07:02):
Yeah.
It's like the fire wa, wawaterfall, whatever it is, like
closes up, so then people can'tgo to hell.
So then the dad starts losinglimbs and parts of him he like
de generate or something, likehe needs like the soles to like
stay fully Satan or something.
Like he needs fresh new, yeah.

(07:23):
I guess so fresh, fresh, fresh, new people coming and then
they're all just staying onearth so the brothers can take
over earth.
I don't know.
Just, yeah, they just wannawreak havoc.
They just wanna, cause like, they just want a chance to rule
and, and, you know, with an ironfist and, and just take over and
be cruel and mean.
'cause they're both cruel andmean.

(07:45):
And so Nikki has to become, kindof the hero, save the day.
And his dad's like, look, yougotta help out.
I'm like, turning into like anarm, you know?
He is just like, you know, he islike, no, he's like an eyebrow
at some point.
And he is like, you gotta go upto earth, you gotta like bottle
your brother's back so it canlike, restore the portal or
whatever.
And I can be back to this.

(08:05):
And Nikki loves his dad, so ofcourse he wants to, you know,
but he's kind of, he's scared.
He is like, I guess I'm the onlyperson I can do it.
He's very, he's very sensitive.
He's very, mm-hmm.
Kind of, emotionally maybegentle, I guess, you know, just
such a contrast to his brothers.
So he has to go figure out, he'snever, he's never been on earth,
right?
Like this is his first timegoing to earth, right?

(08:26):
Yeah.
So he, he's gotta figure outlike kind of how to navigate the
earth and be on like an earthly, although I guess.
If he is in hell, wouldn't hehave had to have?
Okay.
I'm not even gonna, you knowwhat, I'm over analyzing.
No, he's never been to, he'snever been to Earth because he
was probably born in hell.
Right.
Like Yeah.
Or born of, it's weird because,I'm sorry, I'm gonna skip ahead

(08:47):
because you know, like his momis not in hell.
Yeah.
But you know, but, and she wasnever born or alive, so I don't
know.
I guess the dad just gotcustody.
Or something, you know?
'cause the mom is kind of, themom seems a little emotionally
immature.
Yeah.
She's, she's got some, she hassome growing to do, some growing
up to do.

(09:08):
So, yeah, maybe she just kind offelt like, or like, you know,
oh, a boy needs his father kindof thing or something.
I don't know.
Like Yeah.
That type of thinking.
Even if, even if the father,Satan, yeah.
Right, right.
She's like, oh, that's fine.
Yeah.
So I guess he was never, yeah.
He was never like a human.
So he's never, no, he was nevernavigated.
Yeah, he's, yeah, he's, he's nota demon, but I guess he's just,

(09:28):
I don't know what he is.
He's like Satan.
He's not child or so, yeah.
Yeah, but he's And the angel'schild.
Yeah.
But Satan was even a fallenangel, so he's like kind of too.
Yeah, he's two angels.
This is just, yeah, we are gonnaoveranalyze.
Poor little Nikki.
He's actually an angel.
Yeah.
But, but this was his first timeon earth and yeah, the first

(09:49):
couple times he kind of keptdying and messing up.
So then they realized that heneeded a guide.
So they make, so I don't know ifthey make the dog or they, the
dog is a demon or something.
He ends up being his littlefriend, helping him figure out
like, this is how you eat.
This is how you don't get killedevery five seconds.

(10:10):
Easy.
The bulldog, right.
Was he a bulldog?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think he was a bulldog.
Yeah.
He's just like, he's a talking.
Yeah.
He kind of guides him and, yeah,he's, he is awkward.
I mean, because he is kind of,he's kind of awkward in hell
too, but he's definitely awkwardon earth.
Yeah.
So he is gotta, he's gottanavigate that and then he is
gotta locate his brothers andkind of find signals like, oh,

(10:32):
if there's, because his brotherscan like shapeshift or like,
kind of change forms so he, hewouldn't be able to necessarily
spot them and he's gotta findthem somewhere.
So.
Mm-hmm.
You know, somehow he's able tokind of, he tracks down Adrian.
He's gotta trick them into goinginto like this magical flask.
Yeah.
Or whatever to like bring themback in.
They, I guess they get trappedin there.

