or Virginia to play. Terms and conditions apply. Concerned about
gambling in Florida called one eight eight eight a d
mit it. In Indiana, if you are someone you know
(01:33):
has a gambling problem and wants help, call one eight
hundred nine with it. And if you have a gambling problem,
call one eight hundred gambler. Yo, guys. I'm joined by
Wealthwaight contender Sean Brady. Sean Brady Man, thanks for checking
(01:53):
in with me. I appreciate it. Another big time fight,
you know, watching you compete, it seems as though we
should have got here sooner, right, pay per view, big spots,
big time you know, media obligations. Why do you think
it took so long for people to kind of take
(02:15):
notice of what you were doing down in Philadelphia and
really appreciate what you're doing in terms of your fighting style.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
I think the Leon fight like really put me on
the map. But I'm not like one of those super
outspoken guys. I'm not doing any crazy shit on social
media anything like that. But I think my fighting style
is finally starting to speak for me. The Gilbert fight,
the Leon fight, and now taking this fight. Everyone sees
it as like, oh, he's so highly ranked and this
guy's behind us, But.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
We're all fighters.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
A guy who's ranked, a guy who's not even in
the UFC, he could fuck somebody up who's in the UFC.
Like rankings and shit like that don't matter. So winning
fights is all that matters to me. I'm gonna go
out there Saturday, win fights, win the fans over, and
just keep going.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Do you think did you ever think at times like, man,
maybe I should be a little bit more outspoken. I
should do a little bit more to try to draw
people in, because it's hard whenever you know what you bring,
and it's like, man, I'm working in silence, and I
appreciate it, but I'd like to get some of that
shit like the New Battles sponsorship. Yeah, you know, I
got dudes with Monster sponsorships that don't even win.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I know, but and I tried that before I had.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
I tried it with the Law, and I tried talking
shit on Twitter, and that shit bit me my ass.
And to be honest, when I fought the Law, I
was confident that was the one fight in my I'm like,
I'm going to beat this guy a million out of
a million times?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Why?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
And I lost that fight because I was just so
confident in it, Like I didn't think Blaw was that good,
and but now I'm like, everyone's good. I treat everything
so much differently now. And uh, I learned so much
from that fight. I tried to be something I wasn't
and now I'm just true to myself.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
I do what I do.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
I train, I post a little bit of social media.
I got my own little line of clothes that I'm doing.
I got my own shit going, but I'm not I'm
not going outside my wheelhouse. I color in between my
lines and I just keep doing them.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
How big of it is? How big of a how
big was that? What was it of a help for
you to be followed as it was before the Leon fight?
Because I don't watch that what is that thing called
again whenever they're following you before journey?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
I don't watch that, but I watched, but I watched
it last one.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
And everything you were saying going into that fight against
the former champion, it came true. Do you think that
even maybe that allowed for you to be propelling to
that spot right because now you're in the third fight
from the top on a pay per view, on a
title on a card that has two title fights, Big
Time fight Card, Madison Square Garden. How much do you
(04:39):
think that helped, right, getting those cameras in front of you,
and then not only delivering, but being able to go
after the fight and go, I told y'all, why didn't
you look at the camera just go? Didn't I tell you?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
I mean I kind of did. There's a nice clip
on there.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
It was like two weeks before the fight there, like
I said, I'm going to submit Leon Evers in the
two arena and.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Then they play it back after.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
So it's cool.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
But it's just me believing in myself.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
And now that I'm doing that and I'm winning these fights,
I think people are starting to get behind me. And
taking the Leon fight on short notice doing what I did.
I feel like that definitely catapulted me up to the
spot right now.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yeah, being the former champion, but then beating Gilba Burns
too was also big because of people how much people
appreciate him. Were you surprised though at the Leon Therewars fight.
I was surprised. I knew you were good show, but
I don't know if like that was crazy, you just dominated.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
I mean, but if you follow me and my coaches
or if you're in the room, like that's what I do.
