Speaker 1 (00:00):
On on with Mario.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Lopez halfway through the week. Without Mario, Courtney Lopez back
behind the mine, fired him to be hanging with you
for the next few hours. A lot of radio fun
plan gonna serve up some fresh justice in Courtney's court.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Plus we'll play Name that Tune a little later, dig
into the buzz, and we're just a few songs away
from handing out this week's Good Deed Lopezi Award.

Speaker 4 (00:21):
So turn it up.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
You're on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Timed ho or someone who's doing a good deed in
the world. You're all with Mario Courtney Lopez. All right?
Who is getting our good Deed Lopezi this week?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Honey?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
This goes to ninety year old Barbie keel So. Over
the past fifty four years, she has dedicated her life
to rescuing animals and need saving and estimated ten thousand
from neglect and abuse. Barbie says it all started when
she cared for a soldier's dog when he was away.
The dog never left, and soon she took in a

(00:53):
few cats. Decades later, her sanctuary now spans twelve acres
and is home to one hundred and six seacats, one hundred chickens,
eighty rabbits, sixteen pigs, eight dogs, that's it, and even
six horses.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Even though she has an amazing team of volunteers to
help out, Barbie still wakes up at seven am every
day to care for her beloved animals and says she
never takes a day off. And if you want to
know her secret to staying so strong, she says, it's
hard work and a breakfast of beans every morning.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Okay, okay, Barbie keel. I like that she's getting her
iron with their beans.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
She should open up her own little thing called Barbie's Beans,
Barbie's Beans with a zoo.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
There you go, or Mario Lopez coming up, Amaro, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
More music coming your way. After quick look at some
of the new stuff hitting TV and streaming.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
ABC has a new episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,
and we are not on it again, you Mario, That's
all I ask. Pat Sajak and Vana whitehost and tonight's
celebrity condestins are Wendy McClendon, Covey, Ben Schwartz, and Adam Paley.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
It's like fine, now we'll get our turn.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Fox as the season thirteen finale of The Masked Singer,
The Mass Celebrities bring the house down with renditions of
black Horse and the Cherry Tree, Moon River, Stay, and more.
And Netflix begins streaming season two of NASCAR Full Speed,
covering the cut through a battle for the NASCAR Cup
Series Championship.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Oh okay, shut up and drive well, it's official starting today.
You need a real ID, Tamory Oh throwback Joe Rules.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
What is your ID? Real it is?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
That's right, Mario Courtney Lopez. Here. The new real IDEA
requirement includes all domestic travel in all states, so a
driver's license will not cut it. Of course, a current
passport will work. And even though the deadline was pushed
a couple of times, some states are complaining of long
lines of the DMV while others rolled it out over
a year ago. So we're both getting on planes this weekend.

(02:57):
Please write a note, honey, we have to get our
passport and I'm looking into the real IDs right now.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
You don't have one?

Speaker 2 (03:05):
You have one? Yeah, how did you get it?

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Because when I lost my wallet like a year and
a half ago, when I went and had to get
a new license, I just do you.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Want to get this now. Yeah, oh wow, So I
turned them down. I refused.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
You know what I did here on the news this
morning that airports will work with you because a lot
of people are going to show up without them. It'll
just take longer through security, So you have to plan
in time for that.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Even if you have TSA like TSA pre check, you've
already vetted me. Well, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
So it's like, why, what's why I need that? That's
why the whole.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Real id thing is stupid, because the idea came up
before TSA pre check and all that stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
If you have clear or TSA, you've been vetted correct.
I'm hoping there's a loophole if you have that. I'm
going to look into that. Let's get back to music.
You're almar Courtney Lopez, my wife putting on the tortilla
robe and itching to serve up some fresh justice.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
All rise.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It is time for a Cordo's court. So today's case
comes from a loving dad from the South. He says,
I think you guys have helped me out with this
one and possibly relate. Five years ago, my wife and
I ran into a Hall of Fame ballplayer. I became
so starstruck that I couldn't stop blurting out how fantastic
I thought he was. It did not go over well.
Fast forward to today, my child's classmate happens to be

(04:20):
the child of yet another superstar. My wife told me
do not engage or talk to them. She said she'd
handle everything. Well, I think I may have followed her
instructions too literally and came across as rude or dismissive
by not chatting. I'm afraid they may think I'm a snob.
How can I dig myself out of the hole I
may have placed myself in Because they're celebrities. I don't
want to invade their privacy. Well, I have a question

(04:41):
before that, when he couldn't stop blurting about how fantastic
he thought the guy was, how did it not go
over well? Who's going to respond negatively to that? That's flattering?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yeah, I think when you're a celebrity and a position
where people know who you are, they understand, everyone feels
like they know like their friend. So I think, just
regarding the new situation, just the next time he sees them,
just casually start up a conversation, act like nothing happened.