(10:53):
Mm-hmm.
Adrian's an easy catch.
He's kind of, kind of falls forit and drinks, drinks the drink.
And, but you know, Cassius is adifferent story.
He's really wanting to like, goand be on TV and, and be the,
the pastor and.
You know, kind of tell peoplelike, oh God is, God is bad.
And like he's trying to likeinfluence all these people to

(11:14):
follow him to be Satan.
He is like literally just tryingto make another cult.
Yeah, yeah.
Like one, one pretends to be amayor.
One, one is a pastor orwhatever, and Yeah.
Just wherever they're standing, like their feet are on fire
because they're, yeah.
So it's like, oh, okay, so Iknow that this person,'cause
they have to stay, they don'tlike.
I think Earth is too cold.

(11:36):
Yeah.
You know, so that's, that's why, that's why Nikki's in this
stupid puffer jacket like insummer.
Yeah.
They're not used to the, thetemperatures, the kind of mild,
mild temperatures I guess thatare yeah.
Like the inferno of, of hell.
But yeah.
And, and Nikki is, you know, throughout, you can see that
he's.
His, his journey on earth.
You can see that he's just not.

(11:57):
Mm-hmm.
Like I think the first fiveseconds he gets like, hit by a
bus or something like that.
Like that was the first Yeah.
Like a train or a bus orsomething?
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
It was a train.
Yeah.
'cause he's like, he doesn'teven really know what they are.
He doesn't, he's like, oh, whatis this?
Like?
Yeah.
His dad's like, oh my God.
Like it's just, and then everytime he comes back to hell,
'cause he has to keep gettingsent back'cause he, he dies and

(12:18):
then he has to be sent back.
His dad is like, like reduced tolike another body part or like
another body part.
Mm-hmm.
His left.
And he's just like a pelvis at acertain point.
Yeah.
Like, but he's talking, talkingface or talking lip or
something.
He's just determined to, but he,he really wants to help his dad,
you know?
He really wants him to, to berestored because he knows his

(12:38):
brothers will be cruel and, and, and, you know, not, not
considerate.
It's kind of weird to say, buthe knows his father, Satan is
somewhat, I guess like, youknow, has some fairness to his
cruelness, whereas his brothersare mm-hmm.
All out like having fun and onpower trips, just trying to
wreak havoc everywhere they go.
Yeah.
And so he really wants to, hereally wants to stop that and he

(12:59):
really cares about his dad.
And in the meantime we meet somecharacters.
We meet the, the, the loyalistslike the, the metalhead or
whatever.
Yeah.
Who are just like willing tofollow Nikki anywhere.
They see that he's likedifferent and special and,
they're like kind of like, Idon't know, fascinated by
demons.
They recognize that he's.
He's like that and they're justlike always rooting for him.

(13:22):
Yeah.
Kind of following him around thefans.
And it's, and it's two of theguys that we usually see from a
lot of like almost all of hismovies.
Yeah.
Like, yeah.
He's got his whole gang inthere.
He definitely, yeah.
Does he's, you know, he is got,Kevin Neelan is, is in there.
Rob Schneider is in there atsome point.
Yeah.
Henry Winkler.

(13:42):
Henry Winkler.
Chubbs.
Chubbs.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's, yeah.
He, he appears when, when Nikkihe finds out that his mom is an
angel, he gets, how does he getsent to heaven?
He does, does he do something?
Well, he's always doing good.
I can't remember how, maybe hedied one other time and I don't

(14:03):
know.
I don't know what he did, but hedid something like really good.
Yeah, he ended up going toheaven instead of going back to
hell.
And then he met his mom andthere's all these angels and
they're like Valley girl angels.
And they're just so excited.
And then Reese Witherspoon, whois, who is Holly, who is the
angel, tells him that she's hismom, even though she's like

(14:25):
younger than he is or looksyounger.
And his dad is like, looks old.
And, but she explains that shemet him as a, his dad was a, I
forget how she met the dad, butshe just thought he was like, so
cool and neat and yeah.
And then Chubbs comes and like,he like, introduces himself and
I guess Chubbs is their danceinstructor and like even like,

(14:46):
has like the same line fromlike, happy Gilmore, like it's
all in the hips.
So that, so yeah.
So it's kind of, it's kind offun and yeah, it's, it's.
Yeah.
That part is kind of neat thatlike, he's like, oh, you know,
like he doesn't stay up there.
He goes back to earth, but he,he, now he knows, he is like,
oh, I'm part angel.
I'm half angel.
Half devil.
Yeah.

