Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to KFI
A M.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand on
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
You know what else happened in nineteen ninety seven?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Uh, Keana, our producer was born.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
That's how old?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Did that make you feel?

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Very very old? Me too? My son was born two
years after that.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yep. I know we're talking about kids. But you know you,
you look very young and you're young at heart.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
So there's that.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
And her life expectancy is going up actually in the
US right now, yes, right now, it's going down actually
because of our bad food system.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
But that's the story for another time.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
It didn't help that COVID came through and got rid
of a bunch of people too.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
But hey, we got some messages for you.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Good morning Gary and not Shannon, Miss Christina, this is
for you.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
In West Philadelphia, born and raised, Yeah, and playgrounds were.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Spent most my days at all cool shee mass.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Planned while outside of the school.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
When a couple of guys who were up on is
off making trouble in my neighborhood, I got one little fight,
my mom got scared, and Uncle Milaire Dunt Dunt dunt
du I wished for a cab.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, so I love her. I'll say along any time.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Christina.

Speaker 6 (01:14):
I just want to say Christina is doing a great
job feeling and for Shandon, I'm calling from the Chicago suburbs,
so I'm not familiar with LA TV, but so I'm
not really familiar with Christina's work, but her voice is
just natural for radio. She had great speaking of voice.
But she's really doing a great job feeling. And I'm

(01:34):
loving the chemistry between you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
That is so nice. Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
You know, I really appreciate in this polarized time people
who take a moment to be kind, you know, because
people always want to call in when something's wrong, and
I'm sure we have plenty of those two But.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
In my house, we call that being Texas What just
being nice?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Cool, it's been nice. Yeah, it's very Texican.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Just do it, you know, human, We are.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Doing what you learned this week on the Gary and
Shannon Show, so late in the show, let us know,
well do it now, but then we'll play it late
in the show.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
What you learned while you were listening this week?

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Locally, Long Beach utility officials now say that the city's
tap water is safe. There was a boil water notice
that affected a bunch of people, residents and businesses after
this major pipeline broke in the California Heights area.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
It was right near Orange Avenue Wardlow Road.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
It flooded the roadways caused a nearby homesome businesses to
lose water pressure earlier this week, and a loss of
pressure like that, such a loss of pressure can sometimes
make tap water unsafe to drink when you get it
back and restored. The mayor in Long Beach, where Rex
Richardson says, we have no evidence to tell us it's unsafe,

(02:48):
but they did warn people in those neighborhoods not to
consume tapwater use it for cooking until they were given
the all clear, and that all clear process took about
twenty four hours.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
So they can say everything is list of work one
hundred and seventeen analyzes of water samples and the impacted
area code.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
So you kind of want to get that right, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Can I tell you a fun fact about our water system?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah, I hope so so La County has this vast
any idea how many miles of water pipes sit beneath
La County.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
The entire county.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Wow, I don't know, hundreds of thousands, seven thousand miles.
I mean that's like going from here to New York
and halfway back. Did I do that math right quickly?
Kind of? I wouldn't know, but it's at least like
going from here to I mean, try to wrap your
mind around that.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Seven thousand miles of pipe, and a lot of it
is almost a century old.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
A lot of it needs to be replaced, so it's
kind of yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
The Utilities Lab Science as manager set a secondary break
occurred on a twenty inch cast iron pipe. That's a
massive pipe, twenty inch cast iron pipe when crews repressurized
the line while they were testing it. The damaged section
about one hundred years old. And I don't I don't
know what the I guess it was all men back then.

(04:09):
What the guys with that installed it? How long they
thought their pipes were going to last? Do they just
assume they were going to last forever?

