a review by regulators of its rates. The company also
has proposed plans to upgrade electrical systems. Uh's Ed Heart
says rates might go up slightly because of this.
Speaker 15 (05:39):
We don't know how much that's going to be. Certainly
on the basis of past performance, Centerpoint has not lived
up to its responsibilities.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
But keep in.
Speaker 15 (05:49):
Mind, we haven't been paying for all of that either,
So we're we're between a rock and a hard place
on this.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
He says that while there has been talk of a
rate decrease, might just be temporary because there's so much
work that needs to be done. The legislature begins in January,
but lawmakers started filing bills yesterday. One of those found
by Deer Park Representative Briscoe Caine, who wants to create
the Texas Border Protection Unit, which would have the authority
(06:18):
to arrest illegal aliens. Five oh six stocks are down
in overnight trading ahead of the October inflation report that
comes out at seven point thirty this morning. Now in
the week since Donald Trump's victory. Bitcoin has risen to
record highs at about ninety thousand dollars, other digital currencies
rising right.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Along with it.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
Chances are these cryptocurrencies will continue to rise over the
next few months.

What's contributing to the rise is an expectation of a
very positive and friendly regulatory environment.

Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
What happened, Why it happened, The information you need to
start the day.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Now back to Houston's morning news. There you go, like
you needed me to tell you that five o eaters
our time. Thank you here on Houston's Morning News. Evidently
the United Nations does not like the fact that we
eat so much meat, and they are urging countries around
the world to implement attacks on meat. They want to
(07:59):
call it the True Animal Protein Price. Oh, this is
the name of their organization within the UN, The True
Animal Protein Price Coalition, gave comments on Friday to the
twenty twenty four UN Climate Change Conference urging countries to
begin taxing meat. These are report Friday weighing the pros
(08:21):
and cons of attacks on certain foods, including meat. Well,
hang on, timeout, what are the other foods? One wonders,
what else don't they want us to eat? Well, I
guess if they want to get rid of meat, they
probably also want to get rid of dairy cattle, right,
so maybe they don't want to staff any milk or cheese.
(08:42):
Maybe they want to tax those things. They suggest that
the US and some Western countries as laggard relative to
other UN countries when it comes to their food pricing policies. Listen,
if you were, we are already voluntary, well kind of involuntarily. Actually,
(09:04):
we are all ready cutting back on our meat consumption
because of high prices, because of inflation. You know, a
lot of folks can't afford to go out and buy
you forty dollars worth of sake, so they'll get a
chicken or cheaper meat instead. But it sounds like the
United Nations doesn't want you to eat chicken. They don't
(09:24):
want you to eat any kind of a meat. Now,
how much of at tax are they proposing, don't know.
Just do the countries that impose the tax to keep
the money or is this something to fight climate change
through the United Nations.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Here's the good news.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
At least Stefanic will be the new UN ambassador and
she's gonna go in front of these kinds of committees
and say, bs, we have no interest in participating in this.
So if these other countries want to figure out how
they can tax the meat keep the people from having
a reliable protein source, more power to them. But that
ain't us five to ten time for traffic and whether together.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
The only way you can.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Get any pudding is feel on the blank, Jimmy, Well,
then we can get it, can't You can't have any
pudding unless you somebody out there help us up.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Is this Is this like an old saying. Yeah, it's
a very common saying. I have never heard.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Somebody on tip line if you you can't have any
pudding unless.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
You okay, we'll get to you today. I can't wait
to figure it out.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
No, you're gonna kick yourself when you when you hear
the answer off tip line seven one three two one two,
hey four seven.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Let's check two twenty five south loop six ' ten.
Whoa look out? That looks like a serious vehicle fire.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
This is heading over to Golf Gate from the Ship
Channel Bridge.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
If I'm looking at these lights right, that sure looks
like the.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Golf This has gonna be westbound. We'll take up a
right lane. It's a lot to see.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
It's not that big of a slowdown just yet.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
But it's about to be. Here's the fire department. It's
a car fire. Hopefully everybody's okay. I'm pretty sure they are.
Just watch out coming around the curve from the Ship
Channel Bridge nor freeway.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
How you doing? You don't need no education?
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Southbound belt in let's go further back spring now nineteen
minutes into downtown. I'm Skymike of the Generator Supercenter dot
Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Let Terry do it. No, Terry doesn't know there's nolly
pink Floyd. Huh oh, okay, we'll see if she knows.
For marcat our Age Top tax Defenders twenty four hour
Weather Center. What is the phrase involving pudding and pink Floyd?
Terry Smith for one million dollars? Remember yesterday? Yesterday we
found out.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
That Terry never smoked. That's true, so she didn't list
of pink Floyd. Will I will tell you. I remember
the dark side of the moon.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
I will tell you if you don't eat your meat,
you can't have any pudding.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Okay, I don't remember. She's still not smoking. I did neither.
I look it up. Thanks, thank God for the Internet.
Speaker 17 (11:49):
Goodness.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Hey, by the way.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Before we get to the local forecast, what's this about us, Sarah?
Speaker 17 (11:56):
So, we have area of showers and thunderstorms down in
the Caribbean south of Cuba to the southeast of Haiti
that likely will become organized. National Hurricane Center thinks that
could be a tropical depression in the next couple of days.
They're going to be down there checking it out and
seeing if it's showing any signs of a closed load developing,
(12:20):
and at that point they would name it either a
tropical depression or perhaps even a tropical storm. Right now,
indications are that it's going to stay in the Caribbean
for the next several days, but we will continue to
monitor it for the possibility of it coming up into
the Gulf of Mexico and having some impact on the
(12:40):
United States. At this point, it's so far out from
happening that it could do something like Rafael where it
doesn't have any impact whatsoever, or it could do something
like move into the Gulf of Mexico and have some
impact on the United States.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
So we do need to watch it and we'll be
keeping an eye on it.
Speaker 17 (12:59):
But right now, wow, just a bunch of misbehaving thunderstorms
and around here there's not a drop of rain for
the rest of this week. We do have a coll
front that's had it our way that's going to help
to drop the temperatures, but you won't notice that until tomorrow.
It's going to be a warm day today loa to
mid eighties tomorrow though mid toepper seventies. Friday, load to
(13:20):
mid seventies the weekend. Lots of sunshine, though we do
have a slight chance of rain by Sunday.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Just about five twenty so time here on the Houston's
Morning News. We were just talking about the United Nations
a few minutes ago about how they want countries like
the United States to impose attacks on meat because we
eat too much meat. That is not the direction. I'm
pretty sure, pretty safe in saying that Donald Trump is
not going to take us in that direction. In fact,
word has it that he is going to pull us
(14:00):
out of the Paris Climate a Cords. We'll have more
in that story coming up next. First to five twenty
Listen to Traffic and Weather together. That starts with you
sky Mike.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
All right, I'm pretty sure everybody's okay on this vehicle
Fire South Loop coming off the Ship Channel Bridge, going

Speaker 4 (14:36):
They're blocking the lane all right.
Speaker 3 (14:37):

Speaker 4 (14:39):
See it's into the wall. Jimmy, Jimmy Barrett. You can't
have any pudding unless you eat your meat.
Speaker 10 (14:47):
How can you have any pudding if you eat your meat?
Speaker 18 (14:50):

