Don't worry. That was a joke. Nobody wants to hear that.
I thought there was a six minutesex scene. And then Britt, there
(00:23):
is a sex scene? Is itsix minutes long? I didn't count.
I didn't start the stop watch. Will they do it twice or something?
I think so? Well, shesays, okay, I was just joking.
She says, can we do itagain? And he says, just
give me five minutes? Maybe ten? Okay, that's what happens. I
think they spoke like that in thosedays. But oh yeah, oh yeah,
(00:46):
oh yeah. Anyway, let usknow what you have been watching.
Any suggestions either we we definitely mustwatch or must not waste our time.
I'm on. You can let usknow on the talkback feature on the iHeart
app. Just hit the little buttonwhile you're listening along and you can leave
(01:06):

a couple of tickets? What elseis going on? Time four? What's
(01:55):
happening? WOWI the first name stormof the twenty four Atlantic hurricane season hitting
Texas. Tropical Storm Alberto formed overthe western Gulf of Mexico. It's already
making an impact today, heavy rainin southern Texas. They say it's going
to be more of that today andtomorrow. Flooding possible tornadoes as well.
(02:15):
Well, we saw yesterday the unfortunatepassing of Willie May's one of the greatest
athletes of all time, by far, the greatest giant of all time in
baseball and arguably the best player, best all around player. One of the
things that Major League Baseball is doingthis week, just as a quirk of
timing, is they're honoring the NegroLeagues by playing for the first time a
(02:38):
major league game at Rickwood Field inBirmingham, Alabama. Rickwood Field was where
Willie Mays played when he was inthe Negro Leagues. He was a teenager
and he was playing for the BirminghamBlack Barons. They played a game there
last night, a minor league game. Tomorrow, the San Francisco Giants are
(02:59):
visiting the Saint Louis Cardinals and they'llbe playing their game in Rickwood Stadium in
Birmingham. That's a huge honorific forwilling Masters. It's going to be very
emotional, very poetic as well. The timing of his death and the timing
of that game. A grand openingceremony has been held for a high rise
building in downtown LA Why, well, this is different. This is a
(03:23):
different kind of high rise. Thisis going to be a high rise building
that is for the homeless. Thereare two hundred and seventy eight units in
this nineteen story development, known asthe Weingart Tower. It's intended to help
people currently without shelter on skid Row, Eli's largest permanent support housing project.
They have a gym, an artroom, a music room, a computer
(03:46):
room, a library. They willshare six common balconies. What could go
wrong? Six one hundred thousand dollarsapiece and it's funded by you taxpayers.
Why do they have to be downtownbecause that's where the resources are, near
the missions and things like that,I would assume. But with six hundred
(04:09):
thousand dollars, if you moved itout of downtown, like a short distance,
even in Silmar, you could payfor the services there. Well,
I would say, follow the money. And this is one of those projects
where the developer is friends with acity council person type of a thing and
a little wink wink nod nod,rub my back, I'll rub yours,
(04:31):
But I don't know that. It'sjust how things work in La City Councilman
Kevin da Leone, who still hasa job, Why did he get a
seat at the table at that bigfundraiser with Obama and Biden over the weekend,
Like why is he getting invited anywhere? Because he can compare a colleague's
black adopted son to a handbag.Don't forget Joe Biden suggested he resign.
(04:56):
Why was he at that fundraiser?I have no idea, I don't Sam.
Has he paid for it? Maybe? Possibly? Anyway, Kevin de
Leone not. The important part ofit is talking about renaming Pershing Square.
Today happens to be Juneteenth, obviously, the celebration of the un of slavery
in the US. They want tohave the name the park named after Biddy
(05:19):
Mason, a former slave who theLa Times described as an unsung la hero.
Right now, it's named after JohnReal John Pershing, top Americ commander
during World War One. Can't theyname something else after? Why Pershing Square?
I don't know, but there yougo. Also, it's not like
(05:41):
Pershing Square is a highlight of thecity. I don't go there after dark.