Speaker 1 (04:17):
I want to ask CHATGBT that question.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Stand by please What they said when the boil water
notice was in effect, they were warning people against using
water directly from the tap or for cooking or even
brushing your teeth. But like I said, they said that
was just precautionary and they have done well over one
hundred tests and the expectation is that everything is better now,
so you can get back to bathing.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
In it if you'd like.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Do you want to hear what the guys thought one
hundred years ago? And this is according to chat Gibt.
If you're not familiar, I mean people are probably fly right, yeah, okay,
aggregating all the information off the internet using artificial intelligence,
and it says when water pipes were installed around one
hundred years ago, the engineers typically expected them to last
seven one hundred years, so they were pretty spot on.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
So we could have made an investment of about one
hundred dollars one hundred years ago and then use that
investment one hundred years later to then replace the seven
thousand miles worth of pipe.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
You know, if only you were in office.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Nobody years ago, nobody asked.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
We could do that now, great idea.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Do not want to do that. People who run for
office are insane?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Okay, thanks. I may have run for office a few
months ago.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Maybe, but you were all your audience. You had pregnancy brain,
So I give you that's true when we come back.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
There was an awful story last night of the road
rage incident on the five through Boil Heights. The freeway
has reopened, but it was an absolute mess throughout much must.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Most of the night. I can't even speak anything.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, it's it's okay.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Done with this.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
You will about this morning early because of the earthquake.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Is that what it was? I hope?

Speaker 1 (06:01):
So after celebrating Shannon One's birthday, so it is. You know,
you have a lot going on in your window.

Speaker 7 (06:06):
You guys are trying to make it sound like CBS
News did something nefarious by editing the interview with Kamala Harris,
when in reality they may have just edited it for
time or clarity. Now, it could also be something as
simple as Kamala Harris stopping the interview and saying, you
know what, I have a better answer for that question.

(06:27):
I'd like to do it again. It happens all the
time in interviews, So.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
How about it?

Speaker 1 (06:35):
How about it?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Arguably between us, we've done hundreds, a couple thousand interviews,
probably so, and I agree he's absolutely right. There are
times said that yes we did well, we don't want
to accuse him of not listening closely. But but that
does happen all the time, where somebody will say, let me,
let me try it again, which is perfectly acceptable.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
It's totally understandable.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
I don't even I don't have a problem with Kamala
Harras saying something like that to Bill Whittaker.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Hey, you know what I bungled that let me try
that again.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
It's that CBS played one version Sunday morning to tease
the upcoming to upcoming interview, and then played a different
version during the airing of the interview, and that the
change there.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
What prompted that change? Why would they do that?

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Right?

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Did somebody come and say that made her look bad?
Or was it the campaign that said, I mean the again.
Maybe there's nothing nefarious about it. Fine, CBS, though this
is these are important stakes. This isn't an and there's
not an interview with Ricky Gervais or an interview with
uh Ryan Reynolds. I mean, this is an interview with

(07:48):
somebody who wants to become the president of the United States,
and we need to make sure that that person's capable
of doing what they say they want to do.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
And part of that is we get to.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
See the transcript right, And I think just because of
the microscope the media is under right now, it is
so important. There's no perceived favorism or favoritism or you know,
just lack of integrity around in interview. So if they
did change it for time purposes, fine, But then I
think it would favor them to swiftly respond to this

(08:22):
and give a response and say, look, we were just
doing it for time purposes.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Here's a transcript. We didn't change her answer.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
It was just the latter part of an answer you
didn't hear in the earlier version, and that would be
completely fair.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
And then we could all move on.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
But I think because they haven't directly responded to that,
it's allowing these kind of I don't want to call
them conspiracy theories, but it's allowing all of this chatter
around it to fester.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
It's that the lack of information from them, that vacuum
is filled by bad thoughts.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, and that's what everybody jumps to, and frankly understandably
with some of the stuff you've seen in the media lately.
I just I think our democracy, the future of our
nation really depends on having journalists with integrity of upholding
solid journalism. CBS was a home of Walter Cronkite, you know,
continuing his legacy and what news should be, which is unbiased.

