Work with me: https://tidycal.com/eringray/45-min-call-with-erin

You can have the thriving business, the healthy bank account, and all the financial boxes checked and still feel like it’s never enough. That empty, restless feeling isn’t about money at all. It’s about the words we use to speak to ourselves and about ourselves.

Language carries energy. The way we talk about money can either keep us in fear or open us to trust, love, and sufficiency. In this episode, we’ll explore how small shifts in words can create big shifts in energy. Because true wealth isn’t just about what’s in your bank account, it's also how you feel in your body.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

  • Why the words you use about money matter
  • How to notice the subtle scarcity language you may not realize you’re repeating
  • Gentle ways to move from fear-based words to empowering ones that feel true
  • Why sufficiency is sometimes the bridge to genuine abundance
  • How language can reconnect you to safety, trust, and possibility with money

Erin Gray (00:00):
You can have a thriving business and make a lot
of money in your job, you canhave plenty of investments,
different sources of income, healthy bank balances and still
feel like it's never enough.
These are the types of clientsthat I actually support, and
this was actually, and has been,my journey over the last I want

(00:20):
to say all of my life, butreally over the last probably
six years, and so today what Iwant to do is discuss how the
words that you use and how youspeak about your money and
basically your life everythingin your life is actually
reinforcing that scarcity, andhow shifting your language can
help you finally experience thesafety and the freedom that you

(00:43):
have been desiring.
Finally experience the safetyand the freedom that you have
been desiring.
I also wanted to ask you that,if you have been receiving value
from this podcast, I would loveit if you would leave a
five-star review.
It helps the show grow and getfound by other people just like
you who are working throughtheir own money stories, their
money beliefs, their moneymindset, so that they can feel

(01:06):
more abundant and financiallyfree.
To me, financial freedom is nota number, because I had the
number and I did not feelfinancially free.
So what I'm really wanting toinspire, guide, help each of you
is to know that that freedom isan internal thing.
Obviously, we want to havemoney in the 3d world, right,

(01:28):
like, yeah, it's fun to havemoney, but it doesn't matter if
you have money and you don'tfeel free.
So, really helping you createthat sense of internal freedom
first, and then allowing it tobubble up and out of you, um, so
that you can have it in the 3dworld.
You know, my mission really isto change the way that we think
about money and so that you canhave it in the 3D world.
My mission really is to changethe way that we think about
money and so that we can trulyenjoy our life and that the more

(01:51):
that the show grows, then themore that I'm able to do that.
So I would love it if you wouldjust pause the show right now,
leave a review and then comeback and listen to today's
episode.
Okay, so let's talk about, firstand foremost, the energetic,
like the power, the energybehind our words.
You know language is soimportant.
When I was little, my mom usedto tell me it's not what you're

(02:12):
saying, erin, it's the.
I think she would even say theenergy behind what you say,
which we weren't.
I wouldn't consider us a veryconscious family because she
would always use words likeyou're so harsh.
But I know now that my energythat I was coming from was one
of very much frustration andanger, and so it would come off.
So I can still say, and I canbe very blunt and very

(02:33):
straightforward, but it can comefrom an energy of love now
versus an energy of frustrationand anger.
So so often we use language todescribe our current
circumstances.
You know, we've been taughtthat.
You know what's happeningoutside of us, like in the 3D,
the observed world, right, theworld that you see with your

(02:55):
five senses, and then we takethat information and then we
make stories from it or we havethoughts about it, and we don't
even realize that we arecreating more of the same when
we do this.
You know our words.
They carry a vibration.
I love to use the word that I'mso potent because I believe I
am.

(03:16):
I know I talk a lot on thepodcast, but if you meet me in
person I'm kind of the one thatkind of hangs back.
I don't really talk a lot.
I like more one-on-oneconversations and if I'm in a
crowd or a group of people, I'mdefinitely the one that's
observing everybody, kind oflistening to what everyone's
saying, and then only reallytalking when someone asks me a

(03:37):
question or asks for feedback, because I really truly feel like
I don't need to talk all thetime.
Like my words are very potent.
Things that I say activatepeople and make them think
differently, and so I want youto think the same about your
words as well.
Like our words are very potent.
They carry a vibration.
It's very important the wordsthat we speak.

(03:59):
Like let's choose our wordsvery carefully.
I go to energy work probablyonce every two to three weeks.
Sometimes we'll do juststraight up energy work.
Sometimes we'll do energy workand a massage.
Sometimes it's just a massage.
But one of the things that shetold me one time she was like
Erin, you were very specificwith your words.

