(01:34):
Here's Cliffsanders.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
Thank you, Jimmy, and good morning everyone, five oh one
on KGRH Hower Chomps story.

Speaker 7 (01:40):
This is a massive legal victory, a massive victory for
law and order.

Speaker 6 (01:45):
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt is. The US Supreme
Court rules in favor of the Trump administration's mass deportation flights.

Speaker 8 (01:53):
In a five to four decision, the Supreme Court granting
the Trump administration's request to lift a federal judge's temporarily
prohibiting deportations under the Alien Enemies Act. The Trump administration,
using these seventeen ninety eight law to deport more than
two hundred alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador. The
American Civil Liberties Union suing on behalf of a group

(02:14):
of migrants, arguing the president exceeded his authority.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
Kristin Goodwin reporting meantime, a Houston based airline, a Velo Airlines,
has agreed to operate these flights, and some are calling
for boycotts of it. The High Court has indefinitely paused
yesterday's Federal court deadline to return an illegal alien mistakenly
with air quotes deported to El Salvador.

Speaker 9 (02:37):
That man was deported last month.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
These rulings come after the White House asked the Court
to decide how much power federal district judges actually have.
South Texas College of Law Houston professor Josh Blackman says
the issue has never been hotter because of the injunctions
already issued against Trump.

Speaker 10 (02:56):
Not just how broad the rulinings are, but some of
these rulins are issued immediately and the government can't even
appeal before the role goes into effect, adding into a
bit arrogant for single judges, sort of dictating pot or
policy nationally without other judges and even a Supreme Court go.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Pine on the legislative side of things, where Republicans in
Congress are pushing legislation to rein in those judges.

Speaker 9 (03:16):
Five O three.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
A bomb show announcement at the White House yesterday direct
talks with a run over its nuclear program.

Speaker 11 (03:24):
They've started. It'll go on Saturday. We have a very
big meeting and we'll see what can happen. And I
think everybody agrees that doing a deal would be preferable.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
The President pulling out of the Obama Iran nuclear deal
back in twenty eighteen. Trump also won concessions from a
top trade partner when it comes to tariffs.

Speaker 12 (03:46):
We are going to eliminate the tariffs and.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
Rapidly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin netanyahuu at the White House.
The administration says that seventy countries now want to talk
about Trump's tariff plans. The markets seem to be in
a better mood this morning. Futures are up across the
board down Future specifically seven hundred and forty five points up.
Asia and Europe also posting gains, and today's games just

(04:11):
show that the markets are resilient despite the mainstream media
meltdown over tariffs.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
This isn't anything we haven't seen before, and stocks will
likely come back up.

Speaker 13 (04:21):
You're down about six percent for the year. Five to
ten percent. Portfolio moves is the cost of doing business.
If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be in the
market at all.

Speaker 7 (04:30):
Financial planner Richard Rosso says that this is actually a
great opportunity for long term investors to buy.

Speaker 13 (04:35):
This is an opportunity for you to own because this
tariff issue is going to get priced in. It's going
to get overpriced in, and then there could be some
negotiations that happen.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
Russo says, the reason the mainstream media is playing this
up so much is because they have an anti Trump agenda.
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
She joins Jimmy by the way Rosso does at six
twenty six ZHO five OHO five. Rather, oil prices are
rebounding this morning, now nearly sixty one dollars a bat.
Prices dropped on opex announcement of production increases last week
and tariffs. Keeping energy affordable is a key part of
the Trump agenda. After four years of Biden energy policies.

Speaker 14 (05:12):
Biden administration put us on a dangerous trajectory by seeking
to stifle domestic conventional energy production. And we need to
recommit to domestic production to protect our nation and ensure
that the American people have a reliable and affordable energy supply,
both now and in the future.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
Senate majority of the Leader John Thune, Well, here's another
impact of Bidenomics. A third of all Americans can't afford
quality healthcare.

Speaker 15 (05:38):
That's according to the West Health Gallop health Care Affordability Index.
But according to doctor Bill Hennessy of care Guard Health Solutions,
until medical system reform happens, you could still navigate through
the system, ask ahead of time. If you can pay
cash for things, it actually sometimes is cheaper than going
through your insurance company.

Speaker 16 (05:57):
And when you get those major insurance companies out of
the way, all of a sudden, the drugs become very,
very affordable.

Speaker 15 (06:04):
Michael Shenlog News Radio seventy forty KRH.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
In Austin, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is serious about
his threats to get rid of the Texas Lottery Commission.

Speaker 9 (06:15):
If we can't look at people in the eye and
say to Texas.

Speaker 17 (06:17):
You can trust the lottery and you're gonna get a
fair deal and the games are fair.

Speaker 18 (06:21):
We can't do that, then we can't extend them.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
The Commission is currently under investigation by the Texas Rangers
over couriers that allow people to buy tickets online and
they're linked to a pair of controversial lottery jackpots. Five
h six heartbreak in San Antonio is the Koogs lose
the NCAA Tournament National Championship game to Florida sixty five
to sixty three.

Speaker 19 (06:43):
Two great teams, two tough teams. You know, we lost
by two points. They they made a more more play
than we did.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Head coach Kelvin Sampson and the Astros lose to the
Maritors four to three. They'll play again tonight. Coverage at
seven point thirty Here on k TRH. I'm Cliff Saunders
on Houston's News, weather and Traffic station k TRH.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
More with Jimmy Barrett and the Houston Morning News teams.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
This is Houston's Morning News.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
We used to joke about the measles.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Now the whole.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Country's panicked over the measles. Well, they're more panicked right
now over Trump's taffs. Some they are about the measles,
but measles is number two compared to Trump's Trump's tariffs.
All right, so let's discuss the measles here for just
a moment, and the latest medical data on this. Here's
the headline, Can you get measles if you've been vaccinated?

