Speaker 1 (00:14):
Thank you.
What are we doing on thistuesday, a fantastic, fantastic

(00:44):
Tuesday, here in the great stateof Wisconsin?
This is Wisconsin Sports on thego with Trage.
I'm your host, trage.
And well, I told you, I toldyou we would talk Packers draft
today.
So we're going to be talkingabout Packers draft, but I got
to talk about that, whatever itwas.
We saw last night for an endingto the Brewer game, a terrible

(01:07):
game all the way around byMilwaukee.
So I'm not going to dive toodeep into it, I don't want to
talk about it too much becausewe have a lot to get into with
the NFL draft.
But I mean, just to start itout, watching that game, last
night I fell asleep, I'll behonest with you.
I mean, worked all day, camehome I was, you know, getting

(01:31):
ready for the show and then Iwas watching that Brewer game
and well, it was, I mean, pretty, pretty boring, to be honest
with you.
So about the seventh inning, Idozed, I dozed a little bit, I
dozed a little bit and I wokeback up.
Eighth inning you know I didn'tdoze for that long, but I dozed
off a little bit there, wokeback up.
Bottom of the eighth inning, there Went to the ninth and the

(01:51):
Brewers Sal got it going for theBrewers there in that bottom
half, the ninth doubles.
And then we saw Adamas walkedthe double steal.
Well, that all happened.
Now there's an out in theinning Bauer's coming to the
play.
Okay, here we go.
Here we go drop.
Third strike ball gets by thecatcher.
Wild pitch ball gets by thecatcher.

(02:12):
Jake Bowers bat comes through, hits the catcher on his
backswing.
Okay, it automatic dead ball.
That it's a dead play, playsdead.
Right.
Then nothing else can happenexcept for Jake Bowers going to
first base, because whathappened before, the wild pitch,
happened before now.

(02:34):
I don't like the rule, simplybecause the catcher came into
Jake Bowers lane, you know, andI guess when I say lane I am
talking about so Bowers has gotthe batter's box back, right.
So I mean we see guys makethese extended backswings all
the time.
The catcher slides and he slidinto Bowers' lane, his backward

(02:59):
motion lane there where Bowers'bat's going to come back.
So first off, I don't like tocall anyways, he came.
You know if the catcher wouldhave stood up and ran across
trying to catch this lane therewhere bowers bat's gonna come
back.
So, first off, I don't like tocall anyways, he came.
You know, if the catcher wouldhave stood up and ran across
trying to catch this ball behindbowers and bowers backswing
hits him, I get you want to callit a dead ball, but at the same
time I'm like it's gonna happen.
What are you, what are yousupposed to do as a batter?

(03:19):
Then you know, you're you'rekind of limiting what the batter
can do, okay, but beyond that,so the ball gets by before the
backwards contact happens.
So, bowers, that's a drop.
Third strike Bowers should beable to run two first, which he
did.
He made it there, uncontested.
Sal Frelick did try to score.

(03:40):
They sent him back.
That's the right, I meantechnically, according to the
rules of the game.
That is the right, that's theright call.
Okay, that made sense.
But no, no, now we're going tocall Jake Bowers out on the play
.
How?
What I want to know is how Arewe going to get a second day of

(04:05):
Brewer baseball where after thegame we get another and pardon
my French freaking apology fromthe MLB?
Is that what we're going to getout of this?
Is it an apology from the MLB?
Like, yeah, you know, we knowwe messed up, we're sorry.

(04:26):
We're sorry.
We screwed you over.
I mean, you know you lost thatgame to the Yankees and in that
big inning Aaron Judge stuck hishand up and well, there was
interference there that couldn'tbe reviewed and the ump screwed
up.
And now, against the Rays, there was this call that, well,
the ball got by the catchays.
There was this call that, well, the ball got by the catcher and

(04:48):
it shouldn't have been blowndead for Bowers there, but it
was.
But it was, and we really aresorry, though we hope that you
can somehow forgive us and justkeep going on.
And keep going on.
Like the MLB is a crap show.
I gotta be honest.
I was having a conversationwith one of my good buddies out

(05:12):
there.
He has his own show.
They're the BrewPod BrewersPodcast.
I believe it's called theBrewPod.
I'm pretty darn sure they're.
I could be mistaken.
I feel bad if I get them wrongthere on the shout out the
BrewPod Between the LinesBrewers Podcast.
I was having a good conversationthere with Caden is his name.
Over there.
We've been chatting back andforth, talking about the brewers

(05:34):
and everything like that.
We met each other.
I found his show on Facebookthere and we've been chatting
back and forth a little bit andhe messaged me and he's like
what was that?
I mean like you know, he's likehe said, I mean you know that
the game, the Brewers suckedanyways in this game, but that's

(05:57):
a terrible call and I was likeit was.
I mean we were talking about ita little bit there, just as I've
been telling you guys basicallyhow I feel about it here, and
you know I just said I said theMLB is broken.
It is broken.
This is a league now that ismoney driven.
We're going to do everything wecan do to get money.