Like I've never even showed what I'm capable of one
hundred percent in the cage, and that's the crazy thing.
So but I'm more confident in myself than I ever
have been. So more and more of me just keeps
coming out in the fights. So I wasn't surprised, like
I knew like I'm about to I'm about to dog
(05:49):
this motherfucker.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Okay, so how far have we come? Right? Think about this?
Speaker 1 (05:53):
You forgot my name?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Bro? Think about this. We're sitting here right now, and
one time you follow one will fight for his interviewing you.
I knew your name, trust me, I knew your name.
I just had like a brain fart. No, because we're fighters,
right sometimes all the punches in the head. How far
have we come? Right? I didn't forget your name. I
knew who you were. It's all right, But in that moment.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
I kind of forgot.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I was like, all right, I'll never forget my name again.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Or you just said you said my name.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
You said, like I'm gonna forget my name. You said
you're gonna forget your name, not my name.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
You just mess. I would never know you just had
a brain fart. It's all right again, We're gonna keep
I'm forty six, move past it.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
But no, I mean, I feel like my career's definitely
going the way I wanted to go. It's kind of
slow playing out, but I haven't Like I had some injuries,
I had some bullshit going like, but now I feel
like I'm in a great stride. I'm not the healthiest
I've ever been. I'm won a nice little role. I
wanted to fight earlier in the year than this, but
getting to be on this card end of the year
(06:55):
and the year, right, I feel great.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
When you look around the landscape martial arts and you
see we have no male American champions. We see we
have no male Americans ranked in the top ten, found profound.
And then when they start talking about the people that
could potentially be that, right, yeah, you know it was
number one, it's Sean Brady. Everybody's like, Sean Brady might
be that.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
I'm already highly ranked, but like, yes, we got me,
we got Joe Pifer, we got that.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
But even that though, like even that though, right, you're
highly ranked. You just beat a former champion, so it
lends itself to the idea that you're on the short
list of Americans. Do you enjoy that or does that
bring a little bit of pressure, like man, I because
I did. I felt the pressure of being an American
champion when I was fighting.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Now I enjoyed it.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
But I think Americans didn't get behind We need to
get behind our own more. Like you see all these
the Russians, all these different countries, when they could be
one fighter, they're not even that good. They're having fucking
parties back home, doing all this crazy shit for their guys.
And us over here, we're just like man, because we
have all these other sports and now, yeah, we appreciate
what we have. So I'm trying to get behind all
(08:00):
American fighters. I think we need a supporter owned more.
And I'm going to be repping the American flag at
the way ends when I walk out, and yeah, I'm
proud to be an American and I will be an
American champion. I just don't know when I'm going to
get it, but it's coming.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Well. It starts like with beating former champs. Yeah, but
coming off beating a former champion then fighting a highly
regarded prospect very different. When you get the call that
this is the next fight, how do you take that
because I would imagine you were expecting something different. Dude,
we had conversations that maybe you should even be fighting
(08:33):
for the title right now. The former Kotchev came up
to challenge for the worldeweight championship. What went into the
decision to fight Morales?
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, first, like, and I didn't even think I was
gonna get a title shot. I was thinking maybe I
was gonna be Ousman and somebody else, and then they
said Morales. I'm like, at the end of the day,
I'm a fighter and I'm going to fight winning, So
off to everything, Like, you know, you go out there,
you win shit, more shit's gonna come. So I'm gonna
go out there beat Morales, and then if I get
the title shot next, great. I would love to fight
JD if he wins. I'll love to fight Islam if
(09:01):
he wins. But if I don't get it next, I'm
really not like, I'm not I'm not going to be upset, But.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Why why are you so patient? Whenever your resume says
that you should be in consideration.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Because if I try to rush it and I try
to do something that's not if I try to take
something that's not for me, something bad is going to happen.