(07:42):
What to know about the MMR and boosters. I'll hang
on a second. Somebody wants to sell us a booster
shot for the measles, Now, is that what this is
all about? Selling us a booster shot.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
We have had.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Five hundred cases here in Texas and it's now in
twenty one different states. We had a school age child
who was unvaccinated who died Thursday in the hospital from
measles pulmonary failure. That's pretty rare. Other states with confirmed
cases Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota,

(08:21):
New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont,
and Washington. The disease caused by the measles virus transmitted
through the air. It's very contagious. Thus, you know, for
seniors out there, you had something. You remember measles parties
and chicken pox parties back in the day where your

(08:43):
parents would purposely expose you to another child who had
it so they could just get it over with. That's
what they did back in the day before they had
any vaccinations. But as far as the vaccinations go, how
effective are they now? I will say right up front,
this information is from the CDC, so do with it
as you will.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
You know how much I trust the CDC.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
For the CDC one dose of the MMR vaccine ninety
three percent effective against the measles, seventy eight percent perfect
effective against the bumps, ninety seven percent effective against rubella.
You get all three and one two doses ninety seven
percent effective against the measles, eighty eight percent effective against
the mumps. Can you still get the measles? The answer

(09:28):
is if you've never had the measles, Yes, that's the answer.
You can still get the measles. Although it would be
a much milder case, and would probably you could almost
be certain it would not be life threatening in any way,
shape or form, just a lighter case if you were

(09:49):
you know, if you're senior citizen, you're above the age
of seventy. I guess at this point, if you if
you had the measles, you actually physically had the measles,
then you have lifelong immunity. The measles cannot get you
twice five ten, time for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
It's just like I just had the measles. I mean
I shouldn't.

Speaker 20 (10:08):
It was.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
It was the week after Nixon went to China. Remember
it's just just a while back.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Just a few short years ago. Comeing, give me immune.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
By now you have lifelong if you had it, lifelong,
lifelong amenity.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
We do not to worry about it. I'm proof of it.
Then it lasts a long time. Let's go to.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Katie Fort Ben Road Katie Freeway I ten. Here we
go in debrief. People are losing their stuff in the road.
What is this some kind of big square sheet thing
with little ripple deals. It's not really hurting anybody. It's
in the left kind of in the left lane. But
watch out and inbound Katie Freeway I ten.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
At fort and more stuff in the road too. Two
ninety at ten.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Well that's road debris. I can't see what that is,
but it's a center lane. Watch out for other stations
listeners swerving at the last minute.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
On the forty fives Nord Freeway.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Looks guys, Conroe will good in and twenty three minutes
from the Woodlands on the forty five freeway causeway. We're
supposed to have some roadwork north of the causeway again
this morning.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
We'll keep an eye on that. And from clear like
in it's twenty one.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Minutes I'm skylike in the USA Rbresorts dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
From r KTRH stop tax defenders twenty four are whether
sent Terry Smith is here. Wow, this is the shortest
forecast I've seen a long time. Sunny, sunny, sunny, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday,
son Just rinse and repeat. No water to rents with.

Speaker 21 (11:27):
We're putting on the weather on cruise Control today. It
does warm up though, that's the big change, the big change.
Today's really going to be a nice day. My old
low to mid seventies this afternoon. Temperatures tonight on the
pleasant side as well, anywhere from the upper forties to
the upper fifties gets a little warmer with southerly winds

(11:49):
Tomorrow close to eighty Thursday, temperatures will be the warmest
of the week in the mid to upper eighties. We
get a week cold front to come through sometime Thursday
evening and that'll knock the temperatures into the load of
mid eighties for Friday and Saturday.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Right now forty five at your official severe weather station.
News Radio seven forty k TRH.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barretts and the Houston
Morning News team all the info you need to take
on the day.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
So, as I alluded to a few minutes ago, this
is not about getting the other side to remove all
their tariffs. It's much more complicated than that. And a
great example is the beef industry, where there are a
lot of countries that will not allow American bev in,
or if they do allow it in, the tariff has
to jacked up so high that they cannot possibly compete

(12:47):
in that country of origin. This is not just about
getting the tariff to go away, but also well I'll
let Senator Brosso explain it and we get some reaction
from a cattle rancher to it. Coming up next first, though,
traffic and weather, together with sky Mike, I don't know
what it is.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
It's some kind of object on two ninety at Tidwell.
Transwill can't get eyes on it. I've asked the pretty
ladies on TV. They don't know either, and I don't
have much of a view of it. But it's road
to free that. All we know is it's a middle
object two ninety inbound at Tidwell and it's in a
center lane. So watch out coming in from Fairbanks, North Houston.
Watch out for other stations, listeners, swarvings. Rest of our freeways.

(13:25):
Southwest Freeway looks good. Brassus River twenty six minutes in
Golf Freeway looks rocking long now from the causeway to
eighty eight. Piece of Kate twenty two minutes from Manvil
all the way north found into the canyon.

Speaker 5 (13:37):
I'm Skymichael. The USA Rvresorts dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
From r KTRH top tax Defenders twenty four hour weather center.
Sunny today looks like about seventy four sonny. The bound
eighty for the high tomorrow sunny and warmer eighty seven
for the high temperature on Thursday. Current temperature is forty
five at your official severe weather station News radio seven
forty k t RH. We're checking out some more of

(14:01):
our top Tuesday stories. Here's Cliff, Thank.

Speaker 9 (14:03):
You, Jimmy.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
We're sponsored by Partners in Building. Overnight trading is up
sharply despite the mainstream media narrative on tariffs. Texas Attorney
General Ken Paxton ensues San Antonio for funding out of
state abortion travel and so much for being with the
people and for the people. AOC spotted flying first class

(14:24):
to Las Vegas for a Bertie Sanders rally.

Speaker 9 (14:27):
You can't make this, you know what up?

Speaker 6 (14:29):
Get the latest news anytime at KTRH dot com.

Speaker 9 (14:32):
Our next update is at five.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Thirty three hours.