(15:06):
Which, which kind of makes senseas to why he, he is, he is
really good and really differentfrom his mm-hmm.
His two brothers because heYeah.
Knows like, oh, I'm, I'm.
Part angel.
Right.
And so he's, yeah.
For him, I think that was kindof important for him to kind of
not feel so different.
Like he knew he was differentand he like mm-hmm.

(15:28):
Couldn't quite, he was alwaysconstantly surrounded by like
the differences.
And I think that kind of likeresolved something maybe in his
like identity, you know, justknowing that, because he was
kind of.
A little bit in like an identitycrisis, you know, kind of being
like mm-hmm.
Why am I not, you know, like hewas kind of always surrounded by
it.
Right.
So that was probably, probablygood for him.

(15:48):
Yeah.
But, yeah, just, just a lot, alot of ridiculousness in the
movie, but pretty, you know, pretty funny and entertaining.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
And so he is Nikki is determinedto get his, his brother Cassius,
and he goes through all thesehijinks.
Cassius is like really, reallytrying to, you know, trick him.
And, you know, they, they kindof go back and forth for a

(16:10):
while.
You know, he meets somebody, thedesign student, Valerie,
Patricia Arquette, laser, andshe's like, you know, kind of,
kind of, a little goofy, alittle off.
Mm-hmm.
You know, so they definitelyclicked littley and yeah, she's
kind of, yeah, she seems likeshe's just very, yeah, nerdy and
just doesn't really fit in whereshe's working or where she's at

(16:31):
and, and I think she justrecognizes, you know, like
Nikki's sweetness.
And I think that's what she, hisawkwardness too.
I think that she kind of likesthat.
It feels familiar.
Yeah.
Yeah, they kind of, they kind ofbond over that.
Then of course, his brother, when he like first or like, you
know, maybe the second timemeeting her, sees him and, and

(16:54):
like jumps into him and, orlike, makes him say some awful
things to her or like pervertedthings.
And so she gets a little scaredaway, but then she soon realizes
like, oh, that's not, that's notwho he is kind of thing.
Yeah.
But yeah, eventually it, it endsup being, you know, kind of,
it's, it's kind of like a battleof good versus evil, sort of,
you know?

(17:14):
Mm-hmm.
And good prevails.
There's, you know, Ozzy Osborneshows up because Cassie is some,
somehow takes the, the form oflike a bat.
And so who's gonna, you know, the secret weapon?
Ozzies porn.
Yeah.
'cause Holly, GI, Holly, theangel gives.
Nikki like a, something like, that's like a secret weapon,
like a, is, I forget, is it agem or something?

(17:35):
I forget what it is, but it's,well, yeah, yeah.
The, the gem, I think it waslike a gemstone or something.
Yeah.
And then it's like, then he usesit at the end, and then Ozzy
comes out of it and then, youknow.
Signature.
Grabs the bat and eats the bat.
And then of course the metalheads are like Ozzy, you know,
like they're so excited to seehim.
And I think that's really funnythat they, that they had that

(17:57):
and you know, then he saves theday.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And he, he's able to restorethings back in hell.
Bring them back and mm-hmm.
And his dad is, you know, kindof like realizing with the son.
And it's, it's, it's funnybecause his dad is really, he
really does care and he reallydoes see what's best for, for
Nikki.
And he's like, you know, sinceyou're kind of made of, you

(18:18):
know, the above heaven and, andthe below, maybe you need to
kind of maintain things and beup in the middle.
Right.
Yeah.
You know, you'll kind of belike, that will be your place.
He was always kind of lookingfor his place.
He didn't really have one inhell.
Yeah.
He was just kind of different.
Like he was okay just kind ofbeing in his room, but he, he
just didn't really fit in and somm-hmm.
I think his dad saw that like,oh, well you met someone and
maybe you could just go Yeah.