Speaker 4 (14:50):

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Now, I can stay in the no News Radio seven
k t RH five two.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
A time you're on Houston's forty news. There's a lot
of things I think of when I think of Paris.
The Effel Tower, of course, rude people, well the Fredchick
got of rude if you're not speaking French. And the
Paris Climate Agreement, which is something that one hundred and
ninety six parties who buy into the UN Climate Change
(16:31):
Conference bought into back in twenty fifteen. It entered into
force in twenty sixteen. That's when it really started to
get enforced. We have signed on, or we did sign
on to the Paris Climate Agreement, but President Trump evidently
is going to withdraw us from that, which is probably
(16:51):
a good thing. Matter of fact, it is good thing
as far as I'm concerned, best things. First author Bjorn Lomberg,
he is a climate guy, but he's not a climate
change guy, thinks that withdrawing the US from the Paris
Climate Agreement is the right thing to do.
Speaker 20 (17:07):
Certainly at the beginning of the end to the push
with taxpayer money. Remember, the reason why we're not switching
away from fossil fuels is not because people want to
do global warming. It's because fossil fuels deliver cheaper and
more reliable power in general, which is of course why
the world used eighty one percent of its energy from
(17:29):
fossil fuels in two thousand and Last year it was
still eighty one percent.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
You have a new app ed I'll quote it.
Speaker 21 (17:39):
It's un climate conference, just an excuse to shake the West.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Down for cash if you want.
Speaker 21 (17:45):
Why is this the COP twenty nine, this big climate conference?
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Why is it a money grab. Well, first of all,
we have to remember it.
Speaker 20 (17:53):
There's a reason why it's called twenty nine because there's
been twenty eight other meetings before it which have resulted
in almost This, of course, is one of the reasons
why the Paris Agreement hasn't really worked. Instead of trying
to keep on doing this, we should be thinking about
doing much more innovation into green energy to make it
cheaper so that everyone would switch. But that's not been
(18:14):
the play for the last two decades. Instead, rich countries
have tried to bribe the poorer part of the world
to basically at least go along and saying that they
want to do something about climate We started spending about
one hundred billion dollars a couple of years ago. That's
mostly rebranded money, it's not real money. But now leaders
(18:35):
from the poorer part of the world is saying, well,
we want to up the andy.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
We want a trillion dollars or more.
Speaker 20 (18:41):
I just read in Financial Times today that the head
of the European Development Bank is actually suggesting that we
should be spending eleven point seven trillion dollars per year.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Of course, there's no way.
Speaker 20 (18:55):
We can come up with that money and certainly not
with Trump as president.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
You know, it's just just basically redistribution of wealth, that's
all it is. You know, it's taking money from the
halves and giving it to the elites to spend how
they see fit on leaders and countries that they want
to support, you know, Robin, Peter de Bay, Paul or less.
And we aren't really in as he said. You know,
(19:19):
we've been doing this for We've been in this agreement
for what seven years now, it really hasn't done anything.
Five twenty six. Here on Houston's Morning News, it is
time to take a look at your money. Here's Denise
Pelo Greening.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Yeah, Jimmy.
Speaker 22 (19:31):
Stock futures are lower right now ahead of a key
report on inflation coming out in a few hours. Right now,
futures down one hundred and seven s and P futures
down twelve. Nasday futures down forty six. Crude oil lower
in Europe. New report says what you probably already knew.
A lot of folks stressed about their jobs. A Fleck
workforces report says nearly three and five US workers feel
(19:53):
burned out, millennials the unhappiest, and Hispanic workers nearly twice
as likely to feel greater degrees of workplace heavy workloads,
long work hours resulting in post traumatic stress and eating disorders,
and rising costs for healthcare and worries about household finances
are making that stress worse. Here's something that could cheer
you up, though, Krispy Kreme giving free donuts to early
(20:14):
customers because it is World Kindness Day and they're also
unveiling their new Thanksgiving themed donuts today. That's why they're
offering those free donuts, hoping to get more foot traffic
and get more people to notice the new lineup. I'm

Speaker 3 (21:11):
It looks like everybody's okay on the South Looke judging
by the fire response. This is westbound, but it is
a vehicle fire that sucker burned up real good south
Lip six to ten westbound off the Ship Channel Bridge
Nord Freeway. That's an eighteen wheeler. Hope you're okay southbound?
Call it two left lanes, tip line, dude, Mike.
Speaker 15 (21:27):

Speaker 21 (22:05):
Thank you, Jimmy.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
It is five point thirty one on KTRH. Good morning everyone,
our top story.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
It should be dismissed. It should never have been brought.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
That is Donald Trump's legal spokesperson, Elena habba As. Manhattan
Judge Wanmer Shawn delays is presidential immunity ruling in the
business fraud case for Shawn has yet to determine whether
or not the entire thing should be thrown out. Remember,
the US Supreme Court ruled this summer that presidents had
some immunity. Elsewhere, a judge in New York declines to
(22:34):
postpone the fraud trial of former Trump advisor Steve Bannon
outside of court, had a message for New York State
Attorney General Letitia James and former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
How they like getting their ass kicked?
Speaker 5 (22:48):
On Tuesday, the American people rendered a verdict on their
law fare.
Speaker 23 (22:51):
You know what the American people told them to do, go.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
Themselves again, Bannon outside of court, the President elect meets
with Joe Biden later this morning at the Winehouse and
continues to make cabinet picks. I mean Elon Musk and
Vivek Ramaswami to head up the Department of Government Efficiency.
Fox's Pete Hegseth is Trump's choice for Defense Secretary. He's
a former Army vet. John Ratcliffe, the former Texas congressman
(23:17):
and Trump Director of National Intelligence, will be the CIA director.
We'll have more on this plus reaction at six o'clock.
The mainstream media may have been the biggest loser in
the election. Joseph Vasquez with the Media Research Center says
conservative media and new media were the big winners.
Speaker 24 (23:35):
What right leaning media conservative media have been doing is
showing though that there are alternative Elon Musk has shown
that as well, you know, by encouraging citizen journalism, that
people don't have to rely from these leftist echo chambers
to get their information.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
Trump's interview on Joe Rogan's podcast got tens of millions
of views. The President elect also appeared on several other
conservative podcasts. Five point thirty three More violent crime in Houston.
Woman shot multiple times killed in a Southwest Houston liquor store.
No arrests made, with police believing this may have been
an isolated incident. And while the city says violent crime
(24:12):
is down, burglaries remain a big problem. And we also
know that police response times are at their slowest since
the nineties.
Speaker 25 (24:20):
The response times are directly related to two or three
different things. One policy, two manpower in three traffic.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Doug Griffith with the Houston Police Officers Union told KTRH
that in a city this big, you can't approve response
times amid rising crime without more manpower. We've told you
that HPD is more than a thousand officers short of
what they need. The funeral for hfd's Marcelo Garcia is

so how are Americans dealing with it? By spending overspending.
It's being called doom spending.
Speaker 27 (26:20):
Doom spending is a phenomenon that is particularly strong within
our younger generations, in which they feel like the end
is near, is doomsday. We might as well have some
fun now and spend our.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
Money Certified Financial Planner in CPA, Bill Dendy says this
type of spending continues after the election on by those
on the left that are unhappy with Donald Trump. Doom
spending also has resulted in less savings accounts after the election,

