(00:00):
Hey, hey, Yinning at Life Gang. It's Kimberly Roberts, your host
here, and I'm so excited to deliver little bits of insight
on living your best, most extraordinary life with, of
course, yin yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, reflexology,

(00:21):
and even mindset acts. So thank you so much for
pressing play on today's episode.
Let's do this. Hello there, friend.
Welcome back to the Yinning at Life podcast.

(00:43):
Today I want to talk about something that is so simple, so
undervalued, yet so potent and so powerful.
Your breath. Yeah, we're going to talk about
breathing and how your breath can actually help you expand

(01:05):
into abundance. Might sound a little crazy or a
little woo woo for you, but you know what?
Stick with me. Listen in.
And you know what? We're even going to do a little
practice together. So grab your favorite bevy, get
onto the couch, grab a blanket, get super comfortable and let's

(01:27):
start talking about this, shall we?
So of course, you know, we all breathe every single day and we
don't think about it much, right?
Like unless we're in a yen practice or, you know, maybe
we're exercising or we're, you know, like maybe we've had a
cold and so our breath is restricted.

(01:47):
Then we think about it. But honestly, the truth is the
way we breathe can actually expand us into abundance, into
an abundant way of living and being, but also attracting
abundance of all kinds. Yeah, just by breathing
differently, you can open yourself up to receive more with

(02:09):
ease. So I want to bring a little
personal context into this because I believe that if I just
give you information without anykind of integration, it's just a
whole whack of noise and you're not going to get it.
So I'm sure you've heard me talkabout and you've even
experienced yourself how yin yoga helps you to feel grounded

(02:34):
and open, right? Like it certainly does for me
when I do a yin practice. It doesn't matter what poses I
do, I always feel grounded, open, relaxed, at peace.
But the reality is the exact same thing happens with breath
work. Yeah.

(02:57):
So I'll be in a be in practice and maybe I've had like a super
busy day. My mind is spinning a lot like I
tend to, you know, have a very analytical, analytical, logical
brain. So I can hold a lot of that
heavy pressure and tension in myhead.
And of course, you know, that isconnected to our bodies, so you

(03:19):
feel it in your body too. But then as I start to breathe
deeper, slower, and more intentionally, all of a sudden
it's like my whole body softens and my mind quiets.
I don't feel like I'm spiraling down the rabbit hole.

(03:41):
And I feel this sense of peace and possibility, like space just
opened up inside of me. And then this was the light bulb
moment for me. That's when I realized, oh, this
is the place from where abundance flows.

(04:01):
Abundance doesn't flow from restriction, contraction,
resistance. Abundance flows from ease, from
groundedness, from calming. That's a receiving energy.
When we're expanded, when we're breathing deeply, we are in an

(04:27):
energy to receive. And that's when abundance starts
to flow. So let's get a little sciency
about it and let's talk about this.
And how does your breath work actually help you attracting
abundance? And then we're going to do a
little practice together so thatyou can really kind of land this

(04:47):
in your own body and experience it for yourself.
So why is it that when we breathe deeply, we're more open
to abundance? So how does this actually
happen? Well, think about it.
When you're stressed out, your breath is very shallow, right?
Like I know I am. When I'm stressed, I can barely

(05:08):
even notice that I'm breathing, and I know it's all coming from
my chest. There's no diaphragmatic
breathing happening at all. So my body thinks I'm in
survival mode. And if I'm in survival mode,
right? Flight or fright.
Remember caveman days? Then we're not open to new
ideas, opportunities, expansion,abundance, right?

(05:33):
We can't be. We're in survival mode.
But the moment you start to consciously breathe deeply, like
you're really filling up your lungs and then letting it all
go, that's the key, letting it all go.
You're sending your body this signal.

(05:55):
It's safe, I'm OK. And from there, the magic
happens. Things start to shift.
Your nervous system calms down. You let go of tension, you let
go of all the stories, the spiraling, all of that gripping.

(06:18):
And what are you left with afterthat?
Spaciousness, openness, presence.
That's where the energy of abundance lives.
It doesn't live in the forcing. It doesn't live in the chasing.
It doesn't live in the controlling.

(06:38):
It only lives in an expanded, peaceful space inside of you.
So who wants to actually try this right now, just for a
moment? OK, we're going to do a little
breath work now. If you're not driving, you can
do this. If you are, then please come
back to this portion of the podcast and join in then.

