pretty funny. Um all right. And for those of you wondering,
(01:26):
Brady and LaVar are in State College. LaVar is being
celebrated at halftime. He's going into the college Football Hall
of Fame. So the celebrating the Penn State legend. And
then Brady Quinn's got big new and kickoff duties and
so travel getting to State College and and getting out
there is a little bit dicey and so uh. Thus
you know they're on flights right now and trying to
travel out there to get to that game and get
(01:48):
to the coverage of that game. That's why they are
not with us here on a football Friday. But again,
don't worry about it. We got you covered. So uh.
Christian McCaffrey, so apparently he's got a quote unquote chip
on his shoulder, right, So he's got this chip on
his shoulder after being traded from the Carolina Panthers to
(02:08):
the San Francisco forty Niners. And here was McCaffrey talking
about this quote unquote chip on his shoulder yesterday. I've
been like this since I got in a league, and
let's just do my job at the at the best
I possibly can. That's how I've always been, That's how
I always will be. Trust myself and trust my teammates.
(02:29):
He's just go out there and be me. I have
confidence in myself. You know. I don't try to put
exterior pressure on me. I want to win, win for
this team. I want to win for these guys, and
I want to win for in the whole Bay Area
because you know, like you said, it does take a lot.
They take up a lot to get me, and I
know that, and so you know, it's not an extra pressure,
but there's definitely a sense of urgency on my pre
(02:51):
I want to win. I got traded. Yeah I got
a chip on my shoulder. Yeah he's got that chip
on his shoulder. Uh. I have a question. I have
a follow up chip on your shoulder for what? Dude,
what do you have a chip on your shoulder for?
Because you got traded, Like that's like your boss firing
(03:13):
you after the fiftieth time you have no show work.
Like just imagine that, imagine having the balls to say
to your boss, Oh, you know what, you just gave
me a chip on my shoulder? Yeah, why is that
because you just fired me? Did you've missed like, you know,
majority of the your time here over the past couple
(03:35):
of years. What do you want me to do? You're
not showing up? Like, what what do you want me
to do? We gotta make it, We gotta make decisions.
You gotta go chip on your shoulder all you want.
But this was this was the movie we had made,
like Christian McCaffrey, Like they couldn't depend on him in Carolina.
They couldn't. So like, yeah, they traded you, but but
(04:00):
you gotta chip on your shoulder because like they couldn't
depend on you. Oh and by the way, it's a
rebuild there, Like is anybody like that? Anybody pointed that out?
Like he's not the only one that's been traded. Robby
Anderson's gone. There's been speculation about other deals that are
getting done. Like they're tearing that thing down to the studs.
It's a full blown rebuild. Matt Rule got canned. A
(04:25):
lot of people got canned, and those are all guys
that were there every week. They also got clipped. It's
a rebuild. What do you expect chip on your shoulder
for for what? Oh and by the way, he already
got paid. It's not like he's entering the final year
of his deal and then they decided to trade him.
(04:47):
He's on his rookie deal, final year and then they
decided to move on from him. Like I say, Kwon
Barkley or some of these other guys final year, they're
rookie deal. Are they going to get a long term deal? Now?
You gotta go. They already paid him, He got paid. Like,
so you've left a rebuild, you've already gotten paid, and
(05:09):
you got a chip on your shoulder. You missed twenty
three games in two years? Like, like, what sense did
it make? There was speculation they were going to trade
Christian McCaffrey in the off season. This isn't like some
new thing that, Oh my god, what a stunner, like
(05:31):
chip on your shoulder? Like he wasn't there out of
a possible thirty three games. He missed twenty three in
a two year stretch after he got paid in a rebuild, Like,
what what are we talking about here? Boss? Why did
you get rid of me? Well, you've missed, you know,
(05:52):
twenty three out of thirty three days of work. Oh yeah, well,
you know what, I got a chip on my shoulder. Okay, Well,
I mean we did pay you in advance and you
made a lot of money here. Yeah, but you know what,
I got a chip on my shoulder. Okay, Well, we're
losing money and we're not doing what was a company.