That was their attitude or perspective in the first administration.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I Love My Dog Too. Five thirty eight is our
time here on Houston's Morning News. We are being told
by scientists now the dogs are going through a third
wave of domestication, driven by human's desire for pets that
are friendly, calm, and well suited to a sedentary lifestyle.
(28:35):
In other words, nice, quiet, calm, couch potato dogs just
like us. Swifer does kind of look like a potato.
It's the corky in them looks, you know, kind of
round it out. Anyway, Evidently, what is happening, especially in
this day and age where we have a lot of
people who are using animals or training or having animals
training to be service dogs is it is causing dogs
(28:59):
to adapt more to the modern American lifestyle, and they
are generally more concerned owners are about behavior. So the
behavior is sort of starting to evolve in dogs where
they are. Dogs weren't always domesticated. You go back, you know,
twelve fourteen thousand years ago, dogs were all wild. They
(29:21):
weren't human companions. They were they were all wild, and
they kind of evolved from the wolf, you know, But
those those wolf tendencies have been bred out of most
dogs at this point in time. Also, they bomb by
the way that there's a higher level of oxy toxin,
which is sort of the love hormone, if you will,
in service dogs. In other words, they're happier, they're they're
(29:43):
more friendly, they love on you more and more and
more dogs are being bred to be that way. That's
kind of the dog of the future. Five forty time
for traffic and weather it together, oxytoxin in the water
could yeah, so the fluoride, they'd be good.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Skuy Mike, we're in the sales department. All right, let's
go off the Hartman Bridge. We've got a correction here.
I got a correction on my direction Hartman Bridge. We
do have two right lanes missing. See if you look,
if you're playing.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
The home game, look in the upper right the transtar
logos blocking.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
What that was?
Speaker 4 (30:11):
I thought that was the Hilton on the baytown side. No,
that's the plant. It used to be DuPont. What is
it now?
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Hard hats tell me it used to be the DuPont plant.
So this means we're looking northbound, not southbound. Northbound. It's
two right lanes. We are a little smashed up southbound
just a little. People are going what the hood? So
northbound looks like we're losing about six minutes hart mein
Bridge North Freeway I forty five southbound airline. That is
an accident with an eighteen wheel or two left lanes. Boy,
(30:38):
we are smashed up now from Golf banket. It's getting worse.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
It's probably worse than my last look a minute ago.
Speaker 3 (30:43):

Yeah, I mean by tomorrow and into Friday as well.
You'll notice that drop in temperature a little bit more
typical usually this time of year. Our afternoon highs are
in the mid seventies, so that's the direction we're headed now.
It's going to be a warm day today ahead of

Speaker 1 (31:59):
Just about fifty of our time, there's a kind of
important vote today in the US Senate. There are three candidates,
John Thune, John Cornyn, and Rick Scott who are buying
to become the next Senate majority leader, taking over for
Mitch McConnell. They are the three very different people, and
there is one candidate though I think, probably represents the
Trump agenda better than the other two. A little more
(32:22):
on that coming up next, along with maybe how we
think that vote's going to turn out. First though, at
five poin fifty, just do a little traffic and weather together.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
What's going on, sky, Mike.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I'm just looking for this vehicle fire again? All right,
everybody's okay? Fires finally up with the vehicle's too hot
to handle? Good god, South Loop six to ten westbound
coming off the six to ten bridge. Let's call that
two right lanes heading over toward Gulfgate. If you're not hazardous,
go ahead and take iten through town. It's not that
big of a smuch, though, Heartmembridge. This one's starting to
get on your nerves now, Heart Membridge. Northbound, we've knocked
(32:52):
out two right lanes some kind of pavement repair, and
we have the eighteen wheeler into the wall. Looks like

Better all dated Diane Feinstein, Remember Diane Feinstein. Yeah, they
haven't done a new version. Evidently singing about the one
hundred US Senators, fifty three of whom will be Republican.
They're taking a vote today on who will take over
as the Senate majority leader from Mitch McConnell. Here is
Senator Utah Senator Mike Lee talking about the possibilities.
Speaker 29 (34:36):
We need reform in the Senate to restore the time
honored customs, traditions, practices, and rules that have given each
and every Senator a meaningful opportunity to debate, discuss, and
amend every piece of legislation that moves through. It should
not be a rubber stant body operated by the law
firm currently comprised of Schummer, McConnell, Johnson, and Jeffries. Every
(34:58):
state needs to be represented equally in that. That means
every member needs to have a voice. I want to
hear each candidate's plan for making that happen, because that's
been badly missing for the last few years.
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Why in the Senate is a secret ballot and is
it too late to change that and making an open ballot.
You know, it's an interesting question, Larry.
Speaker 29 (35:16):
When I first got here after being elected in twenty ten,
I raised the same question. I made a motion to
try to open that ballot for the leadership elections. It's
not successful at the end of the day, and doing that,
and what I discovered is the time honored custom of
that happening. There's a rule in place within the Senate
Republican Conference. Yes we could depart from it, Yes we
could change that rule, but they would take a majority vote,
(35:39):
and at this point there doesn't appear to be support
for that. Nonetheless, that doesn't stop individual members from saying
or being asked how they voted or how they intend
to vote. I think the reason for it in the
past has been people work closely together. They wanted to
preserve relationships within the conference. But you know, on the
other hand, because we've been such a closed loop entity
(36:00):
for so long, I think the American people would perhaps
like to see that opened up. But we especially need
to have the process opened up on the amendment process
with legislation.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
I can't tell you the number of times where.
Speaker 29 (36:12):
We've gotten a two or three or four thousand.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
Page spending bill. We've been told we've.
Speaker 29 (36:15):
Got hours, you know, no more than maybe forty eight
seventy two hours to consider it, no opportunity for amendments,
and everybody has to vote yes or no by on.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
A bill that was written by a small handful of.
Speaker 29 (36:26):
People of the aforementioned law firm of Schumer, McConnell, Johnson
and Jeffreys or one of its predecessors in secret, and
then there's a binary for down vote.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
That's wrong he's talking about. Remember of the old Nancy
Pelosi days. Well, you got to pass the bill before
we could tell you what's in it. It's kind of
what he's talking about there. Now, the people who are
running you've got John Thune, Republican South Dakota. You've got
John Cornyn. We're very familiar with Senator John Cornyn, who,
(36:56):
by the way, in my estimation, John Cornyn, it'd be
like voting for Mitch McConnell.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Again.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
He is very Republican light, he is very moderate. He's
modern to the point of almost being a Democrat. Remember
when the last time he ran for the Senate. Remember
his campaign commercials. Do you see any of his campaign commercials.
He didn't even identify what party he's from. His commercials
said nothing about being a Republican at all. He deliberately
(37:26):
left that off. Is if somehow now listen, I understand
that he's from the Dallas area, and I understand that
he's concerned about, you know, turning off you know, moderate
Democrats and moderate Republicans. But I'd like to think he
realizes that things have fundamentally changed, especially since this last election.
(37:47):
I don't think that either Thune or Cornyan would get
along with Trump that well. I think it'd be like
Corney would be the most like McConnell, and then Thune
would be slightly less like McConnell, but still too much
like him. Rick Scott is going to be the one
that is going to work the best and actually invoke
the Trump agenda. So if if we want to have
a Senate that's going to deal with the Trump agenda,
(38:08):
then you want to have Rick Scott be the Senate
majority leader. It's five fifty six. You're on Houston's Morning News.

