(00:24):
Well, today's going to be one ofthose episodes where it is not
an episode of the music series. You get to listen to my voice
for a bit because I don't have much to say.
Today is that episode where I don't have much to say.
It's it's the times we live in. Podcasting is as popular as
ever. Music is as popular as ever.
(00:46):
I don't have much to add to anything right now.
Just right now, don't have anything.
Is the world we live in the saturation of podcast
conversation out there? It's crazy.
You can get conversations about anything and everything.
(01:07):
Doesn't mean it's good conversation, just there is so
much of it I don't have anythingto add.
Not at all. I'm bringing guys a bunch of new
music all the time. Sometimes you need a break,
sometimes I need a break and I had a break most of the summer.
But, um, right now with everything going on in the
(01:31):
world, it's hard to find the motivation to shorter microphone
and have a conversation about certain things.
Trust me, I can talk everybody'sear off about certain topics
which I cannot introduce to thisaudience.
I know my audience and this is just one of those things, but
(01:59):
here we are. And what I mean is I don't have
much to say is it's hard to comment on anything happening
happening out there without offending someone about having
an opinion, offending with your opinion, offending without
having an opinion. And with a music show like this
one, what do you as artists do about that?
(02:24):
Because as a show, I've always been open to all types of
opinions. I want an artist with an opinion
on the show. Of course, in every direction.
It doesn't matter. An artist is an artist is an
artist. Being an artist and expressing
your opinions is a big, big partof it.
(02:46):
We have. Even if I agree with them, why
don't agree with them? Doesn't matter.
Art is art. Art and expression is always
part of music and I pride myselfon having a diverse, a richly
diverse amount of artists on this show.
(03:06):
And yeah, everybody expresses their opinion, which is great.
Me on the other hand for those in my inner circle really close
know a lot about me though and majority of people outside do
not. I can talk in ear off about a
lot of the things in the world, weather, conspiracy theories,
(03:30):
politics, all music and entertainment.
I can sit here and talk about the situation of Bad Bunny and
the Super Bowl halftime show, but I don't care because my
opinion on it doesn't matter unless you want it.
But it really doesn't matter. A lot of people right now will
(03:53):
form their own opinions on a lotof the things without
hesitation. How many of your friends that
you know right now will will seesomething somewhere and be like,
oh, this is this, this is that, without even explaining the
reasoning. That's the world we kind of live
in. We live in the insanely quick
gratitude era, where opinions are formed on bits and pieces of
(04:18):
information, as I will one day make an episode in the near
future about the entire situation of where I'm at.
Which is very important to this show because I've made these
episodes before. Because this show all is around
only because it's allowed to be around others.
(04:43):
Opinions on things happening in the world most of the time are
based on bits, quick reactions and rage bait.
I try not to do that on this show.
If you've listened to any of the300 and whatever insane amount,
almost 100 episodes that I've happened on this show, I'm not
(05:04):
afraid about opinions. I'm not afraid of of the, you
know, repercussions because I always back up anything I say
and I'm not afraid to say it. But in these times, there are
avenues for that information which I will always front wall
(05:25):
from the last little bit will gear that information specific
to the show. O you won't hear all the crazy
concepts from the news that are happening these days on their
show. It's not the avenue to take if
it's music related, if it's entertainment related, like the
(05:46):
stupid Bad Bunny shit you might hear that weird lists, which I
need to get around to, the stupid rolling Rolling Stone
lists of top artists that they put out all the time, that
nonsense. I eventually need to get to that
because it's like they put thesethings out just to rage bait,
just to trigger people, just to trigger a reaction so people
(06:07):
think they're still relevant. I might get to that at some
point, but what I want to do eventually in the next couple
episodes maybe, is get to the inner discovery, the inner
feeling that music and thought brings out.
(06:28):
Get into that, get into the inspiration part in detail.
But that's coming up in the nextcouple episodes.
But even that can be controversial, and controversy
is scary to some people. But controversy?
If you can explain it without yelling, other people yelling in
(06:51):
your face about it, it's good discussions.
Good. Disagreeing is good, and that's
what we've gotten away from in this world is the ability to
disagree. Shouting down opposing opinions
(07:12):
is the cool thing. Now I am able to be behind this
microphone and have the ability to have a conversation with
anyone I've invited. The former Prime Minister of
Canada did a show formally. They never accepted, but at
(07:34):
least I would have a civil discussion with that man about
anything, even if I totally disagree with everything he's
ever done because, well, look atthis country that we're in now.
But I would have civil discoursewith facts.
(07:55):
If I had the ability to get on the Joe Rogan show, for example.
I don't agree with him on a lot of things.
I'd be more than happy to have acivil discourse with him too.
Anybody. But we don't do that in this
world anymore. We yell, scream, protest and
riot. Music is one of those things
(08:20):
that can bridge all that together.
What happened to those revolutionary songs that we had?
The inspirational music, the music that stands for something,
the music that challenges the every day.
(08:42):
It doesn't have to be the vulgar.
It could be better than have to be.
It could be subtle. Think of how many songs from the
70s you associate with, like theVietnam War, and most of those
songs are actually against the war.
Where is that? We need to be creating some of
those things. It's not really what this
(09:05):
episode is about, but I wanted to throw that in there.
This episode is about, well, that I don't have much to say
right now. My mind is a lot of different
things. There's a lot of things in the
background that are constantly changing.
Very unsettling times for me behind this microphone in this
studio because time is somethingthat I don't have at this
(09:28):
moment. I will have lots of it to
continue on, but at this time, it's very challenging.
And for those loyal listeners that listen to every episode
that I put out, thank you for listening.
I appreciate you so much and theartist and interviews aren't
going away. Scheduling conflicts is what
(09:50):
always gets in the way. But that's my fault.
I don't have, at this moment, a clear and set schedule.
It might change in a couple of weeks, but that's the world we
live in. I might have all the time in the
world for all the interviews forall the artists waiting because
(10:11):
outside of scheduling I mentioned earlier is the
motivation factor. I've had five hours today to do
some podcasting. I won't be getting to it 3 hours
in until my free time. Just not motivated.
I have all the tools, the abilities, but behind this glass
(10:33):
of amaretto on the rocks that's sitting right on my desk as I'm
recording, it's there's something that it takes to get
here and do something to artistshave the same type of problem.
(10:53):
And I mean writers block that's different.
I've had that, but the inspiration block, the
motivation block where you just like, you know what, I'm going
to numb myself in front of Netflix and watch a movie, which
I just did, which was awful movie, but that's a different
discussion. Do we have that?
Do you guys have that? Does that ever happen to you
guys? I want to know I can't be the
(11:16):
only one and podcasting is hard.I know music is extremely hard,
but podcasting is hard. I'm one of my sixth year.
My 6th anniversary is coming up in a couple of months.
Most podcasts do not make it this long. 90% of podcasts do
not make it this long. You're just so many more
(11:37):
important things out there to doand to be motivated to do this
on your free time or a lot of time that you have outside of
the other things. I got to do this.
It's not like I have a studio, which I do have a studio about a
studio dedicated to that, and this is just my daily job.
No, it's not. It's not.
(12:00):
And I mentioned this before, time is everything.
Boy, that demotivation kicks in.Not even the availability of
time can help. And that's why today I don't
(12:21):
have much to say, but I will. I'm taking notes.
I'm putting in so many episodes together in the back that I will
release eventually. They're gonna be tremendous, but
for today, that's it. I've had enjoyed in a couple of
minutes with me today and I'll see you next week.
(12:45):
You never know what kind of episode comes out Fatia soon.
