Speaker 1 (00:04):
How, how we doing everybody, and welcome to

(00:30):
Wisconsin Sports on the go withTrage.
I'm your host, trage.
It is Wednesday, a fantasticWednesday here in the great
state of Wisconsin, and we cansay that for the first time in a
while now, because we had acouple of wins last night, a
couple of big wins coming on theWisconsin sports front, so we
got to be talking about thosegames today.

(00:50):
Lots to get into A greatWednesday.
Today.
The weather has been getting alot better here in the state of
Wisconsin.
If you're in the state ofWisconsin, you know it, you know
it well.
It's like that solar eclipsejust brought in this fantastic
weather.
Yesterday.
Sun started popping out and itwas warm.
It was nice.
I was working, I was down tothe long sleeve t-shirt on.

(01:11):
It was fantastic, it was justfantastic, and it looks like the
weather is going to remain thesame.
They're talking 70s come thisweekend here.
So nothing better, nothingbetter than some warm weather
here in Wisconsin.
We've been waiting for it,trust me, we've been waiting for
it.
We got a little bit.
Then it snowed again and it'slike when is it going to go?

(01:31):
Well, here it is.
We're warming up here in thestate of Wisconsin, and well, so
are some of the sports.
So we're going to get into themall today.
Here I want to first.
First I want to jump into theBrewers.
Let I want to first.
First I want to jump into theBrewers.
Let's look at that Brewers gamefrom yesterday.
There the Brewers win that one9-5 over the Cincinnati Reds.

(01:52):
It's almost like a flip thescript from game one of the
series game to Brewers in thisone Got out to the big lead and
then the Reds were the team thatwas trying to battle back and I
mean they made it a ballgame.
I got to say this Reds team, just like we've said about the
Brewers this season here, asthis team battles, this team

(02:12):
doesn't really feel like they'reout of games.
You know, like the Brewersyesterday they were down what?
8-0 at one point there and theybattled back.
Same with this Reds teamthey're down 5.
I think they're down eight toone.
Yeah, they're down eight to one, going into the seventh there,
and then they were able tobounce in a couple of two run
inning there's in the seventhand eighth and that's what made

(02:34):
this thing close there.
Nine to five there, the Brewerswere able to pull this one out.
But I mean just the way thatthis Reds team battled back.
It's just like man.
These two teams are young, they're hungry and man can they
hit the baseball around.
So fantastic stuff there.
9-5 was the final.
In that one Brewers out hit theReds in that one 13-10.

(02:55):
An error piece on both teamsthere.
In that one For the Brewers Ibelieve it was on Adamamas, a
throwing air, yes, uh, throwingair on adamas in that one.
That was the the only air forthe brewers.
So definitely a big step upfrom yesterday there where the

(03:15):
defense struggled for thebrewers.
Defense held true in this gamehere against the reds, hitting
wise for the brewers.
We saw oliver dunn get to startthere.
He struggled in the lead offspot in this one.
So hopefully you know he got alittle time off there at the end
of the game.
Hopefully you know things startto straighten out for Oliver
Dunn.
Contreras in that two-hole hewas one for four.
Yellich two for four on thegame there with three RBIs and a

(03:37):
walk in this one.
Willie Adamas one for five inthis one.
Willie Adamas, one for five inthis one.
Bowers one for five.
Hoskins one for four.
Sal Freling this guy isstarting to heat up.
For us folks here, it's the moveto the bottom of the order.
I'm telling you we had him atthe top, he was struggling to
start the year.
We move this guy down.
Three for four, three singles,an RBI and two runs scored on

(03:59):
the game there.
Fantastic stuff out of sale.
Terang was one for five in theBlake Perkins.
Three for five, three singles, three RBIs, two runs scored on
the game there for Perkins.
Bottom of the order for theBrewers in this game.
Here you're talking about fourRBIs just in the bottom.
Three guys in the order therewith Frelick, terang and Perkins
, with Frelick and Perkinsknocking in some runs there.

