(00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you'relistening to kf I AM six forty,
the Gary and Shannon Show on demandon the iHeartRadio app. He pulled the
crime measure. Yeah, well,I think it was also the other you
know, one hundred Democrats in theCapitol who were like, it's probably not
a great idea, it's right, just look really stupid. It probably wasn't
us that he was listening to.It probably wasn't us that Joe Biden was

(00:22):
listening to when we said you gotto get out now for anyone to get
any sort of momentum, Hey,this is a very weird day. Do
you realize that? Because okay,it's your birthday, so happy birthday,
thank you. But what's weird isI don't think we've ever worked on your
birthday. We have not because it'sso close to the fourth. We usually

(00:44):
take the fourth off. We do. There's always a couple of days it's
on something Like my mother said tome, she goes, you never work
on your birthday. I said, you know, I've gotten to the age
where it's ridiculous to not work onmy birthday. Yeah, and also it's
a Wednesday, which is yeah, what do we do on a wedda.
I don't know. We're gonna havelunch. Boss off the to buy lunch.
Yes, And you first said no, I said, and everybody around

(01:07):
you is like, what are youdoing? Don't I know? And then
I looked at everybody I was like, no, absolutely, that sounds wonderful.
We're all sitting there with our emptysouper bowls. Please, so happy
birthday. I put on Instagram theHapey birth DAP message so that people can
send you some birthday messages on verysocial media. Very nice. Okay,

(01:27):
back to what you're saying. Yes. The New York Times a very short
time ago posted a story the WhiteHouse absolutely hates, and this is it.
It says that Joe Biden has toldan ally. We don't know who
it was because they have stayed anonymous. He has told an ally that he

(01:48):
is actually weighing whether to continue therace. The New York Times and CNN
are both reporting this that he hasconcerns he may not be able to convince
the public he's up for the jobafter that debate debacle. Both reports say
he will weigh whether to end hisbid if public perception about his fitness for
office doesn't get any better. Andto that, I say, Democrats,

(02:12):
it's time to shut the f up. If you have any chance in November
moving forward and down the ballot, you need to just let this thing play
out and not defend him and nottry to bury your head in the sand.
It's time to move on. TheWhite House says the Times report is
absolutely false, but has yet tocomment on the CNN report. Okay,

(02:35):
so there's a couple things that aregoing on today, specifically about this issue,
that this report helps zero. Thisreport only piles on to a series
of events that we know that aregoing on today that are bad for Joe
Biden's candidacy. Number one, LloydDoggett. We mentioned that yesterday the first
sitting congressman to come out and suggestthat we need a new candidate at the

(02:59):
top of the ticket. That wasjoined by Jared Golden out of Maine,
Marie Glusen Camp of Washington Glusen CampPerez of Washington State. And now the
Daily Mail suggests that there are twentyfive House members they call them the frontliners
because they're sort of moderates in swingdistricts, that at least twenty five House

(03:20):
members will come out today, Tomorrow, Friday, and suggest together that Joe
Biden stepped down as the candidate. That's one thing, and we're on the
not that it's a it's symbolic thatwe are in the cusp of the fourth
of July. Yes, it's not. We are on everybody's mind. The
other thing that's going on. PresidentBiden's scheduled to meet with several Democratic governors

(03:44):
in a closed door meeting at theWhite House today, including Gaviy Newsom.
Also, the campaign sent out anall staff memo today that talks about their
internal polling because somewhere in the shadowsnow again this report that he had told
an ally is in the New YorkTimes. The New York Times also has
a poll that they're expecting to sendout either I'm sorry, publish either today

(04:11):
or tomorrow or Friday that is goingto show a large swing in the race.
This is a post debate poll, and the memo from the campaign says
we should keep in mind that justlast week the New York Times acknowledged that
they are often a polling outlier, and they were talking about having an all
staff call not just for the campaignbut also for the White House, and

(04:32):
I don't know what they're I don'tknow if they're going to say, we
have to batten down the hatches,we can't let you know, we can't
let this talk continue, or thisis sort of the beginning of Okay,
what are we going to do next? I want to know if that New
York Times report where that came from? Who the ally is? Yes,