(18:40):
Maintain that and be, be there.
That could be your place.
Yeah.
Take care of the InBetween.
Yeah.
And then that way you have yourmom watching out for you and I
can look up for you and, yeah.
He probably knew, like, youknow, it's not like Nikki's
gonna solve world peace oranything there, but it's gonna,
he is gonna not get picked on bypeople and just, you know, be
happy.

(19:00):
And that's, that's nice too, that the father recognizes that
and is, and is trying to, youknow, just, okay.
I, I know, you know, Nikki's notgonna.
Rule Hell kid.
So let me just try to find anice place that he can live with
his girlfriend.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He like, he really, he reallycares for him.
It's a nice kind of happy mediumand that that helps to work out,

(19:24):
you know, the, the fact thatthere's a.
That dynamic with his siblings.
They're not, he's not alwaysgonna feel like in their shadow
or like he always has to kind ofwalk around being small around
them.
Mm-hmm.
He can have his own place and hecannot feel like out of place
because he, he is out of placein hell.
He's not, he doesn't fullybelong there.
So he is kind of resolves a lotof that.

(19:45):
Mm-hmm.
Family relationships, theidentity crisis, and, yeah, so
he can, he, he kind of has hisown, his own place.
And then Satan restores kind of,he's, he's a more he's a wiser
choice, I think for, for Satan.
You know, because he, he kind ofseems to.
Not be so impulsive like the,the brothers or whatever.

(20:05):
Yeah.
And he's already been doing itfor 10,000 years, he says.
And he wants to do it foranother 10,000.
And I thought it was funny too.
I just remembered that the dad'sdad, like Satan's dad was Rodney
Dangerfield.
Rodney Dangerfield, yeah.
And he says his famous line, he,he got no respect or, yeah, I
can't get no respect.
So I was like, oh, that's, wow.

(20:25):
Lots of classics in here.
Yeah.
Yeah, there were a lot of, a lotof people in there that were
just so, so classic.
But yeah, poor, poor HenryWinkler got attacked by bees
twice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He was kind of the, the the, thesacrifice for, yeah, like, like
for a second time, Nikki, inorder to go back to hell, he had

(20:46):
to do something kind of bad, sohe really, really bad.
He's like, sorry, Henry.
Then Henry's like, I understand.
Or something, you know?
It's like, yeah, that wasreally, it was really good.
I mean, to have like all the,the appearances of.
Of all those, those thosepeople.
Pretty classic.
Yeah.
And then we were talk, and wewere talking too.
It's like even Quentin Tarantinowas like the crazy pastor or

(21:08):
something reverend around thestreet, like talking to
everybody about, you know, likehell and, you know, whatever
that he sees Nikki the firsttime, he is like, ah, he is the,
you know, he is the devil.
Then he keeps getting injuredand falling and getting hurt
and.
Funny.
Yeah, there's, there's a lot ofcomic relief, a lot of big
names.
You know, it's funny because Iwas, I, I did read that this got

(21:30):
nominated for like the, theRaspberries award.
Like that, like award's Theworst picture, worst actor, like
it won.
Oh, that's funny.
Really?
What like the movie in for AdamSandler, the Actor and even
Patricia Arquette got worsesupporting actress.
Worst director and worsescreenplay.
Wow.
Oh, that's funny.
Well, I mean, it wasn't thebest.

(21:51):
I mean, it's not like it was, itwasn't silly.
A brilliant, it wasn't abrilliant movie.
But I mean, it's, it, I mean, and maybe he even purposely
wanted it to be like, okay, yeah, this is just a joke.
This is just so, so bad.
I think so I think he kind ofmaybe thrives on that a little
bit.
Mm-hmm.
Like that.

(22:11):
Yeah.
He, he seems to, to kind of likethat.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, and it won for, for worstfake accent too.
I didn't see that.
Oh, but Oh, really?
On Hi.
Oh, I didn't see That's funny.
Yeah.
Which was, but yeah, his thinkthere is some, his voice, his
voice was the worst.
I wonder if he accepted it, ifhe actually went and.
Received his award.
It doesn't say, but theydefinitely, I don't know if

(22:33):
that's just like symbolic, Idon't know, but like they, it,
yeah, he got a lot and he lostto some pretty crappy like
battlefield Earth that year.
You know, what was it?
Road trip with Tom Green, justlike really.
Wilson in Castaway, like the,the volleyball lost to that as a
character, like worst, worstactor.
That's funny.

