Episode Description:
In this episode, we explore the powerful connection between inner peace and self-honesty. I’ll share why choosing yourself — even when it feels harsh to others — is the ultimate act of self-love. We’ll talk about the importance of boundaries, how to stay grounded in your truth, and practical ways to hear your own inner voice. From moments of solitude and mindful journaling to walking barefoot in the grass and embracing prayer, you’ll learn how to quiet the outside noise and reconnect with the part of you that always knows the way. By the end of this episode, you’ll be ready to honor your boundaries, trust your spirit, and protect your peace at all costs.
Learning to Hear Your Own Voice
Before you can follow your inner voice, you must first find it. That means creating space for stillness and solitude so you can truly hear yourself.
Here are some ways to connect with that quiet wisdom inside you:
1. Sit in Solitude – Find a quiet place with no phone, no TV, no music, no distractions. Let yourself simply be.
2. Meditate or Breathe Deeply – Even 5–10 minutes of mindful breathing can clear the mental noise so you can hear your thoughts clearly.
3. Spend Time in Nature – Take a slow walk under the sun. Feel the grass under your bare feet. Lean against a tree or wrap your arms around it, letting its grounded energy remind you that you, too, are rooted.
4. Talk to Yourself – You’re not crazy for talking to yourself — it’s how you learn your own thought patterns, process your emotions, and think things through.
5. Journal Freely – Write without judgment. Let your thoughts flow onto paper like a conversation with your soul.
6. Face Your Fears – If fear is keeping you from experiencing something that could heal you — like walking barefoot outside or being still in the dark — gently challenge yourself to try. Growth is often on the other side of discomfort.
7. Pray – Begin with prayer and end with prayer. Speak openly and honestly with God. Ask for clarity, strength, and understanding, and be willing to listen for the quiet answers.
The more you practice being alone with yourself, the more natural it will feel. What was once uncomfortable will become comforting. Over time, your inner voice will grow louder and more confident — and you will know exactly when to trust it.

Ruthie's Table 4
For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