(04:53):
because everybody knows that Joe Biden isnot fit for office. Everybody knows that.
We all saw with our own eyes, and I think it got It
has to come from somebody. Idon't think Joe Biden said that, is
what I'm saying. I think thatstory was planted. I think it's a
lie. I don't think Joe Bidensaid that. I don't think he's in
the place to have the cognitive abilityto know that. He doesn't have the

(05:16):
cognitive ability, which is more dangerous, Which is more dangerous. But where
did that come from? This islike a Korean drama where there's like a
coup to remove the head and whois going to step up, Who's going
to be crowned the next the nextguy. So that's the other part about
this that is that adds to thedrama of it because because Kamala Harris gets

(05:43):
all his campaign cash, all themoney Joe Biden has raised to run for
president, she would be the onein charge of that. That's what the
laws say and what what promises arebeing made to her in order for her,
if she's not the nominee, tothen unleash the money and give it
to you. Yeah, the problemis seen Ritchen Whitmer. Something great for

(06:05):
her to step aside and not bethe heir apparent and then to she's got
who who's kissing her ring right nowto try to get their hands in those
purse strings. It's it's just theweirdest situation. Listen, it really is
always We've been saying this for twentyyears now. This is so weird it

(06:27):
can never I didn't think politics wouldever get like this. I had a
memory pop up from me and mygirlfriends from twenty sixteen. It was a
memory from yesterday, and I'm like, we look so much lighter. It
was before all the stuff started happening, Right, we just look like we
don't have a care in the world. Well, we'll talk more about this.
There are some other polls that havecome out that suggested that there is

(06:48):
one candidate there at least one commonname that has come out that would wipe
out Donald Trump in a national poll. And it is a well we had
a listener bring this up. Yeah, and it ain't Jamie Raskin. I'll
tell you Gary and Shannon will continue. You're listening to Gary and Shannon on
demand from KFI AM six forty BigGary Shannon. It's the corse I can

(07:12):
currently on the five South in LakeForest. I just wanted to wish the
lovely Shannon Farren a big happy birthday. And you still look like you're twenty
one. Yeah, here, havea good one. Happy Wednesday. Wow,

(07:33):
Shannon, happy birthday. That's amazing. Happy happy birthday. Bring some
coaching, please bring you guys havethe best show ever. Bye bye birth
Shon. Hope that you get everythingyou want. You know, make sure

(07:53):
go off the rails. Do afew hot ones. Hey, Shannon,
this is Tracy from Yakbaran. Iwant to wish you a half happy birthday.
Yakama. I love it. Andyeah, we live in Yakima and
we listen to you guys. It'sthe only guys we listened to because you're
the best and my husband is tiredof me yelling out Google, Go Go

(08:15):
goog So there's that. That's verynice. Jamaica is bracing for Hurricane Beryl.
It's gonna hit pass by closer rightto Jamaica later today. The storm
currently a category four. They're lookingat winds of one hundred and forty five
miles per hour. It's already killedseven people after devastating Grenada, Saint Vincent

(08:39):
and the Grenadines. An update toRobert F. Kennedy eating a dog,
He tweeted yesterday in response to thatVanity Fair article, yeah, blasting them,
saying, listen, your vet thatsaid that was a dog needs to
lose its license. It was agoat. I think, yeah, a
goat. Now that for some peoplethat doesn't change the pay because it's a

(09:00):
pretty gruesome, you know, bonesof a cooked goat on a spit.
But uh, well and doll andit wasn't taken in Korea either, according
to no but his friend was goingto Korea and he sent him that picture
and said like eat well when you'reover there or something like that, and
there was something about yeah. Anyway, he was very upset about it,

(09:22):
he said the DNS in his tweet. The DNC's media garbage. Pale journalism
may distract us from the cognitive deficitsof the president, but it does little
to elevate the national debate or reducethe price of groceries. So one thing
that we didn't mention in the lastsegment is that Joe Biden had a campaign
fundraiser last night and he made funof his poor debate performance. I guess

(09:43):
you have to address it some way. He said it was because of his
international travel that he took a coupletrips around the world for D Day,
that he nearly fell asleep on stage. If you're admitting that, then you're
admitting that you're not up to thetask of being president, because you know
what the president has to do.He has to take trips around the world
all the time. Well, andaround the world might be a stretch.