(06:18):
That's what we need.
That's what professional sportsare turning into is a money
game.
Sports are turning into is amoney game.
And can you blame them?
Are we going to sit here andtell each other that we're just
going to boycott and everythinglike that?
No, we're not going to.
That's just how it is.
We're not going to do it.
But I mean it's money-drivengames now where it's like you
look at the NBA.
They complain how the game isplayed.

(06:40):
Well, force some of your rules, right, force some of your rules
.
Maybe the game wouldn't beplayed like that.
The nfl how the hell are yousupposed to tackle anybody
anymore?
I have no idea.
I have absolutely no idea, except for I believe it's still
legal to hit them in themidsection, believe that in the
gut area?
I believe that's still legal.
Every other form of tackling,I'm pretty sure, is out the door

(07:02):
at this point.
So so look at the NFL.
How are you supposed to playthat game anymore?
Look at baseball.
Now we can review everythingexcept for balls and strikes,
foul or fair on the infield andinterferences.
Apparently, we cannot review ofinterference.
Why would that be?

(07:25):
The one call we cannot make isa freaking interference call.
We see how many timesthroughout games, base runner
interference or catcherinterference or whatever it is.
We see all these.
Why can't we review it?
Why can't we go to the boardand say if you want to use your
challenge at an interference, bemy guest?
Why can't we review it?
Why can't we go to the boardand say if you want to use your

(07:45):
challenge at an interference, bemy guest?
Why can't we?
I don't get it same thing inthis situation.
Why in the hell can we not callsomebody these umpires?
Why can't they call somebodyand say, hey, dude, what does
the rule say?
Right, because I mean, you haveall these rule experts out

(08:08):
there who have all these rulesin the back of their mind?
They have the rule book sittingin front of them.
Why can't we call somebody whohas these rules in front of them
?
Why do we have numb nuts anddippy behind home plate?
Numb nuts last night, becausethat's all I can think.
When I'm looking at his face, there is numbnuts.
I don't know if he was tryingto run a wood chipper or what he

(08:29):
was doing out there with thesafety glasses on Probably
prescription or whatever, but itlooked like safety glasses.
I mean I wear those same styleones when I'm out there on the
job site and I'm trying not toget metal shavings in my
eyeballs.
That's what he's wearing outthere.
So he's trying to run a woodchipper out there.

(08:51):
These umpires don't have afreaking clue what they're
looking at anymore.
I mean I'm so heated right nowI got something going on my
throat there.
I mean you look at that play atthird there joey ortiz the base
hit down that left field lineand or that ended up being a
double.
But you look at that play wherethe hell's the third base or
third base umpire looking?
He's looking back towards thepitcher's mound and the balls by

(09:12):
him and then he makes the callof foul.
He makes the call of foul why?
It's simple, can it?
Simply as can be when a ballgets hit down the line, just
like if you listen to, if youlisten to the Brewers radio or
if you're watching on TV there, jeff Levering said it plain as
day you call it fair up until itgets overturned.

(09:34):
Why do you want the play toplay out?
Kevin Cash came out there andhe argued for freaking.
Why doesn't Kevin Cash getfreaking tossed?
He argued for 15 minutes abouta call that was already made.
The umpires sent him to secondbase.
Why is he stalling this game off?
I don't get it.
I don't.
It is just, honestly, the pasttwo days of watching brewer

(09:56):
baseball outside of the brewersjust sucking on offense and the
pitching staff finally thepitching staff played good and
the bre Brewers still lost 1-0.
But I mean outside of that, Ihave really seen the past two
days where the MLB just sucks, where it just plain out sucks.
It used to be this game that was.

(10:17):
You know, you didn't have allthese issues.
Nowadays.
You want to know how bad MLBumpiring is.
You want to know how littlecare the MLB puts into their MLB
umps, we still have AngelHernandez calling games.
Let's just be real withourselves for a second.
Yes, he's a storyline.
Yes, everybody talks about himwhen he comes to town.
But you guess what?
He sucks.