Speaker 22 (14:36):
Something in our city, something's happened that shouldn't have.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
Had CHECKI in all day prepared. It's always something for.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Anything on Youth Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Get it out five twenty three our time now here
in Houston's warring news. All right, So, if you're in
the cattle ranching game, how has it been trying to
sell your beef to other countries? It's been almost impossible,
right because of high tariffs. But it's even more than
the tariffs. It is whether or not the country even

(15:08):
allows you to send your beef in there. A lot
of countries, you know, the tariffs are there for protectionism,
which is why we have this huge trade deficit, and
that I think is the final goal for President Trump.
It's not about getting the tariffs down to zero. Heck,
we've got like seventy countries now that want to negotiate

(15:29):
terraces down to maybe zero or are barely there. The
problem is still that we have these huge trade deficits.
So here's Senator Barasso explaining he's from Wyoming, so you
know something about cattle, explaining, you know countries what even
friendly companies like Australia have done as far as jacking.

Speaker 23 (15:48):
Terris sold twenty nine billion dollars worth of beef in
the United States and we haven't been able to sell
one Hamburger in Australia because of Arry.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
They showed Thailand tariffs and.

Speaker 23 (16:00):
Beef coming from the United States Vietnam fifty percent. Hey,
you look at these numbers, and the ranchers of Wyoming
are saying, thank you, mister President, it is about time.

Speaker 24 (16:10):
Well, I'm very confident, And the reason I'm confident is
because I know the American people and people like myself
and what we do is we're going to go out
and do our job every day, no matter what happens
on the TV or with the news and everything else.
Every single farmer in this country, for one farmer, we

(16:31):
feed one hundred and sixty nine people, so that goes
out all across this country and the world, and that's
pretty efficient. So we're going to keep doing what we're doing,
and the market's going to adjust itself. We're going to
have the highest quality beef in the world, which we
do have. So if we have fair trade, that will
eventually come back to us because people are going to

(16:53):
want our product because we know what we're doing.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
I haven't been here.

Speaker 24 (16:57):
My family's been here, like I said, like you said,
for five generations. That doesn't just happen unless you're doing
something right. And all across this country we see the
same thing from ranchers, So I think we just need
to settle down and.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Let it play out.

Speaker 24 (17:13):
I get a kick out of the markets today and
it kind of reminds me of my horse Cash Whenever
I get done with a ride, you know, he's and
take his saddle off. He runs off and he's going
to roll around in the dirt. And everything else and
get away from me. But then as soon as as
soon as he gets done with that, if you hold
out a bucket of oats or something, he's running right

(17:33):
back and getting right back there.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
So I think these markets.

Speaker 24 (17:36):
Are going to do the same thing we saw it today.
With just one little rumor what happened to the STPHO
market jump right back up, and now it's really kind
of hanging in there.

Speaker 25 (17:46):
Now.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
It looks like, yeah, looking good this morning. You know,
the panic appears to be over, at least for now.
The panic appears to be over. What did the President
Trump call them yesterday? Pannicans? He says, there's a new
party out there, new political party out there are people
who just freak out over nothing. They're called pannicans. Five
twenty six. Now time to take a look at your

(18:07):
money as we check in with Jeff Bellinger and Jimmy.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
Good morning.

Speaker 26 (18:11):
Yes, the stock market is pois for a turnaround, at
least that's the way the futures look right now. S
and P futures are up sixty four points, Nasdaq futures
or up one hundred seventy, and the Dow futures are
up six hundred seventy points. The nation's small business owners, though,
grew more bearish. Last month. The National Federation of Independent

(18:32):
Business reports its small Business Optimism index fell by the
most since June of twenty twenty two. And it wasn't
just car buyers who rushed to make deals before President
Trump's new teriffs took effect. Many Apple stores across the
country were crowded over the weekend. There was a surge
in iPhone sales to consumers who wanted to upgrade before

(18:53):
possible price hikes. I'm Jeff Bellinger, Bloomberg Business on News
Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
You are no Houston's News.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Why there were traffic plus breaking news twenty four to seven.
This is News Radio seven forty ktrh Everywhere with.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
More of what's happening now from the John Morris Services Studios.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
It is five point thirty now here on Houston's Bonning News.
I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories this half hour
about seventy countries now want to negotiate with Trump. A
defense attorney provided for illegals, Well, that's pretty much no
longer needed that program, And coming up at five thirty eight,
the LA Dodgers visited the White House yesterday. Even Mookie

(19:38):
vets details in the minutes, sayhead, you're in Houston's bonning.
They nice, they were nice. Whoa, yeah, unbelievable. First, it's
check out that morning drive a sky mine.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
It's two ninety inbound that tied well, No, no, don't
freak out.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
It's just a weather balloon. I don't know what it is.
It's a metal object or something.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
I have center lane tid well, just watch out for
swerving Katie Freeway headbound coming in from Katie Mills. That
makes sense, twenty nine minutes into downtown and your Southwest
Freeway rocking along Rosenberg. You sure are pretty this morning
for coming up now thirty two minutes from Rosenberg Skymike
on the USA OH, does tip line work or not?
Seven one three two one two tips testet for me.

(20:16):
I'm at the USA Rvresorts dot Com Traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Aiknetchee or lead or from our KTRH generator of super
Center twenty four hour weather Center Sunday today with the
I seventy four lots of sunshine this week and the
temperature is gradually warming up. We'll talk to Terry Smith
about that in nine minutes. Current temperature forty six if
your official severe weather station. News Radio seven forty k TRH.

(20:39):
It's time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
Thank you, Jimmy five thirty one on KGRH. Our top
story this hour.

Speaker 25 (20:47):
We are the best place in the world to do business.

Speaker 6 (20:51):
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessett on Fox Business. Approximately seventy countries
have asked to talk to the Trump administration about up terrors,
but China is not in the mood to negotiate, not
by a long shot.

Speaker 27 (21:05):
China will fight to the end, according to the country's
Commerce ministry, warning that if the US imposes even more
tariffs on Chinese goods, Beijing has countermeasures up its sleeve.
It's also described as groundless. President Trump's claim that his
taris are reciprocal typical unilateral bullying is how the Chinese
see things.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
Jonathan Savage reporting, as far as overnight trading is concerned,
Dow futures are up six hundred and fifty nine points.
And as for the mainstream media claim that Trump is
taking your four oh one K and the stock market.