(10:05):
He went from he went from Franceto New York back to Europe. That's
a five hour act. It's aquick flight. It's a quick flight.
It's on Air Force one. It'son Air Force. It's not Spirit Airlines.
It's not a middle seat in theback of a Spirit Air flight where
you can't even get away from thesmell of the bathroom, speaking of which,
though so the reason he was inNew York obviously was for Hunter Biden's

(10:28):
trial. Hunter is apparently deeply involvedin these meetings with the President and his
top aides since he got back tothe White House from Camp David. Is
that where the President gets his uppers. Well, here's the thing. The
campaign that the family loves Hunter, and Joe has said, I love Hunter.

(10:48):
He's one of the smartest guys.I know, I care for him.
You know, my heart would breakfor him, and if I get
it, I'm the father of ason, I know how that feels.
But I also think that other peoplein the circle, specifically the campaign,
would say Hunter, we appreciate you, we like you, we're proud of

(11:09):
you, but do not show upat these meetings. And it's not just
campaign stuff. Now they're saying thathe's been involved in these meetings in the
White House with senior White House staff, not campaign staff, and that when
they walk into the room with thePresident, they're like, uh, oh,
I didn't realize what the crackhead inthe corner. I didn't realize that

(11:33):
Chompy mcchew is gums is going tobe here. I mean hasn't he been
a headache enough? And I'm notsaying you shouldn't love your son and despite
the mess he has created, butyeah, he shouldn't be in those another
sign, another sign if the president'slistening to Hunter. And then another follow
up, George Stephanopoulos's plan. Right, we talked yesterday, did the announcement
came down that the campaign knows theyhave to get a long form interview out

(11:58):
there so that Joe Biden and cantry to come back from the debate performance
from Thursday night. And they pickedGeorge Stephanopolis, And we were asking the
questions, is it going to belive? Is it going to be long
form? Is it going to beGeorge Stephanopolis actually holding him to these questions
and asking difficult questions. It turnsout that ABC says this will be an
extended interview on Friday that will notair until in its full capacity, or

(12:26):
at least the long version of ituntil Sunday. A little bit will air
with David muirror on Friday night, and a little bit will air on Saturday,
and a little bit on Sunday. Then the whole thing won't happen until
Monday. Right, Well, theysaid maybe they said they would air it
on this week on Sunday and GoodMorning America on Monday, but that they
would show portions Friday night and SaturdayMorning shame on ABC. Honestly, we

(12:50):
are a country who doesn't know ifthe leader is fit to be the president.
Right, show us the entire interviewas quickly as possible, and I
mean to use the White House's ownwords against them, you know, kringe
On. Pierre came out with thediscussion about the cheap fakes and how certain
videos appeared to be edited. Youknow, So show us the raw footage

(13:13):
that's the king and the fact thatthey're trying to milk this for ratings.
They're trying to milk a president, sitting president of the United States, who
is an obvious cognitive decline for ratings. That's so gross. Yeah, look
at our train wreck. Look atour national train wreck. Oh and show

(13:35):
uh and we'll show you a littlebit more tomorrow and well and stay tuned
for Sunday. Yeah, a littlebit more of the train wreck. It's
the weirdest. After these messages, when we come back, we'll talk about
why Kamala Harris is the most likelyreplacement if Joe Biden were to step down
from the top of the ticket. But she doesn't come anywhere close to somebody

(13:56):
else who pulled very very well againstDonald Trump. Here is the quote that
I can't get over. It's fromKeith Williams, who's chairman of the Michigan
Democratic Party Black Caucus, and hesays, this lady is ready to be
president. She really earned her stripes, Keith. She did not. She

(14:16):
has been a leap frog over overpeople her entire career to get jobs.
There's no reason she should not beleapfrogged. She is, and she is
the example of the Peter principle.I don't like you invoking the name of
my dog. Well, he wasnice enough to sign on to the birthday

(14:37):
card. I appreciate that. Butshe is the walking Peter principal, aside
from the puppy, Peter, thepuppy continue. In just a moment,
you're listening to Gary and Shannon ondemand from KFI AM six forty. So
now we can't even go to FashionIsland. Fashion Island is not free from
violent crime. Man. The onlysilver lining in that that's not the right