(07:00):
OK, So come to a comfortable seated position.
Somewhere where you can sit up really tall, where it feels
effortless yet you feel supported.
Your shoulders can drop down away from your ears. close your
eyes down now. Don't change your breath, just

(07:27):
notice it in this moment. Just notice your breath.
Notice where you feel it. Notice the depth, the length.
Notice where it gets stuck, where it feels maybe a little
bit sticky or resistant. And don't judge, just notice.

(07:54):
Now start to take a deep breath in through your nose, fill up
your body, feel it expand, then start to bring the breath up
into your ribs. Feel your ribs expand out,
almost like you're playing an accordion through your rib cage,

(08:15):
and then feel your chest begin to inflate and expand and fill
up and hold that for just a moment.
Hold that breath in that beat, and then slowly exhale through
an open mouth just like this. Let's do that two more times.

(08:51):
Inhale, fill yourself all the way up, not forcing it, just
slowly drawing the breath up. Hold it for just a second.
Exhale out your mouth. Let it all go, and one more

(09:14):
time, slow, deep breath in. Fill the belly, fill the rib
cage, fill the chest. Hold it for a beat and through
an open mouth, exhale like you're sending out all that

(09:35):
heavy energy, that heavy resistance.
Now let your breath come back toan unmeasured state.
Just let it flow naturally in and out through your nose and
notice. How do you feel?

(09:57):
I mean, that was only three breaths.
But notice, how does your physical body feel?
How does your mind feel? Even just those 3 breaths can

(10:18):
shift your energy completely. Like how wild is that?
And how so cool is that? And you know what?
We all have this available within us, everyone.

(10:39):
It's just about creating conscious awareness of your
breath. So the next time that you're
feeling stuck or maybe you're worrying about your health or
your job or money or a loved one, or you're just in that I

(11:03):
don't have enough space that youknow that energy, right?
Like it's just, I'm not enough. I don't have enough.
Just pause, come back to your breath, maybe even come back to
this portion in the podcast and do that simple breathing
exercise. And I will tell you that the

(11:24):
exhale through the mouth, for meanyway, it's always so powerful,
especially when I feel really contracted and heavy, like
there's a literally like a weight on my chest, right?
And maybe I even got a little bit of like nervous anxiety in
my body. And I just find that the exhale

(11:46):
through the mouth is almost likeit's purifying.
It's clearing out, right? It feels like it's creating
space for something new. And the reality is because every
single inhale expands you, everysingle exhale creates that space

(12:08):
for something new. That's the energy of abundance.
Remember, abundance only vibes, is only attracted to the energy
of expansion, of light, of spaciousness, of feeling
grounded, calm, relaxed. When you're resistant, when

(12:36):
you're controlling, when you're forcing, when you're gripping,
when you're grasping, you're notin an abundant state.
The universe only matches your frequency, so if you want to
attract abundance, start to breathe in an abundant way.

(13:04):
Doesn't that make so much sense to you?
I hope it makes sense to you. If it does, leave a comment here
in the podcast episode and just let me know.
Like I will tell you I've been playing with my breath a lot
lately. I've been doing different ratios
like, you know, inhaling throughthe nose for four counts and
exhaling for six and then like inhaling for seven and exhaling

(13:28):
for 11. And I will tell you, I've been
incorporating it more and more into my own yin yoga practice
and it is so much more powerful for me anyway, when I exhale
through an open mouth now, if I'm already kind of feeling in a
calm, kind of chill vibe, then Imight not necessarily exhale

(13:52):
through the mouth. I might exhale through the nose
because I don't feel that heavy contracted energy in my body.
When I exhale through the mouth,it's like I'm sending out that
contraction out of me, right? And that's making the space for
abundance. So if this is like sparking

(14:16):
something in you, you're like, oh, like I want to practice way
more like this. I want ways to be able to move,
to breathe and to soften into that grounded, abundant version,
the one that attracts easily andeffortlessly.
Who trusts? Then come and join me inside the

(14:38):
Soulful Yin app. It is full of yin yoga
practices, breath work, meditation, I've even got
acupressure and reflexology practices in there to help you
come back home to yourself. So I'll pop that link in the
show notes for you. And remember, you're only a few

(15:02):
breaths away from abundant. And you know what?
Abundance is your natural birthright.
You are worthy of abundance, andnothing about you has to change
that. So take the time every day to

(15:30):
breathe into abundance so that you are living the most
extraordinary life for yourself in a flexible body, in a calm
mind, and certainly in an abundant vibe.

(15:51):
