"The Dawn of a To-morrow" is a short story written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a British-American novelist and playwright, best known for her children's books, including "The Secret Garden" and "Little Lord Fauntleroy." The story was first published in 1906 as part of a collection of short stories called "The Dawn of a To-morrow and Other Tales." The story is about a young woman named Maida Westabrook who has just inherited a large fortune from her father, a wealthy businessman. Maida is beautiful, intelligent, and well-educated, but she has led a sheltered life and has never had the opportunity to experience the world outside of her wealthy family's estate.