(10:38):
We've seen it, we know it, theMLB knows it, yet he is still
employed.
Why?
We know it, the MLB knows it,yet he is still employed.
Why Tell me that?
Why, we see how many crappyumpires there are in the MLB.
You have how many minor leagueumpires.
I don't know.
I don't have the number.
I really don't have the numberoff the top of my head.
I don't have the number pulledup on my screen, but I tell you

(11:01):
there's probably a metric shitton and you can't tell me.
You can't find better thanthese idiots, these bunch of
doorknobs.
This crew that is in milwaukeeright now should be investigated
by the mlb for sucking, justsimply sucking.
How could a ball get hit downthe third baseline and nobody
knows where it landed?
The umpire has no freaking clue.
He had no clue.
Like these umpires, they just Imean, truth be told just seem

(11:29):
incompetent.
That that is basically all Ican leave it at.
Is that they just seemincompetent at their jobs.
If I went to a job and I didn'tknow what the hell I was doing,
I would my job.
These guys go to their jobs.
They can't do it right.
They can't enforce Excuse methere.

(11:50):
They can't enforce their ownrules, the rules that are
created by the MLB.
They can't figure them out ortake time to.
Jeez Louise, it's kicking mybutt just talking about this.
Oh, excuse me there.
They can't even enforce theirown rules.

(12:12):
Right now, something's got tochange, something has to change
in the game of baseball, becauseI mean, I mean, we saw it there
, we've seen it before.
We've seen the horse crap calls, we've seen the horse crap
enforcement of rules throughoutthe MLB, and yet there's no

(12:38):
penalty, there's nothing.
There's no like hey, you made abad call, take a couple days
off.
There's none like hey, you madea bad call, take a couple days
off.
There's none of that.
Why?
Why is that?
Why do these guys I meanBrewers have been screwed two
days in a row?
There's a lot of teams who havebeen screwed this year, whether

(12:58):
by balls and strikes calls, whether by calls in the field,
whatever it is, there has been alot of teams getting screwed
this year and it hasn't changed.
It hasn't changed.
It is getting closer and closerand I think the MLB is just
doing it basically because theyjust want robotic umpires.
They want to stop having to payMLB umps and they just want to

(13:22):
have these robotic umpires inthere.
That's what they want, plainand simple.
If to have these roboticumpires in there, that's what
they want, plain and simple Ifthey leave these doorknobs in
here, they'll get it.
They'll get it eventually, angel Hernandez, why are they
leaving them in there?
They want robo umps, simple asthat.
It has to be something alongthose lines, because right now,

(13:43):
watching this crap show, watching that crap show that was
last night, watching the crapshow that was the day before,
I'm glad Pat Murphy got tossed.
I am glad that Pat Murphy wentout there and he lost his temper
.
I am 1,000% behind him on that, because you got screwed over
the day before.
You got screwed over in thisone.
Lose it, man, lose it and makeit worth it.

(14:05):
He made it worth getting tossedout of this one.
So with that, a little bit of ahot start, hot start to the
show, right, hot start to theshow.
Got to start out every showwith something and that was our
hot start to the show rightthere.
So with that, before we move onhere and get a little into the

(14:25):
Packers and the Packers NFLdraft here, I want to look at a
couple of our sponsors here.

(15:36):
So with that, with that gettingoff, hot start, hot start to
this tuesday here and it is.
I'm loving it.
I'm loving it.
You got to get a little heatedevery once in a while and well,
that got me.
That got me hot.
Last night, I told you I woke upfrom a nap and I woke up and I
was in fighting mood.
I was, I was in that fightingmood, right, you just you ever

(15:56):
had that.
You just wake up and you'rejust like son of a gun.
I could fight a bear right now.
Probably wouldn't win, but Icould fight a bear right now.
I woke up in that kind of moodand when I got up and I watched
the end of that Brewer game, Iwas like, ah, I'm gonna go jump
on, I'm gonna go jump on theshow here and I am going to lose
my cool.
And that is exactly whathappened during this one.

(16:17):
I just I couldn't hold it back.
I couldn't hold it back.
Probably some of the things Isaid they're a little far out, a
little far out, but hey, that'show a lot of people feel.
I'm gonna be honest with you.
That is how a lot of peoplefeel about the crap show that is
going on all the way aroundright now.
So with that, I want to get intosomething we're going to talk.
It's going to be a little bitmore exciting, right, a little

(16:39):
bit more exciting in terms ofleading up into an upcoming
season.
So last season we watchedPackers.
Second half of the year theyreally started cooking, made it
all the way into the NFCdivisional round there.
I mean, should have probablymade it to the NFC championship
game but blew the lead againstthe San Francisco 49ers.

