Our spiritual identity undergoes a complete transformation when we embrace Christ—yet so many of us continue living as though we're still bound by our old sinful nature. Romans 6:1-7 cuts straight to this disconnect, challenging us to recognize the revolutionary power of our baptism with Jesus.

Think about how illness makes us suddenly aware of our bodies—every ache reminds us what health feels like. Sin functions similarly in our spiritual lives, highlighting brokenness while making us crave healing. But here's where the comparison ends: while physical healing takes time, spiritual renewal through Christ is immediate and complete. When Jesus died and rose again, He didn't just offer us a future promise—He delivered present freedom.

The radical truth Paul presents is that we don't need to wait for deliverance someday. We've already "died to sin" through our identification with Christ's death, and we've already been "raised to life" through His resurrection. This isn't metaphorical language—it's describing a fundamental reality shift in who we are. The power of sin has been broken, and we can walk in newness of life today.

How will you live differently knowing you're already free? Will you continue returning to old patterns as though they still define you, or will you embrace the transformed identity Christ has already secured? Join us as we unpack this life-changing truth and discover what it means to live as people who are truly alive in Christ. Subscribe now and share this message with someone who needs to hear they're no longer bound by their past.

Jesus in baptism, we joined himin his death, for we died and

raised from the dead by theglorious power of the Father,
now we also may live new lives.
Since we have been united withhim in his death, we will also
be raised to life, as he was.
We know that our old, sinfulselves were crucified with

Sickness has this way ofpointing out what's not working
and it makes us crave healing.
Sin does kind of the same thingto our hearts.
It shows up in our thoughts, words and actions and it reminds
us that something just isn'tright.
But here's the good news InJesus, we don't have to stay
stuck in that sickness.
We're not just waiting aroundfor healing someday.