is the nominee for DHS secretary and former Trump d
and I John Radcliffe, also a former Texas congressman, will
(40:35):
be CIA director. Republicans keep the House, but there are
some questions about what happens to the majority if the
President elect keeps selecting sitting House members for cabinet posts.
Speaker 6 (40:47):
President Trump fully understands and appreciates the math here, and
it's just a numbers game.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
That is House Speaker Mike Johnson. After taking control of
the Senate, Republicans will elect a new majority leader this
morning via secret ballot at eight thirty. Former US Senate
candidate Reid Raisner tells KTRH he thinks there's a clear favorite.
Speaker 9 (41:07):
We have Fune, we have Cornyan, and we have Rick Scott.
I think President Trump has it right. Rick Scott will
be our next leader and should be our next leader
because he'll advance the American First agenda and truly prioritize
President Trump's agenda.
Speaker 5 (41:20):
Both John Cornyn and John Thune have been party whip.
Both have also had a mixed relationship with Trump in
the past. The President elect will be in Washington today
meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House.
Speaker 31 (41:32):
It is important to him. It is important, not just
because it's important to him, but it's important to the
American people, he said. The American people deserve this. They
deserve a peaceful transfer of power.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
That is White House spokesperson Karine Jean Pierre. The meeting

Six ' oh three. On KTRH, Judge Wan Murshawn postpones

Speaker 5 (42:51):
Big changes are coming to the American energy sector when
Trump returns to the White House in January. Taylor Dacus,
the former head of the Pipeline Contray Factors Association, says
the last four years under Joe Biden have been rough.
Speaker 13 (43:05):
We had over thirty four hundred employees. Today we're only
sitting at nineteen hundred. Based upon the administration's policies, in
the next forty eight months, that numbers should double, and
when you take into account and all of the other
contractors involved, we anticipate tens of thousands of jobs.
Speaker 5 (43:20):
He describes it as a new feeling of hope for
the entire industry. According to reports, Trump will appoint an
energy Zar to undo all of the Biden error restrictions
in climate rules. Closer to home, Centerpoint agrees to a
rate review by state regulators. But while rates might go down,
it would only be temporary.
Speaker 23 (43:41):
That's because there's so much work to be done. There's
the replacement of thousands of miles of power lines, as
University of Houston energy fellow ed Hers says.
Speaker 15 (43:50):
Centerpoint also expects to bury more power lines across the area.
Apparently half of the Centerpoint distribution system is already underground,
but about twenty odd pound miles are above ground. It's
more costly to put these wires onderground, and that's going
to be a cost that's born by the consumer.
Speaker 23 (44:08):
Center Point has plans to modernize the local grid, but
the timeline and the total cost unknown. Michael Shiloh he

going to see bitcoin not only rise, but also become
part of more of our daily lives, especially over the

Have you heard this any work.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Before, probably shaking your head no. And that's part of
the problem. This was the election night theme on CNN.
CNN got beat by Fox News, they got beat by MSNBC.
I think they got I think they came in dead last,
to be honest with you for their election coverage, and
(46:20):
now they're going to pay a price. We, at least
the employees are going to pay a price. CNN Boss
Mark Thompson, here's the headline to layoff hundreds after election
day ratings wipeout ratings challenge, CNN reportedly said for a
major bloodbath, with Boss Mark Thompson expected to layoff high
priced on air talent as part of wide ranging layoffs.
(46:40):
The cable network, which lagged behind MSNBC and Fox News
during last week's election night coverage, will implement layoffs that
will impact hundreds of employees across the organization. Thompson hasn't
been there that long's he seems to be more of
a a more of a mainstream type of boss. He
doesn't I don't think he liked the altered liberal politics
(47:04):
that had gotten into C and N, and when he
took over, he started looking at ways to sort of,
you know, meet the middle ground. But evidently it's not
been enough, and that's part of the problem. When you
when you lose a decent sized audience, attracting them back
can be very, very difficult, especially when there are plenty
of other choices for them to go to. There's also
(47:26):
other mass layoffs coming in media. Paramount not announcing they're
gonna have mass layoffs, uh, scripts Howard, or maybe it's
just scripts now they're they're gonna be laying off thousands
of people. In journalism, it's it's gonna be a bad
time for journalists and for journalism in general, which is
why I'm so glad I'm not a journalist, a talk
(47:47):
show of stuff, not a journalist. I mean, we do
the news, Yes, we talk about the news, but we
give opinion, and we we do your level best to
you know, to to service our listeners with what our
listeners want to hear. That's what we do. The problem
is is when your own personal agenda is so far
different than your viewers or listeners, then you chase people away.
(48:11):
And that's what has happened to CNN and plenty of
other news organizations. They keep playing to a smaller and
smaller audience. Six ' ten time for traffic and weather together.
We're checking out the drive once again. Here's guy Mike Hey.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
We have closures downtown for firefighter Marcelo Garcia's funeral procession already.
That's going to include Fannin, Sandersino, Saint Joseph, Louisiana Street.
The firefighters themselves are going to have a fire equipment
procession from the fire station on Louisiana Street this morning
and Jefferson Street. I've got to find out if they're
going to close part of the Golf Freeway this morning.
(48:45):
And by the way, Mayor Whitmeyer is asking residents to
line up along the route to honor a firefighter, Marcelo
Garcia this morning. The funeral is at actually at nine o'clock,
but the procedures of the processions are going to begin early.

Let's go to our chip line. Do we have time.
Go guy, Mike, get around that accident. There's nothing I
see about eighteen weather. But there is a vehicle stuck

And there's also something in there.

Yeah, well that's easy to forget. It doesn't feel at
all like November.
Speaker 27 (50:00):
No.
Speaker 17 (50:01):
These temperatures five to ten degrees warmer than you would expect,

not going to get any rain out of this front today.