That's also very true. I'm notsure that they could find something better
justin Timberlake. According to his attorney, says he is looking forward to vigorously
defending the allegations of driving while intoxicated, and the attorney said, I will
(06:03):
have a lot to say at theappropriate time, but I'm currently waiting full
discovery from the District Attorney's office, which apparently is more than the perhaps two
or three page report that came outthat was written by the officers. Matt
Gates apparently paid a woman for sex. That's according to testimony from the House
(06:25):
Ethics Committee. A witnessed before theHouse Ethics Committee. We'll find out more
details about this investigation that is stillon into Representative Matt Gates will continue.
Gary and Shannon will continue. You'relistening to Gary and Shannon on demand from
KFI AM six forty. Yeah,I'll tell you workplace violence, some ground
(06:46):
rules and some inspirational quotes, andI'll kind of get them the lay of
the land in terms of who's inthe family and the people that will be
meeting and all that sort of stuff. So Jacob just handed me a chicken
soup for the soul book. Youknow how they're all there's different categories to
soup for the woman's soul, chickensoup for the chicken soup for the soul.
This one's called Young at Heart onehundred and one Tales of Dynamic aging.
(07:08):
He's worried about I can't stand himworried about it. I do love
the chicken soup for the soul books. Maybe we should do a chicken soup
for the Soul story a day aday. No, No, that's going
to be working. Oh you don'twant to feel things? Nope. Watch
you watch on Wednesday comes along atthe bottom of the hour, which means
we talk about TV and movies andstuff that's going on. Let us know
what it is you're watching, eitherthe shows that you can't miss or shows
(07:30):
that you could have totally done without. You can leave us a talkback message
on the iHeart app. Just hitthat little microphone button and you can send
us the message. Page one says, dress shopping for my thirty year high
school reunion had become very frustrating.I'd gained weight slowly over the years and
wasn't used to my new large bosomand my tummy pouch. By wow,
All right, Well, let's yearsdown the road. The US House f
(07:54):
Committee on Ethics has put out avery unusual lead detailed statement to say Matt
Gates is still being investigated Matt Gates, of course, the Florida congressman.
Joining us now to talk more aboutthis. Perry Rossam ABC News correspondent out
of DC. Perry, what arewe looking at? What? What have
(08:16):
they been looking into in a generalsense with Congressman Matt Gates. Yeah.
So the headline is that source ofTel ABC news that a woman has come
forward to the House Ethics Committee sayingthat Congressman Matt's Gates has paid her for
sex. So this is part ofthe House Ethics Committee that you were mentioning
and investigation into Gates, the congressmanfrom Florida, who is one of the
(08:37):
more vocal Trump supporters. So keyto this investigation is Gates' VENMO. Sources
say the committee has his venmo records, records that show how much money he
sent to people and who those peopleare. And one woman told the committee
yes, she was paid a buyGates for sex, and sources Tel ABS
News, the committee has interviewed atleast a half dozen women, all behind
(08:58):
closed doors. And these are whoattended parties Gates was there, and these
are women who were paid by JoelGreenberg. That is a familiar name.
It should because Greenberg is the onetime close friend of Gates who pleaded guilty
to wire fraud and sex trafficking ofa miner who he says he introduced to
other adult men. We do notknow who those other adult men are just
yet. And what's interesting about Greenbergis he is cooperating with the House Ethics
(09:24):
Committee. He was sentenced to twoyears, sentenced two years ago, and
the judge said at that time theGreenberg cooperation is more than he's seen in
his twenty two years. So important. Note also as well that Gates has
denied all this, saying the investigationis Soviet in his words, calling it
nonsense, saying he will be exonerated. Just just to make a quick point
about this committee, the House EthicsCommittee, five Democrats, five Republicans.
(09:48):
It's fifty to fifty split right downthe middle, and the chairman is Congressman
Michael Guest, a Republican from Mississippi. What's the saying, you roll around
with pigs, you're going to stinksomething like that. I mean, of
course this guy is going to rollon Matt Gates. I mean, it's
not like he is the moral compasshere Joel Greenberg. And if he can
get some leniency because of it.He's gonna do it. Now, how
(10:11):
do you prove that Venmo payment wasfor sex and not for pizza or whatever.
So, I mean, there's alot that we do not know in
terms of what that transaction looked like, what it said in the comments.