(09:14):
And so they have been the gold standard in the past.
And if it's not true what they're being accused of,
they should just come out with the transcripts.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
And you know, call it a day.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yesterday, CHP responded to a call off shots fired and
a car drive in the wrong direction on I five
through Boyle Heights right near Lorraina Street. And it turns
out one person was shot and killed. Another person shot
had to be taken on the hospital. They're still looking
for three suspects. This they said, was a result of
a road range incident between a Cadillac Sidan and a

(09:47):
big Dodge Durango. After some sort of incident with the
Dodge Durango, the Cadillac then collided with another vehicle. People
inside the Durango got out and started shooting up the
cattle black which tried to escape by driving the wrong
way on the freeway, and then the Cadillac got into
another collision it stopped that triggered the closure on the

(10:09):
freeway and whoever was in the Durango, was able to
get away.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I mean, if you drive through that area, you know
how chaotic can be, especially around rush hour. And to
think of what transpired there in terms of being stuck
in that for more than eight hours it was closed,
You had people getting out of their cars. I mean,
just utter chaos and a very sad, frankly stupid situation
where you know, road rage just takes over. I have

(10:37):
a funny road rage or not funny road rage. Sorry,
I have an interesting road rage story. I'd like to
tell you about it that way, involving myself.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Did you were you shooting people?

Speaker 8 (10:46):
Is this a no?

Speaker 2 (10:48):
No?

Speaker 7 (10:48):
It was.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
It was actually a happier ending. Oh can I tell
it really fast? Okay, I'll try to give you cliff notes.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Do you want story? You want story music?

Speaker 1 (10:55):
It was, yeah, give me story music.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
It was the day before Thanksgiving and I was driving
on PCH and a guy I accidentally slightly cut him off,
not too bad, but you know to the point where
he rolled up next to me, put down his window,
plit me off and said things I can't say on
this show. And being an investigative journalist I am. Within

(11:20):
a short time, I had his phone number, and I
may or may not have called him.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
And what'd you say?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I said, Hello, my name is Christina. This music is
killing me.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
I said, my name's Christina, and you may have had
an incident on the road a short time ago.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
And he starts cracking up.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
And anyway, by the end of the call, we wish
each other happy Thanksgiving. He explained he had had a
really bad week. He apologized, and it ended very nicely.
And I told him if I ever wanted to do
a story on road rage, would he participate in that
story in the future.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
And he actually agreed.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
And now you're married.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
But the point is, you know, we are in the
behind the windows of our car, we kind of dehumanize
one another, kind of like we do behind our keyboard.
And I think if we could really talk it out,
in many cases, obviously what happened recently this week was
very extreme, and that's a very sad case. But for
most cases it don't end in violence. I think people
would actually, you know, walk away.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Everybody'd be fine.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Yeah, we'd all be friends.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Always take the meeting.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
The Lebanese Army says that an Israeli airstrike killed two
Lebanese soldiers and wounded three other troops today. This now
means that it looks like the Lebanese army is going
to get into this conflict between what was Israel and
has the law. Donald Trump spending some time in Colorado,
away from battleground states. He is going to be in Aurora, Colorado,

(12:49):
the first time either presidential campaign has visited the state.
Those are usually Colorado goes Democrats, So it's unusual for
him to be there. I mean, it's it's unusual for
him to pay attention to it. Usually it's just this
is you know, three weeks.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
In you get to wait. You know why he is though?

Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
So the other thing about this visit, I said he
was never going to do it, and I have to
eat crow.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
I stayed corrected because I he had said he was
going to go to Aurora.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
He had said he was going to go to Springfield, Ohio.
And I said, nah, it's not he's just blustering, but
he's doing it.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
He's doing it. Do you want to hear about my Aurora,
Colorado investigation?

Speaker 3 (13:28):
So you went there?