So I mean you could have it worse. You could
(06:14):
still be here. Yeah, but you know what, I got
a chip on my shoulder for what. Oh and by
the way, Carolina is bad. They're a bad football team
and there's no buzz there. So now you've left a
bad situation to go to a Super Bowl contender. Like
(06:37):
if I were Christian McCaffrey, I'd be like, man, chip
on my shoulder, I got nothing to complain about. I
found myself in a better spot, and it's in a
place to where I played college football there not that
long ago, and I've got a relationship with the head coach.
Like I'm look, I'm all for these like motivational tactics,
but when you're like making stuff up or or saying
(07:00):
stuff that just doesn't make any sense, Like what are you? Like,
what are you talking about. It's like Alvin mack Off
the program where he's like talking to these offensive lineman saying,
what do you say about my baby's sister? And the
guys like, what do you what? What do you mean?
Like on Kingpin, we're Munson sitting at the bar top
and he looks over to the guy that says, who
(07:20):
you called a psycho? The guys like, I didn't say
anything to you. Christie McCaffrey's talking to himself. Who you
called a psycho? I got a chip on my shoulder.
Who are you talking? Dude? Dude? Everything's fine. It's like
you're the one guy who got out and everything like
everybody's good here. I mean, like listen, like you you
(07:41):
got it good, you are, you are set up for success.
It is all good for Christian McCaffrey. I mean, Robbie Anderson,
who the hell knows how that's gonna play out. Matt
rules out of a job. Now he's got to try
and pick, you know, some college football gig and you know,
decide whether or not he wants to take the job
or you know, still lay around and do snow angels
with his forty plus million dollars he got from Carolina.
(08:04):
I mean, what about Baker Mayfield? What you want to
trade places with Baker Mayfield or Sam Donald. That's not
a fun place to be. I mean, like, just like
the whole thing is hilarious to be. I got a
chip on my shoulder. Okay, well can I get some
of that chip? I would like to have some of
that chip? Can I borrow that chip from you? That
(08:27):
would be awesome, That'd be tremendous. Like, I just I
don't know how this is a surprise to anybody, because
if you remember when McCaffrey got paid, the conversation was,
is this a smart move for Carolina to pay Christian
McCaffrey this early into his career when you know the
(08:50):
damage that running backs take at the NFL level? And
what do you know? He ended up He started getting
hurt again and started getting banged up. So yeah, good
for him. He got paid, but he missed a bulk
of games over a two year stretch. He couldn't stay healthy.
Like that's the one like a running like Derrick Henry.
(09:11):
Derrick Henry started to break down a little bit. But
this is after he's gotten paid, and he produced consistently
after he got paid so the Derrick Henry stuff, You're like,
you know what, he's coming up on a new deal. Anyway,
they might have restructured it or something like that. I
think I saw recently or I forget, but like, Derrick
Henry is coming up on a deal, and they did
(09:34):
the deal, and he still produced at a high level
after the deal was signed, and after the contract was signed,
Christian McCaffrey, you look at that and you go, oh, well, yeah,
that that one maybe didn't pan out all that well.
In fact, ask a Carolina Panthers fan listen at this point,
who knows if there aren't no offense, I mean no offense,
(09:56):
I mean listen, I know one Carolina Panther fan. His
name is Mike Lyndar. He's the head of the editing
staff here, and his name is Rhino. And you can't
get a full sentence out of that guy without him
dropping an F bomb. And I don't know if it's
got anything to do with him being a Carolina Panther fan,
but point being, not a lot of them around, not
a lot of buzz, bad organization. If you just looked
(10:18):
at that entire division and he said, who do you have?