Speaker 28 (21:39):
The games we've had over the last couple of years
have been basically seven stocks, the magnificent seventy ais. Most
of the stocks in the S and P five hundred
have gone nowhere. Now they're gonna go crazy. They're gonna
go so bullish because we're bringing our investment home.

Speaker 9 (21:55):
That is.

Speaker 6 (21:55):
Trade advisor Peter Navarro New Research claims, you need one
point five million dollars to retires these days. So in
Texas you know that that money is going to go further,
mostly because we don't have state income tax. Financial planner
Bill Dendy says, that's one of the most important things
to consider for retirement, and.

Speaker 29 (22:14):
That cost of living as it applies to retirees is
going to be a lot of the property tax and
the state income tax.

Speaker 6 (22:22):
And of course we do have property taxes to deal with,
but the state legislature is working on reform. Five point
thirty three, the US Supreme Court gives President Trump a
pair of legal victories, ruling five to four to lift
a stay on deportation flights blocking a lower court order,
as well to return a Maryland man accused of being

(22:43):
an MS thirteen gang member who is deported to l
Salvador on May first. The Texas Supreme Court order requiring
some operation loan Star funds to be used for defense
attorneys for illegal aliens will expire, a sign that the
border is now secure.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
The rest have gone down quite a bit.

Speaker 30 (23:01):
The traffic has gone down. You know, the question is
is this slow down of traffic going to be permanent.
It's kind of hard to say what the traffics have
do in the future, but currently, right now our numbers
are much lower.

Speaker 6 (23:12):
Kenny County Attorney Brent Smith there. He says he wants
to know where that money was being spent on and
where that money is going to go. He also wants
to make sure they're prepared for a possible future uptick
at the border. Now, we warn you that the cartels
would adapt to the Trump policies, and they are. We've
seen more fentanyl seizures at the northern border.

Speaker 31 (23:34):
Some of our investigations indicate a rise in fentanyl smuggling.
In fact, many of our cases indicate this non opioid sedative,
this fake alprizilam and or fake xonyx laced with fentanyl
making its way into the United States and killing Americans.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
The DEA's Frank Tarantino on Fox more violent crime in
the Houston area and it's the result of these street
takeovers that we have been talking about for years. New
legis or rather, One woman is dead, her boyfriend injured
in a shooting last night on the Southwest Side. The shooter,
the women's ex, turned the gun on himself. Five point
thirty five state lawmakers looking to crack down on growing

(24:10):
anti semitism in schools. Legislation would add attacks targeting Jewish
people to the definition of bullying. State repmanch Heine says
his bill is bipartisan support.

Speaker 32 (24:22):
The Texas Holocaust Genocide Anti Semitism Advisory Commission recommended this
legislation to create a safer learning environment for Texas students.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
The bill would apply to any physical harm, property damage,
or the creation of quote an abusive educational environment. The
state Senate approves a billion dollar bill that prioritizes creating
new water supplies for the state.

Speaker 17 (24:45):
Senator Charles Perry's bill gives power back to the state.

Speaker 18 (24:48):
So now you'll have a state planning oversight role that
looks at three regions, and maybe they can do it
more efficiently by centrally locating the well that's going to develop.

Speaker 17 (24:57):
Those Senator Perry says this intends to produced six million
acre feet of new water sources, and the next step
is hashing out the state budget.

Speaker 18 (25:05):
What we'll do is have the HJR. Probably come over
to the Senate or work out the differences. And what
that is is that's the constitutional dedication of a band
already here.

Speaker 17 (25:13):
He adds, we have about nine hundred thousand acre feet
of water in Texas not being used. Andre Parard News
Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
Governor Greg Abbitt saints November fourth is the date for
the special election to replace the House seat vacated rather
by the death of Sylvester Turner. Candidate in Harris County
Attorney Christian Menafee as threatened a lawsuit. Five point thirty
six New reports show that the has been a surge
in toxic behavior at the office in Royal Andrews with

(25:41):
the American Psychiatric Association Foundation says, some of this is
post COVID people who are not happy with coming back
to the office in the first place.

Speaker 33 (25:50):
So we haven't pulled exactly on to twenty five where
we are on the political spectrum.

Speaker 6 (25:57):
By the way, this bad behavior results in a stagger
two point one billion dollars lost each day in productivity. Finally,
you h and Kelvin Sampson come up short at the
NCAA Tournament championship game last night, losing to Florida sixty
five to sixty three. I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's News
Weather in traffic station k t RH.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
You can have it.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Five point thirty eight is our time here in Houston's
Born News. No, I have no problem visiting Los Angeles.
I just wouldn't want to live there. Just just first
of all, couldn't live in California with the with the
government California has I mean, Djil Lord knows you probably
understand that some of you are California refugees. Listening to
our show this morning. The Dodgers, I must, I must

(26:47):
admit that this went very very well. The Dodgers visited
the White House. It is tradition for championship teams to
visit the White House, including who who ever won the
World Series, and the LA Dodgers have visited the White House,

(27:08):
including Mookie Betts. Now, the reason why I mentioned Mookie
is because the Red Sox won in twenty nineteen and
Mookie Betts was a member of the Boston Red Sox
at the time, but he declined to go because it
was Trump this time. He said, I'm gonna talk to

(27:29):
my family about it. He did, and he decided to go.
And when he got there, much to his credit, President
Trump didn't mention anything about you know, Mookie not coming
the last time and just said that, you know, hey, Mookie,
that guy can play, can he. I don't want to
say I watched him with Boston, but I did because
you know, Trump's of course a Yankees fan. I don't
want to say that that wasn't a particularly good trade

(27:50):
for them, but I'm right, you know, as far as so,
he's stalking Mooky up. You know, he's talking about show
Hey Otani and Clayton Kershaw. Clayton Kershaw, who I think
is a Trump fan, actually joined the owner of the Dodgers,
Mark Walter, in presenting a jerseys with the Trump in
forty seven, as you can imagine. But you know, they

(28:11):
were laughing, They're having a good time. Here's the thing
about President Trump. Bill Macher found this out right. You
spent a little time with this guy and you find
out that he's a pretty great guy. To spend time with.
He is, he's engaging, He is extremely personable. He turns
on the charm like nobody's business he wants to, just
like he can turn on the heat when people are

(28:32):
giving him a bad time. But most of the time
he could be charming. And that's what he was yesterday
five forty time for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 34 (28:39):
Hip.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
He's not a fascist, no go figure, sky Mike. He
doesn't hate the children.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
All right, Let's go to the north Sam north Sam

It's so sticky right there, all that merging craziness. Plus
you just get out of the road work from Alding Westfield.
Now I've got a wreck in a left line. Sure
looks like everybody's okay. I think we're just pointing at uh.
We'll keep an eye on that. See if the lane
it's changes at the five point fifty break, you've got

(29:05):
to ninety. Whatever that thing is, it's some kind of
metal object in the road at titwell, and if somebody
can get a good look at that, let me know,
watch out for other people swerving tip bline. It's good
to know. I didn't know if it worked or not?
Seven one three two one two t I p S breaker.