I know, you know from Venmo, if you send somebody money for like,
you know, pizza or a hotdog at a baseball game, had
to say put something in the description. So it's not clear if anything was
(10:33):
in there, what was in there, how much of money was for.
But you know, our sources tellus that a woman has come forward saying,
yes, this Venmo transaction was forsex. You know, last year,
the Justice Department told Gates they werenot bringing any charges against him with
this investigation after they looked at himfor years. And you know, this
committee cannot criminally charge Gates, butthey can issue a report on their findings.
(10:54):
We kind of to see what thatreport says and what actions the House
can take. You know, theycan censure him or kick him out.
You know, that's what happened toGeorge Santos back in December. Yeah,
so that's it though, That's whereit ends. It's not as if the
Ethics Committee could then, I mean, could they present new evidence if they
had any, to the Department ofJustice and then the DOJ reopens the case.
(11:15):
It is possible. That is possible, you know, if a witness
is more forward with Hungress than theyare with you, the Justice Apartment and
their investigators, that could certainly reopenan investigation in some capacity. But we
still have to see what that reportsays. All right, Perry, thank
you so much for the update.Appreciate it. Have a good one.
(11:35):
Yeah, the investigators Justice Department investigatorsspent a bunch of time looking into whether
Matt Gates was one of the menthat that Greenberg guy did introduce to a
young woman who was a miner atthe time before declining to go after charge
against Matt Gates last year, andagain Greenberg offered the Justice Department cooperation in
(11:56):
all of this, and Joel Greenbergappears to be a giant dirt bag.
They're all gross that full circle shouldbe just flushed, serving the eleven years
for his time for trafficking a minor. He the judge in that case and
(12:18):
Joel Greenberg's case actually said that thedegree of cooperation is more than I've seen
in twenty two years. Like yousaid that, that's clearly the guy's trying
to save his own ass. Sure, and if you're gonna if you can,
Because even in Joel Greenberg's mind,if Matt gets was a friend at
one point and a close friend dependingon who you talk to, he doesn't
(12:39):
care. As long as there's acongressman that's a bigger fish than him,
he would gladly give him up inorder to try to reduce whatever sentence he's
got. So right, Okay, coming up next, what you watch in
Wednesday? Don't forget to let usknow what you are watching. You can
use a talk back feature on theiHeartRadio app, or you could tweet us.
(13:01):
We like tweets. I had oneexes, exes, one story I
have to tell you about. Ohbefore we get to what you're watching?
Ones? Oh, why you looklike southern Pennsylvania? Okay? Dateline?
Okay, Southern Pennsylvania. Yeah.Cops pull over a guy driving a bus
with a trailer in the bus.You ready, right? Thirty birds,
(13:26):
four shepherd breed dogs, a bull, and a pony. Are they all
alive? Yes? Okay? Yep? Able to secure the animals overnight remove
them from their conditions. The followingday, the SPCA of Adams County had
to be called in to help themdeal with all the animals. In fact,
the Adams County SPCA had to closedown for a couple of days to
(13:48):
handle the number of and variety ofanimals. What was he doing with the
animals? Great question. Don't saysex, the SPCA says. The dogs,
the four shepherd breed dogs were beingfed the chickens. They were being
fed the chickens. Yes, thedogs were eating the chickens. Yes,
okay. And that the bull andthe pony. We're being used for beastiality.
(14:13):
We're not. You're not telling me. This is why I wanted to
stick with the freaking soul. Readingto you the SPCA letter to the sheriff.
The guy had sex with a bulland a pony. Now we don't
know if he was doing it orif he was just pimping them out.
Oh my god. And they dopoint out it wasn't in the state of
(14:33):
pencl This guy in the matt gateshoole and flush them, good lord,
And I mean to a bull that'sdangerous, Well, thank you, right,
Yes, what do you mean right, yes, stick with your species.
(14:56):
I would say, my god,Yeah, what does your chicken soup
for the soul say about that one? Well, I gotta go find out
about my tummy pouch. All right, what you're watching Wednesday when we come
back to Gary and Shannon, youshould do go goog look up that story.