(04:22):
So good stuff there.
Brewers hitting the baseball inthis one.
Looking at the pitching staffand this is where also, I mean
some fantastic stuff there JoeRoss this is a guy he hadn't
pitched I believe the stat washe hadn't pitched into the
seventh inning since, like 2021in the bigs, and he goes six and

(04:44):
a third in this one.
Five hits, 200 runs, three runson the game there, one walk and
seven strikeouts on the gamefor joe ross.
A fantastic outing for joe rossin this one.
A bit.
I mean that was huge.
That was huge, because thisbullpen for the brewers we
talked about it early on thisyear and I said it there was
that they were going to needthese guys to go a little bit

(05:07):
longer, not just Freddie, thatwas the thing is Freddie was
getting them six, six inningsthere and that's fine and dandy.
But what about the other fourguys?
Right, the other four guyscan't go four to five innings a
piece there every single nightbecause then the bullpen is
going to get taxed, right, andwe're going to be calling up
guys left and right trying to uh, trying to make up for the lack

(05:30):
of production there in thestarting rotation.
So it was great to see joe rossbe able to extend this one.
Get into that.
I mean, could you have leftthem in there?
Yeah, I would say you couldhave left joe ross in the ball
game there, but you knowdictating times, he hadn't
pitched a lot this year.

(05:51):
So I mean one one start on theyear before this, one year and
it wasn't a very long outing forjoe.
So I mean he had, I believe, 87pitches.
You could have left him inthere in that seventh.
But all in in all, I mean Ithought it was the right move to
pull him out of there.
You had Paguero, you had Pajams, you had Uribe, all locked and

(06:13):
loaded.
Bryce Wilson was most likelyready to go there and others in
that bullpen.
So it's like, okay, you know, let's get him out of there,
let's get in one of our otherguys here and see what can
happen.
We had Elvis Puguero come in forJoe Ross there Inning and a
third, two earned runs on fourhits in that one.
Two strikeouts.
Not a bad outing out of Puguero, not fantastic.

(06:34):
But he hadn't pitched sincelast Friday there, so coming in
a little bit cold, I guess youcould say Maybe that had a
little bit to do with it.
I'm not, you know, that's up inthe air kind of thing there,
but that could have something todo with it there.
So Poguero goes inning in athird two earned runs and four
hits.
Hudson then came in for Pogueroin a third of an inning there.

(06:54):
He had zeros across the board.
Good stuff out of Hudson.
And then we saw Abner Yaribecome in for that ninth inning In
an inning pitch.
He gave up one hit, threestrikeouts and one walk in that
inning.
I mean they put the pressure onhim In that inning.
No outs.
Second and third, with nobodyout after that pass ball and it

(07:20):
was looking like we had Pyeumpswho was warming up in the
bullpen in a hurry.
It was like I don't know ifAbner's going to be able to get
out of this one.
And I mean't know if Abner isgoing to be able to get out of
this one.
And I mean Abner Ribe pitchedfantastic.
I thought that that performanceby Abner showed me so much more
than a 1-2-3 inning, because ina 1-2-3 inning there wasn't
really that pressure right, andfor a rookie pitcher, the

(07:40):
biggest thing I want to see outof him is how does, especially
in the later innings, right, because there's a chance that
you could get this guy, say theBrewers are in a 3-1, 3-2 game,
right, just like this one, 9-5,still not.
I mean the Reds were never outof it and you have, say, elvis
Figueroa in there.

(08:00):
Now Abner's got to come inthere with, say, bases loaded,
nobody out.
How does he react to thatsituation?
In this case he's the guy whoput those two on.
And the way I mean Abner's nota massive strikeout guy, he's
got dominant stuff.
I mean we see a sinker.
That thing is nasty and I meanhe throws 100 miles per hour, he

(08:21):
touches triple digits.
So you would think this guy bigstrikeout guy.
He's not.
He's not a huge strikeout guy, right, relies a lot on the
ground ball and in this outinghere, three strikeouts in a huge
spot, middle of the order, coming up right.
He had to work through themiddle of this order here I
believe three, four and five, with runners on first and second

(08:42):
there, india and steven aresecond and third there with
nobody out.
He's working through the three, four, five hitters in this
order and I mean just, he did afantastic job, fantastic job
shutting the door, getting itdone with there, and that was.
That was great stuff, greatstuff out of abner ebay.
So I mean we can praise him allday long.
The guy has pitched abner'spitched fantastic for the