(17:00):
The rest is history, right.
So now we're in an offseason.
It's adding on, right, we'rereloading, we're retooling and
we're going to get ready to rockand roll right Heading into
that 2024 season there when theyhad to play the Eagles in that
first match up there.
So, opening round we haven'ttalked about really any of this

(17:25):
draft yet, so we're just goingto jump back to the opening
round here.
First round I mean we watchedthe draft and we're watching it
unfold and it's like CooperDeGene hasn't been drafted,
cooper DeGene hasn't beendrafted, cooper DeGene hasn't
been drafted.
And then we got all the way to25, and the Packers were on the
clock and I was like, put it tothe bank, cooper DeGene is a

(17:48):
Green Bay Packer, right, welistened to Goody talk before.
It was like this is the guy hewants in the secondary for Green
Bay.
Well, he surprised the crap outof me Because he did not take
Cooper DeGene.
I really did think he'd takehim.
I'm going to be honest with you.
I was like this is a no-brainerand apparently there's a lot

(18:08):
more brains to the operationthan I thought.
Because, goody, he jumps out ofneed, right, the Packers needed
a tackle, they needed someoffensive line help.
I'm not going to say that thepick was.
It's unproven right.
Every time you go into NFL draft, it seems like everybody gets
irritated by a pick that is maderight.

(18:30):
Especially early on, we talkedabout Packers making that pick
of Rashawn Gary.
There was people who were irate.
They're like, yeah, he's anidiot, why would he pick Rashawn
Gary in this spot?
That's the dumbest thing hecould ever do.
Jordan Love's a prime example.
Stupid, that was me.
That was me.
What, why, why, why, why did wepick this guy here?

(18:51):
We got so many options behindhim here, right, and we jump on
this Jordan Love bandwagon.
I mean, that was me.
I'll be honest with you, thatwas me.
It seemed like it worked out.
It seemed like it worked out sogood against has this whole
thing, this whole scheme, to himright?
He didn't, like I heard today Ican't remember if it was a

(19:13):
caller in on the Bill Michaelsshow or where I heard it but
some guy said he's like hedidn't go off Mel Kuyper's board
.
He didn't go off of this guy'sboard.
He said he went off of thePackers board and you know
that's what he did in this one.
Jordan Morgan, first round pick,25th pick, offensive tackle
coming out of Arizona there, arizona there, heading into

(19:37):
Green Bay, 6'5", 311 pounds.
And for a 6'5 dude who's 311pounds?
This guy has got some agilityand he's got the ability to get
outside the numbers and be ableto pick up blocks up the field.
I was watching a little bit ofhis highlight tape there and I
saw a highlight of him on ascreen play getting out and

(20:00):
getting a lead block there, andthis guy has got some.
I mean he's got some agility.
He's got the ability to get outin that open field and make
some key blocks for this Packersteam now.
Will he stay at the guard or onthat tackle position?
I don't know simply because heis a shorter armed guy you know
a lot of tackles.

(20:20):
They like to see tackles havinglonger arms, being able to
reach outside the body a littlebit more.
Maybe he slides into a guardspot.
But this guy has got some speedand he's got the ability to
move around and I watched him.
There was a highlight that I sawof him.
There was a blitz coming on hisleft side.

(20:42):
I believe it was a linebackercoming in hot off of that left
side and he picked him up deepin the backfield and actually
knocked him off his route, gavehis quarterback time to make a
key throw there in that game.
So, watching the stuff ofJordan Morgan if he's healthy I
mean everybody was worried abouthis injury in the past and
everything like that If he'shealthy and this guy's ready to

(21:05):
rock and roll, he could be aforce to be reckoned with and
with that body frame already andhis skillset he could make an
instant impact with the GreenBay Packers on the offensive
line.
So I personally am not.
You know there's a lot ofpeople who hate that pick by
Green Bay.
I am not completely sold thatthat is not going to be a solid

(21:27):
one and may benefit them earlyon here in this upcoming season.
So after that first round pick, the Packers moved into that
second round.
The Packers moved into thatsecond round and the door was
still open.
The door was still open Atnumber 41,.

(21:51):
Green Bay still had theopportunity to get up in the
draft and possibly get CooperDeGene.
Yet they said, eh, let's tradeit away.
They dumped it to the Saints.
The Saints ended up withKool-Aid McKinstry another guy
that we were looking at asPacker fans as a potential guy
to come to Green Bay and theytraded all the way back to 45.

(22:12):
And at that 45 spot they pickedup Edrin Cooper there, the top
linebacker in the entire draft.
There he is a very good rundefender, led the SEC with 17
tackles for loss in 2023.
And I mean this guy getsthrough the gaps hard.

(22:32):
His foot speed is really good.
This guy can get outside and hecan run down.
There was a highlight of himrunning down a running back
after like 20 yards, closing thegap on him and taking him down.
So this guy has got the speed.
I was just watching hishighlight tape here and I mean

(22:54):
you watch this guy in the openfield making tackles, making
tackles at the line, gettinginto that backfield.
He's I mean watching a lot ofthese highlights here that I'm
seeing on the screen right now.
This guy is, I mean, in thebackfield.
He is making tackles on some ofthese receivers, on these
running backs, whatever it is,whoever he's lined up on, and
getting into the backfield andtaking down the quarterback too.