(15:00):
way to put it. The onlypositive thing that comes out of that is
that it was Orange County. ToddSpitzer's not going to mess around with those
guys. Gavin Newsom we mentioned isin DC. He's going to be meeting
with the president, one of severalDemocratic governors who are going to be talking
with President Biden today at the WhiteHouse. But he also did this thing
where he pulled that competing crime measureoff of the ballot, or gave up

(15:24):
the plan to put it on theballot. Enough Democrats, I think got
into his ear and said, thisis a really stupid idea. Also,
if he wants to throw his hatin the presidential ring, that doesn't play
out. That doesn't make you seemlike you're a moderate Democrat. No,
it goes too crazy the other way. Right, there's a big fire in
Oraville. It's probably all meth, although I don't know that is the case

(15:48):
there still, but it was twentyyears ago, right, Yeah, Yeah,
a lot of meth. This isabout seventy miles north of Sacramento.
Thousands of people have had to evacuate. It's about thirty minutes from Paradise.
I would say, yeah. Imentioned a couple of weeks ago there was
a fire that broke out, andnationally it became a story because it was
close to the where the fire tookout Paradise, and it was still forty

(16:14):
miles away, but nationally that's asshort little distance. Oraville is closer to
Paradise, definitely. It's burned abouttwenty one hundred acres that has burned through
some homes. We will talk aboutheat next hour, because there was a
suggestion from the National Weather Service thatDeath Valley could set the world record for

(16:36):
the hottest temperature recorded on Earth inthe coming days. Really, they said
the expectation is that it will bewell above one hundred and twenty. I
think Monday and Tuesday is when theyexpected to be the hottest hour. It
is the record one hundred and thirtywhere and when in Death Valley? Actually
so year, a couple of yearsago. Okay, yeah, not that

(16:56):
long ago, So be careful.Okay, back to your point about Gavin
Newsom and somebody being leapfrogged potentially. The Wall Street Journal has an article about
why Kamala Harris would be the likeliestreplacement for Joe Biden, among other things.
It's kind of spelled out that wayin the way the parties come up

(17:19):
with rules for replacing a candidate inthe event that it's necessary. It's also
one of those things that she's gotthe name recognition. The Biden Harris ticket
is a thing that is easy toroll off the tongue for a lot of
people. And the assumption has beenfor a long time that the vice president
after someone's term or after two terms, would be the logical candidate to take

(17:44):
over, because they're the closest tothe actual job, and she has the
money already raised by Biden's campaign committee, she would get all of the money.
Donna Brazil says there would be anuproar if there was an effort to
bypass Harris. So that echo thatwas echoed by Arriva Martin, who's a
longtime civil rights attorney political commentator. She was actually on with Stephen A.

(18:06):
Smith and said this, talk ofGretchen Whitmer, b J. Pritzker,
Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, anybodyother than Kamala Harris being a nominee taking
over for Biden would absolutely destroy theparty. You got to build consensus,
and there is not consensus right now. If you pick a white man Oba,

(18:26):
Kamala Harris. Black women, Ican tell you this, We're gonna
walk away. We're gonna blow theparty up. If you pick the black
woman. You don't walk away toa riva. Where are you gonna walk
away to? You'll walk away. You're gonna walk away to Trump got the
oba Kamala Harris. So where arewe getting agreement from on who this ideal
Democratic candidate should be? So I'mnot asking for a white man. In

(18:51):
fact, it looks like people areasking for another black woman. Michelle Obama
is the only Democrat to beat formerPresident Trump. In a new poll release
by Reuters IPSOS, they found MichelleObama was the only Democrat with a lead
on Trump in this matchup, garneringfifty percent support to his thirty nine percent.
Only four percent of respondents said theywould not vote at all. Who

(19:17):
knows if Michelle Obama wants a job. I don't think she does, but
she really would I think beat Trump. Harris apparently only trails Trump by two
percentage points in a CNN poll releaseyesterday. That's a better showing than Biden.
Kamala Harris has better numbers against Trumpthan Joe Biden. And when you
think about it, Her approval ratingsare down near where his are, near