(05:12):
Act like you don't know who he is. I mean,
you can't act like you know who he is. But
but don't act starstruck, just like it's a normal guy
that you're just hanging out with.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
That's what I did my first met Mario.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Who are you good? Me too? Good? Advice more Mario
Lopez coming up Hi.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Her Country Festival was a huge success over the weekend.
If you mess any of the incredible performances, hit abalmart
dot com slash Country Festival for all the big moments
Brooks and Don Rascal Flats, Sam Hunt and more. All right,
time to get a little weird Mario Courtney Lopez. Here,
it's time for Courtney's random thought. What you got?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
I'm weird?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Yes you are.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
I randomly thought about this the other day and turned
and asked my aunt this, and she looked at me
very confused. Why is spelled with you? But person is
spelled with an E.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
That's good, That's.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
I don't know what made me think of that.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
There is a brand of clothing called person No, called
James Purse p E r s E, so he spells
it the way it's sounded out.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
P e A r s E no p e r
s E purse. But that also I thought it was perc.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
It is how p you are?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, perfectly. What I'm saying is his last name happens
to be spelled and pronounced the way it should be, right,
who decided to throw you?

Speaker 1 (06:33):
And well?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Then person is correct? Perse is not?

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, oh there you go.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
It is per person?

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah, no, correct, person is correct? Correct p e r
s o n is correct the way phonetically it sounded out,
p u r s e phonetically.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Is not myth grade English.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Then per is p u r r.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Well, person, that's a lot of ours, because when you
say when you say per se, that is also pe
r that is you're all Mario Courtney Lopez digging into
this recent drama over the greatest American film of all time.
This is a tough one. Movie lovers are going to
argue over this forever. But at a recent American film

(07:18):
It's to You tribute, Steven Spielberg caused a little controversy
after praising Francis Ford Coppola and calling The Godfather the
greatest American film ever. Made no controversy here.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
I'm mad at that.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I agree with Spielberg afi efficiently ranks the Godfather second though,
behind Citizen King.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
He did it right to their faces.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Wow, Citizen Kane's old school, Arrison wells, And yes it's great,
but you're going back really, really, really really a long
time ago. And you know, it's hard to be subjective
with art. By the way, if you're wondering Casablanca, Gone
with the Win and the Wizard of Oz round dot
AFI's top five, those are that's pretty list.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Mario Lopez coming up on with Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
So do you celebrate Macember? A lot of parents say
May has become the unofficial second December, a month filled
with school events, sports tournaments, performances, final projects, all happening
in the final weeks before the end of the school year.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Courtney knows, I can't wait for the school year to
be over. I honestly, I have checked out this last
week with all of the school notifications that I honestly
have to get back into it because it's been so
overwhelming just with the things we have going on with
our family and outside of school. But this could not

(08:37):
be more true. And while some parents are struggling to
get through others or sharing how they're dealing with the chaos,
recommending letting some of the things go, split up events
with your partner. See, I just let things.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
Go and delegate picks up the kids every now.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Let delegate what you can to anyone willing to help,
with most parents saying car polling can be a major
game changer. It's not the car polling from me, it's
just all of the things that they're.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Asking us to attend.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Us to attend things when you have multiple kids in
the same school.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
It's just a Postmates coffee to my school for me.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
She's getting texts in the middle of the day asking
she wants some bowls.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
More Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
So there were a bunch of very interesting looks the
other night at the mad Gaya. You're on Marion Courtney
Lopez Shimoozy looks sharp in a black suit with a
turquoise watch in turquoise grills. Guy was coordinating there Sabrina
Carpenter skip the pants why not? That was a trend,
along with Jenna Ortega and a few other shorties out there.