Speaker 34 (29:19):

the moon. There's not a cloud in the sky.

Speaker 9 (29:59):
Daring, Yeah, there is not a cloud in the sky.

Speaker 21 (30:02):
And I'm just thinking, imagine that sound as your wake
up alarm in the morning.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
I think it'll make a good car alarm. I agree
with that.

Speaker 21 (30:12):
Yes, Oh my goodness, yeah, beautiful morning, clear skies.

Speaker 9 (30:16):
Temperatures are definitely on the cool side.

Speaker 21 (30:19):
A lot of places in the forties close to fifty
to start off the day. Nice mild afternoon, though a
little bit warmer than yesterday, load to mid seventies today,
It's not going to be as cool tonight. Most of
us will be in the fifties tonight, and the warming
trend will continue tomorrow and Thursday, close to eighty tomorrow,
and then it'll be a little warm and muggy on Thursday,

(30:42):
still sunny though mid to upper eighties. We've got blue

This is Houston's morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
So we were mentioning this the other day, no surprise, right.
You know that most of these hands off protester are
highly organized and bought and paid for by people in
the world, like George Sorows, you know, just like all
these other protests are. I'm not saying that there aren't
any legitimate protesters that are among the people there. I'm
just saying that these things are you know, these things

(31:26):
are pretty much bought and paid for. Reg Gutfeld talked
about that on his show last night. We'll hear from
him next First, though, we've got traffic in weather together.
As we check out the drive again.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
Here is sky Mike it Katie Freeway look out at

Speaker 4 (31:39):

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Five fifty three is our time here in Houston FIGN news.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
They're called the hands Off protest right, hands off, hands off,
holding big hands off social Security, Like somehow DOSEE is
going to take away your social security for good God's sake.
They're trying to save it by getting rid of the
fraud and the waist. It's unbelievable that anybody would buy
into the argument about what Doze is doing. Here's Greg

(33:41):
Guttfeld's take on it from last Night Show.

Speaker 38 (33:44):
How about those hands off protests? Cute title, right, sounds
like something written on Joy Behar's lunchbox at work.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
But it's fun hearing.

Speaker 38 (33:54):
Hands off from people whose hands are in your wallet,
scratching Tesla's and reaching for your kids, and with so
many trans women in the crowd, some of those hands
were huge.

Speaker 33 (34:03):
But what an.

Speaker 38 (34:04):
Exercise in mass performance art the message for the government
to keep its hands off social security. Of course, no
one's touching that. It's about fraud, so the entire event
was also a fraud. But hands Off is pure progressive branding,
big emotion.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
Zero accuracy.

Speaker 38 (34:20):
It's like staging a protest to save the whales in Nebraska.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
When we all know whales are in New York. So
what's this really about.

Speaker 38 (34:32):
It's about having no argument against the thing it's railing
against Doze, which is designed to actually help the people
who are protesting. Doze's actual goal preventing a full blown
economic collapse, the kind where the US dollar becomes so
worthless I don't even bother to take them out of
my g string after a show. But rather than confront

(34:53):
that terrifying reality, the organizers cooked up a fake crisis.
They claim Doze is trying to destroy Social Security, which
is like accusing the fire Department of starting fires by
pouring water on them. They're also claiming that Social Security
payments will cease if Doge isn't stopped.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
Please, it's twenty twenty five.

Speaker 38 (35:11):
The checks are digital, So no, Grandma won't be eating
fancy feasts because Trump took an honest look at wasted abuse.

Speaker 5 (35:18):
That's a lie.

Speaker 38 (35:19):
But the most cynical part the organizers know this. They
know that they need to kill Trump's agenda if they're
ever going to get their power back, and so they'd
rather see the system burn than admit Trump has a point.
It's the same group that brought you Russian collusion, Democracy's Death,
Joe's just fine, and the classic fifteen days to.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Flatten the curve.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
Yeah, it covers a lot of it.

Speaker 35 (35:46):
You know.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
That's the thing about propaganda and lies. I guess you
repeat it often enough and you get a certain level
of people who are susceptible to the message to believe
the message. Yeah, it's like I got a story coming
up here about the latest way they're trying to sell
abortion is by reverting there. They're trying to do way

(36:08):
with the term abortion and replace it with the term
averted birth because you know that sounds so much better.
People equate abortions to killing babies. We really need to
come up with a better name, so we'll just call
it averted births. Who buys into that? By point fifty six?
Now here on news radio seven forty k TRH, this.

Speaker 9 (38:08):
Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
We are sponsored by plants for all seasons. Our top
story this hour.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
This is a monumental, colossal victory for the rule of law,
for the constitution.

Speaker 6 (38:18):
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Millers. The US
Supreme Court rules in favor of deportation flights under the
Alien Enemies Act. The ruling was five to four, with
Amy Cony Barrett siding with the liberals.

Speaker 14 (38:32):
Activist judges, liberal judges with a political bent.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
It's a threat to the rule of law, to our
entire system of justice, to equal justice, to the separation
of powers and all of it. And desperate times call
for desperate measures.

Speaker 6 (38:45):
Well speaker Mike Johnson with k TRHS Sean Hannity. The
Supreme Court also ruled to indefinitely stop a deadline for
the administration to return an illegal alien and MS thirteen
gang member reported to El Salvador. A man was arrested
in March. Meantime, another deportation case heads to court today.