(19:41):
where President Biden's are. Her likabilityrating is down near where his are.
I mean, it's not a it'snot a great replacement unless she has some
way of coming out and you know, just like Joe Biden has it.
According to the New York Times,he's been telling an ally that he's only

(20:02):
got a couple of days to fixthe public image that was destroyed on Thursday
night. Kamala Harris would have anuphill climb to get out of that likability
hole that she's in. And Idon't know how she does that because we've
seen her for years. We sawher here in California where the times that

(20:22):
she spoke did not she did notengender a lot of likability. So don't
I don't get it. I mean, Michelle Obama probably has more of a
likability factor to her, clearly,I mean, in that poll it shows
that she does. But people arejust willing to throw out any expectation of
experience or I think, like Ithink, people are ready to get rid

(20:48):
of Joe Biden. And that's whyher numbers have risen because of his bad
performances, because of his cognitive declineanybody but Joe Biden, I think for
some people, which is weird.I mean, you and I could probably
come up. So the only wayDemocrats will be able to live with themselves,
yeah, if they leave his corneris to go into hers. I

(21:11):
feel like there are multiple names.I mean, I don't think Michelle Obama
should be in the top ten interms of Democrats that could or should lead
the party because I wouldn't want tovote for somebody as president. But look
at Donald Trump again, I don'twant to vote for him. I don't
want to vote for the guy whohas I mean, now, he clearly

(21:32):
has experience as president, but Idon't know if it's the right experience as
president, and I don't know ifwe need to continue going down that path
of division. Like that's the partI don't like about it. I wonder
if the presidency is going the wayof governors, where governors, I think,
by and large are like cheerleaders arelike like Arnold Twarzenegger was perfect.
I don't really think he did thework. I don't really think Donald Trump

(21:53):
did the work. I don't Ithink that now it's just kind of like
the cheerleader of the party and MichelleObama, I think despite her lack of
experience, I think she has alot of experience in being an intelligent person
who would surround herself with the peoplethat Democrats would be comfortable with running the
country. Yeah, and that's Imean, you said that the other day

(22:14):
when we talked about Michelle Obama. The opportunity for someone to put together a
team of people, and that's whysome of the you know, some of
the candidates will talk about who theywould put in their cabinet, you know,
and they want to show you thevoter that they are smart enough to
put the smart people in the cabinet, whether they agree with them or not.

(22:36):
I think it's you know, yougot to have people in the cabinet
that'd be willing to tell you no. And I don't know if she is.
I would hope that she would.I mean again, I think we're
miles away from Michelle Obama becoming acandidate because she, along with the Reva
Martin, would never want a sidestepKamala Harris. Yes, that's true,
that is very true. So GavinNewsom could care less. He doesn't care.

(22:59):
He he wants it for him.He will rapes over her body.
Daily Mail had another not a scathingarticle because it's all information that we've seen
before, but it was a breakdownof who Gavin Newsome is, talking about
addiction, talking about his companies, talking about Kimberly Gilfoyle, talking about the

(23:21):
nineteen year old that he was givingwine to at an event that he started
dating, the best friend's wife thathe started banging around with in Morin.
We know exactly who he is.Who that rich guy, that entitled guy,
the guy who thinks he can doanyone he wants to do, and
do anything and do anything he wants. Yeah, and the great quote in

(23:42):
that article was he doesn't have anyreal friends. Of course he doesn't because
he's not a real person. There'snothing there to be friends with. Now,
all right, more information, morestories, No more Biden. Now
we'll get back to that and swampwatch later on. We'll cleanse our palates
with something. Gary and Shannon willcontinue. You're listening to Gary and Shannon
on demand from KFI AM six forty. I don't think either one of us

(24:07):
was endorsing Michelle Obama to be president. But people listen. People hear what
they want to hear. I don'tthink I've ever endorsed anybody for anything.
That's That's the other thing is youcan't. I don't jump on the back
of any sort of politician. Whatan awful I really don't find them to
be people that I aspire to be. Unfortunately, we're at a place in

(24:27):
this country where only the most cutthroat, most shady people rise to the levels
of power in politics. Manipulative, manipulative, horrible people that have to do
horrible things in terms of achieving andcultivating their power. That's one of the

(24:48):
reasons why I never got into theworld of television, I mean our business.
Everybody asked, well, why howcome you don't do more TV or
something? And I just remember rememberbeing in school hearing from TV people who
are working in the business about whatthey had to do to each other just
to get ahead. So cutthroat,So cut throat just wasn't my personality.