Speaker 7 (13:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
I was there for speaking at a conference and being
the crazy person.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I am, nosy, curious I God bless my uber driver
who I had stopped in Aurora on the way to
the airport, and she stopped there while I spent you know,
an hour, I give a really big tip. I spoke
to residents there. I went, I actually went two different
times to look at the different apartments that were involved,

(13:56):
because the claim was especially by p on the Right,
that Venezuelan illegal immigrants had taken over the city of Aurora, Colorado,
and they showed that video with some of those alleged
migrants in an apartment building holding guns, storming into apartments,
and so what I found. I talked to a lot

(14:18):
of residents and they said they have been living in
hell for about a year. Especially, crime has gone way up.
This one guy described how two people were killed right
outside of his house on the street. They wouldn't even
walk out, so they wouldn't even let kids walk outside
without being accompanied by someone, and no one would go
out after dark. It had just become really really bad
in this one particular part where one of these apartment

(14:39):
buildings was So there is truth to the claim in
the sense that there was an issue with Venezuelan gang
members that were there in the city. They had identified,
though the city said ten of them and arrested eight
at the time that I spoke to them, so you know,
they weren't taking over the entire city and city leader

(15:00):
Aurora were trying to make that very clear. Yes, it's
a problem, but not to the extent that people are
making it out to be.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Basically, they're not holding the city hostage, correct, And I.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Think the difference there matters.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
I think getting it factually correct matters, because if you're
exaggerating the issue, then you know it will be taken
seriously when down the line, you know if it's being
used for political gain.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
One of the other big stories this week locally has
been this plane crash on Catalina killed five people the
evening of would that have been Tuesday night, right after
the pilot of this Beachcraft ninety five. The pilot was
apparently there to help a couple of other pilots who
were stranded on Catalina because of mechanical issues with their aircraft,

(15:44):
and was then going to fly them back mainland. But
what we know about this the airport on Catalina is
it's technically open from eight to five, right, It's not lax,
it's not even sad Monica, you know, I mean it's
a small airport and they simply don't have the infrastructure

(16:08):
I guess to support being open twenty four hours a day, right,
And so how does that work? As a licensed pilot,
how does that work? If I'm going to go in there?
Who do I even talk to? They don't have a
tower there.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, but there's an airport manager who's there, and it's
it's kind of like when you land there, it's very
a small town type of feel where you can go in,
you can talk to the airport manager.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
All the pilots who are regulars there know him.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
And so from what the reports indicate, these pilots who
were very, very experienced who flew in. One was the
owner of a flight school that I actually am a
member of the LA ninety nine's. It's a group of
women pilots and they actually meet at Proteus and he
owned that school, and so he was very beloved and
had a lot of experience. The guy who owned the

(16:54):
plane had decades of experience. He used to own a
flight school at Santa Monica Airport. And these were guys
who really knew what they were doing.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
And so that's kind of.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
It leaves a lot of questions, right because they got
permission reportedly to land right after six o'clock when the
airport was already closed, and then they were on the
ground for two hours. And so amongst the things the
NTSB will investigate. One, the plane they were flying in
was for four people and they took.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Off with five, So did and even that much weight
would make a difference.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
It could, It certainly could, especially with a runway like that,
and you know all the different factors that come into play.
I mean, it's a three thousand foot runway. It's called
the airport in the sky. It's very daunting to land
and take off at. I was doing my IFR training,
which is when you can fly in clouds, and I
I was training there somewhat recently, and landing it looks

(17:55):
like you're landing on a cliff, and it looks like
you're taking off on a cliff. And there's this optical
illusion which almost means makes the runway look like it's
ending before it is. And there's a little like hump
in the middle of the runway too, and then you
know it's it's a relatively I mean, it's it's a
long enough runway, but if you're a little bit overweight,
how does that impact things? And then I'm hearing reports

(18:15):
from very good sources that there may have been an
issue with the right engine and so that's something the
NTSP will look into as well.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Yeah, because the I mean we were talking about, you
got to have permission, you have to make arrangements if
you're going to land outside of the normal operating hours
between eight and five. And apparently, according to the airport's
general manager, the pilot did arrange for the landing after
five pm, but had not made arrangements for a takeoff,