(09:05):
Brewers this season, especiallybeing young and being thrown
into the situation that he hasbeen right we were going into
this year we had Devin Williams.
That was the closer.
Devin Williams was the closeron this team and that's how it
was going to be.
And just like that, devinWilliams is out.
Now we have to rely on somebodyelse and it was the young guy
we tossed in, abner Uribe rightoff the bat got two massive

(09:28):
saves for the Brewers thereearly on against that Mets and
now coming in here against theReds another fantastic
performance.
So I mean just good stuff outof the Brewers all the way
around there in this gameagainst the Reds.
I love the ability that theBrewers have right now, not to.
I mean they look, you, look atthis game against the Reds.
I love the ability that theBrewers have right now, not to.

(09:51):
I mean you look at this gamehere.
They jumped out early rightThree nothing lead there in the
third.
And lots of times in years pastwe've seen this Brewers team,
or the Brewers teams of the pastthere, jump out to these early
leads and it's like, okay, nowit's survival mode, right, they
get out to these early leads, but they like, okay, now it's
survival mode, right, they getout to these early leads, but
they don't keep the pressure, they don't keep putting guys on,
they don't keep producing runsthroughout the game.

(10:12):
It's like early on, brewersoffense.
Late in the game it's like howcan my bullpen save me?
Once again, right, we only havea one run lead.
You know, lots of times it waslike two nothing.
You know late in there, whichputs a lot more pressure on
especially.
I mean you look at this game, the Brewers starting pitching
will.
I mean you look at a guy likeJoe Russ.
It's a lot more pressure tocome and pitch games where the

(10:34):
Brewers can't score you runs.
I mean look at Corbin Burns lastyear with the Brewers.
How many games can you remember?
And I remember a lot where theBrewers would give him one run
or two runs.
So Burns had to be fantastic, otherwise the odds are he's
probably going to lose that game.
That's where the big differenceis for me this year versus last
year with this Brewers team theability to produce runs, not

(10:59):
just spotty throughout gamesthere or well, not just spotty
in areas right Early on or latein the game.
They finally figured out.
No, this is a Brewers team thatcollectively puts pressure on
teams throughout ball games andI think that if they continue
that throughout the season, that's going to be great stuff.
Because you look at the Reds, they're just like the Brewers.
They get guys on and a majorityof that lineup is looking like

(11:25):
they can steal a base right andthat puts a ton of pressure on
you.
Look at the Brewers againstthis Reds team.
How much pressure having a guyon base like Ellie De La Cruz is
, or even a couple of the otherguys Spencer Steer gets out and
he runs a little bit there.
Jonathan India, guys on thisteam that just get out there and
they run and they're notworried about it.
And that's the thing I see withthe Brewers right now Terang,

(11:46):
frelick, churro, jelich, itdoesn't matter, these guys are
all looking to swipe second base.
Jake Bowers I mean you haveguys on this team, one through
nine and well, askins ContrerasI don't know if they're stealing
many bags out there, but youhave a lineup with so many guys
that are able to steal bags andput pressure on pitchers out

(12:07):
there that that is going to be abig help to this Brewers team.
Also, the small ball game.
I think Perkins one of his hitsearly on I was I was on the
road yet on my way home fromwork when I was listening to it
a little bit there but I believethat one of Perkins hits was a
bunt single there early on and Ilove that.
I love the ability that theseBrewers team isn't afraid.

(12:27):
They aren't afraid to bunt.
That's what I love.
And in situations like that, perkins not a, I mean, he had
well in this game here three forfive, but not a overly dominant
hitter, right, and he stepsinto the box and he bunts her
down.
The third baseline gets firstbase.
That puts pressure on teams now.
Now you just had a guy bunt hisway on.
Now he's a speed threat atfirst base who can steal second

(12:49):
on you and you have to worryabout even the next guy coming
up and bunting him over, right?
I love that.
I love that about this Brewersteam.
So good stuff there with thisBrewers team, especially looking
at this game here against theReds.
I mean just a little more.
I just want to keep talkingabout the Brewers here because I
love what I'm seeing so far.
And my next question and this isone that I don't know how you

(13:14):
know, I've been this guy's hater.
I've been this guy's hater, youknow, just simply because the
down years were the thing thatreally kicked me off the
bandwagon, off the bus, right, and that is I'm talking about
Christian Yelich here.
Is Christian Yelich back?