We've got the sunshine and the westerly breeze and so
a warm afternoon, probably warmer than what we had yesterday,
load of mid eighties and then overnight dry. Now the
cooler air does begin to show up at least briefly
tomorrow and Friday. Mid upper seventies tomorrow and then the
load of mid seventies on Friday. The southerly winds will
(50:38):
start to pick up over the weekend, so a little
more sunshine and warmer temperatures up near eighty degrees.
Speaker 4 (50:44):
We may get a rain dropper to Sunday.
Speaker 17 (50:46):
We'll see how that pans out.
Speaker 4 (50:48):

Something pretty amazing happened up in Conroe. Conservatives swept the
Conroe ISD elections. Now now have seven board members school
board members. They're all conservative and they're all female. I'm
pretty sure they're the only ones in the country that
meet that description. One of the newly elected board of trustees,
(51:23):
Marianne Horton, will join us in just a moment. First, though,
let's do a little traffic and weather together.
Speaker 4 (51:28):
Wow. As we check out the drive once again, here's

Well, that was a fast wrecord and Golf Freeway ninjas

Trenstark cleared. There's too we still have the vehicle fire
technically on the south Loop westbound going over toward Golf Gate.
All the off the ship Channel bridge that south Loop

Nord Freeway southbound. This rec's blocking three big lanes southbound.
It's a great big smudch now from the Beltwait, let's

Never sounded so good. That song's really old school, and
so evidently is conra asd. They went old school, they
went conservative. Matter of fact, they might actually this might
be new school. I don't know that any school board
has ever been this conservative, or had all seven board
members the conservative women. One of the newly elected members
of the Board of Trustees position seven is Mari Anne Horton.
(53:29):
She joins us this morning, Mary Anne, welcome to the show.
Speaker 12 (53:33):
I thank you.
Speaker 1 (53:34):
What made you want to run? Because I'm reminded by
something my dad always said, be careful for what you
wish for.
Speaker 4 (53:40):
It just might come true.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
Word on the school board can be especially when you're
dealing with parents, that could be tough work.
Speaker 4 (53:48):
Yes, yes, I know.
Speaker 18 (53:50):
I was a former teacher in the district, and then
I've got two kids in the district, so it means
a lot to me that you know we're providing a
sound education and that we're focusing on the basics of that.
So decided to run. I'm for my own kids, for
the kids that I taught. I am for our district
to hopefully get us back on track.
Speaker 4 (54:08):
So what subject did you teach when you were a teacher?
Speaker 18 (54:12):
I taught language arts.
Speaker 10 (54:13):
Eighth grade.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Okay, eighth grade middle school. Oh my goodness. There's nothing
tougher in the world than teaching a middle school or
is that? Is that like the worst age seventh and
eighth graders.
Speaker 18 (54:22):
I like, I like the challenge, and now I have
an eighth grader, so it's totally different having them in
my house.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
I'm seeing that about you. You really do like a challenge.
What do you see the biggest issues? I know some
folks who work in Conroe, ISD, And I know that
you know, everybody wants to go to the new school.
Isn't that always the case they do. Whatever the new
school is, they want to figure out a way to
get their kids into that school. So crowding has become
a problem even you know, for the new schools are
(54:48):
already over capacity our buildings. What are the bigger issues facing.
Speaker 18 (54:52):
Conra Well, yes, we did recently pass it on, so
we'll have some buildings coming up soon. We had massive
growth after the pandemic up here, just you know, crowds
of people moving up here, So that is one of
the issues to tackle.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
Now, are you weighing in it all on illegal immigration?
Because I know that does impact our local school systems.
You have children that you're educating that may or may
not be here legally. You're not allowed, evidently to ask
what their immigration status is. You just have to educate them.
But is there any way to keep track of how
many kids that you're having to educate this way and
(55:28):
what it's doing to your school budget?
Speaker 18 (55:32):
Well, I think i'd have to get in and see
from a school board perspective, I do know that you know,
when you're providing services that cost money, to have the
extra help available for ESL bilingual students, that is something
to definitely look into.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
Okay, what do you say is your biggest issue that
you would like to accomplish as a member of the
school board.
Speaker 18 (55:53):
Well, like I said, I was a teacher and just
starting kind of with the pandemic, We've been losing a
lot of teachers, and I think there's a lot that
we can do on a local level to keep attract routine,
great teachers to our school. So that's kind of one
of my primary focuses. I want to make sure that
we're keeping quality teachers here for my kids, for everyone's kids.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
Why do you think you're losing so many teachers? I
know a lot of school systems are. Is it just
that the profession has become so difficult.
Speaker 18 (56:20):
Yeah, I think there's been a lot of administrative work
that has been added on to teachers, especially following the pandemic.
I'm just kind of attracting students with testing that sort
of thing, and then just maybe not necessarily feeling supported
by parents. So I'd really like to bridge that gap.
Between parents and teachers so that we can build our
district better.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
Is there a way for teachers to be able to
regain control of their classrooms. I know that the autonomy
they used to have as far as dealing with discipline
issues is pretty much.
Speaker 18 (56:48):
Going away, right right, Well, I know that I've heard
from a lot of teachers that they feel like they
don't have the administrative support. If a student is sent
out of the class they are sent right back into
the classroom. Something that we are looking at what can
be done at the local level and then possibly at
the state level to provide teachers with the ability to
(57:08):
remove dangerous kids from the classroom.
Speaker 1 (57:10):
All right, Marian, hey, thanks for joining us this morning.
Best of luck in your new gig at Conroe ISD.
That's Mary N. Horton joining us at six twenty seven.
It is time to take a look at your money.
Here's Denise Pellogreeny.
Speaker 4 (57:21):

Speaker 22 (57:22):

down ninety five s and P five hundred features down eight,
Nasdaq futures down thirty five. Mortgage rates on the rise
thirty or fixed rate mortgage up to six point eight
six percent in the latest week. That is the highest
since July, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association.
Speaker 4 (57:39):
And you know how hotels are.
Speaker 22 (57:41):
Selling clothing and other swag, Well, now the Four Seasons
is getting in on the pajama party. Luxury hotel selling
pajamas designed for millennials. They cost two hundred and eighty
five bucks. They come with button front tops and pull
on bottoms, and Oxford's a team kind of a luxury
kind of vibe. It's all advertising for when you think
(58:01):
about it, for the brand. They already sell those mattresses
and pillows and other betting. But then that kind of
begs the question, does it make you want to stay
at the hotel more when you know you could spend
two hundred and eighty five dollars each on the pajamas
when you go there. I'm Denise Pellygrinty Bloomberg Business on