Who are you optimistic about even Tampa Bay coming off
last night's game. Who are you optimistic about? You know
what team? You're not going to hear the Carolina Panthers
and and p J. Walker. It's a great story. But
when like you're having to turn to some guy from
the XFL after you made deals for two top three
(10:43):
picks from the teen draft class to be your starting
quarterback and your franchise quarterback moving on, I mean, I
gotta tell you, like, there's there's not a lot there.
If I'm a Carolina Panther fan, I'm looking at the
situation going, okay, Christian, can we come with you? We'd
love to right in and have this chip on our
shoulder to go to go to your destination and go
(11:04):
potentially win a super Bowl. It's just a chip on
my shoulder. What do you mean? You got paid, You're
hardly showed up for work, you left a bad situation,
and now you're on a super Bowl contender back in
a in a place where you played your college ball.
I don't know. By the way, look what you go
(11:26):
home to every night. I mean, come on, dude, It's
like that's like the guy who bitches about getting ten
thousand dollars in twenties, Like, hey, could you give me
ten thousand dollars in cash and hundreds next time? This
is insulting. Excuse you, Like, who cares ten thousand dollars?
(11:48):
What does it matter? Guy wins the lottery and it's like, well,
what are my options here? Well, you could take the
entire payout or you can get twenty year installments. That's it. Yeah,
that's sorry, dude. I hope you're not piste off the
rest of your life about it. Come on, man, Chip
on my shoulder Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. By the way,
any first responder, we'll tell you never try to beat

and a Cup of Joe from the tire Rack dot
Com Studios, We're going to find out what is really
(12:31):
happening behind the scenes at ground zero for one coach.
This is a coach that is very polarizing in the
world of football. We're gonna find out the buzz and
we're gonna get into that for you right here. Next
on fs ARE, be sure to catch live editions of
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knocks week days at six am Eastern,
(12:54):

Heart Radio. Two Pros and a But Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
Jonas Knocks with you here, No LaVar, no Brady. They'll
be back on Monday there in State College right now,
big celebration for LaVar Arrington. He's being honored at halftime
of the Penn State Ohio State game. And then you
got Brady Quinn doing big new and kickoffs. So travel
(13:15):
this and that. But we've got you covered here for
the next couple of hours on fs are, by the way,
coming up in about ten minutes from now from the
tire rack dot Com studios. We are going to listen.
We're trying to celebrate ourselves. There's there's an achievement, an
accomplishment that should be pointed out, uh from members of
this show, and we should be we should be awarded
with something. I don't know what that is, but we're
(13:36):
gonna celebrate that coming up in about ten minutes from now.
It's an NFL story, an NFL topic for you here
on a football Friday. Right now, though, we turn it
over to the man himself. It's been too long, John
Paul Moro see Fox Sports Radio MLB Insider. He is
kind enough to spend a few minutes with us here
as we get set for the start of the World
Series coming up later on tonight. JP, what's happening, how
(13:59):
are you? Jonah's Good morning, my friend? Happy World Series
Game one A and the congratulations to LaVar. What an
amazing honor for him. One of these days, my friend,
I'm gonna get down to State College and enjoy a
game with LaVar and the crew there. Okay, well, I'm
glad you started because this is what I wanted to
start with with you, because obviously anybody that's listened to
(14:20):
you before on the show knows that you are the
pride and joy of ann Arbor right now. A lot
of people would would point to like Lloyd car and
some of these other luminaries, but to me, it's all
about John Palm ROSSI. So I gotta ask you this
as somebody who knows that Michigan program and just has
a sense for the feel at ground level of what's
(14:40):
going on with Michigan football. Has there been a change
in the way Jim Harbaugh has been received by the
fans there locally since he finally got it done, finally
beat Ohio State and finds themselves in the top four
as they get ready for Michigan Michigan State coming up tomorrow.
I think so that was a watershed day for this program.