(13:35):
Is he back?
Are we seeing the ChristianYelich that we saw in 2018?
Are we seeing the guy we saw in2019?
Is this a resemblance of thatguy?
Are we seeing the guy we saw in2019?
Is this a resemblance of thatguy?
The way that it's startingright now, I don't know how.
I would say it's not right.
He's hitting right now.
He's hitting .324 for thisBrewers team.

(13:57):
He's got four home runs.
I believe he's got nine RBIs onthe year already and two steals
, two stolen bases on the yearand he gets on six.
He's scored six times on theyear so far.
I mean OPS sitting at above1,000 right now 1.116 right now

(14:18):
for Jelic, I believe.
He's third and hit, or fourthand third and hits for the
Brewers two with 11 on theyear.
There Is he back.
Is this the Christian Yelichthat we remember?
The power numbers are thereright?
Four home runs.
I mean I think when Austin wason the show here, we did the
over-under for home runs.
It was around like did we setit for 15?

(14:39):
I thought we set it for 15.
We did pick the over.
So I mean we're set up fine.
Right now.
He's got to give me 11 homeruns through the next 100 and
what 150?
Some games that are left on thedocket yet.
I mean it can happen, it canhappen yet.
But I mean when I'm watchingthis guy right now I don't know

(14:59):
if you if you, I mean I don'tknow how you would say it Like,
is he for sure back?
I don't know, but is he hittingat 2020, 2021,
100%?
And it's a lot of it'sconfidence with this guy.
A lot of it is he got himselfin the weight room.
I mean you saw him coming outof the off season Again.

(15:20):
The guy looked like he was.
He's been working and workingon his craft and the swing just
looks a lot more smooth.
Also, the inside pitch he'sgetting to it.
Youknow.
You looked at his numbers evenlast year.
A lot of it was, if guyspitched him inside, he struggled
.
I mean, if you look at it, hestruggled on the inner half.

(15:42):
He struggled to pull thebaseball.
He was a guy who was, I mean, and you can do it, but an inside
out kind of guy.
And does that work for you?
Yeah, I mean, derek Jeter was agreat guy for the inside-out
hit there.
Is it going to work nine timesout of ten?
I mean you could probably makeit work four times out of ten,

(16:02):
but it's great to seehim.
Now he's pulling that insidepitch.
That's something that wehaven't seen.
Is the pull of that insidepitch consistently in a while.
It looks like he's on time, itlooks like he's getting after it
and swinging early and countstoo, you know, getting after
guys and putting bat on ball.

(16:24):
That's something that he didstruggle with, too was seeing
the baseball, I thought.
And now it looks like he'sseeing it like a beach ball out
there, because the amount ofsolid hits that he has had is
fantastic.
I mean, there's nothing morethat you can say about this guy
than what we've seen, and it'sbeen fantastic stuff there

(16:46):
hitting the baseball.
So I'll leave that up to youguys out there.
I mean your own opinions, perspectives on it is Yich
back.
I say, and this is I got aphone call earlier.
My uncle loves to tell me allabout it because he's always,
you know, on the christianyellich side of it, and I've
been like, oh gosh, here we goagain with that kind of stuff,

(17:06):
you know.
And so every day, every day,now that the brewers, I get a
phone call.
I get a phone call from him andhe's got to tell me all about
it.
Oh look, he's got three RBIsand he's two for four on the
game and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was like call me when
it's about halfway through theseason, call me.
You know.
You know I keep saying call meat this point, call me at this

(17:28):
point.
And you know I getit.
The excitement's back right.
The guy that we paid X amountof dollars to to be our number
one guy is producing like ournumber one guy is supposed to,
and that's exciting, that'sfantastic stuff and hopefully
I'm going to tell you this now.
I'll eat my own words on theguy if this continues.