(23:16):
This guy is all over the placereading plays.
I've seen one here with Milrow.
Milrow tried to get outside onhim.
He was a little QB spy in thatsituation and Cooper took him
down in the backfield there.
So just to tell about hisexplosive speed there, because
Milrow for Alabama theirquarterback, he had some decent
speed there.
And this guy, I mean he getsafter you, he gets after you, he

(23:39):
gets after you.
And that led into that nextpick in that second round for
green bay, that 58th pick in thedraft there.
And this guy, he's another guy.
He is another guy who getsafter you there.
Jvn bullard 511 198 pounds outof georgia safety there he's a
versatile safety but I mean hisbiggest thing is he's got a

(24:02):
burst to him like no other andhe loves, loves, loves,
undercutting, undercuttingroutes and playing on the line.
This guy is a big hitter.
I'm talking, this guy is gonnalay the boom on you and you can
see it.
I mean, you look this guy up.
You watch some of his highlighttapes all over the place and

(24:23):
this guy has got some speed tohim.
You look at this.
I mean I'm watching this playerfrom the 2023 uh playoff there,
undercutting her out there andgetting an interception.
I mean this guy is a ball hawk.
He's gonna be all over theplace, kind of like an
underrated version of cooperdejeene.
I mean I'm watching a play nowof him taking down a, running
back there in the backfield andjust beating him to the outside,

(24:47):
but he lays the boom.
He is a safety who is not afraidto put his body out there and
lay the boom on you, and that issomething Green Bay needs in
this new defensive style thatthey want to play A linebacker
who they can use in differentpackages to get after some of

(25:07):
these quarterbacks that aretrying to break the pocket,
whatever it is there.
Also, you can scheme them upthere to send them on a rush.
Whatever you got to do there.
This guy is a dangerous manthere at the safety position.
I love that pick from Green Bayin the second round there and
then that leads us into thethird round.
That leads us back into thatthird round there where the

(25:31):
Packers they were, I believe, near the end of it in that third
round that 91st pick in the nfldraft there they ended up
getting the linebacker out ofmissouri there, tyron hopper out
of missouri there, 13th rankeduh linebacker there, 191st
overall there in the league.

(25:52):
And I mean he's not a hugeinside linebacker there.
He's about 6'2", 231 poundsthere and he's good at getting
downhill and getting between thetackles though he's quick, he's
quick, he can get in betweenthe tackle.
He's going to be a good gap guyfor you there and he's going to
disrupt plays in the backfieldright.

(26:13):
He's got that ability, thatspeed threat to him that he can
chase down guys in thatbackfield there.
And you know, with the loss ofDevondre Campbell there you're
going to have pieces you'readding in like Edger and Cooper.
But this is a guy who couldalso fill in at times for you
and he's going to be a matchupguy for I mean you look at tight

(26:34):
ends.
You need a guy to line up withtight ends out there.
He could be a very good coverlinebacker for you going up
against some of these tight endsout there.
So I like, I like this.
I think it's a solid pick thing.
Their linebacker room was veryscarce heading into this
upcoming season here and thepackers are kind of addressing

(26:55):
that throughout this draft here.
So that leads us into thatfourth round and the fourth
round is where the packers Ikind of addressing that
throughout this draft here.
So that leads us into thatfourth round.
And the fourth round is wherethe Packers I believe they had a
couple picks happen in thatfourth round or I could be
mistaken just the one, just theone there.
They had the 111th pick therein that fourth round there and
they got Evan Williams out ofOregon there and you look at

(27:18):
Evan Williams there and oh, youknow, I missed a solid pick.
I missed a solid pick.
That is my mistake.
That is my mistake there.
In that third round the Packersdid get.
I went to 91st right away.
I didn't even jump backwardsthere to that pick at 88 there

(27:40):
and that was the running backout of USC.
That was Marshawn Lloyd therecompletely blanked me.
I was just, I was looking, Iwas cross-referencing my list
because I was like I believe Imissed somebody and that was the
running back out of USC there, marshawn Lloyd, and he's coming
in 5'9, 220.
But this guy has got some speedto him.

(28:01):
I mean, when he stayed healthyyou could have arguably said he
was might have been the bestrunning back in this draft here.
I mean, look at him, hisacceleration, getting around the
corners there and also havingthe ability to find holes in the
defense there.
He is an all-around greatrunning back there.
Has the ability to bounce uhoutside there and also shift

(28:24):
through the traffic up themiddle there.
But this guy has got some speedto him.
And in the open field, theathleticism.
I mean one of his mainhighlights he had from back in I
believe, the 2020 season washim hurtling a guy in the open
field there.
I mean you talk aboutathleticism.
This guy's got the athleticism.
He's got the ability to read adefense and also change

(28:44):
direction on a dime and alsochange direction on a dime.
This guy is going to be a forceto be reckoned with, with Green
Bay adding him in there with abackfield of AJ Dillon and also
having Josh Jacobs already, heis going to be set up in a prime
spot to produce for the GreenBay Packers there and possibly
develop into a number one backfor Green Bay down the road.

