Search engine optimization is an important part in every

marketing strategy.


After all, a well-optimized page can generate tons of

highly-targeted traffic to your website, and guide

prospects into your sales funnel.


In addition, today, search algorithms are increasingly

prioritizing pages that include videos.


Not only will videos help you rank for relevant

searches, but they will keep people on your website

longer, which will boost your chances of making it

When it comes to improving SEO with videos, the

key is to embed your content on a page that includes

text-based content as well.


Just make sure that the rest of the content on the

page is relevant to your video and based on the same

theme and topic.


You also don't want to forget to optimize your videos

in other ways as well, including:


* Create eye-catching thumbnails


Your thumbnails need to be attractive so they

stand out to your audience, but they should also

be informative.


This means you'll want to include the title of your

video and then ensure the image itself correctly

represents your topic.


* Use Tags


You'll want to include keywords in your title tags

that are relevant. Don't keyword stuff or use

keywords that don't relate to your content. If you do,

Google will penalize you.


* Contextual Video Description


Your video descriptions should be relatively short,

highly focused, and include keywords.


Google bots scan your video description so you'll want

to make sure to accurately describe what your content

is about and use only highly relevant keywords.


* Include a Video Transcript


This is one of the best ways to optimize your video

for search. Transcripts comprise of the text that appears

in your video’s closed captions.


They may also appear in the comments below the video.


And just like Google crawls other text associated to

your videos, they also crawl the transcript for SEO

ranking.


Plus, video transcripts make your videos more accessible

to a larger audience