Joseph Vasquez with the Media Research Center says that is
why President elect Trump went on a tour of several
conservative podcasts. Is interview with Joe Rogan got ten of
millions of views six point thirty four. Now, the violent
crime problem in Houston continues as a woman is killed
shot multiple times in a Southwest Houston liquor store. No
(01:02:12):
arrests in that case. Now, the city wants you to
think violent crime is coming down, but police department data
shows that burglaries continue to be a big problem. So
why are crimes like burglary continuing while violent crime rates fall?
Speaker 25 (01:02:26):
The courts are not holding people accountable for these actions.
You can have a guy that's been arrested ten pounds
for breaking into motor vehicles, but he's only going to
get one hundred dollars bond.
Speaker 7 (01:02:34):
Doug Griffith with the Houston Police Officers Union told KTRH
on top of that, they still don't have enough officers.
Speaker 25 (01:02:40):
It's just one of those things that's going to take time.
We're going to work through it, and I believe violent
crime will continue to slowly decrease as we get more manpower.
Speaker 7 (01:02:47):
Griffith says the lack of manpower is also one of
the main reasons that response times are the slowest they've
been since the nineties. Ethan Buchannan News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Houston, staying updated on what is occurring.
Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
Use radio seven KTRH six thirty. I'm here on Houston's
morning News. It's the bills, right. So I saw this
id let's see how realistic some of this stuff is.
I saw this little feature that said twenty four things
you can cut save twenty thousand dollars a year. I thought, hey,
twenty grand a year. That's a lot. So like everything else,
(01:06:33):
this is this is the best case scenario. The number
one thing is credit card interest. In other words, never
charged more on your credit card than you can pay
off at the end of the month. And if you
can pay it off at the end of the month,
you don't get charge's interest. And the average person could
save about one hundred bucks a month just in interest
on their credit cards. And if you have a high
balance on multiple credit cards, you could save obviously a
(01:06:54):
whole lot more than that, of course, getting to the
point where you could afford to pay them off. If
you could afford to do that, right, you probably already
would have life insurance number two on the list. Now
I say this with a lot of caution because I
believe in life insurance. I have life insurance, but I
didn't have life insurance when I was eighteen nineteen twenty
(01:07:17):
years old, before I had dependents. I didn't get life
insurance until I started having kids. So for young people,
if you have no dependence and you have no children,
then life insurance probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
They put brokereach commission and fees on here, but again
that's an individual thing. Depends on who you are investing
(01:07:37):
with and how much do they charge your per transaction.
There's certainly ways to save on that, certainly ways to
save on bank fees. You should be able to, I
mean just about anybody. Any bank these days will give
you free checking and savings if you maintain at least
a minimum balance with them, or you have direct deposit.
Premium gas here now, actually this is a very good tip,
(01:07:58):
premium gas. I just got a V eight vehicle and
I asked, do I need to put anything other than
you know, the normal regular in it? And they said no, No.
Vehicles now very few are designed to run on a
higher octane than what is available with regular gasoline, So
you know, check your owner's manual obviously, but you probably
(01:08:21):
don't need to have premium gasoline in your vehicle, high
end coffee. Maybe that's why Starbucks isn't doing quite as
well as they used to bottle waters. On their list
of things that you could cut, cable TV, streaming services,
We'll see how you're getting in entertainment, phone games. But
the list goes on and on. If you add it
all up, it could be twenty thousand dollars. Of course,
(01:08:43):
you may not be having any more fun in life,
in which case you have to decide what's worth it,
what's not time for traffic, and whether together this is a.
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Good time without streaming services?
Speaker 5 (01:08:51):
Are you?
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
I shouldn't ask how you're entertaining yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
There's always something to do when you're met Jimmy, that's
a dangerous question I should ask. And you know what,
people text me all day and all the Oh, Mike,
what's going on on it tent? I'm like, dude, I'm
off today. But that's okay. Let's hit the let's hit
this Hartman Bridge thing here. They're doing some kind of
pavement repair coming up from the Laporte side. We're missing
two right lanes southbound. You're doing a nice job, but
(01:09:16):
minding your own business northbound. It's a bit of a skunch.
Let's check on.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
I'm going to check on the North Freeway shortly Golf Freeway.
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
That wreck is gone. That was inbound at six ' ten.
We're still packed up from Edgebrog. It just looks like
the Golf Freeway and southlap six tent clear the vehicle fire.
Everybody's okay. That was westbound coming off the Sherman Bridge.
Just a bit of a scooch on two twenty five inbound,
but stay the course if that's your normal route.
Speaker 4 (01:09:41):
Wildcard line.
Speaker 23 (01:09:42):
Oh, this is Jeff from Conro going southbound on I
forty five.
Speaker 15 (01:09:46):
All is clear, and if you don't eat your meat.
Speaker 18 (01:09:48):

Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
I've been getting that all morning, Jimmy. Just fyi, Tip
line seven one three. We still haven't had a female
call today seven one three two one two t ips
T Did you see that vehicle fire? I sent you
on the on the video there. Yeah, that's kind of crazy.
Everybody's okay. You could tell by the response if you're
looking those two right lines that everybody was fine, but
they just had to do a little blocka.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
It's interesting, Jimmy, Mike, you're just like local TV news.

Speaker 4 (01:10:22):

Speaker 17 (01:10:24):

but yeah, we're going to be enjoying a lot of

gets into southeast Texas later today. But you know what,
no rain, folks, Just warmer temperatures. Load of mid eighties

much we warm up tomorrow. It's a sunny day and
a mile day, mid upper seventies and Friday temperatures in
the load of mid seventies that feels like fall. We'll

Now you're in Houston's borting news all right for people
who have put buying a home on hold, selling a
home on hold, all those types of things. What's going
on right now in the Houston real estate market, and
where are we headed and what do we think the
future the near future looks like, especially post election. Here's
a report on all that from our television partner KPRC two.
Speaker 32 (01:13:38):
Now is not an easy time for would be home
buyers like Raoul Slas.
Speaker 33 (01:13:43):
I'm just trying to be open minded about different places
in the inner city and get an idea of what
I really.
Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Would like and where am I to live on how
I saw like to have.
Speaker 32 (01:13:53):
Salas is one of many potential buyers across the Houston
area weighing his options.
Speaker 33 (01:13:59):
I just think if it's the right place and the
right price, I probably would pull the trigger. I think
more importantly is just getting in in the place you
like and then there's some price appreciation.
Speaker 32 (01:14:09):
Local real estate agent Fronnie Flowers says the Houston area's
current inventory is sparse, making it even tougher for buyers
to find a home that meets their needs.
Speaker 4 (01:14:19):
Right now.
Speaker 30 (01:14:20):
It's been very difficult for clients to either make a
decision if you love it, you buy it, because there
some homes are still getting multiple offers.
Speaker 32 (01:14:29):
With mortgage rates still stubbornly high despite the Fed's rate cuts.
Mortgage lender Alison Celestie says it's important to focus on
timing that works for each buyer's financial picture.
Speaker 34 (01:14:42):
The best time to buy is when you're ready, and
you don't really have a true gauge on when you
are until you consult with mortgage lender. Starting now is
always going to be your greatest advantage.
Speaker 32 (01:14:55):
As some buyers continue to wait on the sidelines, Celestie
says we're facing what she calls the largest pent up
buyer demand in history, creating an ongoing imbalance in the market,
and warns it could shift again, eating up even more.
Speaker 34 (01:15:12):
I think that COVID will pale in comparison to what's coming,
and I don't say that to scare people, and they're
just waiting on those better interest rates to hit before
they make that aggressive move.
Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
I think she's right. Once the interest rates do eventually
come down again, and they likely to come down sometime
early in the Trump administration, then look out, it'll be
a feeding frenzy again all right. Time for the timeline

the misdemeanor cases need to be thrown out, but even
the gray area ones need to be questioned.
Speaker 12 (01:20:50):
The Supreme Court overturned how the doj unlowsily applied fifteen

Speaker 5 (01:21:06):
Many January sixth defendants requested delays in trials, signing Trump's
promise to consider pardons. The US Supreme Court, in the meantime,
declined to hear an appeal from one defendant, John Nassi,
challenged the law that banned parading, picketing, and demonstrating inside
the capital. Our news time is now seven oh four.
The US energy industry is preparing for a boom with

Speaker 13 (01:21:44):
We woke up to a whole different place, so feeling
of tranquility and feeling hope. You know, for the past
three and a half years, the Biden administration told us.

the next four years. Corey Yulsen New's Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 5 (01:22:04):
Thank You Corey. Center Point says it is ready for
a review by regulators of its rates. The company is
also proposing plans to upgrade the electrical system across the
Houston area. Ed Hr says rates might go up slightly
because of this.
Speaker 15 (01:22:19):
Well, we don't know how much that's going to be.
Certainly on the basis of past performance, Centerpoint has not
lived up to its responsibilities. But keep in mind we
haven't been paying for all of that either, So we're
between a rock and a hard place on this.
Speaker 5 (01:22:36):
Her says that while there has been talk of a
decrease in rates, it might just be temporary because there's
so much work to be done. The Texas legislature begins
in January, but lawmakers started filing bills yesterday, including one
from Briscoe Kine of Deer Park, to create the Texas
Border Protection Unit, which would have the authority to arrest
(01:22:57):
illegal aliens.

Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
Now stocks are down and overnight trading ahead of the
October inflation report, which comes out in just over twenty
minutes from now now. In the week since Trump's victory,
Bitcoin has risen to new heights, earning almost ninety thousand dollars,
other digital currencies rising right along with it.
Speaker 7 (01:23:18):
Chances are these cryptocurrencies will continue to rise over the
next few months.
Speaker 16 (01:23:22):
What's contributing to the rise is an expectation of a
very positive and friendly regulatory environment.
Speaker 7 (01:23:30):
Money and business expert Derrek Kenney told KTRH, We're even
seeing widespread acceptance of bitcoin.

The next four years, we'll have to get better telling
the story of Houston every day.
Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
Quite a story.
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Use radio seven forty KTRH seven only in our time
here in Houston's boy News. This is a laundromat or
washingtia story. I've never washedteria. That's that's kind of a
uniquely Southern term, you know, for a laundromat, A washeteria,
whatever you call it. We had a group of three individuals,
(01:24:43):
well actually four if you count the child who ended
up getting arrested. The three ended up getting arrested by
punishing the six year old, the childhood's six. Evidently, the
child lost a bag of chips and got upset. I
don't know if the child throwing a tantrum or yelling
and screaming and crying, but was upset. So in an effort,
(01:25:06):
I guess to shut up the child, the three decided, well,
let's just use what we've got here in front of
us to try to figure out an appropriate punishment. How
do we punish your child for crying because they lost
his chips. Let's see what have we got here? We
got a washer. We got a dryer, I know, let's
(01:25:30):
stick him in the dryer. And they did, and then
they shut the door, and then they turned the dryer on.
Only for a minute, though, No, we just wanted to
make sure he he you know, he got good and scared. Yeah,
I would think he did. I'm trying to think of
tumbling at a dryer for sixty seconds. I don't know
(01:25:53):
if they meant a literal minute or a figurative minute. Clearly,
this is not an appropriate way. Y'all think spanking is bad.
This is clearly not an appropriate way to punish a
child or to teach a child a lesson. We know
the three individuals' names. What we don't, or what is
(01:26:15):
not clear in the stories that I've read, is the
relationship of these people to the six year old child.
We know that the female, who I'm guessing is probably
the child's mom, is eighteen years old and may not
be particularly mature or have a lot of parenting skills.
I think we can safely assume that, right, So what
(01:26:37):
should happen with the child? Should the child go back
to the parent it's with a guardian now or some
other family member. You know, what would be appropriate for
the court to do. Do you put these, you know,
knuckleheads in jail? Do you send them to parenting classes?
I mean, if you think that putting some a child
in a dryer and turning the dryer on his punishment,
(01:26:58):
my guess is you're not really likely to take too
well to parenting classes. I don't You might be unteachable,
is what I'm saying. Seven to ten. Time for traffic
and whether we go to the top of your head.
Do you remember what sport my mother was involved when
for thirty years? Yes, I do, right, go ahead and

Cowboys and cowgirls have something called a Western belt. And
she says that I acted up in the store one
time one time. After that we were fixed. Western belts
are kind of long time ago in Pasadena. They're kind
of thick and heavy. I can see, yeah, yeah, I
can see. Well that might that might be, that might
literally make an impression. It's where I learned to say yes,
(01:27:38):
ma'am and no servant. All right, let's go to the
hard work in east side here Hartman Bridge. They're doing
some kind of pavement repair northbound from the Laporte side.
I got two right lanes missing, and I don't know
how long they're going to do this. Here, it's a
pretty good scooch Now from two twenty five, I wouldn't reroute.
I would stay the course here East loop Bridge. Now
this is the Shermanship Channel Bridge north on turning base
(01:28:00):
and oh look out left lane here, center lane. Yeah,
that's gonna block out some laneage and mess you up.
Coming up from two twenty five going the other way.
Toll bridge is looking better by the minute. Visors you're
jammed up now in the Katie Freeway from Graham Parkway
and the Eldridge. You're not bumping into each other, but
you lose about five or six minutes here. I got

Next on the ten, Well, you know, Roger, every six
years a senator comes up for election, So yeah, there's
there's changeover, and there's a lot of new faces, a
lot of new Republican faces in this new Senate. They
have fifty three seats and they're guaranteed the majority. Joining
us to talk about that in the big vote coming
up this morning is red Raisers, a form US Senate candidate.
(01:31:32):
Let's start with the election results first read were you
pleasantly surprised that they gathered fifty three seats or were
you hoping for even more?
Speaker 10 (01:31:40):
And what an amazing night for America. Fifty three is
a good number. We can always use more. It would
have been it would have been great to have more.
But the sunshine on our shoulders felt good on Wednesday morning,
I can tell you that. And across the country, Republicans
one overwhelmingly. It was such a mandate with President Trump,
not only the popular vote, but the electoral vote, and
(01:32:03):
then the Senate fifty three seats, and we're hoping we
take the House here, so hopefully those votes get in
quick so we can find out what's happening in the House.
Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
They're finally starting to call the House race. Looks like
it's going to be two nineteen or thereabouts, so that
will be controlled of the House, the Senate, and the
White House. You better get some stuff done, right, well,
they better get some stuff done.
Speaker 10 (01:32:22):
We had two well really two years before our next
election cycle.
Speaker 20 (01:32:25):
So.
Speaker 10 (01:32:27):
We have two years to get President Trump's agenda legislated
and gave the wheels moving and get them greased to
really make an impact for Americans and America finally. So
it's a very exciting time that we're on and the
horizon that's great for us.
Speaker 1 (01:32:43):
There are three candidates who are going to get voted
on today to become the new Senate majority leader. You've
got Rick Scott, John Thune, and John Cornyn. We know
John Cornyn very well. He let's just say he's not
a very conservative Republican. In fact, when he ran last
time for the Senate, he didn't even list himself as
a Republican in his television ads. So I'm guessing that
(01:33:03):
would not be Trump's first choice to be the Senate
majority leader.
Speaker 10 (01:33:07):
No, President Trump is backing as well as I Rick
Scott to be our next Senate majority leader. And you know,
a vote for Rick Scott is going to end the
terrible anti Trump era in the United States Senate and Congress.
That is terrible Mitch McConnell era. When we look at
Thoon or even Cornyn, it's going to just be a
(01:33:28):
continuation of Mitch McConnell and Liz Cheney. I'm from Wyoming,
so it's a really great diptick here. We can compare
the two. It's time to end that and get someone
in there that will push through President Trump's agenda and
a champion that American first agenda. And Rick Scott's the
guy to do that. I'm a firm believer.
Speaker 1 (01:33:47):
Well, I think he's probably the favorite. John Thune seems
to have picked up at least a little bit of support.
I don't think John Cornyn is going to have any
luck getting that position at all. But do you expect
this to happen today? Do you expect it to happen
on the first vote? How long do you think it's
going to take to make this choice.
Speaker 10 (01:34:03):
Well, I hope they can get it together. I hope
this isn't a speaker of the health situation. I hope
they can get behind a candidate Rick Scott, they can
champion him. We can get behind President Trump and his agenda.
You know, President Trump won with a massive mandate across
the country, so I think they can't take President Trump's
pick lightly. So I hope we get it done in
(01:34:25):
the first vote. I hope it's quick, easy and over.
And I would say America is watching the United States
Senate today. I know Wyoming is certainly watching our delegation,
and I'll bet you Texas is watching their delegation. So
we're watching the United States Senate and I hope they
make us proud because we sent them there, and we
re elected or elected them to do a job, and
we elected President Trump overwhelmingly to get the job done.
(01:34:48):
So let's get Rick Scott in there and let's get
business moving forward.
Speaker 1 (01:34:52):
All right, Reed, thanks for joining us this morning. Good