(29:06):
I mean you're talking aboutJosh Jacobs here right away, but
this is a guy who has theability to develop into
something good for the Green BayPackers moving forward.
So with that I got through thethree rounds there.
My mistake on missing thatMarshawn Lloyd pick there.
But before we move on and getto the rest of the draft here, I
just wanted to mention the lastcouple of our sponsors here.

(29:27):
Quick of the show.
First, marshfield motorspeedways, located just three
miles outside of marshfield oncounty road h.
Stop in there this summer orfall for some great family fun,
fun for all ages.
And I mean great family, greatfood, great drinks, great fun.
I mean the whole.
The whole atmosphere is justfantastic down there.
You, you got to get down to thetrack there.

(29:48):
Just go.
You head out of Marshfieldthere on H.
You'll see it up on your leftthere.
You can't miss it.
You can't miss the track there.
You got to get down there thissummer.
Find the schedule on Facebookor online.
Just search Marshfield MotorSpeedways.
You'll find the schedule onthere and you'll be able to plan
some fantastic summer days andnights down at track.
There also sports scene, sportscards memorabilia located in the

(30:10):
marshville mall in marshville,wisconsin.
There you got to get down therefind, if you are a sports cards
enthusiast, memorabilia.
You need a new jersey, you needa model stock car, whatever you
need.
Al has it all.
So stop in there.
Sports scene in marshville, wisconsin, and also pittsville
farm and Home Center inPittsville, wisconsin.
I mean, spring is here.

(30:31):
We know spring's here.
It's been a little rainy, butyou got to get down there.
They have it all.
They got seeds for your garden, they have fertilizers, they
have lawn garden care supplies, they have building supplies Not
wood, not any of the crazy stuffbut you need a Milwaukee drill.
You, not any of the crazy stuff, but you need a Milwaukee drill
.
You need any of that kind ofstuff.
They got it down there at thestore.
So get down there.
Pittsville Farm and Home Centerin Pittsville, wisconsin.

(30:53):
But with that we made it toround four.
I was there already, but I hadto go back and talk about
Marshawn Lloyd there, so we talkabout now we have Evan Williams
there with that 111th pick, thesafety out of Oregon.
This came from the New YorkJets trade.
He actually started at FresnoState, ended up at Oregon there

(31:16):
and led the Ducks in tackles inhis only season there.
Right now, I mean this is a guywho gets after the run.
You look at every guy thePackers got in this draft here
and you're going to talk aboutaggression.
You're going to talk about guyswho aren't afraid to get
themselves, get dirty and getinto the backfield and make
tackles.
That is what you love to see, especially with a guy in Heffley
coming in who loves to playaggressive.

(31:38):
This is a team that is going toplay aggressive right with them
there.
So I love what the Packers didin this draft Evan Williams
coming into Green Bay out ofOregon playing at a pretty good
program there in Oregon and Imean we're talking about a guy
who had a 4.56 40-yard dashthere at his pro day.

(32:01):
Now you're talking to a guy whoran.
I think I ran like a 5.
I think I ran like a 5 one timebut I think I I cheated the
system.
But either way, I mean I 4.5 ispretty darn fast to me and this
is a pretty big guy 5, 11, 200pounds.
They're coming out of oregonand this is a guy who is going
to be a force.
And I mean just talking aboutwe talked about there before the

(32:25):
safety and jV and Bullard therecoming out of Georgia.
This is the same style guy.
This is a guy who loves I meanhe has.
He's a ball hawk, he undercutsroutes like it's his job.
I mean it is his job.
But this is a guy who is goingto be a force to be reckoned
with with Green Bay at somepoint here.
The safety realm.
They needed some.

(32:46):
They could.
I, I mean you could always useextra help out there, right, and
this is a guy I mean you.
You watch his highlight tape.
There had a couple of goodplays against usc.
They're sacking caleb williamsin the backfield and then also,
I mean had another sack thereagainst uh, utah in his game
against utah.
There a couple of good playsagainst utah.
So this is a guy who's going tobe a disruptor.
You, you can send him on ablitz, you can drop him back

(33:08):
into coverage and you're notgoing to lose anything out of
this guy.
Evan Williams is a fantasticsafety coming out of Oregon
there.
So that leads us into the twopicks in round five for the
Green Bay Packers.
They had two picks in thatround.
It looks like they had the163rd pick there.

