SPEAKER_02 (00:04):
Blessings, friends and family.
Here is your national weatherupdate.
I'm Keith.

SPEAKER_01 (00:09):
And I'm Michelle.
It's a week of weather whiplashacross the country, Keith.

SPEAKER_02 (00:15):
Whiplash is the perfect word.
Let's start in the Northeast, where mountains in Vermont and
New Hampshire are seeing theirfirst significant snow of the
season.

SPEAKER_01 (00:23):
Mm-hmm.
Classic early winter patternthere.

SPEAKER_02 (00:26):
Exactly.
But travel just a bit south andit's a completely different
world.

SPEAKER_01 (00:30):
It really is.
We're talking a record-breakingNovember heat wave across the
south and southeast.
Cities like Atlanta andCharlotte are pushing 70
degrees, feeling more like Aprilthan late fall.

SPEAKER_02 (00:44):
70 degrees.
Incredible.
Meanwhile, the middle of thecountry isn't so quiet.
The lower Ohio Valley is bracingfor some action.

SPEAKER_01 (00:52):
Right.
We're watching a potent systemthat could spark strong to
severe storms, especiallythrough parts of Kentucky and
Tennessee.
The main threats are damagingwinds and very heavy rain.

SPEAKER_02 (01:04):
And that heavy rain means a real risk for localized
flooding, so folks there need tostay weather aware.

SPEAKER_01 (01:10):
Absolutely.
Now, shifting our focus way outwest, all eyes are on
California.

SPEAKER_02 (01:16):
Yeah, they're dealing with an atmospheric
river, right?
That term sounds so dramatic.

SPEAKER_01 (01:21):
It is dramatic.
You can think of it as aconcentrated fire hose of
moisture from the Pacific.
It's causing major concerns forflash flooding and mudslides,
especially in recent burn scarareas.

SPEAKER_02 (01:34):
A very dangerous setup.
And what about the rest of theSouthwest?

SPEAKER_01 (01:37):
It's a mixed bag for them.
We're seeing scattered showers,a few thunderstorms, and a good
coating of high elevation snowfor the mountains in Arizona and
Utah.

SPEAKER_02 (01:48):
So looking ahead through all this, what's the big
picture for Winter Michelle?

SPEAKER_01 (01:52):
Well, the official outlook is for a weak La Nina to
continue.
But the more immediate story iswhat could happen in December.
Forecasters are seeing signs ofa potential polar vortex
disruption.

SPEAKER_02 (02:06):
The polar vortex, okay, that always gets people's
attention.
You hear that and you just thinkdeep freeze.

SPEAKER_00 (02:11):
And you wouldn't be wrong to think that.
A disruption can displace thatfrigid Arctic air, sending a
blast of it southward.
It could mean a very cold andsnowy start to the month for the
central and eastern U.S.

SPEAKER_02 (02:25):
So we could go from a record November heat wave to a
December Arctic blast in just afew weeks.
What a ride.

SPEAKER_01 (02:32):
It's a season of extremes, friends and family.
Remember to always pray for andcheck on the elderly, those who
have experienced any loss, andthe homeless.
Also check on pets and doublecheck when exiting your vehicle
in order to prevent any more hotcar deaths.
Although overall temperaturesare getting cooler, in the
warmer sectors of the country, the cabin in your vehicle can

(02:55):
still reach fatal heat levelswhen left in the sun unattended.

SPEAKER_02 (02:59):
That's very important info.
Thank you, Michelle.
That is your national weatherupdate brought to you by Wii
Family Radio.
Let's continue to keep oneanother lifted up in prayer.
We love you.
God bless you, and have abeautiful and blessed day in the
Lord.
Stay safe out there.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