may have been an isolated incident. All the city claims
(01:39:29):
that violent crime is down, Burglaries are still a big problem,
and we now know that police response times are their
slowest in thirty years.
Speaker 25 (01:39:38):
The response times are directly related to two or three
different things, one policy, two manpower, and three traffic.
Speaker 5 (01:39:46):
Doug Griffith with the Houston Police Officers Union tels KTRH debt.
In a city this big, there just isn't a way

Speaker 5 (01:41:27):
The economy is bad, so how are Americans dealing with it?
By spending overspending and they're calling it doom spending.
Speaker 27 (01:41:36):
Doom spending is a phenomena that is particularly strong within
our younger generations in which they feel like the end
is near, is doomsday, We might as well have some
fun now and spend our money.
Speaker 5 (01:41:49):
Certified Financial Planner and CPA Bill Dendy says this kind
of spending continues after the election because the left is
unhappy that Donald Trump won and doom spend thing has
also resulted in less savings since liberals thought that Kamala

If you're an anarchist, we have a job for you.
Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
Our left wing groups with a history of engaging in
violent protests are being recruited. You mean like Black Lives
Matter are being recruited ahead of President elect Donald Trump's
inauguration on January of the twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:44:00):
Flyers are up and hang on flyers like help wanted?
Speaker 1 (01:44:08):
What in the world would you put on a flyer
to try to attract an anarchist? Flyers are now suddenly
appearing around college campuses in Washington, DC. I guess that's
a good place to recruit. After scanning the QR code
on the flyer, a collection of link invites individuals to
fight fascism by joining the following groups. Here's the name
(01:44:31):
of the groups. The People's medic Collective, the d MV,
Students for Justice in Palestine, the Socialist Action Initiative. Those
are the three groups that are actively recruiting protesters for
Trump's inauguration.
Speaker 4 (01:44:50):
Day, So.
Speaker 1 (01:44:53):
I'm pretty sure they're not going to be able to
get anywhere near the inauguration. They're probably just want to
get near television cameras. I'm guessing, what's a job like
that paid, you suppose? I mean, what can service skill
set do you have to I guess you have to
be a pyromaniac. That would help to be a pyromaniac
if you're anarchist. I'm just curious what the skill set
needs to be to be an effective anarchist, other than
(01:45:17):
you know, being having a propensity for violence, liking to
burn things, not having any care for other people or
their personal property or other people's rights. I guess that's
part of what you have to have to be an anarchist.
Can you imagine the job interview on that? Yeah, yes,
you're interested in becoming an anarchist for the Trump inauguration. Yes,
(01:45:38):
what are your previous what are your previous writing experience?
What have you burned in the past? How many police
officers have you assaulted? I guess that's part of the
question there, right, seven forty time for traffic and whether
together green hair and a booger ring that helps. Yes,
that fits the look. That's for sure.

Inflation arose point two percent last month. The year over
year number comes in at two point six percent, which
is up from two point four percent in September. Donald

I live in clear Lake, Humble, reliable kt RH traffic bandweather.
Speaker 1 (01:50:08):
Next on the ten. Well, there's one squirrel in particular
that has got everybody's attention, Peanut the squirrel. He may
recall this story out of New York State where somebody
made a complaint about Mark Longo and his wife running
some sort of a wildlife refuge. He had a squirrel
(01:50:31):
who basically lived in the house and was like a
pet and a raccoon, same kind of thing, and for
whatever reason, supposedly somebody complained about it. I'm not quite
sure you know how this whole thing came down. In fact,
I know that Mark Longo, who's the owner of Peanut
the squirrel, or the custodian, if you will, the guardian
(01:50:53):
of Peanut the squirrel, has no idea, has never been
told who complained about them. Matter of fact, he's getting
stone walled in any effort to get any sort of information.
Here he is yesterday with an update on his case.
Speaker 36 (01:51:09):
Honest and Chris, I'm just disgusted you know, you made
a ten month investigation for scrolling raccoon. We have murderers
and rapists running the streets and they don't get investigations
like this. So you used all of our taxpayers money,
in our resources to conjure up a story about a
scroll in a raccoon that was so detrimental to our
society that they needed to come and kill them. And
(01:51:32):
then you come out and make a statement that you
already were talking about euthanizing them before you even invaded
my privacy and raided my home. Why do you think
they did it? And do you know who went to them?
I having a clue, and it's still in the dark.
I've gotten no answers. I've gotten no response to the government.
I have to live in this state and these people
(01:51:53):
don't even have the stones to give me a call
to say, hey, I killed your animals.
Speaker 4 (01:51:57):
Also, I cut their heads off.
Speaker 36 (01:51:58):
Also, you know doesn't have like we all knew in
the beginning of this story, I'm still standing here without
rabies from either one of those animals.
Speaker 7 (01:52:06):
Are you considering legal action to make them have to
disclose why this was done this way?
Speaker 36 (01:52:13):
Absolutely, we are filing a very big lawsuit. We're gonna
get answers, and we're going to demand them. You know,
not only did you violate my constitutional rights, but you
need to come up with an explanation as to why
you murder these animals.
Speaker 1 (01:52:27):
You know, I'm not a super big fan of lawsuits,
and sometimes suing the government is is difficult at best.
Government's pretty good at making themselves immune from most prosecutions.
But I hope he is one hundred percent successful now.
More than likely, what will end up happening is somebody
(01:52:49):
in New York State, I don't know, from the governor's
office or somewhere there is just going to basically say, yeah,
let's just write him a big check and settle this
whole thing. Okay, this is making us look bad, and
I hope that doesn't happen. I hope they end up
in trial. I hope, I hope. You know, the way
government conducts itself changes as a result. They shouldn't have
the ability to raide you like this and to take
(01:53:11):
your property, your possessions, with no question disasked. Somebody's got
to rein them in. Listen, you'll have a great day.
I'll see you tomorrow morning, bright and early. At five