(17:51):
I will.
I am honest to truth.
I will eat my own words.
I told my uncle I was like I'llsay I will announce an apology
to you online.
I will announce an apology, Iwill announce it to everybody,
my apology, and I will send hima letter personally saying I
apologize for anything bad Ihave said about you over the

(18:12):
past three years.
I will send it personally.
Trust me on that one.
So I apologize for anything badI have said about you over the
past three years.
I will send it personally.
Trust me on thatone.
So I mean good stuff there withYelich, all the way around
there.
I mean one through nine.
You can go one through nine onthis team right now and they're
hitting the baseball and that'swhat I think you know.
It's not just Yelich, but nowit's Sal Frelick's hitting the

(18:33):
baseball and Terang's beenhitting the baseball, jackson
Churro, reese, hoskins, contreras has started out the
season hot.
Not many people look at itbecause they're like, well, this
guy's just been like this rightand it's almost like you know
you take it for granted a littlebit how great he's been.
But we've seen a fantasticstart to the year at a William
Contreras there, so good stuffall the way around there for the

(18:54):
Brewers one throughnine.
I mean the biggest thing that Iwant to leave the Brewers on
for the day is just the way thatthey answer throughout games.
Here they don't sit stagnant.
In years past it seemed likethis team was so I don't want to
say relaxed, but it's like theworry wasn't there.

(19:16):
It was like the drive wasn'tthere, the push, the fun aspect
of the game.
They seemed slow, they seemedout of it throughout games and
all that kind ofstuff.
And now you look at this teamthis season here and it's like
we're after you.
I mean I watched Willie Adamasrun up to the batter's box Like
the excitement of this team.
They're all up on this dugoutsteps.
They're all in there cheering.

(19:37):
I mean this team is just fun, that's simple.
The simple thing that I can sayfor the start of this year is
just, this team is fun.
They're fun to watch, they'reexciting, they make the game
exciting.
They're not boring.
You know you get teams that areboring.
I mean you look at a team likethe Yankees.

(19:57):
The Yankees are boring.
If you ask me, they're a boringteam.
But you look at this Brewersteam, even teams like the Braves
they're a little bit youngeryet I mean just exciting
baseball.
Baltimore Orioles, the Tigersjust exciting baseball teams out
there.
The Reds I mean we're playingright now.

(20:19):
We're seeing how exciting.
I mean we're not Reds fans,right?
I mean if you're listening andyou are a Reds fan, you're a
Reds fan, but you get it.
These are exciting teams and Ilove that.
I love where some of theseteams are heading right now,
just the excitement around them.
It's like they're still in highschool or college playing
college ball.
Just the excitement level isunreal.
So love it.
Good stuff there with theBrewers.

(20:40):
So Brewers get the win thereagainst the Reds on Tuesday
night9-5.
Wednesday here we're going tosee the return of Wade Miley.
Wade Miley will be back for theBrewers in that one, starting
his first game of the year.
He'll face off with HunterGreen for the Reds in that one.
Green, nothing and nothing onthe year, with a 2.53 ERA

(21:04):
heading into this one.
So good stuff there.
The flamethrower Green going upagainst.
Do we just call him Father Time?
I don't know what we'd callWade Miley.
Do we just call him father time?
I don't know what we'd callWade Miley.
I'm just going to call this guythe grandpa of the staff.
You know what?
We're just going to call himthe ace of the staff.
Wade Miley's the ace.
We all know it.

(21:24):
We all know secretly deep down.
Wade Miley is the ace of thispitching staff.
So we're going to call him theace of the staff going for the
Brewers in this one.
So good stuffthere.
Coming up tonight here, 540start for the Brewers.
That will be on again.
The game will be on Valley.

But with that, let's get intothe Bucs.
Let's talk Bucs, let's talkBucs for a second.
Bucs got the win against theCeltics last night and you know
what I honestly I want to be100% honest with you guys I did
not expect I would say that Idid not.

(23:33):
I fully went into after talkingabout the Bucs yesterday.
It's like I just mentallyprepared to talk about a Bucs
fifth loss in a row there andthey bounced back big time.
I mean, you look at the Bucs inthis one first quarter they
outscored the Boston Celtics by16, 37-21.
And then in that second quarterthey outscored the Boston

(23:56):
Celtics by 16, 37-21.
And then in that second quarterthey outscored them again there
by four.
In that third quarter that'swhen the Celtics kind of closed
it up.
The Celtics outscored the Bucsthere 24-15.
But the Bucs were able tofinish strong and win this one
104-91 in thisone.
Looking at the Bucs in this onea surprise for me and for many.