(15:16):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon ondemand from KFI AM six forty stories
we are following for you today.A growing number of Democrats planned to skip
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanya, who'saddressed to Congress. Elizabeth Warren, said
this week she plans to boycott theaddress next month in protest of his handling
of the war in Gaza. Somecooler weather and a chance of some rain
(15:39):
might bring some relief to firefighters insouthern New Mexico. Fourteen hundred structures have
been damaged or destroyed in the mountainvillage of Ruidoso. They said. At
least one person has died as aresult. Thousands of people had to get
out of the way of this thing. This town of about seven thousand almost
to have been entirely evacuated. Thefires here in California are not that large,
(16:02):
and in fact we're having better weatherconditions than they are. The post
fire up near Gorman is just undersixteen thousand acres, but it's about thirty
nine percent contained. Another fire inCalusa up in northern California, is also
at about fifteen thousand acres, butthat one the site's fire is only about
five percent contained. A study ofnearly one million people suggest those who feel
(16:22):
happy have more career success. Socialscientists and happiness experts say that unless you're
using money to buy experiences, donate, or get extra time, it cannot
buy you happiness. So the happinessbuys you money, yeah, kind of.
The studies consistently reveal that those whofeel optimistic and happy going into a
(16:44):
job of more career success. Systemsystemic review of two hundred and twenty five
papers found that being happy can leadto success in different areas of your life,
including income and health. I thisere is from one study to the
other. This one I can get. A new study found americans over forty
five don't feel their age. Infact, Americans over forty five usually feels
(17:08):
twelve years older than their actual ageon average. What are we doing?
I would have said completely different? When you said the opposite. I would
have said, once you're over fortyfive, you feel, you know,
you start remembering. I don't remembermy forties at all. I feel like
I'm thirty seven. Well no,I mean like you don't feel fifty one.
(17:29):
Oh right, you feel thirty five. Right. That's why I'm saying
it would be like the reverse, they said. The poll of Americans age
twenty eight and older is split evenlyby generation, found fifty five percent of
people who feel older than their actualage blame it on joint pain. Ah,
okay, okay, so that's that'swhat it is. But then so
few people realize that joint pain canbe alleviated in most cases by actually exercising.
(17:57):
I don't know what your what isthat? It was the no,
no, I'm not gonna do itoff the air. I want you to
do it on the air. Wereyou trying it? What was the sign
language it was? It was itwas a joint pain? Joke? Which
joint? And why is it inpain? Why? I understand why there's
pain there? That's time for watchwatchingesday the following programs. It's brought to
(18:22):
you in living colors. What you'rewatching in there America's love television. They
win their kids hold USA television much. Bet that you've not watching too many
of those Lives shows. I shouldnot to explain that that one you didn't,
but it was all right, well, oh, we're in the midst
of what you watching Wednesday? Whatare you watching? Hey, Gary and
(18:45):
Shannon. This is Lindsay in LasVegas. What I am watching this week
was the new Celindian documentary on AmazonPrime. It's not out yet, it
comes out on the twenty fifth.I got to see an advanced screening on
Monday, and let me tell you, it is a emotional rollercoaster with everything
she has been going through with herhealth over the past few years, and
(19:07):
it is a story of perseverance andI highly recommend it next Tuesday. Stiff
person syndrome is what Celine Dion has, right. I watched a trailer because
I heard that talk back and Iwatched the trailer. It looks like a
really hard watch a show that myhusband and I we rarely watch television together
because we have different tastes, andit's a good way of putting it right.
(19:32):
Nice yeah, politically, but heand I both are anxious to see
presumed innocent. Our neighbor said it'sspectacular, and all of the reviews agree.