Speaker 39 (39:06):
A court in Louisiana is holding a hearing today in
the case of Mahmud Khalil, a foreign national admitted to
the US as a student at Columbia University, accused of
violating his visa's conditions. And overstaying. He was taken into
custody earlier this year and is being held pending removal.
Khalil is openly responsible for organizing and leading demonstrations at

(39:28):
Columbia University that have been charged with anti Semitic hate
and Prohamas rhetoric.

Speaker 6 (39:33):
Evan Brown reporting at it all up, and it means
the battle between the White House and federal judges is
coming to a head.

Speaker 40 (39:40):
The Supreme Court is expected to take up the question
of whether district judges can issue nationwide injunctions. Josh Blackman
with South Texas College of Law, Houston, says the High
Court can't avoid this issue anymore.

Speaker 10 (39:50):
The Supreme Court has been taking the candawn the road,
and they turned in jumptions from ust a decade now
after the issue, even more since Trump came's office. Because
Judge Edition's orders, they're even hard to to appeal right
away because you're so broad.

Speaker 5 (40:02):
Worries at them.

Speaker 40 (40:03):
As for how the court will rule, he believes it's
anybody's guests. In the meantime, Republicans in Congress have introduced
legislation to restrict federal rulings. Coreyolson, who's Radio seven forty
K TRH. It is now six zh three on KTRH.

Speaker 6 (40:16):
A surprise at the White House as the President announces
talks with one of our biggest adversaries.

Speaker 11 (40:21):
We're having direct talks with Iran.

Speaker 6 (40:24):
The President pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal crafted
by Barack Obama seven years ago. On the subject of tariffs,
some seventy countries are now talking to the White House.

Speaker 9 (40:34):
One of them is Israel.

Speaker 12 (40:36):
It says, you know, we are allowing other countries to
put tariffs on us, but we don't put tariffs on them.
And you know, I'm a free trade champion, and free
trade has to be fair trade.

Speaker 6 (40:47):
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. So much
for that market crash the mainstream media wants you to
think is happening. Futures are up seven hundred and thirty
two points this morning on the Dow. They're also up
on the S and P and Nasdaq. Asia and Europe
also posting games this morning. By the way, last week's
losses were not even the worst over the last five years,

(41:09):
So why has the media been so worked up allver it?

Speaker 13 (41:13):
They are making it sound like it's the end of
the world because there's a hitden agenda there, and you
cannot pall for it because when you look at market
down terms, do you look at it on a longer
term chart?

Speaker 20 (41:22):
This is somewhat of a non event.

Speaker 6 (41:25):
Certifying financial planner Richard Rosso says now is a good
time for long term people to buy stocks because sooner
or later the market's going to bounce back up. And
despite the left narrative, Texas Congressman Roger Williams says, this
is what we voted for last year.

Speaker 41 (41:41):
We shouldn't have trade differences with anybody. We're the biggest
economy in the world, so we got to fix the
trade differences. But I think people will are with him.
I have seventy five million people. Is one of the
things he talked about doing.

Speaker 6 (41:53):
Williams on Fox yesterday. It is now six oh five
on KTRH. Well New research says one out of three
Americans can't afford quality health insurance. When doctor says medical
care reform is needed, but doctor Bill Hennessy of Careguide
Advocate says it's harder than ever to understand the medical
care process these days.

Speaker 16 (42:12):
Number One, get as much of your routine care as
a patient at a non hospital facility.

Speaker 6 (42:18):
And he says that you should not be afraid to
ask how much it's going to cost. Texas Lieutenant Governor
Dan Patrick continues to talk about getting rid of the
Texas Lottery Commission.

Speaker 18 (42:31):
A lot of people like to play it, but we
cannot renew the Lottery Commission if we can't trust it.

Speaker 6 (42:38):
The Commission is currently under investigation by the Rangers. It's
all got to do with a rule change back in
twenty sixteen which allowed so called couriers to let people
buy tickets online. They are linked to a pair of
controversial lottery jackpots. Six h six on Ktrhuh loses the
college basketball National Championship game to Floria sixty five to

(43:01):
sixty three.

Speaker 19 (43:02):
Two great teams, two tough teams. You know we lost
by two points. They they made a more more play
than we.

Speaker 6 (43:14):
Did, and coach Calvin Sampson the Coogs finished the season
at thirty five and five.

Speaker 9 (43:18):
The Gators win their third ever national championship.

Speaker 6 (43:21):
By the way, social media is very upset with Texas
Senator Ted Cruz, especially Kug's fans. He was spotted at
the game last night, so users onliners saying that the
so called cruise curse continues. He also lost a bet
to Florida Senator Rick Scott over this, and the Astros
lost to the Mariners four to three. The series continues

(43:42):
tonight covers at seven thirty on KTRH on Cliff Saunders
on Houston's News Weather in Traffic station News Radio seven
forty k TRH All day long, local state.

Speaker 9 (43:53):
What is happening in our country?

Speaker 5 (43:54):
Check you in all days? It's actually happening. It's always something.
Think you've seen it all on.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
Used radio se KTRH sis only our time here on
Houston's Morning News. All right, Reinventing yourself is hard, especially
if you are a restaurant. So I I think Hooters
has its work cut out for it. You know, they
filed for chapter eleven, right, so they're trying to They're

(44:22):
they're trying to reorganize. They're not they're not going to
close their restaurants. They're going to keep their restaurants going.
But they've decided what they want to do is to
kind of overhaul the image of Hooters and become more
family friendly, which strikes me as kind of a dangerous
thing to do. You know, you can you kind of
built your reputation on a certain niche, and the niche

(44:43):
at the time, which was something fairly new, is that
you know, you know, pretty girls not wearing a tremendous
amount of clothing, you know, being super super nice to
the male clientele and serving up beer and wings. The
problem is is there are a lot of places like
that now there are a lot of and there are
a lot of places is they serve up beer and
wings and the wings aren't anything super special, So why

(45:05):
would you go to Hooters. So they're trying to get
more people in the door, and so they're getting rid
of the things that they think it may potentially be
problematic if you want to build a reputation of being
more family friendly. So they're going to get rid of
their bikini nights. I didn't even know they had bikini nights.
They're also going to embrace charity work now. It seems
to me the Hooters has always sort of embraced the

(45:27):
charity work thing. You know, the Hooters used to send
you know, a lot of their their Wade staff, their
Hooter girls if you will, all out to different charitable events.