(22:54):
And most unfunny comic relief orpainfully unfunny talking
Bulldog.
Wow.
Okay.
I actually kind of liked Mr.
Beefy, but well, some of thescenes you're like, okay, Mr.
Beefy enough.
Yeah.
But it's all too much.
But I think that's, that's whatwe like about Adam Sandler
movies, is that Yeah, I, thiswas one that like, had a certain
formulas that really aggravatedme for a while, but I don't

(23:15):
know, as I was able to see allthe other elements in place, I
was like, I, okay, I can seesome charm to it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, it didn't have, well,it, it, you know, a lot of his
MI movies, he's usually thehero.
He's usually the idiot orsomething, you know, something's
happening.
Or sometimes he's the big jerk, but this time he is kind of the
idiot.
He meets a girl, you know, whoyou, it's like, wait a minute,

(23:37):
she's too pretty for this dopeyguy or something.
Or why?
Why?
You know?
So it's usually, you know, sometimes you know, usually
there's some something that hischaracter is saving or letting
people realize like, wait aminute, we, we need to change.
So there usually is some.
Some moral or ethical thing thatyou're learning or hearing

(23:59):
wrapped among this really badaccent and stupid attire and
everything.
Yeah, for sure.
There's always like a little bitof like a, a golden nugget, like
moral story.
Like amongst all theridiculousness, the layers of
it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
And he kind of puts them in insimilar, he, he, I think,

(24:21):
showcases them in similar.
Manners in his movie, but maybelike, in different ways, like,
like the same kind ofcategories, but like in
different, in different ways ofshowing it.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
I think it's, it, it can be kindof similar like that.
Like he will kind of change uplike, how does this person, have
a tough life?
Or what is a character like?
But he has similar elements tothe plot.

(24:42):
Yeah.
But yeah, and it's, it's, it's,you know, I think that's what
people, you know, like us reallylike about.
The Adam Sale.
It's just the, it's somethingthat works even in, in this
movie, which I really did notlike.
I found Charm in it, you know?
Yeah, Tanya was, I'm sure youguys hear like at other
episodes, Tanya's like, no way.
I'm not gonna watch this movie.
It's so dumb.

(25:02):
It's the worst.
And I'm like, but it'sHalloween.
It's, you know, like if, ifwe're, if we're doing Huey, why
can't we do little Nikki?
So, that's true.
That's true.
Yeah.
I apologize for all of you thatmay have watched Little Nikki
again, but it's, it is, I mean,it is funny in a sense.
I mean, there are some partswhere you're like, Ugh, let me

(25:23):
just fast forward this or justgo to the bathroom during the
scene.
Yeah, take a break During that.
But that can be some of the molike it's just some are your,
more your taste than others.
Right.
You know?
Mm-hmm.
And for me, this one was not atthe top.
It was very, very much at thebottom.
But I, I can, I'm glad I, I'mglad we rewatched it with this
Yeah.
Like lens in place, thisperspective.

(25:44):
So, yeah.
But yeah, I, I think, you know, there's a lot of, you know,
like, like you said, the hero'sjourney.
He like proved himself and hefound his place.
You know, he, Nikki alsoembraced who he was.
He like, wasn't trying to belike his brothers and his father
saw that he found a place forhimself.
And then at the end, like, youknow, Nikki, we, we see kind of

(26:07):
how the characters all ended upand Nikki ends up I'm guessing,
marrying Valerie and having likea kid with, with her.
Mm-hmm.
Who's, you know.
Got some demon qualitiesprobably.
And and I think like Mr.
Beefy reunites with like his ratgirlfriend or something.
And they had kids.
Yeah.
Then they have, they have ratpuppies or something.

(26:28):
So yeah, Satan and Holly theywere unable to deal with their
long distance relationship.
But it said that Satan waslinked with like the Blair Witch
and Cher.
And Holly immediately fell inlove with her new aerobics
instructor, Chris Farley, whichis like, he always gives a
tribute to his, his buddy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I, I like that.
That was, that was really funny.