This is based off of the bookscottteruro'se nineteen eighty seven novel, and
then it was also a major motionpicture featuring Harrison Ford. Now it's getting
(19:52):
the television series treatment and it mayhave a different ending. I believe it's
an eighth Car mini series. DavidE. Kelly is behind this, and
the show basically centers around Rusty,Chicago's chief Deputy prosecutor. Rusty he's on
trial for the murder of his colleagueand lover. Yeah. Man, I
(20:18):
vaguely remember this movie. I neverread the book, but I remember the
movie because it was it was HarrisonFord as the DA right. Yeah,
No, Harrison Ford as the prosecutor, and it was Bonnie Badelia as his
wife. Yes. I don't wantto give anything else. They say this
(20:41):
version is not riddled with the exhaustingsexism that weighed down the film. I
don't know, I said thirty fouryears thirty four years ago. But sometimes
I go back and I watch thosemovies and I don't get bothered by my
I kind of get a kick outof them. There is a certain aspect
of boy. They wouldn't get awaywith that today, right, It's kind
(21:02):
of an entertaining aspect of it,But it's thirty four years When you watched
it thirty four years ago, didyou think this is exhausting sexism? I
was. I was seventeen years old, so no, I did not get
hung up on that part of it. I'm gonna have to watch that trailer
in the break because I don't rememberI don't remember that movie. I mean,
(21:25):
I remember the movie, I rememberHarrison Ford, but I don't remember
anything else about it. So thefirst two episodes came out last Wednesday.
A new episode dropped today, soif you were to get into it tonight,
you're going to start with three fullepisodes. It sounds like So Bridgerton
Season four in the midst of it, I am on er season three.
(21:48):
Oh yeah, season three. Sorry, right, I'm not going to read
this because it says season three spoilersahead, and I haven't finished. I
didn't tell you this, but lastweekend, before my wife and I left
to go to our daughter's college graduation, Will Bridgerton, so I said,
well, she had been at workthat day, so she's wiped out by
the time we sit down at theTV at eight o'clock or whatever, and
(22:11):
I said, well, we canpick whatever you want to watch. I
don't care if we either pick oneof my bad shows or one of the
ones that you watch that I don'treally care about. So she and then
I was flipping through it. Igo, oh, here's Bridgerton. She's
like, I don't think you're gonnalike this. I go, I don't.
It doesn't matter either. We're watchingit for you, like, watch
your episode and be happy with it, and then that's fine. So we
(22:32):
get to the kind of ruins thatthough, when you're sitting there like a
stinker. Previously on Bridgerton or whatever, they're doing the recap of the we
don't get sixty seconds into it,and she goes, Nope, no,
I am not doing it. Iknew it. Can't watch it. I
knew it because you just sit thereand judge one thousand person and then it
takes all the joy out of it. Deborah, are you watching? I
(22:53):
finished? Okay, so I haven'tfinished. But how about that sex boy?
I was just gonna say, lotsthe sex goodness, so full frontal
breath. Did you believe that Icouldn't. I'm like, I can't believe
they're showing her breath. I couldnot believe it. And uh, they're
big. They's that was your review. That was your review. They're bad,
(23:18):
They're big and a lot to leaveto the imagination too. What else
happens? Uh? Yeah, yeah? See was it? Was it six
months? I'm six months? Sixminutes? There was the scene six minutes
long. I didn't time. Ididn't time it either, but it was
it was like the I mean tryingto give you guys excuse to go back
(23:38):
and watch it again. So Idon't know if I'll watch it again.
I'm not. I'm not gonna no. I don't need to see big boobies.
I don't either. I'm more ofa yeah. Yeah, I am
currently catching up. I'm a middleschool teacher, so I am currently catching
up on Trackers here with Justin Hartley, who's not bad on the eyes,
(24:03):
and I read the books by JeffreyDeaver. Two so recommended read is the
Tracker series and then the show. It's excellent. Thanks guys, have a
great day. Bye. Justin Hartleyfrom the show that This is Us.
This is Us. I was gonnasay parenthood and you know, I didn't
get into Tracker for that very reason. I kind of have him typecast as
(24:25):
his character and this is us forme. I think that was the show
that debuted after the Super Bowl. That sounds about right. You didn't see
that movie, Shannon with him? What was it? Did I tell you
about it? Noel or Christmas?Noel? Or? Oh? That does
sound familiar. That was really good. It's a very touchy feeling movie,
though, I don't know if youlike it. Ros I have emotions.
(24:45):
It's not just big boobs that Irecognize. The Noel Diary. Yes,
that's it. Oh God, yes, Oh it's so sweet you might vomit.
