Laura Nicole (00:02):
Welcome to your
Virtual Assistant Coach, the
podcast for moms who want tomake money from home on their
own terms.
I'm your host, Laura Nicole, asuccessful six-figure earning VA
and coach, who replaced mycollege professor salary in just
five months back in 2020, aftermy daughter was born, and I
have never looked back.
I'm here to help you build aprofitable, flexible VA business
(00:24):
that fits into your family'slives, so you no longer feel
like you're living just to work.
Let's dive in.
If you are currently working onbecoming a virtual assistant and
you are spending more time ontrying to come up with a super
cute, clever business name thanyou are actually building the
foundation of your business, then this episode is for you,
(00:47):
because we are going to talkabout what you really need to
get started and spoiler, it isway less than you probably think
.
So first of all, I want totouch on some things that I know
you probably think that youneed in order to get started as
a virtual assistant and signclients.
There is a really good chancethat you think you need to have
(01:08):
a full-blown, beautiful,seo-optimized website with brand
colors and a super cute logoand a full-on brand aesthetic,
because you need the brandaesthetic for your full business
social media, because youobviously need to have a full on
social media strategy to getvisibility right.
(01:29):
You probably have alsoconvinced yourself that in order
to be legit, you have to havean LLC and you have to get a
legit business bank account setup.
These are all things that arenice to have.
They are things that youprobably will have down the line
as you grow your virtualassistant business, but they are
definitely not requirements andthings that you need in order
(01:52):
to start making money.
What you actually need isclarity on who you help and what
you offer, a decision on yourrates.
How much are you charging?
How are you structuring it?
Are you doing hourly selling, bundles of hours, doing a
service package, a way tointroduce yourself like a
one-sheet resume that givespotential clients a really easy,
(02:13):
quick glimpse into who you areand what you offer.
A simple way to get paid.
This is something a lot of newVAs try to overcomplicate, but
you can literally just usePayPal and Venmo.
You need a contract ready forwhen you sign your first client
and we actually give you acontract template created by an
attorney inside of the SuperstarAssistant Academy.
(02:34):
You need somewhere to show upright.
You need to have Facebook orInstagram or threads or a
combination of all three and theconfidence to get out there and
talk and connect with potentialclients about what you do and
how you can be helping them.
And, in terms of actualequipment to do the work, all
you need is a computer, asmartphone and Wi-Fi.
(02:56):
That is it.
I promise y'all that your first, second, third client they
don't care what your brandcolors are, they don't care if
you have some super freakingcute logo.
They literally just care if youcan help stop them from
drowning in their business on adaily freaking basis.
There are some computer programsand softwares that will be
(03:18):
super helpful to have ready, butagain, we're not doing like big
tech setups.
In order to start signingclients as a virtual assistant,
I would recommend that youcreate a separate Gmail account
right, so that everythingrelated to virtual assistant
work is going to one email.
It's just going to make it wayeasier to keep track of.
And then using a booking sitefor your discovery calls,
(03:40):
whether that's Calendly or usingGoogle Calendar.
But you want to have a linkthat you can send to potential
clients when they want to book adiscovery call with you and
then literally Zoom to host thecall, or Google Meet to host
those discovery calls.
And then, if you are someonewho likes to use digital setups
in order to keep yourself moreorganized, you could also use a
(04:02):
project management software likeAsana or mondaycom or Trello
just to keep your connectionsand your discovery calls and the
onboarding process of yourclients organized on your end.
But all of those softwares Ijust mentioned, they all have
free versions of them and youcan just use the free version to
start.
You do not need to be payingfor memberships across these
(04:23):
different platforms.
Well, this made for a reallyshort episode y'all, because
there's not really a whole lotof shit that you need in order
to get started as a VA, which isa huge, freaking perk in my
book.
You just need to start.
You need to get started.
You can always polish later, you can add other tools and
other resources and othermarketing materials as you go,
(04:45):
but all of the things I justshared with you, that is truly
all that you need.
That is actually required toget this ball rolling and get
out there and start signingclients and bringing in income.
If you would love to have someguidance from someone who has
been there done thatsuccessfully on how to do things
like get clear on who you helpand your services and your rates
(05:07):
, and even how to network andwhere to show up to get in those
conversations with potentialclients then I would love for
you to join me inside of theSuperstar Assistant Academy.
It is my self-paced, proven,step-by-step program that shows
you how to use the skills thatyou already have to sign clients
, make money from home andcreate more time with your
(05:28):
family in just 28 days.
Over 800 women have alreadygone through this program and,
on average, they're signingtheir first client in just four
to six weeks.
My five-step framework I haveall the faith in the world will
help you go from what do I dofirst?
How do I set this up?
To holy guac, I just signed myfirst client and I am so
(05:49):
freaking excited.