(09:40):
They showed off their legs and long coat tails trailing
behind him.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Miley Cyrus or a crocodile skin crop top and a
maxi skirt. But it was Rihanna who made the biggest
headlines revealing she's pregnant with her third child.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
She had the second.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
I don't remember that she did, you know when she
announced her Remember at the Super Bowl?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
I know it's always big events.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
She she announces, she makes a baby announcements.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Well, so that means she was pregnant during the asap
Rocky trial, which is not good stressful.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Sure ended up working out.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Yeah, well there was no attempt to hide it either,
with a tight fitting two piece showing off her baby bump.
On with Mario dot Com to see all this year's
met galileos.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I'm Mari Courney Lopez. Now I'm not sure if you
caught it or now, but Kelly Clarkson the Jonas Brothers
in cr question on the Today Show stage. This week
is part of the Tay Show's thirtieth anniversary line of
city concert series. Amaro dot com for all the highlights.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
By the way, the live shows are happening weekly at
Rockefeller Center. In fact, the next Today Show concert is
set for Tuesday, May thirteenth, with Blake Shelton performing, So
that should be fun.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Music rolls on. Mario Lopez here alone with my wife,
Courtney is about to tell us what obscure holiday we
are celebrating today.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
It is National Cosmopolitan Day. Yes, I'll take a drink.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yes, we can either go with the martini or the
magazine itself, or the city.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Or the place in Vegas, the hotel.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Or the hotel. You have a choice.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Play.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
I want the choices in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Delmar Courtney Lopez. We were just talking about the obscure
holiday being National Cosmopolitan Day, but wanted to mention this
is also National Teacher's Week, so now's a time we
let teachers and healthcare workers know just how much we
appreciate them. Shout out to miss McIntyre, my eleventh grade
English teacher. She just came to mind and she was great.

(11:44):
And also missus Hunt, my drama teacher.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
You money, gosh, I've had so many incredible teachers. Buddy
Thompson was my dance teacher.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Buddy Thompson. We were on a first name basis, Buddy, Buddy.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
He was like a second father to me. Oh Stabler.
So many people that really just got like ready.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
To go first name too. I don't even know I
feel weird name.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
I feel weird even saying their first name with their
last like it's strange to me to call them.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Like I got a math teacher.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Her name was missus Hall, but her first name is Peggy,
and she's like friends with me on Facebook, but I
can never call her Peggy.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
It was just a different relationship. I don't know, because
I did stuff with them outside of school too, so
it wasn't just a school relationship, Like I trained with
them after school, So I don't know. It was different.
But so many incredible people.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Well, teachers are getting some special treatment that Chipotle has
given away one hundred thousand free burritos to teachers. A
bunch of fast food spots are hooking them up with
deals as well. On my dot com to find out
more more.

To borrow Mario Lopez.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
How for one last thing?

Speaker 2 (13:30):
And yesterday we were talking about Lady Gaga breaking the
attendance record for a female artist having a concert. She
had two and a half million people show up at
the beach in Brazil at Copacabana, which is just wild
when you think about it. But it got me thinking,
if she's the leading female artist I believe I mentioned

(13:51):
yesterday who's the leading male artist, and it turns out
it was Rod Stewart, which I was surprised to hear.
I mean, he's been a star for a long time,
but not Michael Jackson, not anybody like that. Was Rod
Stewart who had how many three and a half.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
Million, three and a half to four million, three and
a half to four million, same beach, by the way.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Same beach as Lady Gaga. That's a big party beach.
And it was on New Year's Eve, which I'm sure. Help.
These are free concerts, but what about an actual ticketed concert?

Speaker 5 (14:16):
So for a ticketed concert. Currently, Italian singer Vasco Rossi
holds the record with his solo concert July first, twenty seventeen,
a total of two hundred and twenty five one and
seventy three tickets.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
What sold?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Wait, twenty seventeen, that's not that long ago?

Speaker 1 (14:30):
No?

Speaker 2 (14:30):
And how have I not heard of him?

Speaker 4 (14:32):
What type of me?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I mean, he's Italian, but he's an opera singer.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Is let's see, that's why.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
Sorry, he's he's an Italian singer, songwriter and poet. He's
written over two hundred and fifty songs. Wow, he's a
provocateur apparently. Yeah, he just he looks kind of like
a rock star. Actually, look, he doesn't look like what
I was thinking.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Oh my gosh, wow, he kind of looks like Sam Kittison.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
He does weird like Sam Kennison mixed with.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Brett Michaels Little Brett Michael's or something like that. But
Stalian singer leads.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Okay, so for ticketed yes, he definitely has the uh that.
But some of these others to American artist Lady Gaga,
who's already on this list, we just talked about it.
This list was put together since then, she's on there
at five. That's the first American Monsters of Rock and
Moscow and nineteen.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Ninety one had one point six million.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Wow, Madonna, same beach in Brazil one point six million
in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yes, I remember Metallica had a big one too.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
They had one in Moscow and then Live eight at
the Philadelphia Museum of Art. That's number nine with one
point five million. And the Rolling Stones in Brazil same
beach one point five million in two thousand and six.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
So if you want to put on a massive concert,
you got to go to Brazil and make it free
and make it free. Yah. They will show up.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
More with Mario Lopez after this.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
All right, that's it, Thanks as always for hanging out

relist some of our radio fun, hit Uponmarra dot Com.
Listen on demand.

Speaker 2 (16:00):

Speaker 3 (16:02):
I'm calling the front desk.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