Speaker 5 (45:35):
Do they not do that anymore?

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Or And sometimes that could be problematic too, depending about
what the charity is because you know, unless they're changing
the uniform, how the Hooter girls dress, then there are
going to be you know, there are going to be
charities that you don't think it's family appropriate for them
to be there. So I'm not quite sure how this
is going to work for them.

Speaker 5 (45:57):
Six'.

Speaker 3 (45:58):

Speaker 35 (51:18):
I?

Speaker 5 (51:18):
Got, NONE great i.

Speaker 20 (51:20):
Got none trained?

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Your, people, well.

Speaker 20 (51:25):
Well here's, The thing JIMMY and i mentioned this on your.

Speaker 43 (51:28):
Show before if you have a diversified portfolio and you're
not all mired in, tech stocks your portfolio is down
anywhere from four to, seven percent depending upon how the
bonds look in, your portfolio five to. Ten percent pullbacks
should is a normal process. In markets so are people happy?

Speaker 11 (51:45):
About?

Speaker 34 (51:45):
It no are they?

Speaker 20 (51:48):
Surviving.

Speaker 43 (51:48):
It Absolutely what i've noticed is people who are panicking
are one they are very, politically driven which means that
the whole world's coming to. An END and i talked
to you before about all the bombastic headlines out there
that make this sound like the end of. The world
the other part of the people that decided that their,

(52:09):
trend followers and they got invested at tech stocks when
everybody else was.

Speaker 20 (52:14):
Chasing them, last quarter we were selling.

Speaker 5 (52:16):
Them down we.

Speaker 20 (52:17):
Were rebalancing you, sell high you. Buy low that's how
it's supposed.

Speaker 43 (52:22):
To work so if you are finding today now again
based on, our indicators we have a, technical composite you
should absolutely be seeing an oversold bounce here.

Speaker 35 (52:33):
In.

Speaker 20 (52:33):
Markets well in, other words you should start to.

Speaker 5 (52:36):
See recovery.

Speaker 43 (52:37):
Futures down futures are up eight hundred, points today so
all futures.

Speaker 20 (52:41):
Are up you are well to have a.

Speaker 43 (52:43):
Chance where maybe you get a replacement of at least
fifty percent of. This loss that's your opportunity as an
investor if you. GO listen i can't, handle, THIS MAN
i i can't sleep.

Speaker 20 (52:53):
A night you don't have to get out of the.

Speaker 43 (52:54):
Market completely you just have to rebalance. The portfolio you
possibly are taking on too. Much risk this is. A
time how many stories have? You read god tell you
you should not look at. Your statements you should put
your head in. THE sand i don't think that's. GOOD
advice i think you should look and then give yourself
a bet check if you're comfortable, with it and you

(53:15):
can rationalize that the money's not for a decade or
so or five years.

Speaker 5 (53:18):
From now.

Speaker 43 (53:19):
That's fine if it's making, you nervous you will have
an opportunity. To sell so you're probably going into. THAT
period i don't have a, crystal ball but you're probably
going into that, period where based on our sentiment indicators and,
techno indicators that you're going to get.

Speaker 20 (53:33):
A balance that doesn't mean that the selling. Is done
it means you're going to get an.

Speaker 43 (53:36):
Oversoul bounce people will have a chance to restructure, their
portfolios put less inequities more, in bonds and they should
be able to.

Speaker 20 (53:45):
Weather this have.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
Just fine there there are times we'll go through this all,
the time but there are times, of volatility and there's
times when things are just kind of quiet, and peaceful
and it would appear we're going to go into a
little bit more. Volatile time that's, also, normal right it is.

Speaker 20 (53:58):
You should get five to ten per sent pullbacks at
least three times.

Speaker 19 (54:01):
A year.

Speaker 43 (54:02):
Last year see when the water is clear and the
sun is out and it looks like glass on, that
water THAT'S when i actually. Get worried when things are,
Too complacent THAT'S when, i worry and last year we
were telling people and, telling, clients listen this year is
going to. Be different we are stimulus, is gone consumers are.

(54:23):
Tapped out regardless of who, is president we are going
to see. A slowdown and this is exactly. What's happening
the tariff news doesn't make. It Better what i'm saying
is this was a trend that was already. In play
what the markets needed was a reason.

Speaker 19 (54:37):
And they got it.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
All right so when the sun, is out the, water's
calm and the breeze is light and nice, and mild
that's when the theme Music from jaws comes into, your head.

Speaker 20 (54:47):
Right that but that's how you should be thinking as a.

Speaker 43 (54:53):
STOPPED investor i agree last year was extraordinary because we
have so much fiscal stimulus in, the market so much
cash out in. The system markets are not red, or blue.
They're green all that cash was coming to. An, end
therefore whoever was going to be president this year was
going to face a challenge in the. Economy itself, so

(55:16):
AGAIN like, i said taris were. The catalyst but if
you look at your, time frame look at, your allocation
you're going to have a few days again.

Speaker 20 (55:25):
Down features are up eight hundred. And, five right we'll
probably see.

Speaker 43 (55:28):
A rebound we'll see how, market closes but you're probably
going to have a chance to restructure.

Speaker 19 (55:32):
Your portfolio.

Speaker 20 (55:33):
You know for, some people they're, gonna go you, KNOW
what i didn't sign up.

Speaker 35 (55:38):
For this.

Speaker 43 (55:40):
I'm getting out. Of stocks, that's fine they're a. Fixed
income there are a lot of. Other choices know yourself as,
an investor and these are the times where you look
yourself in the mirror and decide what kind?

Speaker 5 (55:51):
Of, investor yep you?