So whatever my path is, that's my path, and I'm
not going to rush it. You know, I want to
fight for a long time and I want to just
keep winning fights, and I just want to I want
to compete, and that's the biggest thing I try about
the compete.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Have you tried to fight like the tomorrow Usban's and
those days? Have you asked ye? And what happened?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Nothing?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Usman's out till I asked for I asked for Usman,
I asked for Belaw, I asked for Ian Gary.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
We were matched up twice.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Well, that that's but you and Ian Gary.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
We're supposed to You're supposed to fight in August in Chicago.
I said, yes, We're supposed to be the main event
in Vancouver. I said yes.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
And now I'm not saying he's duck in me.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
So what happened then?
Speaker 1 (09:54):
If I don't know, I don't know what. I don't
know what happened, But so.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
What happened when you're matched up, and then the fight
doesn't happen. Is he getting injured?
Speaker 1 (10:02):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
What do you mean? You don't know what? Again, we're
gonna have to ask Lloyd, get over here, Lloyd, Lloyd,
get over here, Lloyd, what happened? Why didn't it happen? Lloyd?
Was they were you guys were matched up.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Pin the paper, not pen the paper. It was it
was close to pen the paper.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
And then what happened?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
It just never came there.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
It just never Oh, look at Joe Joel will say,
something just never happened. People try to say, I say,
Ian scared. I don't think Ian's scared of anybody. He
fought shot. I don't think he's scared of anybody. I
don't know what he was trying to do. Get I
don't know, but it just didn't happen. And then now
here we are, and now I'm fighting Morales and he's
(10:46):
fighting the law.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
So yeah, I don't know. But I asked for Usman,
I asked for Gary, I asked for the law. Who
else is ranked?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
I asked for shot cut here, I asked for all
of them. Yeah, and then I get Morales and then
I'm like all right, fuck it, I'm gonna go beat
this kid and then I'll get one of you guys later.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
So yeah, taking the Morales fight, he's a very good
young prospect, yeah for sure. But in terms of style matchups,
it would seem to be one that suits you. Yeah,
do you see that? And go. There's dangers in this fight,
but not necessarily as much because I think I can
control him with my wrestling grappling him.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
There's dangers and everything.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Like I've watched a lot of your career, especially getting
ready for this fight. You're shorter for the division, but
you go out there and you'd implement your game, put
the pressure on guys, and no matter who you were fighting,
you got the job done. And that's exactly how I
think of it. Like, no matter who it is, I
know I stack up better and I'm going to do
exactly what I do to the guys in the gym.
I'm just going to go out there and do it
to him, and I'm going to win, you know, And
(11:47):
I think I can do that to anybody in the world.
I think, and even if you stuff my takedowns, I
know how to fight on the feet, I know how
to win fights and I'll make it dirty and I'll win.
And I think I'm the best at knowing how to
win win rounds, and yeah, I think I think I
stack up well against anybody.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
In the world.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
So what does a Saturday night look like for you?
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Domination?
Speaker 3 (12:06):
And then I get my hand raised and then hopefully
you have lets me sit right there and watch the
title fight and not kick me out, and uh, I
get to see what happened in the.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
T Did you see when belall Uh did you see
when b was trying to get in the ring after
that fight?
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
That was crazy. Was that the craziest ship you've ever seen?
And Rogan goes he's the champion, don't I'm just asking,
did you see that? What were you thinking? Like, Oh
my god, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
It was just I think gets a lot of hate
for no reason.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
He's good.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
It is good, and I think he gets a lot
of hate for no reason. But that's a fight that
I want to get back, just.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
As a competitor. I know I wanted to fight him again.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
If you were the champ and then you were trying
to get in the ring in the security with stuff,
I forget my name. No, that was one time, but
that was okay. We were in the Apex. It was
kind of boring. The fight wasn't boring. No, I get it.
I was tired and I had a brain falls. But
(13:08):
you know, sometimes I forget my own name. I just
did it again.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
I I began punching the head.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
I know how I got it. I was shorter for
the weight class. I hit it. You expect Joelogy. All right, guys,

C three twenty two this weekend. Tapp into everything this