(33:29):
That was from.
The Buffalo Bills is where theydrafted that one.
They got Jacob Monk, the center, out of Duke.
This is a guy I mean he is atraditional center.
That is the only spot he plays.
He plays center and he has gotsome speed to him there.
I mean Monk, he can get off theball, he gets off the ball
quick and he him there.
I mean Monk, he can get off theball, he gets off the ball
quick and he's got.

(33:50):
I mean you want initial pop.
This guy gives you initial pop6'3", 308 pounds of pure man
coming at you there and I meanall around.
You know.
You look at Duke and you sayI've never trusted guys coming
out of these kind of schools.
I mean that's a basketballplace, right.
I mean they're not known fortheir football guys.

(34:11):
But he's a guy who can get tothe next level.
He's going to get to thatlinebackers and he's going to be
able to read them.
He is better in pass coversthan what he's going to be in
run.
But he's got enough tools inhis toolbox that I believe he

(34:31):
can develop into being that guy.
Now is he going to be that guyright off the bat for Green Bay?
I don't think so.
But you look at this guy.
He's a solid pass, like I said,solid pass blocker, and he's
going to be able to anchor downthe middle of the offense.
He's going to be able to anchorit.
I really do think he can.
I I'm not I'm not opposed tothis pick.

(34:54):
Now they I mean look at him atduke they did move him out to
the guard spot a little bitthere and he did make some solid
plays out there.
But I mean, he's a center.
He's a center by trade andwhere the Packers choose to use
him now, knowing that he hasthat versatility, the ability to
possibly be on the outside foryou at that guard spot, not a

(35:16):
bad dealio there.
But this is a solid pickup byGreen Bay.
They need offensive line help.
They found a guy who canpossibly kick out to a guard
spot if needed down the road, possibly kick out to a guard
spot if needed down the road.
So that led into what I thoughtwas one of the better picks in
the draft by green bay and thiswas at the 169 spot there.

(35:39):
Ketan, uh, ola dappo there outof oregon state, 6 to 216 pounds
guy.
I mean we talk about safetieswith good size.
I mean we're talking about aguy with some long arms and some
decent speed to him there.
But we're talking about a guywho you can line them up on
tight ends.
You're going to be able to linethis guy up on tight ends and

(36:03):
be able to get away with it.
You're going to be able to do alot of things with Oladapo that
you look at these otherlinebackers, like Bullard and
like we talked about there withEvan Williams, this is a guy in
Oladapo with.
He's got the ability to be ahigh I mean a high-grade safety
for you there.
Now will he be an all-pro?

(36:23):
Maybe not, but I think this isa guy who can be.
He's going to be a force to bereckoned with in that secondary
for green bay.
He gets into the backfield.
He makes some high level plays.
I believe he had one againstcaleb williams where he came off
that left side on a blitz thereand ran down caleb williams in
the backfield and he's got acouple of forced fumbles.

(36:46):
I mean this guy is all around agreat, great defender and he is
a.
I mean you know, you look at,like I said before, with a lot
of these players that Green Bayhas gotten in this draft here or
that they got in this drafthere and all aggressive, all
great tackling players andsomething that green bay is

(37:08):
going to need here movingforward in heffley's defense.
So this is just another pieceof the puzzle.
Right, this is another piece tothe puzzle.
That I believe green bay reallyneeded was another aggressive
safety, another aggressivesecondary guy to bring into this
team, and that's what they gothere with uh, oladapo there.

(37:28):
I mean, looking at him, he likeI'm watching this highlight
tape here and I I mean I'm juston the espn.
They just show some of thebetter highlights that they had
there on their draft profiles.
But you watch this guy andafter he gets him the backfield
you know he's covering thisrunning back here, blows up the
play in the backfield there.
He's on the tight, tight end, undercuts Terrell for a pick

(37:49):
there.
He had that sack against CalebWilliams, like I was talking
about.
This is a solid add by GreenBay and it might have been a
steal of a pick there in thefifth round, ninth ranked
overall safety in the entiredraft.
This is a solid pickup by theGreen Bay Packers there and that
moves us off into the sixthround, where the Packers did get

(38:10):
the offensive tackle out ofGeorgia State.
We saw this guy.
If you watch the Badgers there, the Badgers did get to see
Georgia State.
So we saw this guy a little bitthere.
6'6", 323 pounds, that is a bigman.
That is a big man coming at youthere out of Georgia State,

(38:32):
played a little bit of lefttackle, right tackle and left
guard.
He's a versatile guy and he's agood run blocker there and he
can play with an edge.
I mean this is a guy who's gotsome long arms and he's quick in
getting into pass protection,so he's an all-around great run
block and pass blocking tackle, can play a little bit of guard.

(38:54):
Versatility that's what we kepthearing from Gutekens is he
wants some versatility out ofhis offensive linemen and that's
what he's getting in.
Another one there in TravisGlover there, coming out of
Georgia State.
So that leads us into theseventh round.
This is where I mean we weregoing to figure out who Mr
Irrelevant is there Jalen Keyout of Alabama.