(01:04:29):
I mean i Remember when hooters first, started, UP right,
i mean talking to your wife or your girlfriend to
Go to hooters was a difficult thing to do Because the,
hooter girls, you know it was it was just, pretty much,
you know it was a. Guy's PLACE and i think
that that's the same image they.

Speaker 5 (01:04:47):
Have now it's a.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Guy's place so if you have the image of being a,

mean you got to go somewhere with that. Family friendly
and it's great that they want to do more. CHARITABLE
work i think that's. That's altruistic that's a wonderful thing,

takes a. Different DIRECTION and i don't think they're, talking about,
you know getting rid Of the hooter girls or or,
anything else, You Know so i'm trying to come up.

different different things.

Speaker 16 (01:30:16):

Speaker 5 (01:30:17):
Day it's the, source it's the same. Always Been the
same youth RADIO seven k t rh.

Speaker 3 (01:30:26):
Seven twenty two is Our time here. In, houston's borning
news well not saying that you need to don't need to, get,
a good lawyer son but evidently we don't need as
many attorneys for illegals. As We Once did that Brent
Smith Joins us kinney county attorney. As the caseloads Crater According,
to The Texas Scorecard the texas supreme court has decided

(01:30:46):
they're going to end the state run program providing illegal
aliens with defense attorneys as the caseload. REALLY cratered, that much.

Speaker 47 (01:30:54):
I mean the, caseload has gone, down the you know the,
encounters have gone down their. Rest have gone down but
thing to point out is the emergency. Order that goes
away it just goes back to the counties to, appoint
those defense attorneys and it no longer is a state
program or the states appointing them on. Behalf of the
county so we had a meeting yesterday and THE county

(01:31:16):
judge and, i have, been discussing you know how we're,
going to do it and it kind of just Redoes
The Logistics for operation long star on.

Speaker 19 (01:31:25):
The apployment of council but we have seen lower wrest
numbers though.

Speaker 3 (01:31:29):
That's good as, a matter of fact that the rest
of the amount of people at the border looking to
come across the border is just. Almost completely dried up
but what you're saying is is that the state was
kind of, Forced to do this not that because they
wanted to spend a bunch of money on defense, attorneys
for illegal aliens but because we were so overrun there
for a while that the counties. Couldn't handle this themselves they.

Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
Needed.

Speaker 47 (01:31:49):
The, Extra help CORRECT yeah and but i just, want
to point, out though you know, the border is secure
you know, it's getting more secure but you know the,
interior of the state we're still seeing all kinds of
cat all activity Within, the STATE of texas and i
think that's something we're going.

Speaker 19 (01:32:03):
To have to address there's, No. Way around that.

Speaker 3 (01:32:06):
Brett do you do you FOLKS? Talk directly with ice how?
Does that relationship, work in other words when you feel
that you've got cartel members, operating in your county?

Speaker 5 (01:32:14):
What do you do? Who do you contact do? You
contact the STATE? Do you contact ice who?

Speaker 47 (01:32:18):
Do you, Talk, to you know, yeah usually, our sheriff
YOU know WE'LL contact ice or dhs and try to
do joint operations. With the federal government but in my,
role as, the prosecutor you know there's a detainer put
on them when, they're in county jail and then once
they get out of county jail, and serve their sentence
then THEY'RE handed over to ICE and who have.

Speaker 19 (01:32:37):
Ice detainers on, them and.

Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Of Course the difference between texas and a lot of
other states is that we ARE, completely, COOPERATIVE with, ice
right i mean they know exactly, when somebody's getting out
so they can be there, to pick them up unlike
a lot of sanctuary cities and sanctuary states where they
don't WANT.

Speaker 5 (01:32:53):
To, cooperate with, ICE yeah, they should i.

Speaker 19 (01:32:56):
Mean it's state law THAT.

Speaker 47 (01:32:57):
We cooperate with ice, so if you know some Some
liberal counties in texas, may not want to but it's
against state.

Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
Law, to do so well the good news about, the
liberal counties here so they, may not like to but they,
generally follow state law unlike unlike some other states where
they decided to. MAKE it up themselves.

Speaker 5 (01:33:12):
I guess.

Speaker 19 (01:33:13):
That's true, that's true, all, Right all.

Speaker 3 (01:33:16):
Right well i'm glad to hear that's that's that's. Just
continued good news if you were to ask for, any
sort of help is there, other than you know would
help rounding up cartel members and just trying to Keep Everything?
Safe in kenny county if any other area that you
would look for or want either, state or federal help.

Speaker 5 (01:33:33):
Where would that be.

Speaker 19 (01:33:35):
It's Going To. Be the, interior enforcement you know we
have a big.

Speaker 47 (01:33:38):
JOB on our hands i think too, many, People think,
that well trump's, elected the border secure. Our job is
done but. It's direct, to opposite You know, now that
trump's elected we need to help Him And, through the
interior enforcement counties Across the state of texas have got
to step up and help the federal government and, their
mission to security and not only the border but The

(01:33:58):
State and the United states and the texas legislature just
doesn't seem like they have an appetite for border SECURITY
because the way i, look at it is if we had,
another border crisis tomorrow what new tools do we have?
Now to counter this and right now we. Have no
new tools we have nothing new that wasn't. There five years,
ago and to me that's not learning from the past

(01:34:20):
to be. Proactive in, the future you know there are
several bills that have been filed, in The state legislature
but austin doesn't seem to be willing to do much
to get ready for the next time, because, the fact is,
unfortunately sooner or later we're going to have another OPEN
border president And i don't think texas wants to go through,
what we just did and so we have to be

(01:34:41):
proactive and preparing for the.

Speaker 3 (01:34:42):
Future and looking forward Well. Said sir Well Saith, Thank

more charitable. And more community oriented that's always a good
thing at the. End of, the day you Know people

(01:52:02):
think of, hooters a certain way and it's really difficult
to change how people think about you when they're used
to the. Way you've always been but we're trying to
help because after, all their you know. They've filed chapter
eleven they're keeping, all the restaurants open and obviously they
need to be more profitable to be around or. Successful
in the future so here's a few of your talkbacks
On what you thought hooters.