(18:45):
right Is that Is that a just an oopsie like
I forgot to do it, or maybe that wasn't the
plan that they were planning on staying overnight, or well, look, I.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
You know, the one thing you don't do as a
pilot is make any sort of assumptions, and so you
always want to leave the investigation to the NTSB and
not speculate. With what happened with getting the clearance landing,
you would think they would get the clearance to take off,
you know as well in that moment, But what happened
in that two hours, I would I would think that

(19:18):
they would not want to stick around at that point
when everything's closed. It's not like they could have sat
there and had a meal. You know, everything's closed at
that point. Up there, they do have a great place
to eat there when you land right next to the airport,
but at that time there's nothing, So you're basically just
standing on top of Catalina Island overlooking the island with
like not really anyone around. And so what was going

(19:41):
through their mind during that time? And I think that's
going to be a big part of the investigation.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
I didn't I didn't know they had a restaurant there,
the Airport in the Sky restaurant.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
I don't know if that's what the restaurant's called, but
the airport in general is called the Airport in the Sky. Yeah,
it's I mean, it's beautiful. It's a very special place.
And this whole thing is a huge tragedy for the
aviation community. So of course our hearts are with the
families of the five people who died.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
The death toll now after Hurricane Milton is up to sixteen.
There have been some good stories that came out of Milton.
Coast Guard has rescued a man clinging to a cooler
about thirty miles offshore. They rescued this guy yesterday afternoon.
He survived hurricane force winds and heavy seas overnight.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
He had gone out.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
He's a fishing boat captain apparently tried to make repairs
on the fishing boat after it had broken down Monday,
and then went back out there Wednesday morning before the
hurricane came in, and then whatever happened to the boat
threw him overboard. All he was a lifeboat, he had
a cooler, and thankfully he had a location beacon on

(20:47):
him so they were able to find him.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
A couple of.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
People were killed at a chemical or just outside a
chemical plant, I should say near Houston. A hydrogen sulfide
leak was reported at a Pemex facil in the Houston
suburb of Deer Park. Sheriff said that workers were working
on a flange when there was a leak of that chemical.
Two people confirmed killed at the site. Thirty five others

(21:10):
either had to be transported for injuries or were triaged
at the scene.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
All right, it is time, it's my mic off.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I'm not going to make sure.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
I saw you quickly move to try to save me.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
But gus, I get it because the TV you don't
have to turn it off.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Yeah, the MIC's just on all the time. Just magic,
just got that hot mic. All right, Well, we've been
talking about this story. If you haven't seen the video,
check out on Instagram Street People of Beverly Hills. He
originally posted this video. It has gone viral with thousands
and thousands and thousands of views.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
And basically what happened.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
It was in Beverly Hills back in April and a
group of Hecklers goes outside of Porta Villa. There's this
customer in there. He sees these guys, three guys dressed
in all black. They had these masks on, they were
holding things in their hands that resembled weapons, and they
were basically talking crap to the people who are just
trying to enjoy their meal. And so this customer steps

(22:09):
in to defend them, and that customer joins us right
now with his first interview he's given are Yette, thank
you very much. Also David Hack him far he's a
defense attorney, criminal defense attorney, to talk about the implications
of all of this and what we've seen happening, the
trends we've seen happening in Los Angeles County lately.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
I want to welcome you both to the show.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Hi, thank you for having me, Thank you for having us.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yeah, so are yet. Let's start with you. Can you
just describe what happened that night in April.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Yes, a brief rundown. So I'm walking down the street
on the sidewalk and I look over because I heard
shouting and yelling and screaming, and I look to my
right and I see a group before guys in masks
hiding their identity, and the police where they're in the
scene as well, And I love gorin. The first thing
that I that I think that comes to my head,

(23:03):
I'm like, oh wow, you know, I mean, Beverly Hills
has a high Jewish population, and their covering identity. They're
harassing people, bullying people, and I'm thinking there are probably
some anti Israel agitators. Well, moments later, I'm walking down
to the restaurant in Porto Villa and I go inside
and then they happen to come there as well. As