(24:17):
Heading into this one, wetalked about some of the things
the Bucs had to change.
Well, they changed.
They went with Patrick Beverlyin that starting rotation and I
mean, if you want more effort, you want somebody to get after
guys, you want a leader outthere on the court, that's Pat
Bev, that's your guy right, he'syour PJ Tucker of this season.

(24:40):
So, pat Bev, he steps into thatstarting role and man, did he
deliver in this one.
20 points for Beverly in thisgame, four for eight from
downtown, eight for 13 from thefield in this one.
10 rebounds, one offensive, nine defensive rebounds in this

(25:00):
game there and also threeassists for him.
They were actually plus 12 withPat Bev on the court there.
So good stuff there out ofBeverly.
In this one.
Brooke Lopez goes for 15 forthe Bucs Middleton with
12.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, that wasthe biggest scare I think Bucs
fans have had in a little whileright now.

(25:22):
Not the scare of we might notwin the first game of the
playoffs, right, we might notmake it out of the first series.
No, we're talking a scare.
Giannis goes down to the floorwith an apparent leg injury.
He gets up and with some helpand all of a sudden stumbles and
it's like, oh boy, what isgoing on?
He's grabbing at his calf area.

(25:43):
I mean I lucky, I was glad itwasn't the knee.
But then when I see himgrabbing down near the lower
part of his calf, I was like ohno, he's had Excuse me there.
He's had that Achilles issuethis year.
And I was like, oh no, don'ttell me, don't tell me that's

(26:05):
his Achilles, because I believeI'm pretty darn sure he was a
game time decision for thisone.
I don't know if it was due tohis Achilles, but I mean to see
him go down it was like no,don't be his Achilles, come on,
tell me it's a cramp.
Tell me it's a cramp, tell mewe're moving on and everything's
good.
And he went back to the lockerroom.
He was walking, but gingerly, and he got back to the locker

(26:30):
room and it came out of there aleft calf strain, just a strain.
And you know it's not greatnews, right.
Still, I mean you're looking ata time frame about three days
before you're starting to feel alittle bit better on that calf.
So the return to action forGiannis, I'm not sure on that

(26:51):
that's going to be something, barring how serious it was and
everything like that recoverytime, how long it's going to
take.
But I mean that was about thebest news you could have gotten
out of that situation.
Besides the fact it could havebeen a cramp right, that would
have been the best news was acramp, but outside of that, I
mean, I'll take I.
I will take the fact that it'sjust a strain and everything's

(27:14):
all good on that end ofit.
So you honest, though, in thisgame before the injury, seven
for 11 in this one, eightrebounds.
He had two blocks and 15 points.
We saw Damian Lillard go for 12in this game here, five for 11
from the floor, two for fivefrom downtown and three rebounds
for him.
Five assists for Dame in thisone.

(27:38):
Chris Middleton, with seventurnovers on the ballgame.
Seven turnovers, that's notgood.
I'm going to tell you that now.
That ain't good.
So I don't know what.
I was watching the Brewers morethan the Bucks there, but seven
turnovers.
I don't care how it happened.
You had seven turnovers.
Even if there was I don't knowa couple of travels and I mean

(28:00):
some unlucky stuff happening, Iget some of it, but seven
turnovers there's still.
I mean, probably a majority ofthose were just bonehead
decisions.
So Middleton struggles in thisone, especially turning the
basketball over there, but nineassists on the game for him
there and looking down the line, here we had Bobby coming off
the bench.
He gave 15.
Aj Green at his sixth off thebench there for the Bucs.

(28:21):
We got a little Ajax time for aminute, I guess in this one
here we got a little Ajax timefor a minute, I guess in this
one here.
And Malik Beasley came off thebench for the Bucs there 25
minutes.
He had five points, one forfive from downtown in this one,
connington with four and thatwas about it for the
Bucs.
In this one.
Bucs shoot 53% from the fieldin this one, not a bad day

(28:43):
shooting the basketball.
And from the three-point linethey were 47% 17 for 36 there.
Only shot shooting thebasketball and from the
three-point line they were 47percent 17 for 36 there.
Only shot two free throws onthe game there from Giannis, two
free throws.
That was it.
Bucs relied heavily on thethree-point ball in this one and
well it worked out in theirfavor 49 rebounds for the Bucs
compared to 38 for the Celtics.
In this one, bucs held theCeltics to 39 percent from the