(25:10):
And all the makeup you'd have towear and the outfits makeup doesn't find I'm
fine with that, Yeah, butyour face is being fake and you have
to you have to put on thefacade you have to be you have to
be happy and pretty, and youare very pretty and usually happy, but
sometimes I don't know if you're makinga better thirsty You should take a drinks.

(25:34):
Happy birthday, Shannon. I discoveredthe Gary and Shannon Show during the
pandemic. You've brought me so muchjoy and laughter. Oh, thank you
so much, wonderful. Happy birthday, Shannon. You look great for sixty
three. Good morning, Shannon, you do have a brain. Not many
people nowadays know who doctor Lawrence Peteris. Thank you for the prince and

(26:00):
happy birthday. Oh do go Google. Do you know what the Peter principle
is? Probably? Okay, it'swhere people keep getting promoted to the point
where they have no skills in theircurrent position, and then they don't get
promoted anymore. Did he work inradio? Oh my god, I remember

(26:25):
his show. Okay, So upflationis a new thing. You're not going
to get me in trouble on mybirthday. Upflation is a new thing because
companies are trying to guard their revenue. They're trying to claw back sales,
and they're creating things that you don'tneed, like whole body deodorance. Ops,

(26:47):
I forgot to put deodoran on,so if I smell like hand soap,
it's because I use some of thatfrom the kitchen when I got here.
Old honestly, no, no,no, no, we're not ignoring
that. We're not. You decided. Did you shower this morning? Yes?
Okay, so you already have hitthe hot spots with sew hit the

(27:07):
hot spots. And but it's awarm day out there. Out there,
it is, it's sixty two degreesin here. Yeah. But when I
was driving in and then we're walkingin from the garage, started to get
a little you know, in myage, you start to sweat more than
you did. So I went tothe kitchen here and I got the uh,

(27:30):
you know, the hand soap, and I got in there, hit
that hot those hot spots again.Do you smell it? No? And
but I'm now I'm afraid that ifI do smell anything close to it,
I'll be like, oh, Ifeel gross. Why it's better than than
not using it? I have therewere never eight years, I've never smelled

(27:53):
that, right, and I wantto keep it that way. Yes,
I'm assuming that you would, andI would appreciate that. But this hand
soap, well that it was eitherhands super dish. So I thought we
had emergency deodorant in the office. We do not. Oh you went through
that already. So anyway, companiesare coming out with stuff that you don't
need, things like whole body deodorancefor fourteen dollars a pop, or intimate

(28:18):
raisers specifically for tricky areas with afive dollars markup on a regular shaver.
You don't need this stuff, don'tfall for it. So uh okay.
I have noticed a lot of especiallyfor women, the all over body deal.
Yes, women, you don't needthat. Take a shower every day,

(28:44):
You're fine. They're what they're doingis they're trying to capitalize on women's
insecurities, and it's ridiculous and wrong, and I think it's weird now this
day and age, especially since womenare so I'm going to be what I'm
going to be, and I'm notgoing to conform to a man's idea of
what I'm going to be. Right, you know, women are grown out

(29:06):
there underarm hair, they're letting theirtheir hair go gray. They're living their
lives and they're going to be whole. They're gonna they're going to listen to
an advertiser tell them that they needall over body deodorant. Or what have
you. You don't need that soap. It seems like this is just so

(29:29):
personal. Products are one version ofit. But we see it in food
too. Probably you see it ininsurance. You see it in all different
places. You know, they sellyou a product that is that is trendy
but not entirely necessary, and thensince it's trendy, that's when they can

(29:49):
put the added on costs. Right, how long have you been using your
all over body deodorant for four days? Amazing? I just thought and I
thought originally it was because I havea new puppy. I thought that's what
that smell was. That was notit, That was not it. So
all right, La County has spilledover into Orange County. The toniest mall

(30:15):
in Orange County was the Victim ofViolence where guys ran over a sixty nine
year old there yesterday. We'll tellyou how it went down when we come