But but he's really cute. Watchthe trailer for that. Brush your
teeth after it because it's so sappyand sweet and good. Sherry Peppini when
(25:07):
we come back, they're big. You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand
from KFI AM six forty. We'rein the middle of what you watch on
Wednesday. Hi Shannon, Hi Gary. I've been enjoying down Wind. I
think it's called Downwind anyhow. It'sfinish and it's on net Flicks and it's
(25:30):

Okay, Aloha kids, mahallow uhfinish? Huh? What do you
have against the Fens. It's gonnabe a hard cell for me, Gary
and Shannon. This is Richard,Illinois. I'm thoroughly enjoying the new season
(25:51):
of the Boys, which has droppedlast week. Oh yeah, I saw
fantastic stuff as usual front of ThemBoys. I didn't get into it.
I heard it's a great, greatseries. What's it about? Superhero?
Like a world where superheroes? Oh? You lost me at Superhero? Say
hey, Gary and Shannon. Theonly thing that's on TV that's worth watching
right now is the College World series. Go yeah, they she said falls
(26:18):
by the way, I don't knowif anybody misheard that. Volunteers Yeah,
Tennessee. Oh my god, youhave to watch The Juror on Netflix.
It is insane and we're only onepisode four of season one. And Shannon,
I can't believe them watch Yellowstone yet. I know. Well, I
don't know if you have, butif you still haven't, you need to
(26:41):
The Juror. Let's see here. The Juror, a single mother selected as
a juror for a high profile trialis forced to make note. That's different.
That's what kind of show is that? I thought you sure that was
a move? Was Amazon? I'mwas the one that had the juror where
the guy is the only one notin on the joke. Oh right,
(27:04):
No, that was Jerry Duty.Jerry Duty. What what's the juror?
I don't know. She said itwas. I looked it up nothing and
she said it was a series.Right. Yeah, speaking of Baseball Legends,
the documentary on Netflix on Y isamazing. It's called it Ain't over
(27:26):
Stout Yogi Berra there on D Day. Yeah, see yeah, he was
Hey Gary and Shannon, Brian fromSan Diego, Bryan the new Joe Coy
stand up from Ye on Netflix.I believe great. It will have you
busting a gut have a great day? Does he do more jokes than about
(27:52):
his own family? And because Ithought it was funny, but he just
stick gets old. I don't wantto just hear Philippines. Yeah, I
don't want to hear Filipino jokes foran hour and a half. I thought
he was very funny. I haven'tseen this one yet, but it is
in my que to watch by GaryJesus and Channon I don't know if you
(28:12):
guys have started it yet, butthat clipped movie, Oh yeah, oh
yeah, I'm deep into that.I mean I've gobbled it up every day.
I watched the latest one yesterday.I love that they did such a
good job with them. And andO'Neil right is Donald Sterling. Yeah,
hey, Gary Shannon. Love themovie The Beautiful Game on Netflix. It's
(28:33):
definitely a feel good movie at theend. Great actor from Britain, Bill
Naii. And yeah, it talksabout the Homeless World Cup. It's a
real thing. It started twenty yearsago. And this is like a great
kind of comic movie but also likea good feel good ending. Thanks homeless
guys putting together soccer team. Basically, yes, supposed to be great.
(28:56):
The true story of the fake kidnappingbehind the Sherry docuseries. It's called Perfect
Wife The Mysterious Disappearance of Sherry Peppinithree part Hulu docuseries. They say it's
the film negative of the Denise Huskinsstory. That was clever way to put
it. That's yeah, that's good. I mean both of the Northern California.
(29:17):
Obviously, Denise Huskins was the womanwho was actually kidnapped and nobody believed
her. Cherry Peppini was the womanwho was taken by her boyfriend, sorry,
picked up by her boyfriend, buteverybody believed that she had been kidnapped
because she said that she had beenpicked up by while she was running by
a couple of young Latina women whoplayed mariachi music all the time, that
(29:37):
they branded her, they didn't feedher all that sort of stuff, when
in fact, she had been herehere being southern California, hold up at
a place in Costa Mesa where herone time boyfriend. Yeah, the husband
sits for extensive interviews for this andhow his his feeling about her has evolved.
(30:00):
But it's supposed to be just incredible. Well you think he he When
she was found, I remember itwas Thanksgiving morning that they that they located
her. She was on the sideof the five Freeway up in Yolo County,
and she was telling this story andshe looked emaciated, and she had
been branded, and she had bruisesall over her body. It turns out
