Grace calls us by name, especially after our greatest failures. This transformative truth emerges powerfully from Mark's Gospel as we examine the resurrection story where an angel delivers a message with two words that changed everything: "including Peter."

The significance of this moment can't be overstated. Peter, who appears first among the disciples when called by Jesus at the beginning of Mark's Gospel, is specifically mentioned again at the end—but with a crucial difference. Between these two mentions, Peter had monumentally failed, denying his relationship with Jesus three times with increasing intensity. It wasn't a minor slip-up but a catastrophic betrayal that should have disqualified him forever.

Yet in the resurrection message, Jesus deliberately singles out Peter by name. This wasn't just a general invitation back to relationship but a personalized call of restoration to the one disciple who might have believed he had forfeited his place. The message reverberates through time: no failure is final, no mistake too great, no betrayal beyond the reach of grace. When we place our own names in that resurrection instruction—"tell the disciples, including [your name]"—we discover the personal nature of Christ's forgiveness that transcends our worst moments. Today is Day 111.

(00:25):
Tell Peter From the Gospel ofMark, chapter 16, verses 6 and 7
.
From the New Living Translation.
But the angel said Don't bealarmed.
You are looking for Jesus ofNazareth who was crucified.
He isn't here.
He is risen from the dead.
Look, this is where they laidhis body.

(00:46):
Now go and tell his disciples,including Peter, that Jesus is
going ahead of you to Galilee.
You will see him there, just ashe told you before he died.
Peter got singled out.
Peter was the first discipleMark mentions by name, and here
at the end, peter is the lastdisciple mentioned again.

(01:07):
But between these two points inthe story, peter had completely
failed.
He didn't just slip up.
He publicly and fiercely deniedeven knowing Jesus, not once,
but three times.
Have you ever been there?
Have you ever made a mistake sobig or messed up so badly that
you thought there was no wayback?

Maybe you thought God was so.
Done with you too.
But look at the incredible gracein these two simple words that
the angel said, including Peter,as if Jesus is saying make sure
Peter knows this message isespecially for him.
This is a shout out filled withforgiveness and restoration and

hope.
Now put your own name there.
Jesus' message is just aspersonal for you as it was for
Peter.
You aren't beyond grace.
Your mistakes aren't biggerthan his forgiveness.
The risen Savior calls yourname, inviting you back,
restoring you fully.

Today, I want you to rememberthat Jesus knows your name.
He sees your story and he callsyou by name into a restored
relationship with him.
Pray with me, lord Jesus.
Thank you for personallycalling my name, even after my
worst failures.
Help me believe fully in yourforgiveness and your restoration

and your love.