(23:24):
I'm having a drink sitting at the bar, they do
the same thing. They're harassing people, they're saying mean thanks
to them, They're bullying them and including myself. So I
get up and I confront them. I tell them, please listen,
just leave. You're making people feel uncomfortable. I don't like it,
nobody else likes it. And next thing, you know, they're just,

(23:46):
you know, saying things to me, mean thing of just
saying things to other people and getting close to my face,
recording right up to my face and saying things. And
basically at one point I noticed his left hand. He
had an iPhone tripod or a selfie fist and it

(24:07):
was his left hand, and I anticipated they made that
he may at one point hit me with it, and
indeed he did so he struck me with it, which was,
you know, a weapon. I managed to dug down, but
he still caught me with a piece of it, and
then in return, I hit him back, and that was
pretty much the end of that altercation, at least a

(24:29):
physical education.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
It's very dramatic in the video because you see you
see him, you know, take that left hand and go
towards you, and of course you defended yourself and he
flew way back. And I think, I think in this
time people are responding and part of the reason this
has gone viral is because people are just sick of
the anti Semitism.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
And what was that part of it?

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Because I know earlier we were speaking and you said,
you're in Albanian Muslim you very much believe in standing
up against anti Semitism and standing with your you know,
Jewish brothers and sisters.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Can you talk more about that?

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Yes, no, absolutely. First of all, my great uncle rest
in peace, that pass away four years ago. He is
a survivor of the Holocaust and Albanian Muslim and he
survived in the concentration cam Utdausen Wow. And Albina has
a history of a religious tolerance both Muslims and Christians

(25:30):
living in harmony, even though it's a majority Muslim country
secular Muslims or majority country. But Albania also played a
role in protecting all of the Jews that were in
Albinia from the Nazi occupiers. And this, you know, was
a great gesture that both Albanian Muslims and Christians did,

(25:53):
and you know, I feel pride in that, you know,
And so that's basically my connection to it.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
You know as well, David, as a defense attorney, is
are yet in trouble at all? I mean, is this
he was sticking up for himself. He wasn't the one
that threw the first ponge.

Speaker 8 (26:19):
You know, it's a very interesting question. I've been a
criminal defense attorney for fifteen years now, and the last
few years, especially during COVID. You know, people are afraid
to share stories like this, And kudos to Treat People
Media and Street People Hills for sharing the story because
this is actually a textbook case for self defense. There
if you look at this of the of this incident,

(26:42):
through the number of angles that they've shared it on
Street People media, you could see first of all that
the perpetrator, the instigator, the agitator, was trespassing, He was
not a patron of the restaurant. That he was clearly
coming into his personal space. And ari Yette was actually
punched first. So I don't know if you mentioned this,

(27:05):
but he was punched in the joffers and he was
hurt for about a week. So and that was a
perfect situation of self defense, just the perfect perfect situation.
And another thing you have to take into consideration is
how the constitution would protect them.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Look, there are a lot of left leaning.

Speaker 8 (27:24):
Prosecutors out there. I can tell you that that would
love to get their hands on a case where they
could prosecute a pro Israel student, you know, crossing the line.
But what protects are yet here is the Constitution. It's
namely the confrontation clause. He has a right to confront
any accuser. If this person were to accuse him of assault,

(27:44):
he would have a right to bring him on the
stand and ask him questions and cross examined questions. And
I don't think any prosecutor would want to risk their
ninety nine percent conviction rate doing.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
That on this case.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
That's a good point.

Speaker 4 (27:58):
Well, it was, it was dramatic, it was a good punch,
I mean, all of all of it was. I fully
support you, and I think you had a lot of
people that were pulling for you are yet So thanks
for your time and anytime you want to eat a
restaurant that I'm at, feel free.

Speaker 8 (28:15):
He is also a model and an actor. So if
there's anybody, if there's any Jewish producer out there looking
for an action hero, he's your guy.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
That was the audition tape.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
Listening. Yeah, sure, go ahead, Yeah, I just want again
thank you guys for having us here.