(15:04):
And I go back to watching that game on on
Fox a year ago last November, and Michigan fans don't
typically storm in the field any longer, but they did
yesterday that they did that for that game last year,
and I think that was just evidence of of how
cathartic that moment was. And then for them to turn
(15:24):
around the next week and win the Big Ten title
that that was that was to me back to back
weeks that that sort of extinguished a lot of the yeah,
but statements that were being made about Jim Harbaugh, and
of course the previous year there was even a pretty
good segment of the population that thought that it was
(15:44):
time to move on from him as the head coach
and so he answered a lot of critics a year ago.
The team obviously is unbeaten right now that they've been
very convincing pretty much every game they played this season. Uh,
And it really the program now has the momentum and
the consistency that it used to have. I think it's
(16:05):
so interesting the psychology of of a lot of Michigan
fans where the expectation isn't necessarily winning the national championship
on a consistent basis, but it is winning that game
against Ohio State and winning the Big Ten and and
that was the standard under Sheean Beckler for so many years.
And for me, they've they've gotten back to that that
(16:28):
point at least at least for for one year last year.
And and there's never gonna be that that yeah butt
statement that all hardba has never won the Big One before,
because he's been able to beat Ohio State and he's
been able to win the Big Ten title, And it
really it was it was a remarkable statement that for
many years the Big Ten Championship game had existed and
(16:49):
Michigan had never been there until last year. They've never
even been to Indie. And so I think that that
was a really important year for a lot of reasons.
By the way, I'm glad you brought up the national
championship aspect of this, because we were talking about this
a couple of months ago and LaVar was shocked by this,
but I wasn't. And Brady was pointing out because Brady
Quinn grew up in Dublin, which is right outside Columbus, Ohio,
(17:10):
so that's that's Ohio State country obviously. And I asked
the question, I throughout the hypothetical, would an Ohio State
fan rather win a national championship but lose to Michigan
that year or beat Michigan but losing the national championship game?
And he said, I think they'd rather beat Michigan but
(17:32):
losing the national championship game. So from the other side,
being there in Michigan, how would you answer, would you
rather beat Ohio State but losing the national title game?
Or win the national title game but no, you got
beat by Ohio State that year. I really think that
it's that it's exactly what Brady said the same thing,
(17:54):
and that may that may not make a lot of
sense to everybody else around the country, but at the
end of the day, when you're there with your family,
are on the holidays or or in the spring, and
you're reminiscing about what happened in the season, you're getting
together with your friends. I really think they want to
be able to say, hey, we beat Ohio State. It's
(18:16):
it's It's obviously important if you're able to beat a
Clemson or beat in Auburn or Alabama, depending on how
they're playing in a given year. Obviously this year might
might be Tennessee. That's you know, those with the way
the Falls are playing, those games are special and important.
But but when you are beating Ohio State, you're your
your natural rival. Uh that's that's a big one, and
(18:39):
that's the one that you're gonna be living with week
after week. I would also say, ironically, and this is
not quite the same level, but this came on Saturday
is big because Michigan stayed over the last decade and
a half has won more games that Michigan has in
this rivalry. And and you are much more likely to
(19:00):
if you're a Michigan fan to be sitting next to
a Spartan at work on Monday, then you would be
a because of the dynamics of our state. So for
that reason the bragging rights this this game on Saturday
is is close to being as important as oil state
just because of the family nature of things. My my
(19:22):
wife went to Michigan, my dad went to Michigan State
there there there, and that's very common for a family
to say that in this in this state. So for
all those reasons, it's it's a really unique ravelry. And
so Saturday's game under the lights should be great as well.
He is John Palmerose, he's Fox Sports Radio's MLB insider.
But we got to talk a little Michigan football whenever
(19:42):
we have the opportunity to do so, that Italian soccer,
a little NHL. I mean, there's no stone return. Yeah, absolutely,
all right, So let's get to this game one of
the World Series. Obviously, first pitch coming up later on
tonight on Fox a little bit after eight Eastern time.