(26:48):
And then the Metalheads, right?
They, they ended up, they gotthe reward money for that was
for like finding Cassius, right?
Yeah.
They got like a few milliondollars and something.
Yeah, and they ended up justlike a couple of idiots that
they are, you know, they boughtan airplane, stocked it with a
bunch of stuff, and they didn'thire a pilot.

(27:09):
So of course it took off andjust immediately crashed and
they ended up happily in hell.
You know, kind of like justdancing around and having
Nikki's old, old room and just, that's like their, the dream.
Yeah.
That's where they wanted to be.
So like everyone pretty much, you know, ended up the way that
they.
They, you know, kind of felthappy, I guess.
Oh, except the brothers, butthey, that's another story.

(27:32):
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
The brothers.
Yeah, the brothers, brothersremained in the thing and just
had like their own demise.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which you, you, if you watchedit, you know what that is.
Yeah.
But yeah, so this was, you know,a pretty, pretty good movie and
definitely a lot of Halloween.
Themes in there with you know, the hell and spooky spookiness.

(27:54):
Yeah.
And everybody, like all thecharacters, all like the
monsters and, and hell andeverything.
But a good movie to kind ofshow, you know, being true to
yourself and also finding your, your place I think is Yeah.
Are some good takeaways.
Yeah.
And you know, it's okay to bethe youngest child and not
following your siblings.

(28:14):
You know, examples or being justlike them, he's, it's okay to
have a little individuality andnot worry how others are going
to act or react towards you.
Yes.
As from two, two youngestchildren of, of Yes.
Get gauntlet just like, youknow, broods of children.
We, we fully relate.

(28:35):
Yeah.
So that's, that's true.
That's another really goodpoint.
We relate, we relate to Nikki.
Yes.
But yeah, so it was, it was, Iam glad, I'm glad that we, we.
Decided to watch this.
I, I think it definitely hasconverted me to being like, if
it's on, I'd be like, well, Icould keep that in the back if I
just kind of with the voice, ifI just manage it.
Yeah.
I was able to manage it and justkind of, you know, go Yeah.

(28:56):
Around it.
But, but it's, but you don'treally see that plane, like it's
no water boy.
Like where they, they show waterboy, like on TBS or whatever,
like every single day it seems.
But you never really see littleNikki streaming anywhere.
Yeah, that's true.
Yeah, that's true.
Prob maybe because it did getlike worse picture or whatever,
and so maybe it's like, yeah, Idon't know, but I, there
probably are like some like cultfollowers and like, oh, yeah,

(29:18):
know, I'm sure there always arefor his movies because people
love, people love bad movies.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Yeah, I honestly, I would watchit again.
I would, and I never thought I'dsay that, so.
Okay.
Good.
Good.
I, I am.
I am converted.
So, wow.
Yeah, maybe if you haven'twatched in a while and you
didn't like it wasn't yourfavorite, try it again.
Try it to like, if, if thevoice, you know, annoys you or

(29:39):
something, try to kind of justfocus on some other things.
And it actually all fit.
Yeah.
It's goofy.
It's funny, you know, if youlike Adam Sailor, you really
can't appreciate it becausemm-hmm.
We certainly do here.
I think that's fairly obvious.
But yeah.
So, yeah.
Oh, so this brings us to are we,are we all set with, with the,
with little Mickey?
I was gonna bring us to thequestion.
I think so.
I think so.

(30:00):
I think so.
I think if anyone else feelslike we didn't cover everything,
reach out.
Well, we'll, we'll debate.
Okay.
Okay.
So yes, I have, this is like.
Any age old question, but if youwere to a question of, of the
day, if you were to the way thatit's portrayed in the movie,
little Nikki mm-hmm.

(30:20):
Have to go to heaven or to go tohell Yes.
Which would you choose?
Well, I think I would chooseheaven just because it seems
like it's a little more fun.
And even though I don't thinkI'd wanna hang out with all the
group of girls,'cause it seemsvery much like a sorority.
I, hopefully I wouldn't have tohang out with just the angels,
but I think it would be alittle, little more freedom and

(30:43):
a little more fun.
But, so yeah, I don't, I don'tthink I'd wanna be in hell.
What about you?
I think, I think with the wayit's portrayed in the movie, I
might, I might wanna go to helllike.
It, it's not because, I mean,you know, obviously I wouldn't,
I wouldn't want that really, butlike in real life.
Yeah.
The way in the movie, it seemslike it's not so bad.