(04:19):
Like there will be times orlike that she's asking me a
question and it will take me aminute or two to respond because
I want to choose the word, notfrom a like I'm messing up and
choosing the wrong word, but II'm very intentional with my
words now, and this is somethingthat I want you to pay
attention to and to start doingso, because our words carry a

(04:42):
vibration, right, and thatvibration it operates on a
frequency.
If you think about vibration, vibration is just movement of
particles, right, but thefrequency is how fast or how
slow those particles move.
And so when you think about, you know, using words, are you
moving?
Like I said earlier, are youmoving from the energy of love,

(05:03):
of abundance, of joy, ofempowerment, you know?
Are you stating empoweringlanguage when you talk about
yourself, or are you operatingfrom more of a low and slow
frequency, from the energy oflack or guilt or shame, or from
disempowerment?
The law of vibration is allabout attracting what we are

(05:25):
like, our state of being, how wevibrate on a constant basis,
not what we want.
So I know manifestation hasbeen like pretty big recently,
over the last several years, andpeople think that you can just
think positive thoughts and itwill come to you.
But if your state of being, ifyou vibrate on a lower frequency

(05:48):
, that is the, that is thefrequency that you are going to
attract.
So there is this really neatdocumentary with and I might be
mispronouncing his name MasaruEmoto, who was a Japanese
scientist, and he was in thedocumentary called what the
Bleep Do I Know?
And basically he shows howlanguage has an effect on water

(06:10):
and since we are made up of what70% water, he just goes in and
he shows how our languageaffects water, how music affects
water.
It's, it's a very insightfuland thought provoking makes you
really start to think umdocumentary.
So I'll we'll put in the shownotes just the the clip of where

(06:34):
he talks about our thoughts andwater, if you want to look at
that, and I think it's likearound minute three, 28, three,
30, something like that, wherehe goes into um thoughts and
water.
So I'll put that clip in theshow notes If you're just
curious and you're just learninghow vibration actually affects
um ourselves, molecular, ourbiology.

(06:55):
So so we always have to startwith awareness, right?
What are we speaking intoexistence without even knowing
it?
What phrases are we saying?
Because we are taking feedbackfrom our 3D world, right, our
observed world, with our fivesenses, and we are having a
thought or a story or a beliefabout it, versus being

(07:16):
intentional with our thoughts, with our mind, and choosing from
our imagination what I call the5D and creating from our
imagination what I call the 5Dand creating from there.
So I want to talk about what Iconsider like low vibration
language and high vibrationlanguage, because we
unconsciously repeatdisempowering phrases and that

(07:39):
creates a feeling in the body.
So those feelings are going toemit a vibration and when we are
repetitive with this right, itcreates our state of being.
Like one of the things that I'mtrying to teach my kid is like
why there are songs.
I mean, every song has a course, right.
Why are there courses multipletimes in the song?
It's for it to get into thesubconscious mind.

(08:00):
Now, some songs are highvibrational, some are low
vibrational, right, and so it'slike you want to be very, very
mindful of what you are puttinginto your brain.
My, my kid totally thinks that, you know, I think she gets it,
but she likes to razz me and saythat I'm crazy, but she's on
board with it.

(08:23):
So what I'm going to do is I'mgoing to give you some phrases
that I've heard some of myclients use, or phrases that I
have said in the past, and thenI'm going to give you a phrase
after that that is more of ahigher vibration, more
empowering.
You know, that can emit thosefeelings of empowerment, so that
you can see the difference, andI want to say that these are
not like this is the only phrase, right, like I always am

(08:43):
encouraging clients to tap backinto their body what feels true
to them, like.
Sometimes I'll offer up aphrase to a client.
I'm like how do you feel?
How does that feel?
And they'll say that doesn'tfeel true in the body.
I'm like, okay, then we have tokeep working until there is a
phrase or there is words thatyou can believe right now.
So some.
So I'm just going to riff onthis and then, um, give the the

(09:06):
alternate option and then playwith what feels good to you and
take what resonates, leave therest.
So one of the thoughts, beliefsthat I used to have was that we
don't have enough saved, whichis very much so lack and
scarcity driven, and what Ichanged it to was I am so proud
of myself for the creating theamount of money that we do have,
and more is on its way.

(09:27):
Another one is I'm strugglingwith my money mindset and it
feels it might feel true in thebody.
Right, like, yeah, but I am,I'm, but you have to look at
everything that is in yourcurrent 3D world right now, what
you are looking at using yourfive senses.
That is all the past, meaningthat your thoughts, your beliefs
, your actions that you tookyesterday, a month ago, six

(09:49):
months ago, whatever it is, thatis what created today, right
now.
So if we want somethingdifferent, we have to think
differently, we have to besomeone different now.
So if we want somethingdifferent, we have to think
differently, we have to besomeone different.
We have to take differentaction.
We have to feel differently.
So one of the ones, like I said,I'm struggling with my money
mindset.
You could choose to say I'mworking through my money mindset
.
Or you could say something likeI'm just changing my money

(10:11):
mindset.
I'm not great with money.
Flip that to say something likeI'm learning how to be with my
money.
I should have more by now.
That was me too.
Um, you can just even like Ihad to get neutral with some of
this language.
So if going to abundance likeI'm so abundant was not what my
body believed, so I had to getto sufficiency, so it was too

(10:32):
far of a nervous system jump forme.
So what I had to do was, um,instead of saying I should have
more money by now, like I havethe amount of money that I need
right now, today.
That was for me.
That was sufficiency.
Um, uh, also to like easy.
We have a lot of thoughtsaround easy, or we have to work
hard for money or just life ingeneral as a struggle.