What does what does a World Series championship do for
(20:03):
Bryce Harper's reputation in his career? You know, it's a
great question because Bryce, he has answered a lot of
critics along the way. He's already won multiple m vps.
He he had the defining swings. As our colleague Joe
Davis said, the swing of his life, beautifully said by
Joe as always there in in game five of the NLCS,
(20:26):
and he to me, he's gotten this team here after
the really tough turn of events where he leaves the
Nationals and they win the World Series and in the
first year after he left, and I'm sure that stung
him as a competitor. Uh And and he's someone who
to me Jonas he cares so deeply about about the game,
(20:50):
about the history of the game. Obviously all players care
about the game. I think Bryce has has has grown
up with the expectation of playing in the World Series,
of being in the brightest lights of October, and this
is finally his first chance. And I compare this when
(21:10):
you when you go back and consider him as a
prodigy and Tom Verducci story when he was a teenager
on the cover of s I this is this is
Lebron James in his first NBA finals. This is City
Crosby in his first Cup final. It's it's on that
level in our game. And I think for me to
watch him, to watch him play, to watch him be
(21:32):
at the stage, it's where he's always belonged. And I
think it's it's a credit to Bryce that it's taken
this long of a journey to get there. If you
had told him probably ten years ago when he made
his major league debut in April of twelve, hey, it's
gonna take you ten years to get to the World Series,
he probably would have been a little surprised by that,
(21:54):
because I think he expected to get there a lot sooner,
and certainly the Nationals had their chances. But in some
ways it's probably made the journey all the more, all
the more sort of important and poignant and rewarding that
he's now at this stage, he's a father now, he's
easy to different place in his life that he was
ten years ago, and so I'm sure to me Jonas,
(22:16):
he's appreciating this one more than if the Nationals back
in when they lost to the Cardinals and Strasbourg didn't pitch.
It seems like I was a lifetime ago. But if
they got to the World Series that year, they certainly
had the talent to do in his very first year.
I think that that would have been special to him.
But this is probably more special for all the reasons
(22:37):
that I mentioned. He's been in the league ten years
time flies I didn't realize it have been that long. Uh,
it is John Palmrossi joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, So there's some people that are critical of
this matchup because Philly won eighties seven games this year. Um,
coming into the playoffs. I'll ask this question. Coming into
the playoffs, you look at the National League landscape, how
(23:00):
many teams would you have put ahead of Philadelphia to
get to this point if you were just projecting out
watching what the regular season was heading into the postseason,
where do they fall on the list in the National League?
Probably there were five ahead of them, just like there
were the in the seating Jonas I did not think
this was going to happen. But you look at how
(23:21):
they've done it. They've had a couple of guys really
stepped forward in Harper. Hoskins as well has been dynamic
in the postseason. They've had some some key moments from
other contributors. Shober obviously at the top of the list
and as the leadoff guy, has done so much for them,
and real Muto has been great behind the play. But
for me, it's it's the pitching. It's that they've got
(23:44):
two aces in Nolan Wheeler, Ranger Squadez has really emerged
into being someone that they trust and obviously got the
last out of the NLCS. But this is not something
that the baseball world expected. I certainly didn't. I thought
I thought the Braves were as as dominant as anybody
down the stretch, and then the Phillies upset them. So
(24:05):
uh in the in the second round, it was just
at the remarkable story. You've got a credit Rob Thompson,
the first ever, first ever Canadian manager to have a
team in the World Series. Pretty cool story and obviously
right now, Rob is a proud resident of the great
city of Stratford, Ontario, and the same hometown is as
Justin Bieber. But the Beams have been bumped bumped down
(24:27):
the power rankings. Yeah, so I've got my power rankings.
Have Rob Thompson one maybe in a time with Peter Mansbridge,
the eminent voice of CBC News in Canada, and the
Beams is now three. So the Beams has to get
has to get going again to get up the power rankings.