(39:15):
Jalen Key ended up being MrIrrelevant safety out of Alabama
.
That could be a solid pick.
I mean he went to Alabama sohe's got something behind him.
But Green Bay in the 245th pickof the draft they got Michael
Pratt out of Tulane.
There Number eight rankedquarterback.
That tells you how.
I mean it was top heavy in theposition rank for quarterbacks

(39:37):
but then it dropped off heavy.
You're talking about a guy,michael Pratt.
He was the eighth position rankbut I mean you look at his
grade there 55 overall.
Four-year starter there atTulane and he progressed over
his career there.
He has the ability to find theopen man.
He's got a good idea of readingdefenses and fitting the ball

(39:59):
into tight windows there.
So Michael Pratt is a solid add.
I mean you have Sean Cliffordalready.
We know about Jordan Love, soyou're just adding a little bit
more depth there in thequarterback room could be a
solid ad for green bay, justlike I said, to have some depth
there all the way around.
And then, last but not least, they got the cornerback out of
uh, penn state there, kaylinking.

(40:20):
They're a little bit smaller, 5, 11, 191 pounds, but he's a
press corner and he's tough,he's physical, he's going to get
against some big wide receiversout there and he's going to be
tough on him.
He had 16 pass breakups overthe past two seasons and I mean
he's a guy who's going to get onyou, he's going to get under

(40:40):
routes, he's going to try topluck that ball out of the air
there and make some competitivecatches out there.
So Packers wrap up the draftthere with that 255th pick of
Kalen King there.
So that's a wrap up of theGreen Bay Packers 2024 NFL draft
.
I'm hoping to get mycounterparts on here, austin and

(41:02):
Rogan here, pretty soon toreally recap this draft here and
see what we thought there.
I mean, you can hear it I wasrecently on a show Brutally On A
Sports there, brutally On ASports podcast, and we talked
about the NFL draft there in awhole and what we thought of the
whole thing.
Not a super lot, not a crazyamount of craziness in this

(41:23):
draft.
Crazy amount of craziness inthis draft.
I guess the only weird one Iwould say was the Michael Pennix
to the Falcons.
That was a weird one, butoutside of that, not a whole lot
crazy happening in this lastdraft year.
So that wraps up the NFL draftrecap there.

(41:44):
I hope it was a good one.
I mean I was just readingthrough some of the bios and
everything like that, learningabout these guys, watching some
of the highlight tapes, and Ihope I did a good job for you
guys there, kind of recappingthat NFL draft there.
But with that I mean last butnot least for the day here we

(42:05):
got to talk about the Bucs realfast here.
The Bucs do have the pacerscoming up here game five of this
eastern conference openinground series and well, the bucks
are in trouble.
The bucks are in trouble and Idon't know if they're going to
be able to figure this one out.
Uh, you're possibly.
We're talking about no dame.

(42:30):
No, yannis middleton is, I mean, as far as I can tell, banged
up and you're heading into thisgame five of the series back at
home.
Even if you win, you head intogame six with still question
marks on those two guys and youknow you bring them back in this
series.
Yet they're not 100%.
They re-injured something.

(42:50):
Now you could potentially losethem for next season.
Where does that leave you?
So I mean there's lots of good, bad and ugly that is still left
to happen with this Bucs team.
I'm hoping it goes six.
I'm hoping they can forceanother game here, but it
doesn't happen.
Often you come back from the3-1 deficit.

(43:10):
So hopefully some good to comeout of the bucks tonight here.
Hopefully the brewers don't getscrewed over by the umpires once
again and hopefully we getanother apology from the mlb.
I hope so.
I hope so we can pin it to thewall, we can put it on the
fridge, we can put it on thefridge at american family Field
Another apology letter from theMLB.
We can say thank you, thank you.
We'll put it next to the otherone from yesterday.

(43:32):
So fantastic stuff there.
Great show today, talking aboutthe Packers draft and the
Brewers and everything else inbetween.
Great day, great day.
I hope you guys enjoy the restof your Tuesday.
But until I talk to you guystomorrow here, hopefully talking
about a Bucks and Brewers win.
This has been Wisconsin Sportson the Go with Trades.
Thank you guys for listening, but until I talk to you guys

(43:57):
again tomorrow.
Deuces yeah, oh, my Lord, watchme sway.
Darkness falls and we all pray, hoping for the light of day

(44:22):
Down to the river.
I have held the devil's hand, felt the weight of my own sin,
burdened by the heart of man, down to the river.
Down to the river oh bury me,carry me, oh far beneath.

(44:45):
Oh fire and water, oh fire inone of me Going down deep Saying
oh bury me, carry me, oh firebeneath.