(29:04):
field and 32% from downtown inthis one.
Looking at the Celtics, tatumhad 22, holiday had 12, derek
White had 9, and Brown had 14.
No Porzingis in this game.
He was out for this Celticsteam.
Xavier Tillman, a formerMichigan State player.
I did not know Xavier Tillmanwas actually playing in the

(29:26):
league.
That's interesting stuff there.
He had six points.
Former Wisconsin Badger, playedfor Virginia and also played
for Marquette for a little bitthere.
Sam Hauser 28 minutes, 3-8 fromthe field, 2-6 from downtown.
Eight points on this ballgamehere for Hauser.

(29:47):
So good stuffthere.
Out of the Bucs.
In this one, bucs got a win.
That's all we could hope for.
Right Got a win and now theymove on.
I believe they will playtonight here.
Yeah, tonight they have theMagic, so we're going to shoot
Shot in the dark.
Shot in the dark tells me no,giannis, for this one we're

(30:08):
never, we're never sure onwhat's going on with Dame, so
let's just leave that one asgame time decision as of right
now.
As I'm shooting this, you neverknow what Dame and Middleton
you never know, so we don't know.
About the injury report for theBucs it seems like it's
something new every day withthis Bucs team.
Hopefully, though hopefully, giannis everything checks out

(30:30):
further with Giannis and he isgood to go here pretty darn soon
because the Bucs have Wednesday, friday and then I believe that
game will be on Sunday, thelast game of the regular season
there for the Bucs against theMagic, and then they will have
to get ready here for theplayoffs.

(30:51):
So good stuff there coming outof Milwaukee.
On that one, one of myoh.
Before I get to my stat of theday there, I want to get and
look at a couple more of oursponsors just real quick here.
First, your hometown team, century 21 Gold Key Realty.
Call Peggy, peggy sewer, annato find your dream home.
Or, if you're looking to sell, find them on facebook at your

(31:12):
hometown team, century 21 goldkey realty.
Or stop in and see them attheir location in
marshfield.
Also, sports scene, sportscards and memorabilia.
Stop in there in the marshfieldmall and see al.
He has everything you need fromsporting cards and memorabilia.

He's got it all down there atthe marshfield mall.

(31:32):
Get down there and see him atthe store.
Sports scene in marshfield,wisconsin.
Also sport and spine clinic ingreenwood, wisconsin.
If you've been injured recently, whether it was playing
basketball in your local alumnitournament, or it was, I don't
know, softball baseball at work, whether you were just doing
some yard work and you feltsomething pop, get yourself down

(31:55):
to Sport and Spine Clinic inGreenwood, wisconsin.
Chad will see you, he'll getyou right, he'll get you back to
doing the things you enjoy.
Get down there Sport and SpineClinic in Greenwood,
wisconsin.
But with that I got to get tomy stat of the day, this one.
Coming out of the NCAA, we sawa stat the UConn and Purdue

(32:18):
National Championship gameaveraged 14.8 million viewers
14.8.
14.8 million viewers 14.8.
That means that the Women'sNational Championship game had
more viewers than the men's forthe first time ever.
Uconn and Pertua had 14.8.
Iowa and South Carolina had18.9.

(32:39):
This is the only thing I got tosay, and I'm not taking
anything away from the women inthis one.
Did some of the viewership haveto do with the late start time
for the men's championship game?
And it might not.
I'm just asking a question tomyself.
I guess there, because there'snobody talking to me on this one
.
But I mean, I just that wasgoing to

(33:02):
be.
Another thing I was going totalk about was what the heck is
up with the late start time.
I mean you look at the women'snational championship, like a
three o'clock start on a Sunday,that's fantastic.
That's a fantastic time.
Now this is a Monday for themen's game, so I'm not saying
start at three, there's a lot ofpeople still at work.
What I'm saying is like five,30, even six o'clock, but here

(33:22):
in the state of Wisconsin, Imean, what was it?
It was an 8-20 start for thatgame and I just thought that was
ridiculous.
I really did.
I get location has something todo with it there, but move the
game up, move the game up.
I mean I just thought it wasridiculous an 8-20 start
time.
And you wonder why viewershipmight have been down because of