With Rob Tompson in the fields now in the World Series. Um,
all right, So I need to ask this though, from
(24:48):
the other side, with the Houston Astros, how important is
it for them to win this World Series to try
and rid themselves of the cheating scandal and sort of
the tarnish on the trophy that Rob Manford called, was
it a piece of ten? Rob Manford called that a
couple of years ago. But well, yeah, I think jonas
for me that the Astros had they have more at
(25:11):
stake in this World Series than you would expect of
a team that had been to the ALCS now in
sixth straight years. Uh, and that of course one in seventeen.
We understand the context and and the historical uh asterisk
if you will, that that some have have fixed to
that championship. So you've got to your point, the validation
(25:31):
of winning it apart from the seen controversy. You've got
Justin Verlander on the mountain tonight. He has never won
a World Series start. He of course won the championship
in seventeen, but he's never been the winning pitcher any
World Series game. And Dusty Baker, for whom we saw
on TVs when when the trophy presentation was going on
(25:51):
and my colleague Loren Jotti was there presenting the trophy
to to the Astros, the players chanting for Dusty and
that's a pretty special moment. They have such admiration and
respect for the man who's leading him, and and Dusty
at seventy three years young, has done so much in
the game and and it's just such a gentleman of
(26:12):
the sport and has always made people around him feel
so good about themselves. And this is now potentially the
career capstone for him. He's got to win it, and
I like their chances to do so. I also think
that they're not going to be perfect in this series,
that they'll probably win a couple of all, will lose
a couple of ball games. I would say so. For me,
(26:32):
I think the Astros winning in six. But this is
Dusty's time, and as much as cheating scandal is on
my mind, I'm much more thinking about the Astros are
trying to win this for their manager who was going
to the Hall of Fame and deserves it and get
him on Twitter at John Morrossy, John Palmerossi, Fox Sports Radio.
MLB Insider does great work, whether it's Italian soccer Canadian references.
(26:58):
Now he's breaking down pop culture power rankings in Canada.
He's also breaking down Michigan football, NHL, you name it.
JP is one of the best dudes you'll ever get
to know and get to talk to here on the air.
And we're always a pleasure, always a pleasure, always honored
having you on with us here, John Paul, my friend.
I'm throw up for you and all the great things
(27:18):
that you've done your career since we first met many
many years ago. So keep it going to join this
great time here, my friend, and we'll look forward to
catch it up soon. He's the best, John Paul Morossi
with us here on a Fox Sports radio. So he
likes the Houston Astros in six games? How about that
Burdo Astros and six what are you thinking? We're going
hard in the paint here and for Philly this series
or yeah there so, so this will be fun to
(27:41):
play out. Game one coming up later on tonight. It
is two pros and a cup of Joe here on
FS are coming up in about ten minutes from now.