(31:04):
Like, I mean, as long as youdidn't, you know, you're not
like Hitler or anything gettingtortured.
Yeah.
You don't wanna, yeah.
It seems like if you kind ofare, are there and you're, you
know, maybe just there, likehanging out, kind of do your own
thing, you know?
But maybe it wouldn't be so funbecause I don't, I don't think
I'd really relate to a ton ofpeople there.
So I don't know, I guess.
I guess it just kind of seemedfun with the end scene with the,

(31:25):
the metal heads just kind ofdancing.
Dancing.
I was like dancing.
This doesn't seem so bad.
No, but they're also justbrainless idiots.
Yeah.
So like, and that's kind oftrue.
I get bored with that.
Like it would be, yeah.
Probably, or maybe I really hadto make the choice it would be
heaven, but I guess I'm justsaying like, hell didn't seem so
bad.
Like, I don't know.
Yeah, it didn't seem, it, it'sdefinitely portrayed differently
than in other movies or books oranything like that.

(31:47):
It, it seems like Yeah, itwouldn't be like 24 hour
torture.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If it's, yeah.
Obviously if it's, I would notwant that, but yeah, I just, I
guess because our.
Our job is so much like doinggood for, for so much.
Yeah.
I feel like it just kind of islike exhausting and I feel like
if that's kind of what you haveto do in heaven, like maybe, but

(32:09):
it seems like they do some otherfun stuff and you know.
Yeah.
Like they go dancing and stufflike that.
So I'm just really, yeah, I'dprobably, I'd probably say
heaven, but maybe I'd visit hellhere and there.
Yeah.
Something if I could or no.
Or ask if we're allowed tolisten to other music in heaven.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because yeah, that would begood.
That's a good idea.
Yeah.

(32:30):
But yeah, let us know what youthink.
If you are a little Nicki fan,if he, maybe you converted like
me if you watched it again.
Mm-hmm.
Telling you give it anothershot, take another perspective.
See how it is.
Mm-hmm.
And yeah, we love to hear fromyou.

Yeah, just pretend like, just, just stare back.
Stare sta past, past Tanya'sface, and just go for a walk.
Let's go for a little jaunt.
Yeah, a little fall.

(33:13):
Fall, walk.
Well, yeah, we, we hope, we hopeyou like this.
I.
Yeah, let us know if you haveany requests, anything that you
wanna let us know or add on to,to Little Nikki itself or
anything we love hearing fromyou.
Yeah.
Or any other Adam Sandlermovies, you know,'cause we have
grownups too coming up, BillyMadison.
And we're gonna have to getthrough and try to figure out

(33:33):
other ones that we need towatch.
So let us know.
Yeah, we definitely need some,we, we are Adam centric here,
so, or if there's any spinoffsfrom other of his people like,
Steve BMI or someone like that, you're like, ah, gotta watch
Reservoir Dogs.
Or you gotta do this, or, youknow, something.
I don't know.

(33:53):
That's a, that's a direction.
Yeah, we could definitely thinkabout that.
'cause yeah, I, Steve BMI in, inthe, he's just hilarious and
yeah, I'd like, did do, did youfinish, I know this is offshoot,
but did you finish watchingWednesday with him in it?
I did.
Yeah, I did.
Yeah.
I loved him in it.
Yeah, he was great.
I don't wanna give spoilers inthese people haven't finished
watching it, but it's reallygood.

(34:14):
Yeah.
That's still like, the secondone is still fairly new.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But no, yeah, he was reallygood.
Yeah.
I liked him a lot.
He's just, he's very lovable.
He's got such a Goonie face, butI, I just love him.
I love him.
Yeah.
He's great.
But yeah, so, let us know thiswas, this was good.
I'm, I'm glad that, that we.
Took us a second.
Look at this.
Yeah.
This movie.
But yeah.
And and don't forget, staywicked and keep your mind well,

(34:37):
and happy Halloween.