(33:44):
that.
Because this was a heavyweightbattle.
I mean you can't say that therewas better.
You know, last season it waswhat we had san diego state and
gonzaga, or no.
San diego state and uh, you gotsorry, sorry about that.
I just blanked for a secondthere.
San diego state and uh, yukon, you're gonna tell me that there

(34:05):
was.
I mean that game didn't get alot of viewership either.
But I mean you have a nationalchampionship game with two
heavyweights in Purdue and UConn.
Everybody wants to see how ZachEadie plays against Klingin in
there and I mean it was afantastic game.
I don't know if everybody gotable to watch that game.
Uconn did win it there by awide margin.

(34:26):
They were able to shut downEdie.
I thought that was fantasticstuff and Edie got called for a
little bit of stuff in that game, a lot of stuff he should have
been called for.
You know, I watch it and I waslistening to who was it today?
Mike Greenberg on Greeny onESPN radio there and he was
talking about the game and hegoes.
I don't know if anybody hasn'twatched big ten basketball or

(34:47):
anything like that, but he goeswatching zach edie.
Officials must just love himand he went on a rant about it.
They're basically saying howyou know, not calling fouls on
him and everything like that, and it's been true all season
long.
It's just people don't want tobelieve it.
People don't watch for that.
They watch for the skill level.
The guy's got a boatload ofskill of an interior post player

(35:09):
.
But the problem is is how hegets there right and the I mean
last night I saw him actually acall for a travel.
I haven't seen somebody callzach eddie for a travel all
season long and he got calledfor one in there.
I thought it was great.
I thought that's something thatshould have happened all year
long, because how do you?
I mean, I guess if he's goingto the league, then the travel

(35:31):
kind of goes away when you getan NBA.
So maybe they're just preparinghim for the NBA.
They're like you can have fivesteps, that's fine.
I mean just just ridiculousstuff there.
But I mean, hey, it wasa.
I thought it was a goodnational championship.
I just thought UConn was toomuch.
I really did Just like watchingthe women's national
championship game with Iowa andSouth Carolina.
Uconn just has so much talenton that roster, not just in the

(35:55):
starting five but coming off thebench too.
They have depth and it's justridiculous when you watch that
team and I believe it wasKlingin got into foul trouble
there and they brought in one ofthose bench players and he
checked Edie out once and fromthere on it's like Edie wasn't
the same player.
He got pushed around by a guywho was a little bit smaller and

(36:16):
all of a sudden Edie I meanjust didn't know what to do and
I thought that was a fantastic.
I thought that was fantastic.
I'd love to see it.
Well, I had UConn winning thenational championship, so I'd
love to see it there.
I had UConn winning thenational championship, so I'd
love to see itthere.
And I'm always for the downfallof Purdue.
Trust me, I'm always fordownfall of Purdue.
I'm a Badger fan.
I'm not one of those guys whosays Badgers are out, I'm going

(36:36):
to cheer for the Big Ten.
No way.
I don't like Purdue.
I especially don't like Duke.
So not Big Ten, but I don'tlike Duke.
So I'm never going to cheer forDuke.
But I mean just, I'm not thatBig Ten fan who's going to cheer
for the next Big Ten team?
No, no, no, no way.
Unless I picked them in mybracket.
I don't care, I'm all fordownfall.
So good stuffthere.

(36:56):
Coming out of the men'stournament in yesterday's action
.
But I thought that wasinteresting to see the
viewership higher in thatwomen's game than it was in the
men's.
Was it due to the start time?
I don't know.
I don't know, but we'll neverknow.
We'll never know unless we askeverybody in the world.
Why did you not watch the men'snational championship game?
But with that this has beenWisconsin Sports on the go with

(37:18):
Trace.
Thank you guys for listening.
I hope you enjoy your Wednesday, but until we catch you guys
again on the show here onThursday, tomorrow, deuces, yeah

(37:44):
, oh, my Lord, watch me sway.
Darkness falls and we all pray, hoping for the light of day
Down to the river.
I have held the devil's hand, felt the weight of my own sin
Buried by the devil's hand.