We are going to hear it's gonna be it's actually
a really fun game. You're gonna hear somebody in the
NFL try and convince you while convincing themselves that they're
real happy about current situation. All right, So that'll be
(28:02):
coming up in about ten minutes from now. It's a
fun little game here on a football Friday here on
Fox Sports Radio. All right, So I'm not one of
these people that likes to, you know, say we deserve this,
we deserve that, we deserve some sort of award, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
I'm just it's just not my thing. I'm not one
of those people. I do, though, think that we deserve
a little bit of credit here, right, because there's a
lot of matchups in the NFL this weekend, you know, like,
(28:25):
for example, the Dolphins are at the Lions, right, so
you got Miami at Detroit the Lions. It's just it
feels like another Detroit Lions type season. And then you
got the Miami Dolphins who are on the road to
take on Detroit. I believe that we on this show
deserve some credit because we have not one time, because
(28:47):
we refuse to play in the mud here. It's disgusting
like this salacious stories that are out there. Not one
time if we brought up the fact that Dolphins cornerback
Xavian Howard is being sued would buy a woman saying
he knowingly gave her an STD we have not brought
that up one time on this show. Refused to refused
to do that, all right, because this is a class
(29:09):
class program, This is a a mature program, and we
refused to swim in the mud and get into all
the salacious details of this woman suing a Dolphins defensive
back because he knowingly gave her an STD. We're not
doing it here on this show. I don't care. I
refused to. So for those of you that are wondering
whether or not we're going to mention the fact that
(29:30):
a Dolphins defensive player on the heat on the eve
of them going to Detroit to take on the Alliance,
is being sued because some woman is claiming that he
knowingly gave her an STD. Not happening on this show,
not at all, not for one second. So we're not
bringing it up, all right, So I think we deserve
a little bit of credit for that, all right. It
is two pros and a cup of Joe here on
(29:51):
Fox Sports Radio. You can get me on Twitter at
the Jonas Knocks if you want to send those trophies

somebody try and convince you and themselves that they're real
happy about a current situation in the NFL, and I'm
not buying it for a second at yours here on

fs are the idea ain't just to touch it, you know,
you got to touch it in situations we gotta score.

man Little Alison Chains, a grunge band with balls not
doing this pop rock stuff that Nirvana was doing. What
(31:17):
did Lane Staley do? Wrote about drugs? All right? Two
pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio coming up,
we'll call it a little over ten minutes from now
here on fs ARE. So there's a situation in the
NFL that's kind of a bad situation for one team.
But but there is a little bit of hope, there's
(31:38):
some optimism. All right. We're not one of these, you know,
these negative people, these negative shows that like to swim
in the negativity. We will get to that here coming
up in a little over ten minutes from now on
fs ARE. I want to let you know we are
brought to you by Discover. We can talk about how
complicated other banks make it to redeem credit card rewards,
or we can talk about how Discover you can redeem
your rewards for cash and any amount at any time.
(31:59):
I mean, talk but amazing learn more discover dot com
slash redeemed rewards terms apply. All right. So have you
ever been able to spot somebody who's lying to you
and you know that they're lying, and you can see
the wheels turn as they try and round the lie
out out loud to themselves and also to you. All right,
(32:23):
So like kids will do this all the time. You'll
talk to a kid and be like, hey, did you
break that vase that was that was there? Did you
knock that over? No? No, I didn't break it. But
but but what I saw was that, um, but I
didn't break it. And they just keep going back to
the same thing over and over again, and it's like,
(32:43):
all right, we get it. After four or five six
times of continually repeating yourself, we get it. Okay, did
you did you fool around? Was so and so while
I was out of town on a trip. No, No,
I would never fool around it, fool around on so
and to What do you mean like I would fool
around that? Are you sitting up fool over? Come on,
give me a break, I'm gonna fool. When they continue
(33:06):
to repeat what it is that they're really trying to
get across, but they don't really believe it themselves, that's
an indicator that we got a problem here, right. So
I say all that to say this. George Payton is
the general manager of the Denver Broncos. He spoke yesterday,
(33:27):
you know about Nathaniel Hackett and you know, you know,
my my vote of confidence in Nathaniel Hackett. But George
Payton also spoke about Russell Wilson and uh he spoke
about the contract extension that was given to Russell Wilson.
And see if you can identify a guy who's trying
to convince themselves by saying the same thing over and
(33:49):
over again in this soundclip. You know, we just want
to get ahead of the contract cycle. We had saw
how Russ would you know, on the off season and
training camp felt really good about Russ. We'd feel really
good about Russ. Um. I just really wanted to get
ahead of it. We didn't want a lot of distraction
during the season. We feel really good about it. I
feel good about that deal. I feel like it will
hold up. I feel good about running. Okay, alright a second, alright,
(34:15):
to everybody, if you're driving right out, don't do this, alright, please,
I we don't you know, don't don't don't make this mistake, alright,
don't no hands off the wheel. But you know, if
if you have somebody in the car next to you,
tell them to break out a pen and paper or
if they want to use it on one of their notes,
you know, the little note app in their iPad. Let's
let's count how many times? George Payton feels good about
(34:37):
Russell Wilson's contract. All right, let's ahead and count this together.