(10:53):
So it's not going to be easy todo X, y, z.
You could say something likeI'm getting more comfortable
with my life being one of easeinstead of hustle and struggle,
and then I'll give you a couplemore and then you can play with
them.
So I keep making these mistakesand and I don't even like to use
the word mistakes, I like touse the word choices and then I

(11:16):
I am learning from my choices.
So you could say I have madethese choices and I have learned
so much.
It has taught me so much versusmistakes, because mistakes
you've got to check in with you.
But like, what does that feellike in the body?
Does that feel contracting?
And that's where you know ifit's lower vibration or not.
Right, like, does that feelcontracting to you or does that

(11:36):
feel expansive?
So one more you could say uh,instead of saying like I feel
guilty that I'm spending thismuch on whatever it is that
you're buying, you could say Ihave decided to spend on this,
because I am teaching my bodythat I am worthy of having what
I want.
So I always want to celebrateyou, celebrate how far you come,

(11:59):
celebrate the awarenesses thatyou are having, like just
celebrate all of this, like younoticing and you being aware of
your language.
That is where change actuallyhappens, like we cannot change
what we are not aware of.
So let's talk about actuallynow that you're aware of the
language that you use, and beingso mindful, like a watchdog, is

(12:20):
what I want to think about.
Right, like we've got to be soaware, not to the point where
you're like driving yourselfcrazy and you're like constantly
checking your language, right, but like just being more aware
of the language that you use, slowing down, paying attention
before.
And what will happen, dependingon your level of awareness?
It will happen at first, afterthe fact, like you'll say
something and then you'll belike oh, I see what I just said

(12:41):
there.
And then it'll happen like inthe middle, right, like before,
um, as you're describingsomething you might, you might
catch yourself, and then whatwill happen is your awareness
will go to before, right, sobefore I, like in my brain, I
might hear the thought, butbefore I speak it, I will notice
what, what um came through, andthen I will choose more

(13:04):
empowering language, so speakingyour reality into existence.
I love Neville Goddard.
I don't know why.
I mean I think it's probablyjust because of my level of
awareness at the time back then.
But it hasn't been until mostmore recently that I've really
gotten into Neville Goddard ofawareness.

(13:31):
It's a short read, it's verypotent and it's one that you
want to read and reread severaltimes.
But in the book, neville saysthat everything has already been
created, everything that everwas and ever will be.
It is done.
You know, I'm not a religiousperson.
I don't have, didn't reallycome from a religious background
, um, but that is what the Biblesays too.
Right Like.
So if that is true let's justassume that's true Then all we

(13:57):
have to do is what he callsmanifest it, which means bring
it from our imagination into the3D observed world.
And we do that by our feelings, our state of being and our
identity, which is ultimatelyour state of vibration, so who
we believe ourselves to be, theactions that we take.
That is going to create what wewant or what we don't want, and
our language comes from ouridentity.

(14:17):
So if you call yourself or youspeak about yourself like bad
with money, that is coming fromsomeone who has the identity
that isn't good with money, likethere's ultimately a belief
there that I'm not good withmoney and maybe that's not the
belief, but there's some threadalong that line of not good with
money.
So I want to encourage you toreally take some time to journal

(14:37):
, to go inward and think aboutwho are you Like, who am I?
What do you believe to be trueabout yourself?
And I think in the beginning,at first, you really just need
to rattle off everything that isunfiltered.
And I think in the beginning,at first, you really just need
to rattle off everything that isunfiltered, just let it go and
notice what your, what yoursubconscious, actually gives you
.
So ask yourself, like is thisactually empowering Once you get

(15:00):
it on paper?
Is this empowering?
Does this actually help meachieve my goals and where I'm
going?
Or is this a disempoweringstory or belief that I'm
carrying?
And if that is true, then whatdo you actually want to be
thinking?
So, when you are constantlyrepeating that you're bad with
money, your subconscious, like Isaid, is going to look for

(15:22):
evidence to prove that it's true, I talked about this, the, the
RAS, which is reticularactivating system.
I also talked aboutconfirmation bias in a previous
episode.
So you can go back to episode137 and you can listen to that
and the whole explanation ofthat.
I kind of went in depth there.
But we've been taught to believethat money brings freedom.

(15:42):
Right, we think money equals X,y, z.
Money brings freedom, moneybrings peace, money brings calm.
Well, we know that that's nottrue, because either you feel
that way or, um, you can, youknow someone that experiences
that.
So it wasn't until I shifted myidentity, until I changed my
language, until I saw the powerof my words, my thoughts, my

(16:04):
emotions and what it actuallycreates in my life for me to
start shifting that right.
Like I was on autopilot.
I think a lot of us are right.
Like we I just was texting afriend We've been conditioned to
live in these certain paradigmsand we don't have to right,
like when we wake up, when webecome more aware.
We just can start shifting this.

(16:25):
So celebrate that you're here, celebrate that you want
different, celebrate that you'reaware that you have had
patterns and how you talk toyourself and that you're willing
to shift it.
I just want to say I'm just soproud of you If you're here, if
you're listening.
You are making steps.
You are taking steps to changeyour life, to change your

(16:46):
relationship with money, and Ijust want to just say how proud
I am of you because this iscourageous work.