You know, we just want to get ahead of the
contract cycle. We it saw how Russ would you know
on the offseason and training camp. Felt really good about Russ.
We feel really good about russ Um. I just really
wanted to get ahead of it. We didn't want a
lot of distraction during the season. We feel really good
about it. I feel good about that deal. I feel
like it will hold up. I feel good about running. Okay,
(35:00):
got five? Are we only get five? I counted six?
You counted six? What do you mean you counted six? Eddie?
How many do you? Did? You get? Five? Or six?
There on? George Peyton trying to convince themselves they feel
good about Russell Wilson's contract. I heard five? Yeah, where
did you hear? Say? Let's play it again? Can we
(35:21):
can we ding off the number of times? All right,
so let's all do it together again. You know, we
just want to get ahead of the contract cycle. We
had saw how RUSS would you know? On the off
season and training camp, felt really good about Russ. We
feel really good about russ Um. I just really wanted
to get ahead of it. We didn't want a lot
of distracts. And during the season we feel really good
about three. I feel good about that deal. Four, I
(35:41):
feel like it will hold up. I feel good about five.
I counted six. What are you talking about? Lee? What? Lee?
Come on, man, there's five double taps every time he says,
feel feel okay? Hit d alright, Jesus hit the can
you hit the dinger? Like, let's listen to it one
more time? Hit the dinger and let's clear up this
(36:02):
controversy because I got I got five, Lee's got six,
and let's get to the bottom of one last time.
George Peyton, please sell us on the idea that Russell
Wilson and his contract are a good idea for the Broncos.
You know, we just want to get ahead of the
contract cycle we had saw how Russ would you know?
On the off season and training camp, felt really good
about Russ. They feel really good about Russ. UM just
(36:22):
really wanted to get ahead of it. We didn't want
a lot of distracts, and during the season we feel
really good about it. I feel good about that deal.
I feel like it will hold up. I feel good
about runs. I see I got five. That's good at five.
But hey, regardless if somebody's saying they feel good that
many times and what an eighteen second clip, we got
a problem. Do you you actually believe does George Peyton
(36:47):
think anybody buys his story when he's selling it like that?
Come on, just let's all just call it what it is.
If they had to do it all over again, if
you were to tell the Denver Broncos, we're gonna look
into the future and we're going to map out what
Russell Wilson's first seven weeks of the season are gonna
look like. Do you think you should go ahead and
(37:08):
re up him on the deal or do you think
you should maybe wait this thing out to see whether
or not this makes any sense whatsoever is a Denver
Bronco quarterback. Of course, now that you've got a little
bit more information, of course you look back on it
and go, all right, yeah, we probably should have waited
on this. But as he said, they wanted to get
ahead of the cycle. They saw that these contracts were
(37:30):
going up with quarterbacks around the league. But as it
stands right now. It's a bad situation and it's a
bad contract and they can't get out of it. Denver
made the move thinking, Okay, we're acquiring a guy that's
a potential m VP candidate in the NFL. This is
a guy who had worn out his welcome or he
(37:51):
got tired of Seattle and he wanted to go someplace else.
And we we feel like we're just a quarterback away.
We're just a quarterback away, see the greatest laugh in
the NFL. And through seven weeks it's been a clown show.
He hasn't played well. He's pissing off his teammates. So like,
you've gotten mediocre quarterback play at best, and you've got
(38:13):
a guy who are reportedly the teammates are already getting
sick of because he's doing high knees and playing the
solo twister on a flight to London, whether they're trying
to get some sleep, Mr, Mr, Mr un nemited. Fox
